On the way to Fran's, Aaron and JJ told them when they knew and what they were doing. Derek kept a tight grip on Penelope's hand. She didn't ask any questions just sat with her eyes closed, listening. The drive seemed to take forever. When Derek and Penelope reached Fran's it was like a scene right out of one of their cases. It was eerie. There were police all around. There was crime scene tape around the car. D's car seat was on the hood of the car. They walked into the house and went straight to the kitchen. Fran was sitting at the table. She looked up when she heard footsteps. She went to her son.

"Oh Derek, I'm so sorry." She hugged him and he hugged her back.

"What happened momma?"

Once again what seemed like the millionth time she told them about their day. She went to hug Pen but Pen stepped out of her way. Fran started ringing her hands together.

"How could you leave him in the car alone?" Pen whispered. "He is just a baby. You couldn't wait for him to be asleep before you went for the bags."

"He was asleep in the car. That's why I ran in."

"It only takes a minute for something to happen. How could you let this happen?"

"Pen …." Derek said.

She looked at him and went to the living room. She sat on the sofa, staring into space. Derek turned to his momma. The detective walked into the kitchen.

"Derek."

"Richard."

"I have some questions I need to ask you." He nodded. "Do you know of anyone that might what hurt you by taking your son?"

"I only know of one person. Her name is Savannah, Savannah Morgan."

"Morgan?"

"My wife."

The detective looked at Pen and then at Derek. "Your wife?"

"Yes. We are in the middle of a divorce but we had to stop because she is pregnant. She never like the fact that I have a son with Penelope. I wouldn't say she made any direct threats against him but she has hinted in a non-direct way. She thinks I would be with her if D hadn't been born."

"Do you think she is capable of doing this?"

"This and more."

"Anyone else. I know you made a lot of enemies over the years."

"No one I can think at this moment."

"When was the last time you talked to your wife?"

"Not for a couple weeks." He said. "Do you have any leads? The neighbors didn't see anything or anyone."

"Nobody has come forward and the ones that were home didn't see anything out of the ordinary. We are waiting for the street cameras to see if we see anything. We will find him."

"Thanks."

The detective left and Aaron approached Derek. "You think savannah did this?"

"I know she did. Do I think she was the one that took him? No. She hired someone to take him. The question is who?"

"What do you want us to do?"

"I trust the police but I would prefer you handle this. I want to do it but Pen needs me." They both turned to look at her, she was still staring off into space. "She hasn't said a word to anyone since we found out and that was to momma. I know she feels bad for leaving him but I can't figure out why she would. I can't put my mind around it."

"Derek you it only takes a spilt second for things to happen. You know she didn't do it on purpose."

"I know but you also know what it means as the hours go by."

Savannah was unlocking her front door when she heard someone call her name.

"Savannah Morgan?"

"Yes."

"I'm Detective March and this is Detective Winters. We like to ask you a couple of questions."

"About what?"

"The kidnapping of Derek "D" Morgan?"

"What?"

"Can we go inside and talk?"

She opened the door and the detective followed her in. she sat her purse and bags down and turned to look at the men.

"Where were you this afternoon between five and five thirty?"

"I was at work at the hospital." She said. "I'm a pediatric surgeon."

"Can anyone verify that you were there?"

"A hospital full of people." She said. "You said this was about D."

"That's right. He was kidnapped from his grandmother's house." Detective Winters said. "You are Mr. Morgan's current wife."

"I'm his only wife. He had an affair with Penelope Garcia before we got married that resulted in his son."

"You are currently going through divorce proceedings."

"He started the divorce but then I found out I was pregnant and the divorce has stopped."

"Is it true that you don't like Ms. Garcia or her son?"

"Would any wife like her husband's mistress? I've always wanted to be a part of D's life as his stepmother but she wouldn't let me."

Detective March studied Savannah as his partner asked her questions. He didn't like her body language at all. She was trying to come off as if there weren't any problems between her and Penelope. The questioning was wrapping up.

"I have all the information I need right now but please don't leave town just in case we need to talk to you again."

Savannah nodded and closed the door behind them when they left. She went up the stairs to change her clothes. She was smiling the whole way up.

Seven hours. That's how long D had been missing. The police had no clues. They didn't find finger prints other Fran's and Sarah's. Aaron and the rest of the team were going over the day with them but they said they noticed nothing out of the ordinary. The police canvased the neighborhood and nothing. The Amber Alert had resulted in no sightings as of yet.

Penelope and Derek left Fran's house and went back to hers. JJ had offered to stay with Pen but he told her he would be staying. The team left and he went in search of Pen. He knew where he would find her. He opened the door slowly and there she was; rocking in the chair clutching D's favorite blanket. He went to kneel in front of her.

"Pen baby, we will find him."

"When Derek? It's been seven hours. We don't know where he is or who has him. If he is hurt or what they are doing to him. I know he's crying because he doesn't see me. I don't know if he's warm or cold. If they are feeding him or even if he's eating. I need him in my arms, Derek." She started sobbing. Derek gathered her in his arms. "She's behind this isn't she?"

"I believe she is but she covered her tracks good. The detectives verified her alibi. She was at work at the time he was taken. A lot of people saw her there."

"That doesn't mean she didn't pay someone to do it."

"I know but we don't have any evidence that she's done just that." He said. "Aaron said they were going to put some men on her to watch her movements. She has to go where they have him."

"You don't think she is capable of hurting him."

"I don't think so."

Two days had passed with no word on D's whereabouts. The team had the tech go over everything in Savannah's life with a fine tooth comb. They looked into her family history, her life, her financials to see if she had taken out large sums of money. She was their only suspect. Aaron had thought by now she would have led them to where D was but she didn't. She only went to work and home. Marcie, the tech they borrowed from the other team had found something interesting. She went straight to Aaron's office.

"I think you will find this interesting Agent Hotchner. Savannah Morgan has two bank accounts. One that is a joint account with Agent Morgan and other that is solely hers. Her paychecks are divided to go into both accounts. From what I can see, she really doesn't use her personal account that is until recently. Starting almost a year ago, a large sum of money was paid to fertility specialist and then a month ago, she withdrew another large sum."

"Fertility specialist."

"Yes but the weird thing about it is I looked at the office's records and there is no one there as a patient with the name Savannah Morgan."

"She used a different name."

"It would appear so." He said. "Here is the address and the name of the doctor she saw."

"Thanks Marcie."

Aaron went to the bullpen and asked Emily to go with him to that office. She was listening to watch he was telling her.

"You think she went to this doctor to get pregnant?"

"It would appear so."

"so Derek was right, the baby isn't his."

"That is what we are about to find out."

They entered the office and flashed their badges. The nurse behind the counter looked at them with wide eyes.

"I have a few questions to ask you." She nodded. "Is this woman a patient here?" They showed her a picture of Savannah.

"Yes I remember her. What was her name?" she thought about it for a minute. "Oh yes her name is Melanie Holbrook. I remember her because she had suffered a tragedy with loss of her husband."

"Is the doctor here? I need to speak to him."

Emily looked around while the nurse went to inform the doctor that the FBI was there. She came back a with who they assume is the doctor. They asked if there was somewhere they could talk. He took them to his office.

"What is this pertaining to?"

"You have a patient by the name of Melanie Holbrook."

He typed the name into the computer. He gazed up at them. "I do but I can't tell you anything, patient/doctor confidentiality."

"Melanie Holbrook isn't her real name and I know she was a patient here because of the payment that came out of her account. It all traces back to this clinic. Now either tell me what I want to know or I can have the police here in about five minutes with a warrant." Aaron said.

She came in here about a year ago, saying that she wanted to have a baby. She explained that her husband had been ill. She said before he received treatment that they had some of his sperm frozen and she was ready to use it. I explained the procedure and what all she would have to do. She knew most of it since she was a doctor herself. She started getting her body ready for the procedure."

"How long does that take?"

"A couple of weeks to a month." She said. "When she was ready, she brought in the frozen sperm and completed the procedure. She was one of the lucky ones. I implanted three eggs and only one took on the first try. After sending her medical records to her doctor I never saw her again."

"Is it typical for you not to see your patients after the invtro works?" Emily asked.

"I help them get pregnant by invitro. Once they are pregnant they see an ob."

"Thank you for your time."

Aaron and Emily went back to the SUV. "Well that explains that. She used a sperm donor to get pregnant."

"At least Derek will breathe a little bit easier when he finds out he isn't the father of the baby." Emily said.

"if she lied about that, then what else is she lying about."

Savannah picked up the burner phone and dialed. On the third ring, it was answered.

"Hello."

"It's me Melanie."

"Do you have him?"

"Yes. He'll be ready for you to pick up in two days. Meet me at the place we agreed to."

"Are you sure his mother isn't going to change her mind?"

"No. She couldn't take care of him anymore and wanted me to find him a good family."

"Do I need to bring anything with me?"

"He has a car seat, so no." she said. "I will text you the day we are to meet."

"Ok."

Savannah hung up and laughed. She dialed another number. This one took longer to answer. As soon as they did she heard the crying.

"What is going on?"

"All this damn kid does is cry. He barely eats. He's only quiet when he falls asleep. We are lucky that there are not any neighbors that live close by."

"You only have to hide him for two more days and then he will be gone."

"You know they are looking for him."

"I know. I just have to get him to his new family and then he will be gone and they will never find him."

"I hope you know what you are doing."

"I do."

She hung up the phone and stretched. She smiled and thought about Derek. It won't be long now before you come back to us. You won't have your precious son keeping you away any longer.. He'll be long gone. It's just a matter of time.
