Complications

A/n: I'm sorry for taking such a long time to update this story, but I've been at college and haven't had a lot of time to work on my stories. I plan to try and update this story regularly.

(OvO)

I follow Ryuu to the waiting car. I feel nervousness in the pit of my stomach as I climb into the passenger seat while Ryuu walks in front of the car and climbs into the driver's seat. The drive shouldn't take too long and hopefully it won't take too long at the hospital. I don't want to miss school and the thought of missing the Host Club makes me uneasy. I know how the guys are and they are likely to come looking for me at some point. I just hope they don't, the scene at my fathers place would cause them to become concerned. Maybe I should transfer after all..

The drive is silent for the most part and I can't help but to mess with sling the Fuyumi-san gave me. The pain in my hand is almost unbearable now, even though yesterday I could hardly feel it. But then again they were swollen badly, and although the swelling went down some during the night they are throbbing rather intensely now. I really wish that I hadn't slammed my hand down onto the table this morning. I look down at my injured hand and lightly touch the inflamed skin around my knuckles; it looks like they have become sunken.

I sigh softly and look at myself in the side mirror; even with my mask in place it is clearly noticeable that I have seen better days. My lower lip is split and swollen, my right eye has a deep purple bruise under it and my jaw on the left side is bruised as well. My back and legs hurt from sitting against the seats and every breath that I take sends a sharp pain across my chest. I looked this morning and saw that my stomach was bruised as well as my torso.

I look over at Ryuu as we come to a stop at a red light; he looks focused on the road and doesn't glance over at me. I look away feeling a sense of relief.

"Haruhi, there are still things that we need to discuss."

"Can't it wait?" I say not looking over at him.

"I'm afraid not. I'm not sure when we will be able to be alone like this again."

I sigh softly and look over at him. "What do we need to talk about?"

"What are you going to do about those men in the Host Club?"

"What do you mean?"

"Those in the Host club are infatuated with you. Almost all the members see you in a romantic sense, and I'm telling you now that I won't share you with them."

I close my eyes and rub the bridge of my nose. "I don't know what you are talking about." I knew this was a lie, but he doesn't need to know about my relations with my friends.

"Don't lie to my face Haruhi, or at least put some effort into it."

I grind my teeth in annoyance and look over at him. "You don't have to worry about sharing me with anyone, Ryuu. We have an agreement."

Ryuu chuckled at that. "Not even with my brother?"

I run my uninjured hand through my hair as I look away. "Not even with him."

"You know how he feels about you. Surely you don't expect him to not act on it."

"He won't force me into anything."

"No, but he won't let it drop either; you know that as well as I do."

"I know Ryuu, but I won't hurt him."

"You're worried about hurting him? He left you with your father, he never gave you any word that he was alright nor did he make sure that your father was in a state to take care of you."

I look over sharply at him and narrow my eyes. "Well, where were you?"

Guilt showed on his features as he pulled into the hospital parking lot. "I tried to help; but Father insisted that I keep my distance from you. I tried watched over you though."

"Well you did a great job." I rolled my eyes and got out of the car; I slammed the door behind me and started to walk towards the entrance of the hospital. I felt him grab my wrist and pull me to a stop. I tried to pull free but he only gripped it tighter.

"Stop, Haruhi. I tried to help; I wanted to get you out of there the moment I found out that he took you back."

I spun and glared at him. "Don't lie to me Ryuu; the only reason that you would have for wanting to get me back would be so you wouldn't lose your precious pet."

Ryuu's eyes darkened and he tightened his grip on me before pulling me to him; his voice was cold and hard. "Haruhi, you would have to be stupid to think that you were the only pet that I've had. There were others after you." His grip tightened to be almost painful, and I let out a hiss of pain. "Of course I still wanted you but that didn't stop me from having others please me. I wanted you out of that shit hole." His voice dropped even lower as he leaned down and whispered into my ear. "Because, if anyone was going to cause you pain it was going to be me." He let me go and started walking towards the hospital, I followed behind him slowly.

We entered the hospital together and I made my way to the front desk. "Excuse me, Ma'am; I need to see a doctor."

"Of course, Miss. What's the problem?" She looked over my appearance and frowned. I sighed softly and looked down; this was the part that I wasn't looking forward to.

"I tripped and fell down the steps this morning, I'm pretty sure that my knuckles are injured but I'm not sure what else."

"What's your name, Miss?"

"Haruhi Fujioka."

"You'll be called back shortly, please take a seat and wait."

"Thank you, Ma'am." I bowed and went and took a seat, Ryuu sat down beside me and we waited in an uneasy silence.

Kyoya was eating lunch with the rest of the Hosts when he felt his phone go off. He looked at the number before excusing himself and leaving the table.

"I wonder who that is." Tamaki asked out loud.

Mori shrugged while Hani shoveled more cake into his mouth. Tamaki sighed and looked towards the door to the cafeteria just as the twins were walking in.

"Hey, Boss, have you seen Haruhi? She wasn't in class today."

"Maybe she's sick again." Hani piped in.

"I don't know, this is the fourth time this month that she's missed class." Kaoru said softly.

Kyoya came over to the table soon after and gathered up his bag. "I'll see you guys later, something came up that I have to check into."

"But aren't you coming to the Host Club?" Tamaki cried.

"Not today, I have to go."

"Well, that's odd." Hikaru said looking over at his twin, who nodded his head in agreement.

Kyoya called his driver on the way to the front of the school asking him if he would pick him up. He sighed and walked faster.

"What's going on Haruhi?" he said with a sigh as he climbed into the back of the car.

"Miss Fujioka? The doctor will see you now."

I looked up in surprise as my name was called rather fast, I looked around before getting up and going over to where the nurse stood waiting. I followed her down the hall and into an examination room. She took my temperature, my heart rate and my blood pressure.

She smiled at me as she handed me a hospital gown. "Please change into this and sit on the table, the doctor will be here shortly."

I nod as she makes her way over to the door; she closes it behind her when she leaves. I sigh softly and begin the long process of disrobing. I slowly take off my sling and lay it onto of one of the chairs in the room. I work on taking my shirt off before giving up and moving towards the door and going to the nurses' station.

"Ma'am, I'm sorry to be a bother but; is it possible for the man who came with me to join me?"

The woman behind the desk laughed softly. "Of course, Miss Fujioka; if you would like I can go get him."

I feel my cheeks flush as I nod my head. I wait for her to get up before I go back to the room. I sit on one of the chairs while I wait for Ryuu to be brought to the room. I hear a knock on the door and I get up and open it slowly.

Ryuu is standing there with an amused expression as I open the door. I can't help but to glare at him as I move aside to let him into the room.

"Do you need help?" He raises an eyebrow at me. "Or did you just miss me?"

I roll my eyes in response. "I just need your help."

"What do you need help with?"

"I can't get undressed on my own, I'm not even sure how I managed to in the first place."

He smirked and moved behind me, he lightly ran his fingers down my side before moving them under my shirt and slowly lifting it upwards. "Raise your arms." He pulled off my shirt, and once I lowered my arms again he moved to unhook my bra. I can't help but to cover my breast as he does so. His eyes skim the damage done to her back as he gently runs his fingers over the scars. I sigh softly as Ryuu moves in front of me to undo my jeans. He leans down as I lifted my feet and kick off my shoes. He pulls the ban of my pants down slowly and over my hips and down my legs, I lift my feet one at a time again so that he can pull my jeans off my legs. He looks up at me before he stands back up. I watch as he folds my clothes and puts them on one of the chairs in the room.

"Are you okay?"

I nod and pull the gown on. "Thanks for helping, could you leave again? I don't want the doctor to think that you did this to me."

"What are you going to say? He won't buy you saying that you fell down the stairs."

I bite my lip and wince slightly as my teeth catch the damaged skin on my lip. "I'm not sure, I'll probably tell them the truth or close to it. I'll figure it out."

He narrowed his eyes before shaking his head. "As you wish, I'll be outside waiting for you."

"Alright, thanks."

I watch him leave before climbing up on the examination table. I sigh and lay back as I wait for the doctor to come in. I really hope it's not an Ootori this time.

The doctor comes in not too long after I laid down. She came in and I watched as her eyes scanned my face. She frowned and grabbed the rolling chair and pulled it in front of the examination table.

"Hello Ms. Fujioka, I'm and I'll be taking care of you today. Can you tell me what the problem is?"

And so I told her, I told her about my hand, my back, ribs and stomach. She asked me how I got the injuries and I told her I got them from being mugged. She asked me if I wanted to contact the police, I told her no. She sent me to get x-rays of my hand and my torso.

Now I'm back in the examination room waiting for the results.

….

I wait for ten minutes before I hear the commotion out in the hall. Curious I get up and move closer to the door.

"Mr. Ootori you can't go in there!"

"Move out of the way, or today will be your last day employed here."

I feel my heart sink a little. I'm not ready to face him. Not after what happened at the apartment and during the ride home from the beach. I tense up as I hear footstep approach the door.

A/N: Sorry it has taken so long to update this story. I've been busy with college and to be honest I kinda of lost my plot bunny. Rest assured though I really caught it. Please see chapter 8 before reading this chapter as it has been changed a bit. As for you, my faithful readers, I thank you for sticking with me. This chapter was for you guys.
