A/N: Okay, sorry this is in the beginning, but I want to apologize in advance if this chapter and maybe the next one aren't the best. I'm trying to get back into the rhythm of writing this story. But as always, thank you guys so much for reading.

Cath paced back and forth across her bedroom floor, between Wren's bed and her own. She was so confused. What was wrong with Levi? Did he just miss her? No, if he missed her wouldn't he have wanted to talk on the phone longer. Was there a problem at home? Or on his way home? Was it because she told him about Abel?

She stared at her phone for a few more minutes. Was she expecting him to call her with an explanation? She didn't know what she was expecting. She was worried but she didn't know what she could do. Maybe she should go to bed and hope it was okay in the morning.

Just then her dad called from the bottom of the stairs, "Cath, dinner." Probably burritos from the taco truck.

Cath walked downstairs. She walked into the kitchen and sat at the table next to Wren. Their dad was standing at the counter tossing some things in a bowl. Salad? Then he opened the oven and pulled out a lasagna. A real, homemade lasagna, with real lasagna noodles, not spaghetti.

"When in the world did you learn to cook?" Wren asked, shocked. She'd been home every weekend this semester, Cath figured she would have known about something like this.

"Yesterday, the day before," their dad said, "this past week really. Your grandmother taught me, I wanted it to be a surprise for when you girls came home, that you don't need to take care of me anymore."

"Are you kicking us out?" Cath teased him. She knew he'd never do that, but it was still funny to watch him joke along with her when he said, "Oh yeah, you're way too old to be living at home. I know you just brought all of your stuff home, but at least you don't have to pack it!" Cath's brain automatically thought good point, even though she knew she wasn't going anywhere, and neither was Wren.

It was a nice night, the three of them eating together. Cath didn't know what went on with Wren and her dad earlier in the day, but the tension seemed to be gone by now. Their dad told them all about the new companies his company was trying to get, including Charles''Roni and Cheese and the Paper Master's Printing. The girls told him about finals and he was glad to hear that, despite everything that had happened last semester, it looked like they would be keeping their scholarships.

After dinner Cath and Wren loaded the dishwasher while their dad put the leftovers in the fridge. Cath was so surprised, and definitely happy, that her dad was doing so well. After the dishes were done, Wren went upstairs to call Jandro and Cath took a shower. She was trying so hard to keep Levi off her mind.

When Cath was done with her shower, she went upstairs and sat on her bed. Wren was already asleep. Cath checked her phone. She has two missed calls and three texts. One text from Reagan read, very funny, im not that mean..maybe. dont worry, ill be there next year ;). Maybe she didn't hate winky faces, interesting. The calls were from a number Cath didn't know, with the same area code as Levi's number, and the texts were from him. Oh no.

Cather im sorry im calling you from my house phone bcause my phone is almost dead i need you to answer
hello Cather? im coming to your house so dont go to bed yet okay im sorry ill see you soon

Cath started to panick. She had no idea what was going on and he didn't leave her a voicemail. She walked downstairs trying to look as calm as possible. What could have gone wrong? What was wrong with Levi? Why didn't he just tell her earlier?

She walked into the living room, her dad was watching TV. An impressive change from when he used to ramble around and tape ideas to the wall. He looked at her and smiled. "I'm gonna go sit on the porch for a bit," she told him and walked out the front door.

Cath took out her phone and checked the time. 8:27. Levi had sent her those messages just after six o'clock, so he probably wasn't too far away. Maybe he was driving slow. Maybe he was driving fast. She didn't know how to feel. About anything. She checked her phone again. She opened her recent calls and saved the number that had called her, Levi's House :).

It was much darker now, an hour had passed since she'd come outside. Cath leaned against the house and started to doze off. She jolted awake when she heard someone pull in the driveway. She checked her phone, 9:40. She got up and was met at the stairs by a fast-moving Levi who hugged her, lifting her off the stairs and into his arms.

"Levi, is something wrong? What happened? Why are you here?" He held her tight, not answering her questions, so she let herself fall into him. "I miss you," she whispered into his ear, so quiet she couldn't even hear it.

"I miss you too," he finally answered. His voice was steady, but there still seemed to be something wrong. "Um…" He put her down and sat on the stairs, pulling her down next to him. "My family wants to meet you. They were upset that I didn't bring you home with me."

Cath could feel her face flush. "Levi…" she pause, "is that what this is about?!" She stood up in front of him. "I thought something was wrong. I thought you got your arm chopped off or crashed on the highway or… I don't know, something!" She was almost yelling. He was staring at her so she sat back down and laid her head against his arm. "Levi, I would love to meet your family."

A/N: So, I realized that I've spent the last three, now four chapters describing one day. So I apologize for that, but I'll get it moving I promise. Should I include Carry On stuff in this or should I leave it out? If anyone thinks I should add it in, please PM me, I'm not really sure how to write it. But otherwise, the next chapter will be up soon and it will not consist of the same day. As always, thank you for reading. xox
