Hello Everyone. I'm very sorry about the delay. I've been busy and well, I'm in the middle of a move and I haven't had much time for anything. I'm going to be completely honest with you, I have been doing my best to not think about anything and the easiest way for me to do that was to just play games. I'm sorry to have let you down and I won't make any promises to you about the story, just that it will not be abandoned. I will finish it. I Don't know when the next chapter will be out but in the meantime... Enjoy!

...

Karkat groaned. He hated it on the ship. There was almost never a chance to be alone with Gamzee. And even when there was, they had to be careful. Any clue as to his blood color and Karkat would be culled on the spot. Mutants were not allowed to live.

"Stupid fucking ship. Why couldn't we stay on the planet." He growled. He knew full well why they couldn't though. Gamzee had been ordered. A direct disregard of an order would be considered abandonment of his post which is punishable by death. It didn't stop Karkat from hating it though.

He rolled off the bed. He hadn't been required to get a job yet because he was Gamzee's partner. Partners of High ranking officers weren't required to work. Most would count it a blessing and Karkat sort of did. It did help him hide his blood color. But did it have to be so damn boring.

Karkat went tot he dresser and pulled out clothes to wear. He supposed since it was past noon on ship time, he might as well get dressed. He pulled on his approved casual wear and slipped on his approved casual shoes. He went out the door and looked both ways. The hallway was empty as always at this time of the day. He headed down towards the elevator capsule that would take him to the partners' cafeteria. It should be relatively empty now as this was normally the time where all the partners of the officers went to the rec rooms.

Much to Karkat's dismay, he wouldn't have the cafeteria to himself. He went in and got his food, taking to a table on the far side of the room. He ignored the others as they ate and joked, apparently deciding to forgo the rec room today. Karkat sighed, and went to get a drink. He was halfway back to the table when he felt a sharp pain in his palm and dropped the drink, glass shattering at his feet.

Karkat stood in shock, looking at his hand, his bright red blood welling up in his palm from the cut the glass had given him as it fell. His heart sunk and he freaked out. The table had stopped talking now and was staring at Karkat. He ran, He ran faster than he thought he ever would. He flew into the elevator and jammed the button for his floor with his non bloody hand. When the elevator doors opened he ran full speed through them and into someone.

"Hey motherfucker?! What's the rush?" Gamzee asked, stumbling back a couple of steps. Karkat looked up at him wild eyed. Gamzee's eyes came to rest on Karkat's hand pressed to his shirt, he blood soaking in. "In the room. Now." Gamzee said, his face growing serious instantly. Once they were in the room safely Gamzee turned to him.

"Who saw?" He demanded.

"I don't know... I was in the cafeteria, the other partners were there..." Karkat felt the tears welling up.

"Come." Gamzee guided him to the bathroom. He turned on the sink and began washing Karkat's hand gently, cleaning the wound. The two stood in silence, Gamzee cleaning Karkat's wound and tending to it.

"We're gonna have to leave motherfucker..." Gamzee said, not turning around, focusing on Karkat's hand.

"I know." Karkat sighed, watching Gamzee wrap his hand in bandages. "I'm sorry Gam..."

"Motherfucker..." Gamzee pulled Karkat into a hug. "It was bound to happen sooner or later. Come on. Start packing. Only what you need. One bag. We have to go now."

Karkat nodded and went to the next room and grabbed new clothes, getting changed. He grabbed the only thing he could think of that he needed. It was a picture of him and Gamzee the first morning in their house on the planet. He pushed it into his pocket. He looked at Gamzee and nodded.

"I'm ready."

He was not.
