I know this is a short chapter but it's helping to set up the big storyline here. I hope it is enjoyable. To be honest, I'm keeping notes on the story so I can keep it straight and don't have to write it all at once. I may keep writing today but here is this little teaser. Anywho... Enjoy!

...
A chime rang through the room. The stirring troll grumbled as he reached for the phone at his bedside table. He looked at the message.
CT: D- The time is approaching
CT: D- Will you be ready?
TA: ii wa2 ready a whiile ago. What2 the new2?
CT: D- The calvary are making their move.
TA: About fuckiing tiime.
CT: D- I take e%eption to such 100d language.
TA: ju2t keep me po2ted.
The troll shut off the phone and thanked some entity somewhere that the line they were using to communicate was private. It still made him nervous. If they got caught, death would be a gift. He lay back in the bed. Irons were in the fire now. Things were in motion. Things that would hopefully mean the end of an era.
…...
Jane tapped her foot, this beat down house was not the place she would normally spend time, but it was the most discrete location they had to meet. She sighed then tensed as she heard rustling nearby. A troll moved into the in through the open doorway.
"Nepeta."
"Jane," the troll nodded at her. "I don't have anything new. The base is still preparing for the bombing."
"I know, but I have something to tell you." Jane stood up from the wall she was leaning against and walked over to Nepeta. "Dirk doesn't want me telling you this but, the attack is scheduled in the next two days. I wanted to warn you so you can get out with enough time."
"How did you fast track the attack that much?" Nepeta, who had grown to be very suspicious of everyone since she joined this movement. Somehow she trusted this girl.
"We had a troll practically walk into our laps."
"A troll? Who is it?" She tensed again, it could be a spy. "No mention was made of me?"
"No. Myself and Dirk are the only ones who know about you. And they say his name was something like Karkat."
Nepeta's eyes went wide. "You found Karkitty?"
"You know him." Jane looked her over.
"We were friends when we were young... I haven't seen him in sweeps..."
"What do you know about him?" Jane inquired, eager to learn more about this troll.
"You can trust him. He has more reason to take down the empire than anyone." Nepetea smiled. Karkat was alive still. After Gamzee, he'd just... disappeared. This was a good turn of events. But things still needed to be handled first... "I can't leave until the morning of the attack. It would draw suspicion I think. Two days you said?"
"Yes." Jane nodded.
"I'll meet you here in two days."
"Nepeta, about... about that thing I asked about..."
"I'm trying Jane... but the trolls don't keep records of the slaves' names from before... I'm trying to find her for you."
"Thanks... just... Thanks."
"I'll see you in two days."
"yeah..."
"Jane, if she's out there, you'll find her."
"I hope so..." Jane sighed as Nepeta left the house. 'I miss you roxy... please be safe...'
