Fight for Love!

20th Fight: Yuu Tobita

A week had gone by smoothly, yet not as smooth and interesting as I had wanted it to be. I had become a centre of attraction whenever I stepped into the campus because of the stupid photo on the internet. Whoever uploaded it sure was cunning, even Hotaru couldn't find the culprit. Whenever I was surrounded with students trying to ask me questions about the photo, Ruka would be the one coming to my rescue and defending the both of us by explaining the whole situation to those nosy people. Whether they believed it or not, we were nevertheless bombarded with many odd questions every single day. I would also receive angry stares and even stares of admiration or sadness from Ruka's fans.

Next, I had failed my mission to find out more about the anonymous person from the Taekwondo club of another school. He was anonymous, no picture or anything, so how was I going to find out who he was? Shizune and Misaki should do something about it instead of scolding me about my failure.

Worst of all, Natsume knew about the photo somehow and to fulfill my request from the week before, he ignored me. We would meet each other along the hallway but he would just walk past me without saying a word. Although I knew I was asking for it, it just felt not right at all. I wondered why.

"No, Mikan, don't even think about him," I would usually mutter softly to myself whenever I saw him, and then nod at my own statement with satisfaction.

The Taekwondo tournament was drawing nearer and nearer at each passing day, yet Special Club was not fully ready for it. I still did my part in spying on the Taekwondo Club once in awhile but according to Misaki, I must find the mysterious nameless guy whom I supposed to spy on by any means possible before the tournament.

So, there I was standing in front of the famous boys' school -Seika Academy- with a piece of paper scribbled with Nobara's handwriting. Written on the paper, I was supposed to hunt for that boy in Seika Academy even though there was no description about his looks. Many pairs of curious eyes were fixated at me as if I was an alien. Well, of course, I am a girl so it was obviously weird for me to appear in front of the gates of a boys' school.

Clutching the paper in fear, I took one step forward and looked around me. Good, no one stopped me. I took another step and the other until I stepped inside the campus. Wow! Seriously? The boys didn't stop me at all!

Just when I thought this was a perfect chance to dash into the school building, something brushed against my arm and before I knew it, I was pulled backwards. I yelped in horror as my mind was trying to formulate excuses for being here and plans for my escape.

Amidst the struggle, something warm brushed against my neck while a whispering voice was heard next to my ear, "Shhhh..."

Feeling even more horrified, I screamed louder. However, a hand covered my mouth and I was dragged behind the bushes. Finally, the hand was removed from my mouth and a familiar looking bespectacled boy came into my view.

"Hey girl, what are you doing here?" he whispered in a rather harsh but worried tone.

"Who are... Oh!" I gasped and covered my gaping mouth in realisation. "You're that boy who saved me from that incoming car!"

The bespectacled boy stared blankly at me for a second and then placed his finger over his lips, signaling me to keep quiet.

After he had found out that nobody was looking at our direction, he gave me an innocent smile and started, "I'm Yuu Tobita. What brings you here to a boys' school?"

"Oh, so you can recognise me? Thanks a lot for saving me, Tobita-san! By the way, I'm Mikan Yukihira." I grabbed my saviour's hand and shook it excitedly. "I'd be glad if you show me the way to the Taekwondo Club of your school."

Yuu furrowed his eyebrows and asked, "Do you have any business with that club?"

"Eh? I mean..."

I froze. Argh! Me and my big mouth! I'm so bad at spying! If Special Club knew that I nearly failed my role, I bet those people would call me to die honourably by committing seppaku.

"I've come here... to see my friend," I lied. "He told me to witness his Taekwondo moves and comment on them."

"I see," he muttered with a questioning look. "Who's he then?"

I mentally scolded myself again for telling such an obvious lie. What if Yuu found out about my lies straight away? I was a bad liar. Everyone in Special Club knew it and always poked fun about it.

Clearing my throat, I put on a confident look and played along with my own lies, "Do you want to know?"

When I said that, his innocent eyes narrowed at me, clearly showing his doubts but I did not bother much about it. As long as I could accomplish this task, I could concentrate on getting my coloured belt soon.

"Well, I'm not interested to know who has invited you here but all I can say that you've entered into a place where girls shouldn't be roaming around," Yuu said and hung his head low with a sigh. "What can I say to a girl who don't even have a sense of... what do you call that? Self-conciousness? Well, whatever you call it, boys are everywhere so it is better to be careful here."

Yup, I knew there was a whole bunch of boys roaming around in this school but there was nothing to be worried about since I had learnt something in Taekwondo. And hey, I even stopped Luna's attack once before!

"Don't worry too much either. I'll take you to the club."

My eyes sparkled with glee but I quickly regained my composure and thanked him for offering me his help. We came out of the bush and he led me into the huge school building. No one would believe me if I described the building. It was huge and grand. Whoever designed this building must have envisioned a castle from Rome. Both the exterior and interior walls were well-polished, so was the floor. In order to maintain such well-polished walls and floor, the school principal must have spent a lot of money. Wow... the students had to be from rich families too. I mean, where did the school get these funds from? Obviously, from the students' families, right?

Yuu led me to the gymnasium. No, not gymnasium. It was way bigger than the gymnasium in my school. It was more like...

"This is our indoor sports stadium. The first air-conditioned sports stadium ever built in school," Yuu said with a big smile.

Wow... an air-conditioned sports stadium, I mused. I knew these kids here were from rich families. Definitely were!

Yuu pushed open the door and I could feel a gush of cold air brushed across my face. I walked in and was still deeply fascinated by how big the stadium was. And what surprised me was everywhere was filled with boys in white robes...

"There are lots of members as you can see."

"I know." I turned around and looked sheepishly at Yuu.

"Just tell me your friend's name and I will help you find him."

"No, it's okay." I knew Yuu would probably not know anyone in Taekwondo Club so what was there to tell him even if I knew who I was looking for. "I can see him from here."

I pretended to look far and pointed at some random guy at the far end of the stadium.

"Your friend is..." Yuu dragged as he squinted his eyes, looking at the direction where I pointed at. "Yamai-san?"

"Eh?"

"Oh, I see. Yamai-san is your friend!" Yuu laughed and adjusted his spectacles. "He's my junior and I think he has improve a lot ever since he first joined the club."

What?

Yuu grinned from ear to ear, looking so happy probably about Yamai-san's achievement. Wait... Did Yuu personally know that guy or... he already knew the people here?

"Err... nope. Not that person," I mumbled and bit my lips anxiously.

"Huh? Then, is it Hotori-san?" Yuu pointed at another guy standng next to Yamai.

"You... kno... know him?" my voice cracked.

"Yeah. He's my junior too. But wow, you really know Hotori-san? He can do triple flying kicks simultaneously in the air. I like his style!"

I gulped. Should I say no again?

Maybe I should...

"Inchou!" someone shouted and his voice echoed loudly in the stadium.

Yuu turned to look at person, who had just shouted, and waved. Well, Yuu did have that 'inchou' vibe around him. Without thinking, I turned to look at the direction where Yuu was staring and what shocked me most was not the fact that all the boys in the stadium were charging straight towards us, but was...

"Inchou! Let's duel now!"

"Inchou, is that your girlfriend?"

"Girlfriend? Is she a Third Degree like you?"

"I'm all ready now, Tobita-inchou! Fight me!"

"I heard that Tsubasa Andou and that Koko monster are taking part in the tournament. You've beaten them before, right?"

... the realisation that Yuu Tobita wasn't a normal four-eyed innocent kid after all.

Brief preview of the next chapter:

Someone... please tell me why Tsubasa, Koko and Kitsuneme were here in Seika Academy?!

"Natsume Hyuuga and Ruka Nogi are going to take part in the tournament."

"What about you, Andou-san?"

"Of course. We will kick your ass, Kitsuneme-san."

"Haha! Don't be so confident, Tsubasa Andou. Beating you, Hyuuga and Nogi is a piece of cake." I could hear Koko's evil laughter echo.

"You're the one talking big, Kokoro Yome."

"I'm called Koko monster for a reason."

"Erm... what are you guys doing here?" Yuu's voice sounded tired and weak.

But, yes! Do something about those guys, Yuu!

"Ohh... Sorry that we've forgotten about you, Tobita-san. Actually..."

Tsubasa's voice lowered. I pressed my ear against the door and listened hard at their conversation.

"We're here to come out a plan with you... to win others and face one another in the semi-finals."

"Ah..." Yuu sounded hesitant for a moment but soon laughed at his statement. "Sure. I don't mind."

Misaki must have known that the boys were gathering here so that was probably why I was told to come here to spy. For some reason, I had a hunch that one of these four boys was the one I was looking for.

Anyway, please don't forget to review this chapter and tell me how it is! Thanks! :D
