A/N: I apologize for the three month wait for this, I only hope you're not too upset over a mini-chapter instead of a longer one (which is coming on 6/28). All I can say is real life is a buzzkill and I have attention-deficit-writing-disorder where I tend to hop from project to project quite a bit. Sorry, I know it's really frustrating.

Don't You Wanna Stay?

Chapter 13.5

A high-pitched shriek drew the vampires from their day rest early. For a pair of vampires as old as they are, they both often rise early as they've little need for sleep. From two opposite sides of the house they raced with their heightened speed to the French doors that were opened out into the spacious outside living area of Eric's newest home.

Carefully avoiding the sunlight coming in through the opened doors, it took the ancient vampires several moments to register what they were seeing.

Instead of the threat they thought had invaded their now-joint territory, they found both their lovely mates outside and playing in the spacious in-ground heated pool Eric had pointed out to much interest the previous night after they arrived.

Or more precisely Sookie was playing in the pool while being dive-bombed from above by a flying Seren armed with some sort of water pistol.

It was one of the more innocently happy and ridiculous things either ancient has ever seen at their homes.

Especially when you count in the fact that the flying – and manically laughing - seraph was older than both vampires combined and operated as both a public figure and as an assassin-for-hire.

"Seren stop!" Sookie shrieked again as the brunette unleashed another onslaught of water onto the blonde's head.

Both vampires took a moment to appreciate what passes for swimwear in this modern time is doing for their females. Sookie with her blood-red bikini and Seren in a royal-blue barely-there one-piece that was hardly more modest than her charge's ensemble.

"Take it back!" Seren ordered laughing, her spirits still riding high from completing the bond with her vampire and the current calm before the storm of the Angelics outing themselves. "Take it back and I'll stop!"

"Fine, fine!" Sookie laughed helplessly. One little comment… Some people can be too high-strung for their own good. "Your Uncle Zach isn't the hottest thing I've ever seen."

Eric arched a brow over that patently-insincere retraction.

"Hmm, my child." Godric took the opportunity to tease both vampire and Fae, speaking loudly and causing the swimming blonde's head to crack around towards the watching vampires. "Methinks you have some competition."

His child just growled eyes narrowing on the tempting but out-of-reach Fae as her eyes widened in shock and dismay at being overheard.

Grinning wickedly at the males, Seren laughed as she landed before reassuring her mate's child.

"Don't worry, Eric." Her black opal eyes gleamed up at him as she opened her wings wide, nearly preening under her mate's heating gaze. "It's just standard wing-envy. In a few days – or once you've rocked her world – she'll get over it and will go back to thinking you're the hottest male in existence."

Eric nearly bared a fang at the continued teasing as his Sookie peeked repentantly around her guardian's wings.

"I was just teasin' Seren because of her uncles gettin' named two of the 'hottest and most eligible bachelors of the Supernatural world' today on the tv." The blonde explained quietly.

"Really?" Eric arched a brow. "They've made a new list already?"

The idiocy of humans. Don't worry about the socio-political ramifications of the Angelics, no. Make up a new "who's hottest" list instead.

"Yep." Seren rolled her eyes as she moved inside to snuggle with her mate, giving him a soft kiss in greeting. "Angelics and vampires. My Uncles are at the top, naturally, along with a pack of the more well-known vampires. Including Eric."

At that the Viking nearly spluttered. "What?"

Sookie laughed moving to stand before him as she explained.

"You're number four after Seren's Uncles and a really pretty English vamp named Alec."

Eric rolled his eyes at that. The knight is going to be impossible to live with now, regardless of the fact that he's been friends with Godric and himself for seven centuries.

"You were on it too, love." Seren laughed at the flabbergasted expression on her mate's face. "Number Eight."

"How are they getting this information?" Godric demanded. He rarely went about in public, let alone allowed his picture to be taken for something like this.

His mate snuggled closer into his side as Sookie explained.

"Someone remembered seeing Seren at the filming for my interview, I'm afraid, and put the pieces together. They had some candid shots from taking light readings or whatever of you and Eric and that's what they've been using for both of you."

"And so it begins." Seren said with a sigh, resting her head on Godric's chest as he struggled with whether to be flattered or upset.
