I am back with another update! I am on a roll! Woo! Anyway, please enjoy my latest chapter. I am trying to incorporate some facts into this story just like in TDDW. The facts that I found are from wikipedia.
I do not own anything!
"Hey mom, my friends and I are going to the Magic Kingdom tonight. By any chance you still have our passes, or did you lose them in your messy file cabinet again?" Courtney asked using her Bluetooth to avoid any chance of getting in an accident.
"Hun, I do not keep them in my file cabinet, which by the way is not messy any more. Well, not entirely messy. I have them in an envelope in my purse, safe and sound. When are you coming by to pick them up? I have a meeting in an hour" explained Mrs. Preston.
Mrs. Francesca Preston works for Disney as a financial executive. Her office is on Disney property and like all employees, she and her family receive free admission to the parks. She was given five unlimited passes with all the perks attached when she started working for Disney. Francesca's job was special, not only does she have an office in the executive building; she also has an office in each of the four parks for research purposes. Today, however, she is in the executive building for a very important meeting about recent occurrences in the Magic Kingdom.
"We are on our way now, ooh, I can see the gate now!" exclaimed Courtney.
"Alright, I'll be waiting in the lobby with your passes. See you in a few" Mrs. Preston finished before she hung up.
Courtney turned off her Bluetooth and continued driving forward. After five minutes, she made a turn toward Celebration, a town created and run by Disney. Her mother's office is located in the little town and more than once, her mother talked about moving there. As much as Courtney would love to live on Disney property, she loved her school and her friends even more.
In the early 1990s, the Disney Development Company (DDC) established the Celebration Company to spearhead its development within approximately 4,900 acres (20 km2) of land in the southern portion of the Reedy Creek Improvement District. Total investment for the project is estimated at US$2.5 billion. The master plan was developed by Cooper, Robertson & Partners and Robert A. M. Stern, and the extensive landscape, parks, trails and pathways were designed by the San Francisco firm EDAW (now AECOM). Celebration is planned in an early 20th-century architectural style and is not zoned for high-density residences. Celebration was named the "New Community of the Year" in 2001 by the Urban Land Institute. The first phase of residential development occurred in the summer of 1996 with Celebration Village, West Village and Lake Evalyn; this was followed by the North Village, South Village, East Village and Aquila Reserve and the final Artisan Park phases. Disney CEO Michael Eisner took an especially keen interest in the development of the new town in the early days, encouraging the executives at Disney Development Company to "make history" and develop a town worthy of the Disney brand and legacy that extended to Walt Disney's vision of an Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow (EPCOT). DDC executives collaborated extensively with leaders in education, health and technology in addition to planners and architects to create the vision and operating policies for the town.
"Hey Court, are you still keeping your mom at bay with the whole moving thing?" asked Gwen, not wanting one of her best friends to move away.
"Yeah, she has pretty much given up the whole moving thing. I feel bad though, she has such a long commute and moving would make it so much easier on her. I love her so much and I wish I could give in and do this for her, but I cannot help but be selfish and protest against this. I have been a part of the student government in elementary school, middle school, and now high school. I am a Senior Ambassador girl scout with every medal, award, and honor sans the gold award, which I am working on now. I never think of myself, I have never put myself before others and I especially have never put myself before my family. So, why can't I put my mother's need to move before my own need to stay?" Courtney questioned, in hopes her friends have a logical answer for her.
"It's because you have emotional attachments and those are the hardest to break away from. You have lived in that house, or should I say mansion, your whole life. You have so many good memories in that area and love it there so much that is why it is so hard for you. You love the life you have now and you do not want a new one, especially when you are one year away from graduating high school. I have an idea; why not let your mother and father move to Celebration when you leave for college. You plan to live at Harvard, so it's not going to be as tough because you will not have to transfer to a new school or anything. What do you think?" Bridgette explained in hopes that her solution would help her best friend.
"I have pondered over that before and I do think that it would work. Only one problem, Bridge, I have not been accepted to Harvard yet" Courtney replied while turning into Celebration.
"Girl, we all know that you are going to be living at some Ivy League college once we graduate." Leshawna added with confidence.
"Courtney, isn't your mom's building on that street?" Katie asked, knowing her friend missed the turn.
"Shit, you are right. Okay, U-turn, everyone hold on!" Courtney announced while checking her mirrors. In one smooth move she turned the car around, nearly missing the sidewalk. Then, she quickly turned onto the correct street.
"Ugh, Courtney, please stop doing that. You do realize that you are breaking a law?" Gwen asked while holding down her barf.
"It's not illegal, Gwen. If it was then you know that I would be doing it. I never do anything illegal." Courtney replied, defending herself in the fashion of a lawyer. She parallel parked in front of the building her mother worked in. She got out of the car, walked up to the door, swiped her guest ID, and met her mother in the lobby.
"Hello mother!" Courtney greeted while giving her mother a hug.
Her mother kissed her on the head, reached into her purse, pulled out the passes, and handed them to her daughter.
"The meeting got moved so I have to run. I love you lots and I promise to call you later. Make sure you call your father and let him know your plans for tonight, because I do not have time. Goodbye darling, have a great time tonight and tell the girls that I said hi!" Mrs. Preston replied while fast walking toward the elevator.
"Thanks mom, I will!" Courtney called back as she watched her mom board the elevator. She waved to her mom as the doors closed and headed out the front entrance of the building. As soon as she got back into the car, she handed the passes to Bridgette so that they would not get lost. Then, she started the car and headed straight for the Magic Kingdom.
As soon as they were on the main highway, Courtney grabbed her Bluetooth and called her father. Courtney's father, Mr. Richard Preston is the head of Orlando's top marketing company. He is very strict but that is never a problem since he is always on business trips. Today, however, he is coming home for a little over a week and will leave for New York the following Sunday night. Normally if Courtney is out and her father is coming home, her mother will inform him of her plans for that evening. Today, however, her mother is at a meeting, so Courtney has to call.
"Hello, daddy, I am just letting you know that I am spending tonight with my friends at the Magic Kingdom. I will be home late, but mother should be home on time for your arrival, depending on the length of her meeting."
"Thank you, sweetheart for informing me. The flight from Chicago should take no more than three and a half hours. Do not get home too late, your cousin, Dominica's middle school graduation is tomorrow. I hope you have your dress ready, the ceremony is at ten at Orlando Community College's Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium. That means that we have to leave the house at nine. If we are late, your Aunt Angela and Uncle Ricardo will not be happy" Her father reminded her sternly because family events are very important for the Preston family.
"Father, my dress is on my bed along with my shoes, make-up, and jewelry. Its extra magic hours tonight so I will be home around one thirty depending on traffic. I am a morning person, so there will be no problems in the morning, I promise." Courtney replied she knew her father would not be happy to hear her arrival time, but in any case, her father knows her morning habits well and trusts her fully.
"Okay sweetheart, I have to get on the plane. I love you and I cannot wait to see you and your mother. Have fun tonight!" He finished before hanging up his cell phone. He then boarded the plane with the rest of the first class passengers.
"Hey Court, are you going to park in the Aladdin section of the Heroes Lot like you did the last time?" Katie asked as they entered the Magic Kingdom parking area, located at the Ticket and Transportation Center.
"No, it is more than likely filled by now. The ones closest to the entrance of the parking center are always filled first. However, I will drive through anyway. If the Aladdin section is filled, then I can try the Jafar section in the Villains Lot." Courtney replied as she took out her parking pass and showed to the female Cast Member working the parking booth. The woman handed her back the pass and let her go through to park her Hybrid.
Courtney drove through the Aladdin section and found no available parking spot. She then proceeded to turn into the Woody section and again, found no available spot. As she was about to turn back into the Aladdin section to go to the Jafar section, she saw someone pulling out of the first row of the Peter Pan section. Seizing the opportunity, she grabbed the spot before no one else could take it. After she finished parking, the girls got out and proceeded to head toward the Ticket and Transportation Center so that they could grab either a monorail or a boat, which ever would be available when they got there.
Meanwhile, in the Villains Lot, specifically the Captain Hook section, five male teen have just parked their Camaro. They too are headed for the Ticket and Transportation Center so they can grab either a ferry boat or a monorail. They did not care which, as long as they got into the park as soon as they could.
"Dudes, I am so excited! Who says we fastpass Space Mountain first?" Geoff asked his friends as they ran toward the monorail. Geoff feared that the monorail would leave without them, so off they ran to catch the monorail.
"Nah, I say we fastpass Big Thunder Mountain first." Trent argued, pulling for his favorite attraction while running alongside his friends.
"Well, I like Splash Mountain the best, so I say that we should fastpass that attraction first." DJ argued, although he would be happy with any of the three attractions.
"I say we should ride The Carousel of Progress while we wait for our fastpass time to start." Noah added, panting and sweating hard, hoping he could get his friends to ride his favorite attraction, which obviously, is a non-thrill ride.
"How about we don't do any of that shit and go home" Duncan said, firmly voicing his opinion, which in his perspective, does not count.
"Okay, since I do not want a fight to start in the Happiest Place on Earth, I will go with Geoff. Space Mountain always has the longest wait in the park, even during Extra Magic Hours." DJ said, trying to be a mediator.
"Okay, sure, I will go with that." Agreed Trent, knowing that come Extra Magic Hours he will be able to ride Thunder Mountain with little wait.
"So, since you guys never answered, I guess that is a no to The Carousel of Progress." Noah commented while they boarded the monorail.
"Dude, we thought you were being sarcastic." Geoff replied, while taking his seat in the monorail car and wiping his forehead.
"No, that was one instance where I was not using my sarcasm, as is this."
"Opps, sorry bro, look I know that it is your favorite attraction and all, but we are not fans of that attraction. Maybe I will go on it with you while the others go on Stitch's Great Escape. Sound good?" DJ said, trying to make his good friend feel better about the situation.
"Okay then" Noah said, clearly understanding the situation.
Our five females arrived at the transportation center and found that the Magic Kingdom monorail loop is running slow, so they decided to take the ferry boat, which pulled up as they approached the boarding dock. The girls boarded the boat and within a few minutes, it pulled from the dock and started its voyage across the lake to the Magic Kingdom.
Back to the gents, yes, they are on a monorail, but not the right one.
"Geoff, did the monorail announcer say that we are headed to Epcot?" Noah asked an incredulous yet knowing look plastered on his face.
"Uh…." Was all Geoff could say, as he heard the announcement as well.
"Nice job, genius" Noah commented, sarcasm oozing, his eyes focused on his book.
"Dude, what the ****!" Duncan yelled, infuriated by his friend's stupidity.
"Language, Duncan, start practicing control now because you cannot use language like that in the park" Reprimanded DJ, concerned for his friend.
"Well, we are not in the park! We are the only ones in this monorail car and I will use whatever language I so please! I am not even sure that we will even make it to the park with Major Party Boy Bonehead in charge!" Yelled Duncan seriously pissed off.
"Okay, calm down Duncan, I am upset with Geoff too, but do you hear me yelling?" Trent asked, trying to rationalize the situation and bring peace to the small group.
"Geoff is not to blame. There was an Epcot sign about the monorail station entrance and none of us saw it, so it was not just Geoff, it was all of us." DJ added, taking some of the blame himself.
"Sorry guys" Geoff apologized, rubbing the back of his head "Let's not make me leader ever again!" He added, trying to add some humor.
The rest of the guys started laughing and sooner than they knew, they arrived at Epcot and, of course, they stayed on the monorail for the return trip. It seemed to be a quiet day, because again, they had the car to themselves. None of them talked on the way back and when the monorail finally made its way back to the Ticket and Transportation Center. The five boys then got off and made their way over to the where the correct monorail had just arrived.
Okay, I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter, thanks for reading! This chapter literally flowed from my fingertips and I am hoping the other chapters will too. Thanks again for reading my story! :)
