Hello everyone, this chapter is not as long as I wanted it to be but Microsoft Word is not being nice to me so I decided to upload what I had done. I will have the next chapter completed by the end of the weekend. Please enjoy!
I do not own anything!
"Are we catching the ten o'clock parade or not!?" Courtney asked impatiently as the parade was going to start in a few minutes, and she wanted to be on Main Street when it does.
"Let's see, how about no." Duncan fought back because honestly, he hated the parades.
"Courtney let's go, if the guys do not want to come with us, it's their loss." Bridgette said, trying to calm the waters.
"Wait, dudette, I want to come with you guys." Geoff said, as he was quite fond of the blonde surfer girl.
"Me too, I do not mind parades at all." Trent added, making Gwen blush.
"Eeeeee, Noah, we should so watch the parade together!" Katie suggested, hoping he would agree.
"Let's not" He replied simply, his eyes not leaving his book.
Katie, not accepting no as an answer, grabbed his arm and dragged him through Frontierland and on to Main Street. Duncan, now alone decided to find them, but in the process of doing so, had thought he heard animal noises near the Country Bear Jamboree. He shook it off and proceeded to walk through Liberty Square and up Main Street, where he had found his friends sitting down in front of the fire house waiting for the parade to start.
Ten minutes later, the group was still waiting for the parade to start. Finally, an announcement came on:
"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls; unfortunately due to technical difficulties "Spectromagic!" has been cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that the rest of your day here in the Magic Kingdom will be magical. Thank you."
"I need to call my mother to tell her about this. Never, not once has a parade been cancelled before! Yes, there have been technical difficulties before, but normally the parade is delayed a few minutes and they remove the broken float(s) from the line-up. This is a first for Disney!" Courtney announced, both surprised and outraged, though mostly surprised. She reached into her purse for cell phone, then checked her pockets and found that she did not have it with her. "Drat, I left my phone in the car."
"Gwen and I would lend you one of ours; however, I accidently dropped them in the pool during lifeguard duty yesterday" Bridgette apologized.
"And you still owe me a new one" Gwen reminded her, evidently pissed off.
"Lost mine at Geoff's last killer party, man" Trent interrupted.
"My brother ran over my phone because he claims he "did not see it" as he was pulling into the driveway on his motorcycle" Noah explained.
"My cousin Sadie is borrowing my phone" Katie added.
"Duncan and I had our phones taken away by Principal McClain yesterday" Geoff said with a slight smirk on his face.
Duncan was smirking as well, and then suddenly the pair had burst into laughter.
"I still cannot believe that McClain actually caught us. It took him almost the entire school day to figure out that we were the ones driving the teachers crazy with the animal noises and background music during class" Duncan said in between laughs.
"While you two are laughing over your childish hooligans, I am going to go find a payphone" Courtney said as she walked away followed by Bridgette and Gwen.
Meanwhile in the Utilidors:
"Can anyone tell me what is going on?" A raven-haired cast member asked.
"Sorry, Jazz, I am not allowed to say anything. In fact, I would not even know what to say. All I know is that is that the parade's "technical difficulties" have some relation to what happened last week after closing hours" A middle aged male cast member replied.
"Charlie, this has never happened before. We should not leave the guests hanging like this, let's send out the characters from the parade for meet and greets, I am sure some of the performers still have their costumes on" Jazz whined, hoping she could get her way.
"Well, what do you expect me to do? While your idea of sending out the characters that normally appear in the parade for a meet and greet is logical, we are already sending most of those characters out as a part of extra magic hours anyway. If you have any other ideas, I will hear them out on the way to the float room" Charlie explained.
"Well, we could at least send Mickey out in his parade outfit" Jazz grumbled. "Anyway, I was thinking, since the Electric Water Pageant should be finished by now, I was thinking, since its storage area is connected to the Rivers of America, could the pageant be presented in front of Tom Sawyer Island?" Jazz asked, hoping this idea would work.
"First off, you know that the costumes worn in the light parades are dangerous and easily broken. They are not meant to be used for meet and greets. Second, Jazz, you that I love your imagination but this is not Disneyland. We do not have backstage areas underneath Tom Sawyer Island. Oh, and the water filters are connected, not the storage area. Also, we do not have a way of transporting the pageant through the Utilidors nor a crew quick enough to reassemble it to fit properly in the Rivers of America before the park closes." Charlie corrected, disappointing Jazz greatly.
Jazz had a big heart and an even bigger imagination and though she had only good intentions, she sometimes let her vivid imaginings get the better of her. Charlie, her superior and "papa bear" knows she means well and always listens to her ideas even though he cannot use most of them as they are too outlandish for even Disney's magical staff to make happen.
"Grr, there must be something we can do" Jazz replied, annoyed.
"The best we can do is put on another showing of "Wishes", but I am not sure we can do that. Besides, it's not like the park was paradeless tonight, there was an eight o'clock parade that went down without a hitch. Look, I will try and see if they will put on another showing of "Wishes" and maybe even send the pageant around the Seven Seas Lagoon again. I make no promises, but I will try for you. Now I have to go and you have to get back to work" Charlie promised as he entered the float room, leaving Jazz alone.
Though she knew that Charlie would try, she also knew that if she wanted anything done, she would have to do it herself. Jazz went to the main street firework control center and found exactly who she was looking for: Danny Griffins, one of her friends who happened to be an Imagineer.
"Danny, I have a request from Charlie Rhysler. He came up with a brilliant idea to put on a second firework show to replace the parade. What do you think, can we do it?" Jazz asked, hoping he would say yes.
"Charlie sent you, huh? Wish I could kid, but by the time we got "Wishes" set up again, everyone will be leaving" Danny replied while testing a microphone.
"What about "Fantasy in the Sky", it is not as advanced as "Wishes" is so it will take less time to set up. Carla Gianni from the sound department is always playing the "Fantasy in the Sky" music in her office, so it's not like we have to dig it up or anything. What do you think?" Jazz asked, hopeful.
"Hmm, maybe it could work. There are fewer fireworks involved and not as many launch spots. Tink is still in her costume for wire tests and if you say the music is not in storage, then this might work. Right now, we are looking at a 12:30 show time. Let your friend Carla know the plans and tell Charlie I said thanks" Danny said as he took out his walkie talkie.
Jazz walked as fast as she could through the Utilidors and made her way into the sound department.
"Carla, we are putting on "Fantasy in the Sky" at 12:30, so get the music ready!" Jazz called excitedly before promptly exiting and paging Charlie.
"Come in, Charlie, "Fantasy in the Sky" is a go for midnight. Oh and Danny wanted me to thank you for the idea" Jazz said playfully into the walkie talkie.
"I thought I said I would handle it, but never mind. Did you also tell Danny my idea to send the pageant out again?" Charlie asked, smiling, and shaking his head.
"No, I will do that no-after I tell Debbie Maylor to get back to Space Mountain. A little birdy named Raphael Peterson just told me that he is short staffed again for the third time tonight" Jazz finished, turning off the walkie talkie as she started to make her way towards Tomorrowland.
Back to the teenagers:
"It's eleven now, so that means that we have two hours left until the park closes. We skipped Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin earlier due to the obscene wait. Let's go back now" offered Katie, hoping she made a good suggestion.
"Buzz Lightyear, what fun!" Noah commented, sarcasm oozing.
"You are such a jerk!" Katie yelled at him, hurt by his sarcasm.
"Noah, what is your problem?" Gwen asked, curious.
"I find that ride for me at least is hard to enjoy" Noah answered eyes back on his book.
"He is just not that good at this type of thing. Noah, you know that you do not have to ride it if you do not want to, right?" Geoff asked, making sure his friend knows all of his options.
"Yeah, I know that. However, there is nothing else for me to do, so I will go on it with you guys" Noah replied, closing his book.
"I still do not know how you are so sucky at it as it is just like a video game, and you are phenomenal at video games" Trent commented as they entered Tomorrowland.
"I do not know either, but I guess I will try to imagine I am playing a video game, like I always do" Noah sighed as they entered the attraction's queue.
"What have we not gotten to yet, besides this attraction?" Courtney asked her blonde best friend.
"The only attractions that we have not been on yet are Pirates of the Caribbean, Mad Tea Party, and Dumbo" Bridgette replied, looking at her map full of check marks.
The line moved a little and Courtney replied "I thought we went on Pirates of the Caribbean already, I mean I could have sworn."
"Well, I did not check it off on my map, so obviously we did not" Bridgette said while re-examining her map.
"Bridgette's right, we have been here so many times that your memory is messed up" Gwen said, backing her friend.
"Hmph" was all Courtney said in reply.
After that, the line started moving quicker and before they knew it, they were on and off of the attraction. Noah, surprisingly beat out everyone and Katie came in last. Courtney got second with an unhappy Duncan in third. Bridgette and Geoff shared fourth followed Gwen and Trent who shared fifth.
The group then headed for the Mad Tea Party, which is next on their list. The attraction has a fifteen minute wait, which normally went quicker. Unfortunately, the line is moving slowly and instead of fifteen minutes, it is more like twenty five minutes.
"Just so you ladies know, we are not going on Dumbo" Duncan said, speaking for his friends during the wait to get on Mad Tea Party.
"Dude, you are speaking for yourself because we are going on with the girls" Geoff said, correcting his best friend.
"I am with you Duncan, no stupid flying elephant ride for me" Noah commented, siding with Duncan for once.
"Fine, be that way!" Katie spat, upset again.
"Ignore him Katie, we will ride together" Courtney said, putting her arm over her friend's shoulder.
A few minutes later, they got on the tea cups. Duncan, Bridgette, Geoff, and Courtney shared a green tea cup while Gwen, Trent, Noah, and Katie shared a blue tea cup. Duncan and Geoff spun their tea cup faster than anyone thought tea cups could spin. However Katie and Noah wished that Trent and Gwen would keep their tea cup on the calmer side. They could still spin, but they could not go very fast as both Katie and Noah get extremely sick very easily. Bridgette and Courtney had also asked the guys to go easy, but unlike Gwen and Trent, they obviously did not listen. After the girls got off the tea cups, they hurled for what felt like ten minutes.
"Bridge, are you okay?" Geoff asked, concerned for her.
"Don't you dare speak to me" Bridgette snapped as she and Courtney stormed off toward Dumbo.
Geoff decided it was best to let Bridgette cool off, so he stayed behind with Duncan and Noah.
The three girls and Trent were on and off Dumbo in less than ten minutes, and as they headed for Adventureland, an announcement was broadcasted throughout the park.
"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls: At 12:30 join us in front of Cinderella Castle for a special showing of "Fantasy in the Sky", a firework spectacular. Thank you."
"I guess that is Disney's way of making up for the parade problems" Trent commented at the end of the announcement.
"Well, I certainly want to see it; we should make our way to Main Street now so we can get good spots. Afterwards, we can go to Pirates of the Caribbean" Courtney added, having already started walking towards Main Street.
The group walked through the castle and over to the Tomorrowland Noodle Terrace. A few minutes later, the firework show began and all though it was not as nice as "Wishes" was earlier, it was certainly a great replacement for the parade that never happened. The show lasted fifteen minutes and afterwards, the group wanted to squeeze in one final attraction to end their day.
"Okay people, the park closes in fifteen minutes and the cast members start closing the rides in ten minutes. If we want to make it to Pirates, then we have to move" Courtney informed the group.
"Listen, Princess, I know that you want to go through Adventureland, however, I want to go through Frontierland to…check something out" Duncan said as they started walking.
"Check what out, Duncan?" Courtney asked and it was obvious by the tone that she was still angry at him.
"I uh, thought I heard something when I was walking by the Country Bear Jamboree on my way to meet you guys for the parade that never happened." Duncan replied, trying to direct the group toward the bridge that would take them into Liberty Square.
"What did you hear?" Courtney asked, curious.
"You would not believe me" Duncan simply stated.
"Try me or I will not go your way" Courtney replied sharply.
"A large animal moving around…and do not ask me how I know that sound so well, trust me, you really do not want to know that, Princess" Duncan said as Courtney gave in and they headed into Liberty Square.
"Yeah, I will not ask you about that… and please stop calling me Princess!" Courtney barked.
"Awoo!" The sound of a wailing dog was playing loudly from the Haunted Mansion as they were walking next to the Rivers of America.
Courtney jumped (into Duncan's arms) at the sound, because for one, she hates the Haunted Mansion, and two, that sound effect should not have been there. She was informed by her mother that the sound effect was removed a couple of years ago during the last refurbishment of this attraction. Thus, hearing said dog wail freaked her out immensely. For the second time that night she wished had her phone, for she was certain that her mother would be alarmed by the sudden re-installment of said sound effect.
"It's just that graveyard dog from the Haunted Mansion." Duncan replied, smirking at the scared female in his arms.
"That sound is not supposed to be there anymore. It was removed a couple of years ago." Courtney replied, breathing heavily.
While Courtney was freaking in Duncan's arms, Katie had caught a glimpse of a female figure in the top window of the attraction's facade.
"Let's keep moving, we only have like five minutes to make it to Pirates" Katie reminded everyone, trying to shake off what she had seen.
"You-you're right, let's keep moving" Courtney agreed, still shaking from the unexpected sound effect.
As they walked by the Country Bear Jamboree, Duncan heard the animal noises again. However, he kept it to himself so as to not give Courtney another fright.
"The park closes in less than five minutes; we had better run if we want to make it on to Pirates." Gwen said and everyone sped up.
Two minutes later they had arrived at Pirates, and to their luck it had appeared to be open regardless of the time.
Thanks for reading and please look for the next chapter coming soon! :)
Oh by the way, yes, Danny Griffins is from my other story, "Total Drama Disney World". Jazz is actually a main character in this story, her appreance in "TDDW" was just a cameo as was Danny's apprearance in this story.
