Author's Note: Hi guys, I'm back! I have decided to focus on this story during my Christmas break. I do not love this chapter, but I hope you guys do! More to follow.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything!
The eight teens had found themselves trapped in the Magic Kingdom and had spent the past ten minutes arguing about how to get out. Duncan had claimed that the locks were harder to pick than the one that they previously faced in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" gift shop. Courtney had insisted on waiting for someone (who hopefully knew her mother) to come help them. Geoff had unsuccessfully tried to climb over the gate and Bridgette asked about the Tomorrowland exit, to which Noah told her that it would only bring them back here and would more than likely, also be locked.
Katie mentioned Courtney's emergency utilidor key and such mention earned her a glare and the reply: "This is not the type of emergency mother had intended me to use it for." Trent also thought Courtney's utilidor key would also be a good idea but yet again, said C.I.T would have none of it. Courtney's mother gave her an access key to the backstage areas of Disney so that if anything happened at home and she was working in the parks, Courtney could come find her. Courtney was the only one in the family with an access key, besides her mom, of course. Her father is always traveling and so the key would be almost useless to him. Courtney had no siblings and her relatives lived even further away from the WDW Resort, thus Courtney was given the access key. Courtney never used it before and was not planning to tonight.
Gwen, on the other hand, decided to make a productive decision as she was tired of listening to her friends argue and at that point, wanted nothing more than to be in her nice, warm, and most importantly, dry bed.
"Hey Duncan, try to pick the lock. Who knows, maybe getting out of here is simpler than we think" Gwen encouraged, trying to for once, be the positive member of the group.
"Fine, I will give it a shot. Hey Princess, may I have the bobbi-pin back?" Duncan asked as he began to examine the lock.
Courtney handed the bobbi-pin back to Duncan and started working on the lock.
"S**t, this bobbi-pin is too small. Anyone have a plan two?" Duncan asked as Courtney took her bobbi-pin back for the second time that night.
No one responded so Duncan continued "I think we should try to climb Space Mountain"
Everyone looked at him as if he were mentally insane.
"What? It could work; the attraction's façade extends outside the park. All we have to do is climb on top, walk around to the side facing out of the park, and carefully drop down. Trust me, it is not as bad as it sounds" Duncan assured them, though even he was not sure about his idea.
"I would rather use my emergency key" Courtney scoffed, having not liking his plan one bit.
"Then use your precious emergency key. I do not care how we get out of here, as long as we get the hell out of here" Duncan replied, now getting tired of her attitude.
Courtney was still hesitant about using her key; however, she realized that she had no other choice. What was important now was helping herself and her friends. If that meant that she would be in trouble with her parents, then so be it. She searched her wallet and her pockets; she left her access key at home!
"Crap, no key!" Courtney exclaimed, disappointed with herself.
"You know what that means" Duncan said, already heading back into the park.
"It is impossible to climb Space Mountain. I think that the best and safest thing to do is to lie down on one of these park benches" Courtney rebuked, hoping to not go through with his illegal and life-threatening idea.
"Does anyone have a quarter?" Katie called from far behind them.
"I do, Katie, but what for may I ask?" Courtney replied, turning around.
"I found a payphone and I need one more quarter to call my cousin Sadie" Katie said, gesturing toward the metal box on the lower level of the Main Street Train Station.
"No, Katie, let me call my mom. Sadie will not be able to get us out of here, but my mom's friends will" Courtney walked over to the payphone, put in a few quarters and started dialing.
"Now how did we not see this before?" Trent asked as everyone gathered near the train station.
Everyone shrugged as Courtney held the phone to her ear, praying that someone would pick up.
"Mom, I know that you and Dad are not in bed yet. PICK UP THE PHONE! We got ourselves locked in the park and I need you to call Shelly or Audrey or anyone who can get us out of here!" Courtney yelled into the phone, leaving a message on her answering machine.
Courtney then proceeded to try calling her mom's cell phone number, and yet again, no answer.
"Mom, is your phone on silent again!? Anyway, we are locked in the park and do not ask me how that happened because I am literally clueless. How does the park shut down less than five minutes after it closes!? Riddle. Me. That! There is no one around but the eight of us – we met some guys and they also got locked in. It is so creepy and we really want to go, so can you please help us as soon as possible?" Courtney asked, leaving a message on her mom's cell phone.
Courtney then tried her father's phone; however, she doubted that he would pick up because his phone battery is almost always dead or dying. He also did not pick up, and she left a simple message stating that they are locked in and need mom's help to get out.
"Anyone have any more quarters?" Courtney asked, hopeful.
Everyone shook their heads and then, much to Courtney's dismay, followed Duncan to Tomorrowland.
As they walked through Tomorrowland, a small creature was watching them from the shadows.
"Hey Geoff, do you see anything over there?" Bridgette asked, curious.
Geoff looked in the direction that she was pointing in and gasped. "Whose eyes are those?" he wondered. The pair had seen a pair of large, dark oval eyes looking right at them.
"I really do not know, let's just ignore them for the time being" Bridgette suggested as they approached Space Mountain.
"Duncan, are you sure about this?" Gwen asked, hesitant about his idea.
"Yes Princess, I am sure. I saw a map of this place that was drawn like one of those topo-whatever maps from my Earth Science textbook. Anyway, it showed that Space Mountain is actually outside of the park's borders. Meaning that as soon as we get on that roof, we aren't in the park anymore" the delinquent explained, only gaining some raised eyebrows and confused expressions.
"Fine, but how do we get up there?" Courtney asked, unimpressed with his logic.
"Like this" Duncan smirked, picking her up and throwing her toward the roof of Space Mountain.
"AGGH!" she screamed as she flew toward the attraction. She did not make it onto the roof, instead she found herself dangling from it. "DUNCAN YOU ARE SO DEAD!" she yelled as she tried to pull herself onto the roof.
"According to the laws of physics, next time you do that, aim thirty three degrees higher and pull your arm back five more centimeters" Noah advised, trying to prevent future injuries.
"Okay let's test that theory" Duncan replied, picking Noah up and successfully throwing him onto the roof.
"Ugh, next time a little softer please" Noah groaned sarcastically.
"Okay, now that you guys are on the entrance/queue building, walk across onto the mountain itself. This part is obviously flat, but once you reach the mountain itself, be careful" Duncan cautioned.
"Duncan, I know what the façade of Space Mountain looks like" Courtney scoffed, still pissed at him for throwing her.
The bad boy rolled his eyes and continued "just walk around the mountain and if it's all clear, than one of you jumps down and the other comes to get us."
"Duncan, this is far too dangerous without light. So is every other crazy way to escape. Let's just head back to Main Street and get some sleep. If you guys are afraid, I'll stay up and keep watch" Courtney recommended with a yawn.
"Sounds good to us" Trent replied, gesturing to him and Gwen.
Everyone but Duncan nodded in agreement, then she jumped down first and with Katie's help, they assisted Noah off of the roof.
Bridgette and Geoff looked for the eyes from earlier as they made their way out of Tomorrowland with the rest of the group. This time, however, they did not see them.
"Shit" Gwen gasped, wide-eyed.
Gwen had been the first to make it to the Tomorrowland Bridge and she saw shadows over by the Adventureland Bridge. Those were not just any shadows, they were pirate shadows.
"What's wrong, Gwen?" Katie asked as she reached the bridge with Noah in tow.
"Uh nothing, Katie" Gwen said, not wanting to alarm the jumpiest member of the group.
She walked back to Courtney and secretly asked her "do the cast members wear their costumes at night?"
"Pardon?" Courtney whispered back, confused.
"I saw two pirate shadows over by the Adventureland Bridge, I was hoping they were cast members" Gwen replied, now shaking a little.
"Gwen, unfortunately, those weren't cast members" Courtney added as she and Gwen made their way to the front of the group.
"Okay, I say that we sleep near the gates so that we are found right away" Courtney advised, keeping an ear and an eye out for anything and or anyone unwelcome.
As they passed the Main Street Bakery, the clang of metal on pavement was heard in the direction of Adventureland.
"Uh, did anyone else hear that?" Trent asked, now very tense and uneasy.
"Yeah, we did, but before we jump to conclusions or make any sudden actions, we should find out what they are doing" Courtney suggested.
"Like, spy on them?" Katie asked, not sure if she heard right.
"Yes, exactly Katie, so does anyone want to volunteer?" Posed the CIT, hoping that she herself would not have to go.
"I'll do it" Duncan answered, shrugging his shoulders.
"Good, now all you have to do is walk down and see where they are going. If you can make out any helpful intel that would be great" Courtney instructed before sending the punk back down Main Street.
As the others made their way to the gate, I made my own way to the Crystal Palace, or as I like to call it, the Baby Palace. The Crystal Palace has an outdoor area with a great view of the Adventureland Bridge. My plan was to hide under a table and then make my way behind the materdee podium. However, I had to change that plan as I was nearly spotted by a couple of pirate robots-or whatever they are called. Quickly, I jumped over the railing of the restaurant's outdoor area and hid myself behind a large bush.
I could hear the heavy footsteps of the pirate-bots come closer.
"Does ye smell anytin' odd?" A thin eye-patched pirate asked his heavier comrade.
"Yar, I smell the perfume of a lady" the heavier pirate replied.
The two were now right behind my bush, so I decided to come up with a few plans.
'F*c*! They smell my cologne! Wait…I'm not wearing cologne today. Courtney! When she fell on me, so did her scent! Damn it!' I thought, now internally panicking.
The eye-patched pirate swung his sword at the bush, cutting off a bit of my mohawk in the process.
"The hell are you doing! You are going to scare the lady!" The heavier pirate barked.
The eye-patched pirate held up his blade, the green hairs were stuck to some remaining blood from a previous altercation.
"Tis not a lady, unless ladies have green hair" The eye-patched pirate smirked.
I jumped up, pointy tree branch at the ready. I had no plans to die tonight and I was certainly not going to be killed by foul-smelling robots.
"I would suggest that you losers back away now. Trust me, you do not want to take me on in battle. My modern fighting styles are way too advanced for you dirty, scurvy-ridden freaks" I threatened, hoping it would scare them off as I was really was no match for any opponent without my trusty pocket knife.
"Kill you? Nah, now what would be the fun in that. We haves some orders to leave you scurvy brats alone for tonight. Now run back to your little girlfriend, savvy?" Fatso ordered, pointing toward the end of Main Street.
"If you have orders not to kill us, then what was all that shit about back in your ride?" I asked, hoping to get some answers.
"We was just messin' with yous. Ya know, givin' a little fright" eye-patchy chuckled.
"Well, I am not messing with you. Hurt me or any of my friends ever again and I promise you that I will pull every circuit and every wire out of your cold, dirty, metal bodies. Savvy?" I shot back, wanting to make my point loud and clear as I am not one to be messed with.
"Oh ho, look at this, the parrot-haired boy thinks he can scare us" laughed fatso.
"Do you not see my shirt? I am also a pirate, a modern day city pirate and we modern day pirates are very, very dangerous" I growled, lying a little to see what would happen.
"Not more dangerous than us, I wager. What do you say meetin' us at the Pearl sometime with your crew and we'll have a good ole' fight to determine whose crew really is the most dangerous?" eye-patchy offered, extending his dirty hand.
"Are ya mad!? Captain Barbosa would never allow an enemy crew onboard the Pearl unless they are prisoners!" fatso argued.
"Err, alright, then we'll meet at the burning village" eye-patchy corrected himself and extended his hand yet again.
"Sounds like fun" I smirked, shaking his cold, disgusting hand.
I then took off back down Main Street and I heard the two pirates walk back to their attraction in Adventureland. Me, being me, I decided to have a little fun with Princess. I found the group sitting around the train stations on the benches. Princess was facing the train station, so I got down on my knees, crawled behind her and growled in her ear.
"AHH!" she literally flew out of her eat.
I was rolling around on the ground, laughing my ass off.
"Duncan, you are such an asshole!" she barked, ready to kick me 'where the sun don't shine'.
"Thanks for the compliment, Princess" I smirked before continuing "the pirates are gone, they weren't going to kill us anyway. They have orders not to and as for earlier, they just wanted to scare us a little" I explained, hoping my report would save the family jewels.
"Well, that's a relief" Gwen added, hoping to diffuse the tension.
"Totally dudes" Geoff commented with his arm around Bridgette, who nodded in agreement.
"Excellent, now I'm going to sleep" Noah said, lying down on the pavement and shutting his eyes.
Everyone followed suit and not even ten minutes later, they were all asleep. Each teen was hoping that they would wake up in their beds and that this was just a dream, a very freaky dream.
Authors Note: There you have it, chapter seven, I hope you enjoyed it. Can anyone tell me who Fatso and Eye-Patchy are references to? (think of Barbossa's crew in the Pirates movies) Can anyone tell me whose eyes Bridgette and Geoff saw in Tomorrowland? What did you guys think of having part of the chapter in Duncan's POV? Chapter eight will be shorter and a break from the action but chapters nine and ten are going to be action packed. In case there is confusion at the beginning concerning the mention of the alternate exit, I have some facts below to help explain it. Thank you so much for reading! Oh, and thank you to everyone who favorited and followed my stories and myself - its you guys who inspire me to continue posting!
Facts:
"To accommodate, Disney often opens up alternative routes which detour guests around the outside of Main Street to the front of the theme park. One route opened this past Fourth of July is found beside Buzz Lightyear in Tomorrowland. In addition, there was also an alternate exit route set up which opened between the Plaza Restaurant and the restrooms. After going through this alternate exit, you will walk behind Main Street. While it is certainly not as scenic as Main Street, for these events, Disney has certainly "prettied" up the area adding bushes, walls, etc. As you approach the opening to Main Street (close to The Chapeau), Disney often sets up alternative firework viewing locations for guests. Here you will find chairs, often a band or DJ playing music, and a small concession stand. This allows for people to have a place to view the fireworks without having to deal with the extreme crowd levels!" - Meet the Magic dot com.
