Chapter Twenty One

Insomniac

It was already past ten o'clock in the evening when the Straw Hat pirates got pulled into exhaustion one-by-one. They spent the whole day playing, swimming, drinking, eating, and partying after a rich couple gave them free access to a private resort near the park. Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper fell asleep outside near the pool after enjoying each other's company while Alex and Sanji decided to sleep in the men's room. The ladies, including Lassy, decided to return back to the ladies' room to tend the blond-haired revolutionary after he got drunk. Zoro was sleeping on the floor next to the stairs away from the others while Brook was sitting on the sunbathing chair by the pool, staring into the night sky.

It was a full moon. Brook could not help but to feel mesmerized about how beautiful it was along with the huge shimmering stars surrounding it. It had been an hour already since his friends decided to go to bed and he still hadn't fallen asleep, for the fact that he wanted to appreciate the silence that was enveloping the whole area. The wind blew through his bare bones, chilling enough to send shivers throughout his spine, even though he didn't have any skin to feel with. It was one of those nights when he just wanted to play his violin and let the calming atmosphere take him along with his music. Unfortunately, his violin was upstairs and he was too comfortable in his position to go to their room and get it. He decided to relax and let the wind take him into the state of slumber.

But before the skeletal musician could even produce a sleep bubble from his nasal bone, a soft creak disturbed the deafening silence. His sight quickly shifted to where the sound came from without moving a single bone and to his delight, it was their archaeologist, Nico Robin. But, to the musician's dismay, she was no longer wearing her bikini but instead, she was wearing black spaghetti-strapped top and blue shorts.

"Yohohoho~ I wonder what kind of panties she is wearing." Brook thought in his hollow head. He wanted to approach her and ask her to show him her underwear but his body refused to move.

"Ah… My body fell asleep… even though I have no muscles to move with. Yohohoho~" He joked in his mind.

The perverted musician had no choice but to observe what the female archaeologist was up to out in the cold, shivering evening. It seemed as if she was searching for someone as she gazed down the balcony of the second floor.

"I hope she is looking for me. Yohohoho~! I'm here, Robin-San~!" Brook's sight never left Robin as she went down the stairs and to his disappointment, the raven-haired female was looking for Zoro as she was already crouching next to the sleeping swordsman. The musician couldn't perceive a clear vision of the two, for they were a bit far from his position, but he was sure she was happy with the sight in front of her.

"It's hard to decipher their actions from here, especially since I have no eyes to see with. Yohohoho~! Robin-San smiling like that makes my heart warm. I envy you, Zoro-San~! Yohohoho~! I do hope what I think about them being a romantic couple is correct." He thought to himself as he continued to entertain himself with his skulljokes.

Robin bent down next to the sleeping swordsman against the floor with a smile painted upon her lips. He had a cute sleep bubble in his nose that repeatedly expanded and contracted from time to time along with his disturbing yet adorable snore, echoing from his wide-opened mouth. She was having the urge to poke the bubble as her forefinger was already halfway near it, but she didn't want to be rude and wake him up. Aside from that, she was admiring the sleeping swordsman while she still had the chance. It was one of the few moments where she could stare at him without him looking away from the embarrassment of being observed.

Actually, there were many reasons to dislike Zoro; characteristics that one might consider as unattractive. His odd mossy green hair, the scars covering his body and face, and his serious deadly gaze, could make a normal person anxious once stumbled upon in a dark alley. Aside from that, he had a poor sense of direction, stubborn attitude, huge amount of pride, excessive desire for sleep, and many other imperfections about him to the point their navigator and cook could produce a long list all about it. But she didn't mind at all, she still couldn't help herself not to find him attractive. Those were the traits that made him perfectly the way she wanted him to be; those made him who he was.

Suddenly, Zoro's sleep bubble popped before it even touched Robin's finger, causing him to grumble and for his eyebrows to twitch. Slowly and lazily, the green-headed swordsman opened his functioning eye as he yawned. "Oh, it's you. What are you doing here?" He asked with a teary half-lidded eye as he started to look around, only to find everyone sleeping.

"I couldn't sleep so I thought it would be nice to see what you were up to, only to find you asleep here. I didn't mean to wake you up." The female archaeologist explained with a smile as she found it entertaining to twirl her finger on his upper-arm that was lying on the floor. She noticed she's been getting rather comfortable with touching him more whenever they were alone, like earlier after she found him naked in their room and after Chopper treated his wound. It was new to her since she wasn't clingy in the first place, but she didn't mind at all. She was amazed with how much she was changing due to Zoro's presence. It was amusing. Aside from that, the reason why she couldn't put herself to sleep was because she kept on thinking about him. She wanted to see him.

"Is there something bothering you?" He asked as he sat up on the floor, facing her. "That's weird." He thought to himself. He usually wasn't the one to ask if there was something bothering his friend. He would care, yes, but he wouldn't go asking what was wrong. Usually, he would just stay silent and think what might be bothering the person, just keeping his thoughts to himself. But this time, he was curious enough to the point of asking her. It was weird. He was curious to know everything about her.

"I just can't seem to stop myself from thinking of you… about how would it be if you were the one sleeping next to me… until I found myself actually wishing you were there. But nonetheless, I'm fine." The female archaeologist said frankly as she held her chin and stared at naught.

"S-Stop saying things like that!" He demanded as his face flushed from embarrassment. He couldn't imagine how Robin would say such embarrassing things so straightforward, even though it was really her character. However, he felt proud that somehow, the female archaeologist can't stop thinking about him because he couldn't take his mind off of her as well. It was comforting to know that the person you like felt the same way about you.

"Do my eyes deceive me? Although I have no eyes… Yohohoho~ Is Zoro-san blushing? How cute~! Yohohoho~ Such a rare sight!" Brook thought as he continued to observe them from a far.

"But I was only answering what you have asked me by telling you the truth." She giggled in delight of seeing his reaction.

"Tch! Then let's go find a room." He said bluntly with an annoyed tone.

"Excuse me?" Robin almost chocked as a faint blush spread across her cheeks, for she did not expect what she just heard.

"Let's go find a room. We both know I can't stay in your room; Nami will definitely kick me out. Maybe it would help you fall asleep once you know I'm there or something." Zoro expounded with a low tone as he tried to avoid her gaze, scratching the back of his head. "I know I would." He agreed in his thoughts.

"Fufufu~ Alright. I believe there's an unoccupied room near ours. We'll just have to borrow the key from Guard-San." She approved with a smile and stood up.

"Ehh? Where are they going?" Brook asked himself as the couple went to the guardhouse, upstairs, then inside the room next to the ladies' room. "What's going on? Are they going to sleep together? Or better… Yohohoho~! Are they going to do it? I really envy you now, Zoro-San! Please save me some of Robin-San's panties~! Yohohoho~!" He thought perverted things with the couple as his cheekbones flushed, causing blood to trickle down his nasal bone.

The musician let out a sigh as he was finally able to move after the two went inside the other room. "Hmmm… If what I am thinking due to what I am seeing is really true, I wonder until when are they going to keep it from us. I'm sure Luffy-san will be delighted to know about their relationship. Yohohoho~" Brook stood up as he stared at the door of Zoro and Robin's room.

Yellow! Soooo how was this chapter? Yeah, I know right! Someone already saw them! And it was Brook! Brook rarely has screen time in the anime and most of my fanfics so I gave him one in this story. :D Aside from that, OMG Zoro and Robin are going to sleep together! Yes, I'm squealing even though I am the writer. XD Anyways, review! Tell me what you think! :D
