A/N: Please note that this is of course Fan Fiction, therefore the events described would be slightly deviated from the orginal telling.
And nope, I in fact do not own Warcraft or anything else I write about.
Chapter 29
"Your envoy must be small," said Varimathras as he continued briefing Wayne on the long walk away from their Queen's chamber. Wayne was very elated to be blessed by the Dark Lady for this prized assignment and tried his best to keep his attention on the Dreadlord's words. Nollis kept his pace close behind him on the winding corridor as Wayne was more apt to lose balance while walking so quickly. Though Wayne was no fool to physics and kept his long spinal staff tilted at an angle for greater support.
"You must be able to travel lightly and not appear to be a raiding party. I trust you will have the ability to handle yourself with this disadvantage..." Varimathras said darkly with his eyes downcast upon him. The Dreadlord was not one to forget the damages that this magician had caused him and his kin.
"Without question," responded Wayne, seeing the malice from the Dreadlord. "How many do you suppose will be sufficent? Bear in mind that the Dark Lady wishes for apothecaries within the envoy."
"Six will be the size," Varimathras said.
"Only six?" Wayne questioned.
"There is no stopping your Elf from following you. Two of the most well versed plague scholars under Faranell have already been enlisted. As well as two esteemed Deathstalkers for your envoy's protection. Counting yourself, you have all you need to complete this task," said Varimathras.
Wayne nodded as they continued their brisk walk out past the royal Deathguards and into the bustling city. They followed Varimathras into his own chambers in the nearby quarter. All the while the demon explained that preparations for this mission has been his top priority for weeks. Now he can finally rest and put an end to the ceaseless badgering from his Queen's banshees.
"Everything is set for your group to embark at nightfall. The ship is already docked at the coast with a full crew on deck," said Varimathras. "Here are your final necessities," the demon added as he lifted a large woven bag from his desk and handed it to Wayne.
Inside, Wayne found several tabards bearing the crest of the Forsaken. A pale fragmented part of Lady Sylvanas's face with her arrows jutting through. There were also several small bags of gold and precious jewels. Along with maps and detailed notes written by Varimathras on the various races which he would encounter. Crude respresentations of large humanoid bulls that were known as 'Tauren' were shown. Along with orcs and trolls that appeared different from the Amani tribe that warred against the former high elven kingdom. Quickly looking over the charcoal illustrations, Wayne grew evermore intrigued.
"Modify your dress and wear your medallion. Impress these brutes which seek us as allies," said Varimathras.
Giving his sincere thanks to the Dreadlord, Wayne left to begin his last minute preparations.

A/N: Have to apologize for the shortness of this chapter. Personally I've been distracted so long that I feel I must publish, even if it is so little.
More to come, rest assured!
