Chapter 5

Aaron's point of view

I found myself on the day of Kallisto and I's wedding, and it seemed as if it were only yesterday when I purposed, though in reality it had been around four months ago. I shared breakfast with Kallisto, seeing as how we did not care about the modern day tradition of not being with your fiancé for the twenty-four hours before the wedding. We talked about the coming day, both of us feeling gleeful. Kallisto, still being tired, decided to get a few more hours sleep at my behest.

A month ago, Ariston and I surprised Kallisto and Mera with a baby shower. Of course the gifts were more than enough to fill our nurseries closets and we had already bought so much for our children, but were thankful for the thoughtful gifts we received and to have so much family around. My family was not there, but I had come to see Kallisto's family as my own, and Mera and Margret were there. My family was still upset with me for shutting my mother out of my life, but it was something I had to do even if they could not understand why. Perhaps, down the road, I will find it in me to forgive her. I cannot bare the thought of my daughter seeing my mom the way she is now. I wanted Rose to know the woman she was, back when my father was alive and without that I could not see bringing my little girl anywhere near my mother. But I chose to live in the present, while remember the best times of my life in the last few months. From having Ariston safely returned to his family, to finding out I am going to be a father, to having Kallisto agree to marry me, to a few nights ago

My bachelor party was two nights ago, and let's just say I was thankful for healing nectar, or I would still have a hangover. Kallisto had given me a seductive smile, kissed me and said to have fun, for tonight was my night, and I gave her my word I would not allow anything too outlandish to happen, to which she said that she trusted me, and kissed me again.

The night before last was... One hell of a night! Vincent and Walter came to Olympus, Jack was there along with a few guys from my unit. The nymphs were gorgeous, and... Vivacious. With Kallisto's request in mind, and some tequila rushing through my veins, few if any inhibitions existed within me, though there was thankfully enough that when a lovely nymph named Pyciea unexpectedly kissed me and told me how she wanted me, I was able to resist, tempting as it was and go back to the party at hand. A party, that I would add, that was quickly turning into an orgy. Jack and I, being the only ones in committed relationships, made sure to leave soon when that sort of thing began.

The next morning, I tried to tell Kallisto what had happened the night before, but she would not hear it. She smiled and said she did not care, unless there was another child of my body on the way. I assured her nothing went that far, and when I went to tell her she kissed me. She said it did not matter, she did not mind I had 'some fun' before I pledged myself to her for all eternity. I shook my head, telling her in my soul, I was already pledged to her, and she kissed me again.

I met up with my best man Vincent, and my groomsmen Walter, John, and Jack. We arrived at Ariston and Mera's magnificent home; everything was abuzz as the final bits of detail were put into place. Kallisto's father brought the five of us to the bedroom which had been transformed into a prep room. Our white suits were already there on their hangers. They had detail of some gold scroll work which was something of a fashion staple of the gods attire. We made conversation as piece by piece we made ourselves presentable. Of course my bachelor party had to be the most discussed topic of the day.

"That woman, she was... GOD!" Walter exclaimed as we put our suits on. That is most of what Vincent and Walter spoke of for the past two days. I laughed at the use of 'god.' As though the term were singular.

"I thought you knew by now that there was not only one god?" I said to him, he just shrugged. I nearly laughed again, thinking about here in the home of the gods, if someone says 'God!' in any way, they are met with the response, 'Which one?'

"But come on, someone had to have created… EVERYTHING. Matter, and all that stuff." Walter said to me. I nodded.

"The original goddess, Chaos, she created most everything." I told him, he cocked his head to the side.

"So God's a chick?" He asked, making me laugh at how he said that.

"Once again, we have more than one god." Once again I tried to explain, but it was too much for them to wrap their minds around, seeing as how Vincent and Walter only found out about the gods existence outside of Myth three weeks ago when I told them the wedding is on Olympus. They were noticeably shocked and could not believe me until they saw Kallisto teleport. They were slowly warming up to the enormity of this truth. Speaking of warming up, Vincent had to go on with his own tale.

"I can only remember half of mine but... DAMN, pretty much covers it! That woman…" Vincent agreed, I laughed and found myself blushing. Vincent looked my way. "Too bad you didn't hook up with that chick that was all over you."

"Pyciea, I think." I spoke her name, and a memory of the way she kissed me ran through my mind, and soon dwarfed into Kallisto's burning lips, and that was what I truly wanted. "My soon-to-be-wife is more than enough for me; trust me on this." They laughed and patted me on the back. I had spoken about Kallisto and I's intimate moments some, since she had mentioned that it did not bother her, so long as I painted it in a flattering light.

"Then I guess you're one hell of a lucky man!" Vincent exclaimed, all I could do was nod, thinking of my extraordinary love, and how I was about to become a father. "I mean how many women will,"

"Hey, you are talking about the mother of my daughter, a woman who will in an less than an hour be my wife. Watch it." I warned him, he threw his hands up in defense.

A soft knock came on the door, which John opened for me. I smiled, seeing Mera walk in wearing her bridesmaids dress, her full womb was larger than Kallisto's own, seeing as how Mera is carrying twins.

"Well, aren't you dashing." She complemented me, I shrugged.

"It's my wedding day." I told her as the truth of those words struck me again. "How is my bride?"

"Kallisto is glorious!" She told me. "Just wait until you see her! Her mother's wedding dress is absolutely perfect on her. She sends her love and devotion to you." I was, for lack of a better word, giddy at the very thought of my bride, my wife-to-be.

I slowly sank into my chair, my elbows resting on my knees as I stared off into my very soul, which was made up of sky blue eyes, platinum blond hair, soft, warm skin, a teasing voice and the most incredible hands I have ever experienced. It did not matter to me, the fact that I had only lived nineteen years, for with Kallisto, I felt as if I have been in love with her for far longer than that, lifetimes more, and far beyond that, knowing we were created for each other. I must have had a far off look on my face, for soon I heard Vincent's voice.

"Not getting cold feet, are you?" My friend asked, I looked at him and laughed, shaking my head no as I took a deep breath.

"More like my knees forgot to do their job and keep me upright." I told him, then met Mera's eyes and knew she understood how much I loved her daughter. After all, this was what she had tried to tell me a year ago, that souls were born in pairs. "Give her my devotion and insane love in return, if you would." I asked of her, she nodded.

"I will." She told me, coming over to kiss my forehead before walking out, closing the door behind her.

"Dude, this is just weird." Walter said, and I met his eyes. "That's your mother-in-law! Your ex-girlfriend is your mother-in-law!"

"You think that is strange?" I asked him. "Try this on for size. Mera's sons are going to be my brothers-in-law, and uncles to my daughter. And Rose will be Mera's granddaughter, not to mention very distant cousins, since we are all descended from the gods." John laughed once and I smiled.

"Weird, man," Vincent said as he shook his head. "Just plain weird. Didn't you say that Zeus is engaged to one of his daughters, too?"

"Crown Princess Ennina," I told him. "You will see them together here, and believe it or not, that sight is not as weird as you might think. One of those things where how they are around each other, the way they look at each other says how in love they are." Vincent and Walter gave a shiver and I laughed. "I suppose I got used to it."

"Well," John said. "You could not exactly walk up to the King of the Gods and say, 'Dude, it's creepy.' Could you?" We all had a laugh over that one. "But hey, they are freaking gods! It's normal for them."

I looked over to see John standing before the mirror, tying a Windsor knot. Losing Helen Rogers had not left his soul. To our unit, Helen had been our mentor and friend. To John, she had been a mother figure, and when she died saving his life… he could not get over that. He was a brother to me, we were both descended from Hermes and most people said we looked enough alike to be brothers. He had a 'thing' somewhat going on with Hanna, Descendant of Artemis. Though it was more of a friendship with benefits, and they were not, as they would put it, tied down to one another. I knew that Hanna was one of the only things that kept him together, when all he wanted to do was fall apart.

Once we were prepared, Jack, Vincent, Walter, John and I exited the bedroom and made our way outside to where our guests were waiting. The front of Mera and Ariston's estate, a two-acre meadow, had been transformed for the ceremony and reception. Judging by the sun, midday was rapidly approaching, when Kallisto would walk down the isle to me on her fathers arm and we would be wed. Seeing as how we were in the beginning of November, the leaves surrounding us were in wondrous shades of yellow, red and orange. The air was crisp and perfect, and we had heaters set up around the reception area to keep the few mortals whom joined us warm. Mainly Mera's parents, Jack and Margret, Walter and Vincent.

All details were taken care of for today, I was determined that my bride would not have to worry about anything other than looking beautiful. But of course being beautiful, within and without, was a given for her.

There was a elegant water fountain in the center of the courtyard that had been created specifically for this event, and flowers were everywhere, in colors of light pink, warm peach, dusky rose and ivory. Wild roses were planted and grew everywhere, along with the most colorful fuchsia, blue orchids and light peach peonies, the names of which I only knew because Kallisto and Mera were talking about them near constantly as they planned the wedding. I helped out with everything I could, but in many ways, this was more my brides day than it was mine, and I did not mind. I wanted her to have everything she has ever dreamed of!

Three paintings were resting against marble backgrounds, each of Kallisto's family. One was of Ariston dancing with Elianna on their wedding day. The second was the enormous work, which usually was above Mera and Ariston's fireplace in their living room; it was the image of Kallisto's family. Elianna sat beside Ariston on grand, throne-like chairs, with a little Kallisto sitting in her mothers lap, and her three brothers standing behind them and smiling. Kallisto had laughingly told me that her brothers would have eaten me alive, before they got to know me that is. They were always protective of her and she has always adored them.

The third was a painting Kallisto had asked especially for. It was of Mera and Ariston, they were holding hands as they grazed their horses, Vrontos and Luna, the white stallion and black mare happily eating grass as their riders smiles to each other in complete and total, ardent love. I laughed, amazed at how everything turned out. Now that I am here, I cannot imagine ever loving anyone other than Kallisto. Mera was right, as always. She and I were meant for others, she for Ariston and his daughter is meant for me.

My eyes caught on the other paintings here; four of them were of my own family. There was one of my parents on their wedding day, another of them with me when I was only a few weeks old. The third was from when I was eight, with my father kneeling down beside me in my baseball uniform, 64 was my number, and in my hands was the trophy my team and I had won, and the joy and pride upon my fathers face nearly made me cry. Two years have passed since my father died, yet it seemed like yesterday.

The fourth painting was of my parents on their seventeenth anniversary, the last one they shared together. The woman in the picture, the one with life and warmth within her eyes, that was the mother I remembered. Who she has become… she was barely recognizable. Kallisto had asked if I wanted to invite her, but I told her I did not. She had made her feelings on Kallisto clear, and I could not bare the thought of my mother's bitterness ruining our wedding. I had no idea how she was going to treat Kallisto and her father, and today was not the day to find out, today was about Kallisto and I, and Rose, our unborn daughter.

My family was not coming. I had called them, but they said that if I refused to invite my mother, they would not be coming either, and that was the end of it. But this was my family, my new family, my old family one might say. Distant cousins, grandparents, uncles and aunts and many more, and so I made peace with it.

Many other enlarged photos had been placed around, these ones of Kallisto and I and our friends and family with us. I noticed Princess Erato, goddess and muse of Lyrical, romantic, passionate love, making her way over to me. Erato is the daughter of Ennina and Zeus, therefor being both Kallisto's cousin and aunt, and bears a striking resemblance to her beautiful, divine mother. She has her mother's dark, golden brown curls, her parents sky blue eyes and her mothers face. Her husband was here as well, he is the son of Cronus and Ennina, Astraeus, who had his fathers face, mothers blue eyes and lightly tanned skin, and his father's black, straight hair. Erato would be the one marrying Kallisto and I today.

"Greetings, Aaron." The beautiful goddess greeted me; I bowed my head in respect before meeting her eyes again.

"Hello, Erato." I greeted her, since she had asked me to call her by her first name.

"It is almost time." She told me with her mothers smile, a slightly crooked smile with perfect white teeth. "How are you?" I smiled and her smile widened, knowing in my smile how happy I was, though I could not seem to stop my hands from shaking.

"I am about to be married, not to mention becoming a father." I said happily. "Gods, am I blessed!" Erato laughed and I joined in.

A breathless sound of tinkling bells alerted guests that the ceremony was about to begin. I made my way to my place on the wood dais, adjusting my suit, making sure I was presentable as I waited for everyone to be seated, and Erato stood in her place on the dais. The ceremony space was made up of a semicircle that was broken in half, and in that space was the wide isle, covered with lavender flower petals, the edges of the isle were lined with full, soft pink rose heads in full bloom. Mera's parents sat at the end of the first row on the right, they waved to me and I gave them a smile. Mera's grandmother, Marie, was sitting next to her daughter-in-law.

I watched everyone file in, taking their seats, and I smiled to them as I caught their eyes. The Twelve were here with their spouses, though Zeus was escorting his sister and lover Nell, and Hephaestus was with his mother Hera. It was still too strange to think about, being with your sibling, or even parent… but as Kallisto has said, they are gods and not hindered by need for such laws, since they do not have genetics to get in the way with no bodies.

A nervous excitement flowed through me when suddenly the string quartet began playing a romantic harmony, which Kallisto chose to walk down the isle to. First came Kallisto's bridesmaid Maria on my groomsman John's arm. Then Alena walked down the lavender petals on Jack's arm, followed by Mera on Walter's arm, and Callisto on Vincent's arm. Then came the ring bearer, the three year old son of Kallisto's friend and bridesmaid, Alena.

More bells sounded, and everyone stood as the adorable and lovely flower girls made their way down the isle, throwing rose petals for my bride to walk upon, and then there she was... Kallisto walked down the isle to me on her father's arm. I could barely breathe, the music and gasps of awe from our guests were only faintly heard as I looked on in astonishment. Her shining, platinum blond curls flowed loosely around her, her head adorned with a headpiece of blue and purple diamonds that brought out every beautiful element about her.

The gown was long and white, made of many layers of sheer cloud silk that gave it an effervescent look but was not see-through. The detail worked into the fabric in pure gold thread was stunning, and the little colored stones that were seamlessly sewn in incredible patterns all over the gown were just as breathtaking. The skirt billowed out to Kallisto's feet in an elegant flow of the layered silk. The straps came in two, long, relatively thin white rope straps, from the back of the dress, then they looped through the intricate gold rings on the front, only to tie back around Kallisto's neck. Kallisto's mother's dress was truly breathtaking on her, the effervescent look of the skirt flowing down from her full womb… I was fighting back tears as I looked into her sky blue eyes. Her smile was… blinding.

Ariston placed her hand within my own, then held our hands within both of his, smiling to me, then his daughter. He kissed her cheek, then took his seat in the front row. Kallisto and I turned towards each other, holding hands as we gazed into each other's hands.

"Dear family and friends," Erato spoke. "You have been gathered here on this day of days, to witness the union of Aaron and Kallisto in the sacred rite of marriage. They have written their vows to be spoke to each other, Kallisto?"

She was still looking into my eyes, her eyes glossy with overwhelming joy, which ran through our souls. I gave her hands a squeeze.

"Aaron," She began. "There are not words for what I feel for you. The first time I saw you… there was this irreversible shift within me, towards you. I stand before you, a goddess, and a woman madly in love, ready to give every moment of the rest of forever to you, to love you, be with you, stand by you and support you as a woman should to the man she loves. I know beyond a doubt that Rose has an extraordinary father in you, she cannot wait to meet you!" She laughed and I joined in, then it was my turn.

"Aaron?" Erato prompted.

"You are by far the most beautiful and extraordinary woman I have ever met," I looked towards Mera, behind Kallisto. "No offence." Everyone laughed, including Kallisto, and I looked into her eyes once again. "You are loving, thoughtful, incredible, and totally devoted to family. You have devoted yourself to being a goddess for nearly two thousand years, and in that time have accomplished feats… the likes of which astound me with each telling. Yes, you can be teasing and sarcastic as hell," Kallisto and the crowd laughed again. "But I love you all the more for it. Being your husband, and embarking on the journey of parenthood with you, will be the most extraordinary adventure of my life!" Erato held a golden chalice between us.

"Drink of the sacred drink of the gods, so that the same liquid will be within both your bodies as you make your final vows." The Muse of Lyrical Love and Passion spoke, handing us the golden chalice filled with liquefied ambrosia.

Kallisto and I took the chalice within our hands, her hands going over my own. We brought it to her lips and we tipped it as she took a drink. We brought it to my lips next, and I drank of the sweet nectar as well. We handed the chalice back to Erato, whom gave it to her attendant while taking the length of pink silk from her. This goddess of lyrical love bound our hands with that length for the hand fastening.

"Aaron," Spoke the goddess. "Do you pledge your eternal and undying love and devotion to Kallisto as your wife, through joys and sorrows? Do you swear to stand by her side through all the walks of life, for the rest of your existence?"

"Yes, I swear." I said as my soul seemed to fill with even more joy.

"Kallisto," Spoke the goddess. "Do you pledge your eternal and undying love and devotion to Aaron as your husband, through joys and sorrows? Do you swear to stand by his side through all the walks of life, for the rest of your existence?"

"With every fiber of my being, I swear!" Kallisto proclaimed, and we laughed in ecstatic joy!

"By the power of love invested in me, by all that is sacred and treasured, I now pronounce you, husband and wife." Erato said. "Aaron, kiss your bride." My lips were already half way to Kallisto's by this point.

We kissed with our hands still bound, my hand knotted in her hair as her hand held onto my shoulder. We never heard the cheers of our friends and families, or felt the flower petals raining down upon us as we kissed. Only she and I existed as time itself came to a halt, our beings joining together. It was in that moment, with Kallisto's rounded womb against my abs, that our daughter kicked me in the stomach, causing me to jump and smile as I stopped kissing her mother. I looked into Kallisto's eyes in wonder, then laid my hand upon her womb and kissed her again, and again, and again. Once I found the will to break away from her lips, I fell to my knees and kissed her womb, then rested my forehead to where our daughter grew and could clearly hear her little heart beat as Kallisto ran her fingers through my hair.

After a time, I went back to my feet and Erato removed her length of pink cloud silk and Kallisto and I kissed once more, before we exchanged rings. For me, Kallisto had chosen a gold band inlaid with emeralds in a more stoic and masculine appearance than her ornate gold and emerald band. We turned towards our friends and family, raising our joined hands in ecstatic victory. It was almost as it was when I purposed to her on the pier. Erato threw handfuls of light pink rose petals in celebration and they rained down upon my wife and I.

We walked down the steps of the dais and down the isle, under a constant rain of peach rose petals. Kallisto's hand was encompassed within my own as we hugged some family and friends on the way. Our guests went on to the reception area as we went with our group to have photos taken. We laughed and kidded around as we went through the whole process, the photos that were taken had to number in the thousands! Kallisto took some herself, photography being one of her passions. Walter, Jack and Vincent were acting like complete idiots and soon so was I, realizing the photos were going to look ridiculous, but Kallisto did not seem to mind.

After what seemed like forever, Kallisto and I went on a walk to have a little time by ourselves… and ended up being gone for an hour or so. We were very limited in what we could do together this late in her pregnancy, but we enjoyed whatever we could. We dressed each other and picked the leaves out of our hair, laughing and kissing as we made our way to the reception area, where we were announced, and we danced in, laughing and kissing the whole way, as we went to have our first dance.

I held my wife in my embrace, astounded that we were married, as we swayed to the slow, sweet song. When that song ended after what felt like a moment and an eternity at once, Ariston walked up. I placed Kallisto's hand within her fathers, and as they began to dance, I walked over and asked Mera to dance, which she accepted. 'I Loved Her First' came on, and Mera and I watched Kallisto dance with her father. Ariston smiled down to her, they spoke softly and Kallisto nodded with a smile, tears in her eyes, and he held my wife close in his arms. She held onto her father, her head resting against his shoulder as he kissed her hair.

"How could I have ever hated him?" I asked half to myself, and half to Mera, my soul holding a profound love and respect for my father-in-law, for being the god he is.

"Well, you were still half way in love with me at the time." She mentioned and I looked into her ember, violet eyes, the eyes of one of my best friends. Mera suddenly began laughing, and I could only wonder what she was thinking on.

"Now you have to tell me; what are you thinking about?" I asked her.

"Your face when you asked me if Kallisto was seeing anyone." She told me, still laughing. I laughed too, thinking on that day.

It was barely three weeks after Mera broke up with me, and she had just begun seeing Ariston. Jack had told me she was seeing him, Margret had mentioned it to him and he felt he should tell me, but I could not let myself think it was so. I saw Kallisto once in class, but was still too hung up on Mera to really let myself feel anything for her yet. I was simply not able to let Mera go until I knew. So one night, I went to the stables to see Mera. I had been holding onto our prom tickets, hoping she would go with me and I would sweep her off her feet.

I walked into the stables and stopped in shock, seeing Ariston had Mera pinned against the wall as he kissed her, his hand under her shirt as she held onto him. He began kissing her neck and I was infuriated, enraged, and I screamed "GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY GIRLFRIEND!" He stepped away from her, and then I did everything in my power to hurt him, to beat the crap out of him… of course, how was I to know I was fighting a five thousand year old god, trained by Cronus and Ennina, by Zeus himself.

I ended up with a broken hand, but not because of Ariston. He waited until I was blinded by enough rage, as he redirected my every attack, and then when I threw a punch for his head, he moved out of the way and my hand collided with the oak wall. Mera stopped our fight, and Ariston was a complete gentleman, too much of one for my taste back then, and was too kind to me by far as he set my broken bones, putting a splint on my hand before it healed, knowing that I, as a Descendant of the gods, would begin to heal before I could get to a hospital.

I talked with Mera afterwards, and she made it clear how things were. We were not going to get back together; she was incredibly in love with Ariston and he was what she wanted. If I loved her, I had to respect that. She left with Ariston that night. I did not sleep that night; I thought over everything that was said, and by morning light, I had accepted that Mera was not going to be with me again, she had what she wanted, she was happy.

Letting her go was far from easy and that was easily one of the hardest nights of my life, but for a reason I could not understand, as I watched the sunrise a beautiful face entered my mind, along with a name, Kallisto Crete. The only way I could describe what I felt was a mind-bending curiosity. I had a whole day to think it over, to think of her, my mind running wild. I kept thinking of what I would say to her if I could see her again.

When I saw her when she taught her fathers class for the second time, while Ariston was with Mera doing… I still did not want to think about exactly what they were doing, I had to speak with Kallisto. We had a short conversation, during which… I was even more drawn to her by her smile and the few teasing looks she gave me. The way she spoke, with a mixture of eloquence and knowledge… she was breathtaking, a woman that possessed a soul as beautiful as she was, and by the gods… even more than before, she became all I could think about! When I saw Mera the following day, I had to ask her about Kallisto. Looking at Mera as she danced in my arms, I laughed as I thought of that day.

"I have to say," I told her. "Asking you if Kallisto was seeing anyone was probably the most awkward thing I had ever done." Mera laughed.

"I noticed!" She said, causing us to laugh again.

"Well I only had two choices." I went on, still smiling as my cheeks turned red. "I could either ask you, my ex-girlfriend, about a woman I was interesting in… or I could ask her father, whom I had just tried to beat the crap out of a few days before hand, because I saw him touching you." We laughed together, and I took a deep breath, looking over towards where my wife danced with her father. "It was worth it, she's worth it."

The song ended then, and Ariston let go of my wife. She looked into his eyes, and wrapped her arms around his neck as she leaned up on her toes, and his arms wrapped around her again. Despite Kallisto being five months pregnant and a beautiful and shapely woman, in this moment she looked like a little girl hanging onto her father's neck.

Ariston and I were reunited with our wives, as Kallisto and I went to cut the cake, seeing as how Kallisto is the dessert first kind of woman. I stood behind her and to the side, the decretive knife held within our hands as we cut out a slice for each of us. I lifted the fork of raspberry and orange flavored cake to Kallisto's lips, she ate it as our friends and family cheered. When it was her turn, she got a mischievous look in her eyes, and before I knew what happened, Kallisto had taken her piece of cake in her hand and threw it at me. I looked at her in shock, her eyes sparkling in that playful and daring way.

"Why you little," I began with a smile as she reached down and took a handful of the cake and threw it at me.

I took my piece and threw it at her, to which she laughed as she grabbed another handful of the formerly, beautifully decorated cake. A food fight between the entire wedding party and guests commenced, laughter and squeals of excitement filled the air as we all got covered in food. Kallisto and I ended up standing in the middle of the cacophony as she kissed the food off of my face, and I returned the favor. She looked into my eyes, cake and frosting clotting her lashes together and I kissed her.

Our attendants brought my wife and I towels to clean up with, along with towels for everyone else, and a huge bin for them to be deposited in. There was nothing left of the wedding cake, except for what was covering everyone's fine garments and skins, most everyone was still laughing and not a single person was without a smile. We had dinner as the sun set and after another dessert of chocolate tiramisu, topped with expresso flavored cookie crumbles.

"It was a beautiful chalice." I heard Mera speak with Ariston; they were within earshot.

"The palace from the chalice?" He asked, in all seriousness.

"No, the chalice from the palace." Mera explained.

"But where's the pellet with the poison?" Ariston asked.

"In the vessel with the pestle." She explained.

"The pestle with the vessel." He asked, and at this point I had to turn to look, only to find them in a serious discussion.

"The vessel with the pestle!" She told him. "Don't you see? The pellet with the poison is in the vessel with the pestle, the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true!" She sighed in exasperation. "It's so easy I can say it!"

"Well then you fight him!" He said nervously, and they both burst into laughter.

"What in the hell are you guys talking about?" I asked them, Ariston and his wife only laughed harder, to the point where they had tears in their eyes.

"One of our favorite scenes from The Court Jester! Playing around with it a bit." Ariston explained. It was one of their favorite movies, an old one from 1955 staring Danny Kaye.

"There's been a change," Kallisto suddenly said and I turned to her to see her looking at her father. "They broke the chalice from the palace." I turned back to Ariston, and his face was crestfallen.

"They… broke the chalice from the palace?" He asked.

"And replaced it with a flagon." Kallisto went on with the scene.

"A flagon?" He said.

"With the figure of a dragon." She said.

"Flagon with a dragon." He nodded, trying to remember it.

"Right." She said.

"Did you put the pellet with the poison in the vessel with the pestle?" He asked.

"No! The pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon, the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true!" She told him, and they all laughed as I joined in.

"I love you guys!" I said and we laughed again.

Kallisto and I shared numerous kisses and then soon, we all began dancing with everyone here. I danced with Margret, and we talked as she teased me about getting married so young. I told her that was hardly fair, since Mera is younger than me, only by a few months, but still! She had laughed and assured me she was only teasing, and she and Jack were happy for Kallisto and I, and she could not wait to meet her 'niece.' I noticed Erato dancing with her husband Astraeus, laughing and treasuring every moment within each others embrace. They were stuck like glue, and spent little time with anyone else, except for when their family wanted a dance.

I saw Mera dancing with Ariston, and with her fiancé Cronus, though the mysterious Jason was nowhere in sight. According to Kallisto, Mera had fallen in love with another god while Ariston was captured and had agreed to marry him as well. Somehow, Ariston was happy about this, telling me it was a good thing when I asked about it, though such was beyond my understanding. But in truth, I had been in love twice in my life, the first time of course was with Mera… but Kallisto blew me out of the water. I knew I could never love anyone the way I love her; it was simply not within me to do so. As it was, my heart and soul felt about to burst from the depth of love I hold for Kallisto and Rose.

Beyond Mera being in love with yet another man… there was something strange going on, and no one would let me in on this secret surrounding Jason Gray. Kallisto knew, and showed me how much of her fathers daughter she is, by telling me that it was not her secret to tell. Kallisto and Mera took breaks from dancing numerous times, seeing as how Mera was five days away from giving birth, and Kallisto was two.

As the night went on I noticed how tired Kallisto was growing, and we agreed it was time to take our leave.

We waved goodbye to everyone as we teleported to our honeymoon. It would be only a day long, since we planned to return home before Kallisto gives birth. She wants to bring Rose forth in our home. Even though there would not be much… physical interaction, our honeymoon would be romantic as hell if I had any say!
