So I've mostly caught up on Criminal Minds, I'm just missing one episode, I think.
I can't wait to go to college (I've finally picked one too!)
I went into my driver's test believing I was gonna fail…and I passed!
Since writing the first part of this authors note, I have completely caught up on Criminal Mind! No spoilers, I promise.
Shit I may be behind again.
So uh…for this case…I know who the unsub is…but that's it…I have no idea what else I'm doing with this I just know the name… Have I ever told you that I write as I get ideas? Yeah that still applies.
OK I'm reeeeeeally behind on CM…I think
I graduated!
In case you didn't realize, this AN spans across several months. I picked a college in March/April and I graduated in June…now it's July…I'm sorry.
And Now it's late September….really, really sorry.
I think I'm caught up on CM? I really don't know at this point.
And picking up right where we left off…
"What's going on?" asked Will, coming back from putting Henry down.
"Our Unsub works for the FBI," said Emily.
"What? You're telling me one of your own is killing people for no reason?" asked Will.
"We also have more than one Unsub; one doing the murders, the other set the bomb," said Derek.
"And the killer, the one we were originally looking for, has my personal cell number," said JJ.
"What? How?" asked Will.
"Someone on the inside, it's the only way. Garcia would've known if we'd been hacked," said Morgan.
"We should call Hotch," said Emily. Suddenly Morgan's phone rang.
"This guy has really weird timing," said Morgan as he answered the phone.
"Our Unsub works for the FBI and he has access to our files," said Morgan.
-How do you know?
"He has JJ's personal cell which could only be found in her file, I didn't even have that number Hotch," said Morgan.
"Who else is with you? asked Hotch.
"Prentiss and I are with Will and JJ," said Morgan
-Ok, I'll gather the rest of the team, meet in the conference room, you too Will.
"What about Henry?" asked JJ.
-Bring him too, Garcia can watch him while she works you know she won't mind." Said Hotch.
"Alright, see you soon," said Morgan, hanging up the phone.
"I'll get the little man up," said Will.
"I'm going to call Garcia, make sure it's actually ok." Said JJ as she walked across the room to pick up the landline.
"So if our Unsub is working for the FBI, who would try to blow us up?" asked Emily.
"Were we really the targets of that? When we got the call we assumed it was for us, but now we know that these two cases aren't connected at all," said Morgan.
"Well he was definitely targeting law enforcement, We only found the pressure bomb after we cleared everyone out. Who knows how long it was there, it's inconceivable how no one else stepped on it before we got there, there were so many people there that day. That means, somehow, it wasn't primed until after we cleared the building." said Emily.
"Is that even possible?" asked Will.
"It shouldn't be, unless...unless he somehow managed to delay it, but I've never seen anything like it in my whole career, I'll take another look at the bomb later." said Derek.
"I know you were sleeping buddy but we gotta go somewhere." said JJ as she reentered the room carrying Henry.
"Where?" mumbled Henry sleepily, rubbing his eyes.
"Momma's work, you're gonna hang out with Aunt Penny for a little bit." said JJ, but Henry had already fallen back asleep.
"We'd better get going." said Emily softly.
"JJ, Henry and I can take my car and we'll follow you." said Will.
The team finally gathered in the conference room, the meeting started
"Our unsub is FBI, he has a high enough clearance to be able to access all of our files and has enough skill in technology to disguise his voice when talking on the phone." said Emily.
"How do we know this?"
"He called my cell, the personal one I keep for emergencies, I reported the number to the bureau when I got it in case anything ever happened." explained JJ.
"So that's why Will and Henry are here." said Rossi, it was more of a statement than a question.
"Yes." said JJ.
"Should all our families go into protective custody?" asked Reid, thinking about his mother back in Las Vegas.
"Up to you, use your best judgement." said Hotch, suddenly his phone rang.
"Excuse me...Hotchner"
-It's Jack, I left him alone for one minute and he's gone. The back door's open, I didn't hear a thing I don't know what to do. It was Beth on the phone Hotch froze.
"What?" he asked, his voice dangerously low.
-Jack's gone, I'm so sorry I don't know what happened.
"Diall 911, and then start calling up his friends. I will be there as soon as I can." said Hotch.
"What's going on?" asked Rossi.
"Jack's gone missing, Beth left the room for a minute and he was gone."
"Do you think it was our Unsub?" asked Emily, suddenly Derek's phone rang.
"Unknown number." Morgan read aloud.
"Answer it." urged Reid, Morgan did.
-The famous seven, of the BAU.
Three with children, for now that's true
One so far, than two, than three.
How many more until you catch me?
The caller hung up.
"Three with children, am I missing something here?" asked Emily.
"I have Henry, Hotch has Hack...Em you said you got an abortion, he can't be counting that."
"It's mine, I have a daughter. I didn't find out about her until recently, but I added her as an emergency contact in my file." said Rossi.
"How old is she?" asked Emily.
"23, her name is Joy." said Rossi
"Let's get going, well take two cars." said Hotch.
"I'll drive," said Morgan and Rossi, everyone nodded assent.
Will, Garcia and Henry stayed at the BAU, while on the way to Hotch's house, Reid phoned the hospital and left strict instructions that his mother was to stay inside and arranged for a guard to discreetly watch her. Rossi called his daughter, explained the situation as best as he could and asked her to promise to be careful. He also old her that she could go into witness protection if she wanted, but she declined and promised she would be careful.
Will lightly on Garcia's office door, Henry was asleep on the small couch in there.
"After what happened, I'm don't want to let Henry out of my sight. Do you mind if I stay in here while you work?" he asked her.
"Not at all, I can't believe it myself and frankly I wouldn't mind the company. Safety in numbers, right?" said Garcia.
"Right." answered Will.
Review?
Thanks for reading.
A/N I will not write out Hotch.
