Chapter Six:

Sakura tossed and turned all night, her mind troubled and her heart aching in her chest. Pictures of Sasuke clouded her mind. The night he left her played in constant precession in her dreams making her body twist in her sheets and writhe like a snake. Sweat beaded her forehead and flesh, soaking her bed sheets and making her sticky.

She was crying. Forever crying, her endless tears staining her cloths.

"But why…Sasuke…" Her voice cracked around her words.

"I am an avenger, Sakura." He his words gave her pauses, even though his back was still facing her, "I must get revenge for my parents and clan."

The tears that rained from her eyes felt so real. She could taste the sorrow and smell the salt. Her eyes stun to the point she was constantly blinking to try and escape the pain and she was having trouble breathing. She could feel her heart hammering in her chest, making her whimper her displeasure.

"Sakura." He called, "Thank you."

He was fading in and out. She could almost see the landscape through his face and his favorite white shorts were almost invisible. Yet, even though she could hardly see the boy she loved, she could still smell his unique scent. She always associated fresh air and freshly cut grass to Sasuke.

"Sasuke!" She cried.

She shot bolt upright on her bed, her hands clutching her cover tight enough that she could feel her nails bite into her palm through the thick blanket. The dream was fresh in her mind, as she gasped desperately to force air into her lungs. She remembered everything. The way her salty tears sprang free from her eyes. The way his name caressed her tongue every time she uttered it. Though the way he kissed her stuck out the most in her dream.

"Sasuke." She whispered.

Sakura slid off the edge of her bed and rushed into the bathroom, slamming the door behind her before she could even turn the light on. Little did she know clever green eyes watched her every move from behind wire rimmed glasses, just outside her bedroom window. A sly smirk parted the persons pale mouth, though once the bathroom door swung open the person quickly moved into the shadows and disappeared from view.

Sakura shoved the last of her important personal belongings into her black back pack. She pulled the draw string tight, before pushing the button down to secure in and slung the pack over her shoulder. She took a quick glance around her room to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything, it was at that moment she noticed the picture of Cell Seven still sitting on her bed side table. She smiled slightly as she pulled it free from its silver frame and tucked it into the pocket of her pants.

The pink haired kunoichi paused outside the front door of her apartment only long enough to lock the door and wave a quick good bye.

Ino's words echoed in her in her mind as she walked at a carefully measured pace down the road cutting through the center of Konoha, as if they were just spoken mere moments ago. Sakura knew Sasuke was still alive, she could feel it in her bones.

"I found everything I wanted." Ino continued, "I hope you can find the same."

Sakura smiled, "I will Ino. I will."

Sasuke…I am coming to find you. She thought, her speed picking up when she noticed the main gate in the not so distant distance.
