Happy New Years, everyone. Ah, I finally got a chance to update something on New Years, but only to be disappointed. Since my laptop defies time, my clock is three hours late. Of course, I had a different watch on me to see the right time. But when I updated a story, it was still set on Dec. 31. Huge disappointment. Anyways, enjoy today's update.

Chapter 14: Goodbye Romeo and Juliet II

Matthew is upset. No, that wasn't what he was feeling right now. He is infuriated. He has to spend the day in the dark, not having any contact with his parents. The worst part was that he's stuck with Dino the entire time until it's over. He didn't seem to agree or like with the idea. Actually, he hates it. The baby puffed out his rosy cheeks and pouted a little.

'I want Mama Tsuna and Papa Yamamoto...' He thought miserably.

Matthew suddenly had an idea. The baby boy fidgets on the blond bronco's lap to catch his attention. Dino looked down to his lap because of Matthew's odd actions. The baby boy pointed and cooed to the front. Dino got the hint that the boy wanted to move closer. And so he did.

There were a few empty seats in the front that he could choose from. He could hear whispers coming from a group of housewives not too far. They were mostly talking about some of their children that are on stage or working at the back. Dino smiled to himself when he knew at least three of the important students. Matthew began bouncing on his lap with glee and awing. At least, Dino didn't have to worry about the baby causing a fuss if he's happy.

The curtain rolled open and the play began.

Tsuna was sitting by himself in the backyard of his 'home'. The surrounding was dark while the spotlight was on the brunet. He was staring down at his dress, sorrowfully.

"I'm a complete idiot. I can't believe I fell in love with the Montague's son... What am I going to do?"

Another spotlight landed on Yamamoto minutes later. He was leaning coolly on the cardboard tree as best as he can. It clearly showed that the cardboard tree was not stable. Other than that, everything looked normal. Everyone in the audience could notice how attentive he was on the brunet. He stood there, listening to the brunet's monologue.

"Even though, he's my enemy... I can't stop my heart from beating so fast whenever I think of him... Am I really in love with him?" Tsuna asked himself.

"Well, I hope so. Because my love won't be one-sided."

Tsuna stood up from the stone bench and turned around. He looked shock. Yamamoto smiled tenderly at the reaction and moved forward. When he was close enough, he settled a hand on Tsuna's cheek, caressing it gently. Tsuna blushed at the action.

"You're not the only one feeling like that. I fell for you the minute I laid my eyes on you. The desire to hold and love you... It won't go away."

"And, yet, do you know you're falling for an enemy? If our parents were to know this, they would never approve. No one would..."

"Opinions of others doesn't concern me. All I need is you to be mine."

Yamamoto pulled the brunet into a warm embrace. For a minute there, his heart really did skip a beat. His already blushing cheeks turned into a deeper shade of red. He could still feel his heart pounding on his chest. He just hoped Yamamoto didn't hear any of it.

"If I have you, I would be the happiest man alive."

"Even if the world force us apart...? Even if... The chances of being together is impossible...?" Tsuna whispered.

"I would fight to the very end for us. I'll even take the littlest chance I have to be with you."

The two of them pulled away slowly. Tsuna could hear his heart beating next to his ear. He wasn't just feeling it. Yamamoto was looking at him with loving eyes and that gentle smile of his. It was hard to even believe that they're in a play, acting as lovers. The thought of it almost slipped out of his head when Yamamoto pressed their forehead together.

"The mere thought of not making you mine pains me... Marry me... Marry me and become my wife."

"T-That's too sudden! I can't possibly do something like that too soon. We're too young for this. We're not ready..."

"But I won't feel satisfied if you're not mine. Not until you vow to me... I'll find someone that's willing to marry us. All I need is your approval."

Tsuna stared at Yamamoto. He knew he was supposed to say yes. He had to. Yet, his voice wouldn't work. It just won't come out. Yamamoto pulled away from the brunet and stared down at him. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to wait for the response or if he should do something else to get the 'yes' for the play. Tsuna allowed himself to smile to his friend.

"Yes, of course, I'll marry you." He nodded.

Yamamoto smiled widely in response. He quickly said that he'll find someone that can marry them tomorrow. Until then, Tsuna should wait for him. The brunet agreed nevertheless. The two of them parted. Tsuna returned to the 'party' on his left side. And Yamamoto waved goodbye to him to meet with his friends on the right. The lights turned off and the curtains closed.

"Those two are really something." Dino mumbled.

Tsuna was running to the other side of the stage. Stage crew are hurrying along to change the current setting as fast as they could, quietly. The teacher was calling for the next scene's characters. Everyone was trying their best not to run anyone over. Yamamoto was heading on stage to get to his next scene. Tsuna stopped him midway to give him his praises.

"You're doing really great, Yamamoto. Good luck on the next one."

"Thanks, Tsuna. And good luck with yours too." He smiled.

And the two of them went off to their stations. The teacher was trying to summarize the next scene to the required students. They all quietly gave him the okay that they understood what they needed to do. They all rushed off to where they are supposed to go on stage, making little noises as they can. Tsuna never knew how tiresome acting could be. And if someone asked him to do it again, he's going to say no.

Everything was done by the time the curtains opened again. Tsuna stayed in the sidelines to watch what was going on. The spotlight was on Yamamoto as he was talking with a baseball mate who's playing Friar Lawrence. They spoke casually like they normally do on the field and brought up the topic of marriage. That caused the brunet to think about it too. He was going to 'marry' Yamamoto soon. If felt a bit ironic because they're playing as Matthew's parents.

'Yamamoto and I getting married... As if something like that would ever happen...' He thought.

Matthew was pouting again when the curtains closed again. He is no longer satisfied with sitting up front. No, he wants to actually be with his parents. He doesn't want to sit around with his uncle Dino anymore. He crossed his little arms together and puffed out his cheeks as much as possible. Apparently, that caught some of the housewives' attention.

One woman came to them. She was as tall as Nana, Tsuna's mother. She had shoulder length black hair and brown eyes. She looked like she was in her thirties. She asked Dino if she could hold him for a few minutes. Dino hesitantly agreed and handed the baby boy over to the nameless woman. She cooed and made bubbly noises to Matthew. He found it amusing until he got an idea. The room darkened and the curtains opened once more.

"You're such a cute baby. I wonder if that's your daddy or if he's your big brother." She smiled.

Matthew held the urge to wail from her calling Dino his 'daddy'. Yamamoto is and will remain his 'daddy' until he says so. The baby boy pointed to the stage where Tsuna and Yamamoto stood, getting ready to get married. She caught the hint and approached the stage. Tsuna caught sight of the baby, but ignored him. Matthew didn't like being ignored. He burst out crying as loud as he could get. That obviously got everyone's attention.

The students acting returned to playing their parts, including Yamamoto and Tsuna. And the woman holding Matthew was trying her best to calm the baby. The more Tsuna and Yamamoto ignored them, the louder he got. Dino came in to handle the situation himself. Clearly, that didn't work nor please the crying baby. The two main actors shared worried glances before silently agreeing on something.

Tsuna turned around to the audience and bent down to the edge. He called over to Dino for him to hand over Matthew. Hesitantly, Dino did so. Matthew's cries soon died down when he saw Tsuna through his teary eyes. The brunet walked over to Yamamoto. The taller male smiled and tickled the baby lightly. Matthew smiled and giggled from their attention. The other students were confused and tried to adjust to the sudden change.

"Romeo and Juliet later celebrated together after having a baby from their long marriage." 'Friar Lawrence cheered.

Tsuna adjusted the baby in his arms and walked off the stage in his wedding dress. Yamamoto joined him in his own tuxedo. Friar Lawrence continued to cheer for them both along with Kyoko. She was throwing white petals as much as she could next to Friar Lawrence. And the curtain closed with the audience confused at the sudden change of the play.

"What in the world were you thinking, Sawada? Taking a baby, changing the plot! And, again, the baby!" The teacher exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, but I couldn't just let him cry like that. He needs me." Tsuna explained.

"Needs you...? That's your baby?"

"Well, actually... It's hard to explain the situation right now. But, please, he won't stop crying if he's not with me."

"Fine, fine. We'll just cut the play short. Juliet, Romeo, Friar Lawrence, Nurse, Capulet, and Montague on stage!"

Matthew was quietly watching students running around. Tsuna was sitting at the far back, about to join the rest. Yamamoto approached him and took Matthew away from the tired brunet. He said that Tsuna should take it easy and that he'll take care of the baby from now on. Tsuna smiled and nodded in agreement.

The teacher was trying to get his voice heard through the busy students. Because of Matthew, the scene they're going to do is the last one. Juliet and Romeo have to find a way to end the feud between the two families. And once they do, it's over. Yamamoto and Tsuna joined the final characters. They were both surprised that Gokudera were with them. Apparently, he was now taking over Tybalt. Tsuna knew that getting rid of the feud is going to be harder. Tsuna requested Yamamoto to give him Matthew. His friend did so with slight hesitation.

The curtains opened the final time. The background was still the church. And Tsuna and Yamamoto were wearing their uniform. Kyoko was standing next to the brunet, wearing her own uniform. Yamamoto's baseball mate, Capulets, Montague, and Gokudera were wearing tuxedo and formal dresses. The fathers of Capulet and Montague were being played by Yamamoto's baseball teammates. And Capulet's mother was Hana, Kyoko's best friend. The Montague's mother was played by a fellow classmate. Gokudera stepped forward with a stern stare.

"This marriage and that baby, I will never approve of this! For Juliet to be forced to give birth to a Montague insults us Capulets!" Gokudera exclaimed.

"We never intended to insult anyone because of this. Our child was born based on love. Everything up until now is for love." Yamamoto answered.

"Love...? Don't flatter yourself Montague! My daughter should have married Paris. Not you and have that child!" Hana roared back.

"Mother, please! Romeo and I love each other. I can never love another man if it's not him. And Matthew is our bundle of joy." Tsuna said.

"Bundle of joy...? Are you hearing this nonsense? Juliet, how could you conceive a child of a Montague? I will never accept this!" Capulet hissed.

Tsuna gasped at the horrible nature of his 'parents'. He took a step closer to Yamamoto, hiding the baby in his arms. Yamamoto could notice how uncomfortable the brunet was. He turned his attention back to the actors in front of him. Kyoko stood in the middle, trying to ease the negativity with Friar Lawrence. It didn't seem to work when Gokudera spoke up.

"Who allowed this marriage anyway? Was it you, Friar Lawrence? I should have your head for this!" Gokudera growled.

"It's already too late, Tybalt. The deed have been done. Juliet, you're given two choices for this." Hana informed.

"You either leave that boy and child and marry Paris or you're banish from Verona!" Capulet said, darkly.

"I would never leave my husband and child behind for another man! Never!" Tsuna exclaimed.

"Then, banishment for you! I never want to see your face here ever again!" Juliet's father roared.

The argument continued on. Matthew, unable to understand, clearly knew that they're fighting. His brown eyes wandered to his mama's face and saw how upset he was. He turned to his papa to see the same expression. He pouted a little. Gokudera was raging on about how Juliet not deserving such punishment and suggested that Romeo and Matthew should be. The Montague stepped in to argue their case. They weren't going to allow that.

"Why should our son suffer from your daughter's mistake? This wouldn't have happened if your daughter didn't have that baby! No, she shouldn't have seduced our son!" Lady Montague hissed.

"Mother, she never seduced me. If anyone did, it was me." Yamamoto answered.

"You hear that? It's your pathetic son's fault!" Capulet howled.

"Stop it, Father! Why can't you be happy for Romeo and I? We got married and had a child together because we love each other." Tsuna said.

The arguments abruptly stopped because of Matthew's crying. The fighting and violent voices got to him. He couldn't handle it anymore. And he could see that his papa and mama didn't either. Tsuna drew the baby closer to his chest and rocked him gently. Yamamoto joined in by wrapping an arm over Tsuna's shoulder and using the other hand to pat Matthew's back. All eyes were on them. The crying slowly faded when Matthew noticed it was quiet.

To everyone, they looked like a normal family.

Gokudera sighed and walked over to them. He wrapped his hands around the baby and put him in his arms. He smiled gently at the baby boy.

"Sorry about that. Did we upset you?" He asked kindly.

The male that was playing Friar Lawrence and Kyoko took their chance to speak.

"I allowed them to marry each other based on love. It was not to insult any family." Friar Lawrence explained.

"We saw how caring they were to each other. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have hid it from you, Lady Capulet!" Kyoko informed.

"And we hoped that this child would bring the family together. To end this petty feud between both families."

"Mother, Father, I do not regret my choice in marry Juliet. And if any of you tear us apart, I'll fight you." Yamamoto

warned.

Kyoko looked from Yamamoto and Tsuna to the other characters. They still technically didn't end the feud between both family. And if that didn't, she doesn't know what will. The Montague and Capulet didn't say anything. Kyoko was praying that Hana would agree to end it for a happy ending for everyone. Gokudera returned Matthew safely back to Tsuna. He soon took his place next to Lady Capulet.

"It can't be help, can it? My precious cousin married someone useless and had his child. No choice but to accept it right, Uncle, Aunt?" Gokudera asked.

Tsuna and Yamamoto mentally rejoiced over Gokudera's words. The two of them waited for the others to respond. And they were hoping that they would also accept them as well. Hana looked away from Gokudera to Yamamoto and Tsuna. She shrugged her shoulders and wrapped an arm over her husband. She sighed tiredly before speaking.

"Darling, this is tiring. All this ridicules fighting with the Montague... Can't we just end it for our daughter's sake? She seems happy with her choice." Hana insisted in a bored manner.

"I agree. At least I don't have to worry about grandchildren. Honey, let's give up this unnecessary feud and allow our son to start his own life." Lady Montague smiled.

The Fathers of both family became hesitant. They exchanged glances between their wives and children. Capulet walked over to Tsuna and settled a hand on his shoulder. He smiled and wished him to lead a happy life. The brunet's eyes widened. He immediately thank his father. Tsuna took a step closer to Yamamoto, allowing Matthew in between them. Montague sighed before saying the same thing.

Tsuna turned to his husband with a wide smile.

"They accepted us and Matthew. We don't have anything to worry anymore."

"Yeah, we can live in peace." Yamamoto smiled back.

"Well, for now. If you do anything to harm Juliet, I'd kill you on the spot." Gokudera warned.

All of them burst out laughing. The curtain dropped as their laughter gradually faded. They could hear the audience clapping and cheering. Everything ended without much trouble. Tsuna was very thankful for that.

Tsuna and Yamamoto are in their shared room, preparing for the night. The brunet pulled the blanket over his shoulders after settling down. Yamamoto had already made himself comfortable on the bed. He had his usual wide smile on. He turned to his close friend.

"The play ended great. Our teacher was so happy with the results, he gave everyone passing grades."

"Yeah, but that was so tiring. I'm never doing that again." Tsuna huffed.

"Haha, I knew you'd say that. But I'm a bit sad. I wasn't able to play Tsuna's husband properly."

"D-Don't say weird stuff l-like that. I-It's embarrassing!"

Yamamot merely laughed at Tsuna's embarrassed response. The two of them said goodnight and turned off the lights. The brunet rolled on his side, deep in thought. He shouldn't take what Yamamoto say seriously. The thought instantly vanished when he felt his body being dragged backwards. He felt Yamamoto's chest on his back and his waist being firmly hugged. He blushed.

'Really... This is hardly considered a friendly gesture anymore.'

Yes, the end! I guess this is a long one compared to the rest. I hope you enjoyed it. Because I'm tired. Just one more story and I'm done. Anyways, thanks for reading and please review. Happy New Years!
