Chapter 16: Fix It

Tsuna slid down to the floor, his back against the door. His hand clenched tightly on his chest. He could practically feel his heart jumping out. He recalled the recent event and blushed harshly, face completely red. He couldn't believe something like that happened. That shouldn't have happened. The brunet tried to deny and dismiss it as a joke. However, that didn't stop his cheeks rising in temperature and heart beating rapidly.

"W-Why would he... Do that?" Tsuna murmured.

The next morning was painfully awkward. Tsuna decided to take care of Matthew before heading out to school. Dino had to take the brunet's seat next to the Rain guardian. The two students ignored each other and went on doing their own thing. Dino glanced at both of them, curious. He had found himself suddenly awaken last night by a familiar voice screaming. However, the fact that Matthew was not abruptly awaken from it was beyond him.

"So, uh... What happened last night?" Dino asked, cautiously.

"Nothing... Absolutely nothing." Tsuna answered.

"But what about that scream? I thought―"

"Please... Just drop it. Nothing happened, I just fell, and I don't want to talk about this."

Everything went back to normal; quiet and awkward. Matthew didn't seem to mind the situation he was in. He enjoyed himself being fed by his Mama Tsuna. Yamamoto quickly finished his breakfast and said that he'll be waiting outside. Dino gave him a short stare before turning to his younger brother. The brunet didn't bother to spare a glance. He could hear a baby whining a little from his papa's absence.

"Isn't it too early to be defensive in the morning, little bro?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Geez, something definitely happened to get you like this. Did he mess up or did you? Bad kisser or something...?"

Dino's eyes widened. Tsuna was blushing. His blush reached to his ears, making it visibly red. That caught Dino by surprise. Tsuna slid the baby food down to Dino and excused himself from the table. He made an excuse that he shouldn't keep Yamamoto waiting outside. And he doesn't want to be late for school. Matthew stretched out his little arms and whined openly, showing his protest.

"B-Be careful then, Tsuna."

"Thanks... I'll see you after school."

And he was gone. Dino merely stared at the quiet Matthew. The baby did the same to his Uncle. They were trying to see if one of them could answer what just happened. The blond bronco scratched the back of his head in frustration. He couldn't believe how low he's sinking in to insanity. He really shouldn't expected a baby to talk and help him with his troubles. He could have guessed the something did happen last night and knew it was his fault.

He banged his head on the table.

"Matthew, what do you think I should?"

'Hurry up and feed me!'

The walk to school was quiet and awkward. It was no different at home. The brunet was thankful when Gokudera stepped in and began conversing with him. He wasn't sure what he would have done without him. Yamamoto was walking by his side, listening. He didn't bother inviting himself in to their chat. That continued on until they reached their class. The three of them sat down on their seats and the day resumed as the teacher took attendance.

Tsuna glanced behind him. He noticed a small textbook standing up. Yamamoto had already went to sleep. He turned back to the front.

'Is it just me that's overreacting?'

"... That's how you get to this formula. And you have to divide this to get the answer. Yamamoto, answer the next question."

The command woke the Rain guardian easily. Yamamoto stood up straight from his seat. He looked at the blackboard with a confused expression. He guessed the answer and the teacher merely said that he was correct. Yamamoto silently cheered to himself before sitting down. A few students cheered and laughed. The teacher settled them down and started over his lesson.

Tsuna found himself unable to concentrate. He scribbled on his notebook, stared out the window, and daydreamed most of the time. Even when he did, he would be caught staring at the board in a daze at times. He doesn't know what to do with himself anymore. His mind was somewhere else, he knew at least that.

'It was a pity that I couldn't say something did happen. Maybe we should... Right now.'

It was practically echoing inside his head. It was almost like those words set themselves on repeat. Tsuna closed his eyes, trying to calm himself. He shouldn't have let it bother him. If he mention it, Yamamoto would dismiss it and tell him it meant nothing. He can't allow himself to think it meant something else. It was a prank or a joke.

The bell rung to signal lunch.

Tsuna opened his eyes. The teacher dismissed the class to leave. The brunet could see Yamamoto and Gokudera approaching him. He stood up from his seat. The two guardians suggested that they go eat at the rooftop like usual. Tsuna kindly refused, saying he's not feeling well. Gokudera tensed up and tried to take the brunet to the Nurse's Office. Tsuna shook off the offer and decided to go there by himself. The two guardians did nothing as they watch their boss leave the room.

Shamal wasn't in the room. The brunet could have easily guessed the perverted man went out to flirt. He rolled on his side and closed his eyes. He slowly pulled the thin blanket over his shoulder. His body felt heavy. He wasn't sure why he felt like this before settling down in the Nurse's Office. Distracted, Tsuna failed to hear the door opening and closing. Yamamoto quietly approached the bed, staring at the brunet's back.

"Tsuna, can we talk...?"

Tsuna rolled on his back to see Yamamoto. He quickly sat up on the bed and straighten himself.

"Yeah, sure... What is it?"

"It's about last night. I guess I went too far. I hope you can forget about it and pretend it never happened."

"It's fine... But isn't it a bit... Unfair that you're doing this to me? You can give someone the wrong idea if this keeps up."

"I know. That's why I'm sorry. I won't do that again... Will you forgive me?"

Tsuna stared at his best friend for a minute. He slowly nodded his head and smiled. He gave Yamamoto a pat on the arm to assure him that he's forgiven. Yamamoto returned the smile by doing the same. To disrupt the moment, a cheerful Gokudera stepped into the room. His arms were holding a large amount of bought bread from the school.

"Tenth, I got these for you. I hope you feel better!" He exclaimed.

He approached his boss and dropped the various breads on the bed. Tsuna laughed nervously as he wondered how he's going to eat it all. Yamamoto laughed cheerfully as he tries to take one. Gokudera growled at him, saying it's only for his precious Tenth.

The same morning, Romario came over with a message. Actually, a video message from Reborn. Dino was sitting in the living room, playing with a busy Matthew. Romario came over and said it was an important matter. He handed his boss his laptop and Reborn was on screen to greet him. The two of them had a long discussion about the current events that had occurred.

"So, that's what had happened when I left. Very well... Dino, I suggest that you stop involving yourself in my useless student's love life. It'll handle itself."

"Understood... But how come you're contacting us now? Did something happen during your vacation?"

"You can say that. A stupid cow can't seem to handle his belongings properly. So, the Ten Year Bazooka is going to be under your temporary care."

"I guess that explains it. Okay, you don't have to worry about anything. I'll take care of the Ten Year Bazooka, Reborn."

Reborn merely have him an 'hmph' and ended the chat. The screen went blank as the blond bronco closed the laptop. Romario gave his boss a large box that contained the bazooka as he took the laptop. He gave Dino a low bow before leaving. Dino entered the kitchen and settled it on the table. He opened lid and stared at the large purple device. He shook his head at the sight of it.

"This thing sure brings a lot of trouble to anyone." He sighed.

Dino almost jumped when he heard a baby crying. The blonde bronco ran over to Matthew and picked him up. He pat gently on his back, trying to calm him. Yet, the baby didn't show any sign of quieting down. He sometimes wished that he could understand what the baby wants.

'I want that toy!' He cried.

Tsuna and Yamamoto waved goodbye to Gokudera as they separated. With that, the two students became quiet. They no longer felt the awkward atmosphere like this morning. It was actually peacefully. Tsuna took it into consideration as he thought of his family. Once they come back, days like these will never come again. And he dread over the idea of what Reborn has in store for him. The brunet held back a shiver.

"Hey, Tsuna, what do you feel like eating? I'm cooking tonight."

"Oh, Yamamoto's sushi are the best! I want to eat those."

"Coming right up, boss." Yamamoto smiled.

The two caught sight of their house and decided to run the rest off. They reached the door, unlocked it, and walked in. They abruptly stopped moving as they heard a loud poof coming from the living room. The two boys removed their shoes before rushing to the living room.

They nearly gasped.

Tsuna paled at the sight of pink smoke engulping the living room. The pink smoke gradually disappeared as they entered the area. Dino was lying on the floor, holding his aching head. The two students approached him and asked if he was okay. Dino merely nodded his head before sitting up.

"Where's Matthew?" Tsuna asked, worried.

"Well, about that..." Dino started.

"Don't tell me something happened to him!" Yamamoto exclaimed.

"I wouldn't say that. It's just that..."

Dino slowly pointed to the kitchen. Yamamoto and Tsuna turned their attention to an unexpected guest. They were expecting to see a baby boy. It came as a surprise to see a tall eleven year old boy. He was an ordinary boy with black hair and light brown eyes. At first, the nameless boy looked confused until he saw the three males on the floor. He smiled happily at them.

"Uncle Dino, Papa Yamamoto, Mama Tsuna, I came over to visit!"

The three of them had their eyes widened.

This nameless boy was Matthew.

That's about it. I'll see you guys later in the next update.
