Hey guys. I just wanna let you all know something... I mostly relied on 'head-banging-on-wall' and music to get this update done. So... This is going to either go crappy or good.

Chapter 21: Mukuro's Target

Tsuna had found himself in a stressful position since his father's arrival. He cares for the man like any son would, but his intuition was screaming danger. He personally didn't know why. That led him to constantly watch his father whenever the baby was around. Dino and Yamamoto were becoming aware of what he was doing and said nothing. However, they did see how it was driving the brunet to madness.

Last night, Tsuna thought it would be best to have Matthew sleep with him. Yamamoto didn't object much to it. However, when he wakes up on occasions, he noticed how the brunet would still remain awake late at night. He would gently rub the baby's arm while he hummed a lullaby. The Rain guardian hasn't said anything about that yet. It was becoming more of a concern than it should be.

"Tsuna, I think we need to talk..." Yamamoto said.

"What is it?"

They were in the baby's room. Tsuna was carefully holding Matthew as he held the stuffed lion with the other hand. The baby busied himself by trying to whack the head, playfully.

"I don't know the exact reason as to why you're doing this. But I'm saying it now; stop it."

"What do you mean 'stop it'? I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary."

"Yes, you are. You're stressing yourself from constantly watching Matthew in case your dad does something."

"I know he's planning something. My intuition never was this alarmed. It's not even that bad when Mukuro appears around here somehow."

Yamamoto stared at Tsuna for a moment. The boy was distracting himself while playing with the baby, making small roaring sounds. Matthew cheered happily as his hands reached out to the stuffed toy. The Rain guardian merely sighed and left the room all together. Dino was on the other side of the door, arms crossed and serious. Yamamoto shook his head and Dino knew exactly what that meant. No good...

"What do you think we should do? Iemitsu just went out on some 'important mission'. I just think he's going out to buy something to send to Nana." Dino sighed.

"Tsuna isn't going anywhere without the baby. Until his dad is gone, he's going to watch Matthew twenty-four-seven."

"Obsession, basically. I can call my family to deliver some medication for this. One pill and lights out."

"I don't think Tsuna would appreciate being drugged. But I don't get it. He said that his intuition has been misbehaving since his dad arrived. Something must be wrong."

Dino shrugged to the comment and excused himself out of the hallway, planning something else. Yamamoto looked back at the door with a faint hope. He prayed that his friend would open the door and tell him everything is okay. Nothing happened. The Rain guardian turned on his heels and walked away. He has to find a way to make everything the way it was supposed to be.

The room was distasteful and old. The walls were, unexpectedly, darkening from neglect. It almost seems like the walls itself were crumpled on its' own accord, with chipped paint and abnormal holes. The tiles were covered in debris and dust. Some were loosened from the floor and were scattered around, occasionally missing a piece.

Iemitsu didn't find the setting suitable for any business deals. However, he held his tongue and stared at the girl in front of him. Chrome was sitting on a chair with her hands placed on her lap. Her trident was resting on the side in case she felt the need to use it.

"Chrome, was it? I apologize for the inconvenience of this business of ours. But it seems like I can't hold it off much longer."

She said nothing. Instead, she stared at him fully alarmed.

"There's nothing to worry about. This is more of a business between Mukuro and I, if you please..."

"What is it that you want from Mukuro-sama?"

"It's more of a task. This involves my son, Tsuna."

"Boss...?"

"Yes, and if you please..."

She bit her lips for a split second. She nodded her head and closed her eyes. The trident besides her began to quiver slightly in place. The disgusting room that felt empty became more unwelcoming. Now, Mukuro was sitting in front of him with his arms crossed against his chest and one leg over the other. He seemed less than interested as to why he was summoned. Iemitsu returned the blank expression with a bright smile. Mukuro took hold of his trident.

"I don't remember agreeing to the Mafia using me as their puppet." Mukuro hummed.

"That is true. Though, you might get some benefits from this."

Mukuro furrowed his eyebrows in curiosity. He told the man to continue with the details of what is expected of him. Iemitsu explained that the residence of the Sawada household were on vacation for the year. The only one that is home is Tsuna, Yamamoto, and Dino from a different family. A baby boy named Matthew was an addition. Mukuro listened carefully and nodded in understanding. Iemitsu settled his elbows on his knees, leaning forward. His eyes sharpened.

"So, what do you want me to do exactly?"

"It's simple. Kill the baby under Reborn's order. It shouldn't be too hard for a young man such as yourself. Considering your background..."

"I can easily do it. However, I don't see any benefit. The only thing I see is an innocent child's blood on my hands."

"If you succeed, this could lead you to battling my son. You did say you intended to destroy the Mafia using a powerful figure."

Mukuro tilted his head. It was true that he intended to destroy the Mafia. Tsuna, from his view, would be a perfect victim for it. He would be fully relying on his emotions instead of reasoning if he eliminates the child. That could give him access to controlling the body with ease. Mukuro smirked darkly. He slowly removes himself the old wooden chair. He pointed the trident towards Iemitsu. The man felt the sharp tip pressing against his throat. He didn't flinch or moved away. He sat still with a smile.

"You have yourself a deal."

Soon, the young guardian disappeared and was replaced with Chrome. The girl stood there in a daze. For a few minutes, she dropped her trident and fell to her knees. Chrome tried her best to collect oxygen into her lungs. Iemitsu helped the girl calm herself and excused himself. He gradually lost his smile as he rethought the plan. He hopes that things didn't take a worse turn.
