Chapter 33
Ziva was pacing in the bedroom, knowing that Tony had been talking to Gibbs since the message had been copied and shared. Abby had created a special way for the team to be able to talk to each other about the psycho that was after Ziva and anyone close to her. Abby wanted to make sure that whoever this was, since he seemed very tech saavy, that he couldn't learn anything that they knew or listen to anything that they talked about, she was going to outsmart this guy, she made that clear. Abby had been so angry and annoyed at the fact that the guy had gotten Ziva's new number, especially since Abby had done some serious blocking of anything Ziva lately, so Abby knew this guy had a mole inside NCIS somewhere or he had a connection somewhere they didn't know. Ziva knew there was even a chance that there wasn't a mole helping this guy, that this guy could be the inside man.
Ziva was waiting to be able to talk to Tony about what Gibbs thought and she started thinking about her father. Tony and Ziva had, had dinner with her father and surprisingly, Tony's father as well. The four of them had been sitting around and Ziva and Tony both had been shocked at how amazingly well that their fathers seemed to get along. By the end of the night they had all been laughing and enjoying each other's company, and Ziva was glad to see it, because it actually seemed that if and when they finally decided to have children, that they didn't have to worry about who was going to be with who on holidays, it seemed like if they kept getting along like this, that they could all be together for holidays. They even accepted that there were differences in beliefs and religion and that they would celebrate all holidays, to honor both sides of the family and both of their fathers seemed to accept that, much to Ziva's shock, it was like her father was a changed person, like he wanted to be a good and accepting person now, that he wanted to be a part of his daughters life and would accept what she felt was right.
Tony and Gibbs had been talking on the phone, but while Ziva was in the bedroom, Gibbs had apparently been making his way to their place. Tony opened the door when Gibbs told him to and saw his boss and mentor standing there. Tony sighed and motioned Gibbs inside, but he knew that everyone else would be there soon. When Gibbs headed to the kitchen to make coffee, Tony went to the bedroom to get his wife. As he thought about her as his wife, a goofy grin crossed his face and he realized he was finally at peace and so happy, he loved Ziva and he always wanted her to know that.
"Ziva…" Tony started but she interrupted him.
"Are you done talking with Gibbs? What did he say?" Ziva asked him, her arms crossed as she stood in front of him looking as fierce as she usually did when in Mossad mode.
"I am not done talking, because he is here, he just got here and he's making coffee, I thought you might want to come out and talk as well." Tony said, knowing if he had tried to hide Gibbs being there than there would be nothing but trouble for him, he would be in the doghouse for sure.
Ziva smiled, realizing that Tony was learning very quickly what was not going to work with her and what would work with her. She wasn't sure what was really bothering her but she had a really horrible feeling in the pit of her stomach, like there was something that she should know about or should have anticipated happening. She had been worried about the security where her father was, but he had some of the best from Mossad working there and she knew they were highly trained, she was highly trained. She was still worried that someone that was close to them might be behind the threats and he might get close to her father, but she knew that he would be killed before he could actually harm her father, so she wasn't sure what she was so worried about.
He knew she was expecting he would go after her father, but that too obvious and he didn't go for the obvious target, at least not all the time. He had thought about the new team mates or maybe one of her old team mates, but then he learned about something that Ziva wasn't even aware of yet and that meant he had a perfect target, a target she wouldn't know about and one that would cause massive issues with her and all she was about. He was sure that when she learned about who his target was, then she was going to be unsure, she was going to try and push certain people away and that was what he wanted.
"Soon I will have torn your life apart and soon you will see that you never had a chance, that happiness was something you didn't deserve, that you haven't earned the right for." He said as he looked over the pictures of his target, and he thought about all the chaos this was about to cause for Ziva David-DiNozzo.
Ziva knew that there was something bad about to happen and apparently she wasn't the only one. She could see that Gibbs's gut was also alerting him that there was something about to happen or something in progress at the moment. Ziva could tell that Gibbs was not happy that they had no leads but she could also see he was concerned about something, and it was that concern that worried her. Gibbs had to know something that she didn't know, and she wondered if her father knew something about who this person was and hadn't told her, no matter how many times she had asked him, he still refused.
Ziva nearly jumped when the landline phone rang and she got up and walked over and answered it, hoping it wasn't going to be news about another crime scene. She wasn't working with Gibbs any longer, the scenes technically weren't hers, but she did go so she could help with certain information, as long as she didn't touch anything, since she was the target, she couldn't taint the evidence.
"DiNozzo residence." Ziva answered the phone, seeing the happiness on Tony's face as she answered the phone.
"I have a new gift for you. Wait till you see and learn about this one my sweet." The voice that was clearly disguised said. Ziva was glad that their phone calls were automatically being taped and traced and her head popped up as she nodded slowly at Gibbs and Tony.
"What would that be?" Ziva asked softly.
"I haven't dropped it for you yet, but when I do, you are going to be so, well, I can't wait to see what you are." The voice laughed and then hung up and all Ziva could do was stare at the phone as a chill ran down her spine, this was really bad.
