Chapter 25

The three Origumo siblings stood outside a weird looking building that had doll heads and chicken bones hanging from the ceiling, like wind chimes.

"This place looks interesting." Naraku looked down at his side when Kana tugged his sleeve. The ghostly girl had a distress look on her doll like face.

"Do we have to visit grandma? She's crazy."

"Grandma's not crazy. She is psychic."

"No she's not. I can't believe you bought into that. Listen Kana, she's a crazy lady who was disowned by her family for constantly embarrassing them. Father forbade us from ever contacting her for a reason. She actually dug up her father's corps and took one of his bones for some kind of boo do spell. Little kids don't go by her house on Halloween because she hands out locks of her hair."

Naraku kneeled down and grabbed Kana's tiny hands. Fall was unusually cold this year and he could see her breath. He noted that he would have to buy his sisters some new jackets.

"Listen Kana, Grandma Haraiya has the gift. Every prediction she has ever made has come true in one way or another. She predicted dad's downfall six months before it happened and she told me at my wedding to Sango that are marriage wouldn't last. She can cast luck spells and tell the weather more accurately than any man made machine. When she was young she would perform exposits on ghost and seal demons away. They called her Madame Exorcist."

Kagura had her arms folded and was rolling her eyes. "First off anyone could predict dad would finally get caught and I could have told you things wouldn't work out with Sango. You were bound to mess it up and Indians could tell the weather by just looking at the sky and feeling the wind. If she could really see the future she would win the lottery and not live in such a beat up building."

"It doesn't work that way Kagura. Now let's go inside. It's cold." He leads Kana inside the strangely decorated building while Kagura stubbornly stood on the sidewalk, till her boredom and a chilly wind caused her to follow them.

The door was open and the only alert to their arrival was a tiny bell.

"What a surprise, I wasn't expect a visit from all my grandkids." An old lady came walking out a room. Her hair was wrapped in bandana and she was wearing a priestess robe. She quickly came up and hugged Naraku than Kana and finally she hugged an annoyed Kagura.

"I'm surprised you didn't hear our names in wind." Kagura grumbled.

"Oh I heard Naraku's last night. But I wasn't expecting my granddaughters to join him. Come, come, sit. I was just finishing up with a client."

Naraku didn't miss the coincidence that his grandmother said she heard his name the night he and Sesshoumaru... had relations.

A man walked out one of the rooms. "Are you sure my wife's not having an affair?" he asked.

"Of course I am. She only wants you" patting his back and taking his money Haraiya showed him out her apartment. With a swift turn she sighed deeply before shaking her head. "Poor man. His wife's at home doing the pizza girl."

Naraku coughed to cover his laugh. "So why didn't you tell him?"

"People don't pay for bad news; they pay for good news."

She sat them down on the futons and served them some tea. Kagura of course refused to drink it claiming the color was strange. Kana seemed to fallow her lead. Only the eldest dared to try it and even he couldn't finish it due to the bitterness.

"You could imagine how scared I was when I heard your name whispered into my ear on Halloween night."

Swallowing hard Naraku realized that he should have left his sisters at home. "Au- Kagura why don't you and Kana go pick up us a pizza. Here." Pulling out a twenty-dollar bill, it was snatched up by his eldest sister.

"Gladly. Come one sis."

"Wait for me. I have short legs."

When they exited the house Haraiya chuckled. "That Kagura, she'd got her mom's looks but her dad's bad attitude. But you Naraku, you are so much like my son; I fear you would end up like him. He never listened to me, called me crazy, wanted to put me in a retirement home. Told him to kiss my ass right then and there. Oh another thing you have Naraku, you have my sass."

"Grandma, there's a reason I'm here."

The old women pulled out a box of cigarettes and gave one to Naraku and took one for herself. "Of course there is. You never visit me unless you need help." She blew a puff of smoke in his face.

"That's untrue. I used to always visit you till dad…. You know." He looked down and twirled his thumbs. "Something happen to me last night. I slept with someone I shouldn't and I need help. I'm so confused."

Breathing deeply Haraiya pulled out a crystal ball from under the table. "Let's see what the spirts have to say."

"Just like when I was little huh. I guess you can't be the classics."

"Just shut your mouth and touch my ball." Snapping she put her smoke and tossed it in the trash.

Amused Naraku obeyed.

"Now calm yourself and open you mind."

Naraku watched carefully, fascinated how his grandma looked so deeply into the crystal ball seeing things only her eyes were capable of.

"I have a message from the unknown. The spirts say that something is coming for you. They say it's something from your past."

Now that was confusing. If it wasn't Sesshoumaru than what from his past would be coming from him. Maybe one of the guys he pissed off while working for his dad.

"I see you….. A shadow is looming over you. It's taken the form of a dog. I can see teeth. They are closing around you but they still haven't clamped on yet. That means there is still time to escape."

"What does this all mean"

"Quiet." She smacked him on the head making him cry out in pain. "I haven't finished yet."

Naraku grumbled but said nothing else.

"There is a spider. The spider is trapped in its own web. You have to beware of sink holes in lush fields."

With that she lowered his hands.

"That last one sounded like I have to be careful of things that are too good to be true or watch out for traps when everything seems fine."

His grandma smiled proudly at him. "Good, I thought for sure I have to explain that one to you. But be opened mind. With the spirts you never know what they really mean. Remember when you were a child and I had a vision of bees and birds?"

"Yea you thought it was a sign to give me the sex talk but it turned out to be a warning. That same week a sick bird crashed into a bee hive near the park where I playing causing them to attack all the kids. I had to be hospitalized for a few days."

She giggled recalling the memory. "Things are never simple with the spirts." Looking him straight in the eyes her expression turned more serious. "You know how I always told you your spirt animal is a spider."

"Yea, I'm guessing the spider in your vision is me."

"Be careful my kin. What I saw was dark."

"Thank you for the warning but none of that helped me with my problem. In fact, I think it only made things worse." Deep in thought Naraku now realized he had a much bigger problem than getting drunk and sleeping with his boss. But the first one was still really bad, bad like top ten fuck ups of his life bad.

"Now you know why I only give good news. But here's some helpful advice, always wear a condom."

The last thing she said sent a horrible electrical jolt of realization up his spine and caused a dark rain cloud to hover above him. He hadn't used a condom with Sesshoumaru. He was pissing his pants thinking about was all the horrible diseases that guy could have. It was well known that Sesshoumaru didn't sleep around much but what if it was because he had HIV or something and didn't want to spread it. Now he could have to go take a blood test and he'd have to pay it out his own pocket because he did have insurance.

Still in his self-created hell Naraku didn't notice when his sisters arrived till he was served a slice of pizza. The pizza went untouched since he felt sick. Kagura loudly claimed it must have been the tea but he suspected it was something else.

"Now Kana, let me hold your hand." Haraiya grabbed her hand.

"Ah I see your future. You will be a beautiful woman, with all the wisdom and grace of your mother. Did you know she was a ballerina? You will have your brother's wit and your father's strength plus a little bit of his ruthlessness. That's not a bad combination, you're lucky."

Kana let out a small smile. Her eyes widen slightly surprised that the women spoke of her future with such confidents.

"Just careful with your worlds, I see you becoming even blunter, and more to the point than you are now, and it's too bad you have your sisters jealously."

"And she your lovely sarcastic attitude." Her brother threw in. Kana simply looked at them and continued to smile. "I do not mind. All these things improve me."

"Do you want me to tell your future next Kagura?"

The oldest shrugged her shoulders and agreed. ´´Couldn't hurt." She reached out and touched the crystal ball while commenting on how cliché this all was.

"I see a young man in your life…. You love him and he loves you."

"Well that's nice to hear." She wined when Haraiya smacked her over the head for interrupting.

"I see a deep love there's just one problem…."

"Well" Kagura leaned in trying to see something in the ball herself, now interested with what the old women had to say.

"He's already married."

"HA HA HA HA HA, OCH!"

Naraku received another blow to the head by his grandma, and two from Kagura.
