Outside the window a shadow appeared, unbeknownst to the two struggling for control of the situation. It was clear to the shadow that the man-demon would win but he was interested more in the girl he struggled with. How could a human girl gain that much power? What was her secret?
The struggle continued for a solid 20 minutes before the demon chuckled and released the girl who was at her limit.
"Now miss, if you would excuse me." He smirked even wider as he gathered the cups of tea and left to the kitchen to clean up. The girl looked around dazed at what had happened, when she finally did realize she angrily slapped her hand on the coffee table, stood up and said something that looked offensive about the demon before slamming the door behind her. The shadow in the window grinned at the exchange, he was going to have to find out more about this girl. The figure didn't know if it was fate that brought him to this manor when this transpired but he was got going to ignore God's will. The transfer of power had to be stopped for good before anyone else got hurt.
Amari looked up at the roofs of the buildings, Where was Grell? It hadn't been that long ago since she had left him to talk to Claude, just a couple of hours. That ass, she pouted to the sky as she continued her search.
Still no sign of the red reaper even though the target, she remembered, was supposed to be in this part of the city.
People passed her with looks of disapproval on their faces as she continued to look like her head was in the clouds so as not to frighten them with her intensity of her search. An hour passed with still no sign of the reaper, or any reaper for that matter. I know they had missions in this area as well, the test is going on today for the new recruits, there should be signs of them everywhere, there's even dead bodies around.
Amari turned down an alley and looked around. There were a couple of dead animals and a corpse of a homeless man that looked like he had just passed. The body was ripped apart and there seemed to be no blood left in the sack of bones and flesh. Upon closer inspection she could tell that his soul was still attached to his body. This is not right at all, she looked around the alley closely inspecting it for anything out of the ordinary. She saw it then, in the far back of the alley, in the darkest of shadows was the scene of the killing. She could see blood spatters all over the brick of the alley walls, and other body fluids along the mortar of the bricks. There were gouges in the walls as if they had been clawed apart, they were much like the ones in the body.
"Hey girl what are you doing here?" Amari turned to the sound of a man in the opening of the alley, he could not see the gore that lay at the end of it as the sun was in his face, but he did notice her.
"I was just lost, sorry." She walked toward the opening of the alley and smiled at him,"Thank you for your concern." She noticed as she spoke that the man was very different than other humans she had met. There was something about him that didn't settle correctly in the pit of her stomach.
"Anytime ma'am, there are some dangerous people about this city. I would be more careful if I were you." He grinned as he turned and walked away into the direction he had come from.
Amari narrowed her eyes and continued her search for Grell, or rather any reaper for that matter, she was getting very nervous. This is just not right. No souls being set free from corpses and no reapers, Will was going to kill every one if they didn't get their work done. She chuckled at the thought of the reapers on holiday and Will trying to get everyone back to work. It was a comical scene she had to admit, but one that was unlikely. Something had to have happened to the reapers, no one would neglect this job, no one really could, not even Grell or Ronald, this was not good.
