Ginny stood, dragging her friend into the office, shutting the door behind them.
"No, Ginny." Hermione pulled her arm out of her friend's tight grasp. "What makes you think you have the right to go through my personal property?!" Hermione's face reddened with anger as she threw the offensive item across the room. "Ginevra. I am so disappointed in you. I thought your mother had brought you up better than that." She scowled and sat herself down in her office chair, arms crossed against her chest.
Ginny's smirk fell as she realised what she'd done. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to...I mean... It wasn't my..." With a sigh, she carried on, "Look 'Mione, I was sitting in your chair waiting for you and I saw it on the floor and I didn't know what it was, and curiosity got the better of me." Ginny's eyes pleaded for forgiveness. She knew that Hermione hated people going through her stuff, especially because of the war, when the Snatchers had gone through her bag and found the Sword of Gryffindor. Whilst Ginny had not been there, her brother and Harry had told her everything.
Hermione sighed and accepted her friend's apology. "It's complicated Gin." She shrugged her shoulders and continued, "He was at the pub, you know, my pub ," Hermione paused, waiting for Ginny to admit to knowing what she was talking about, upon seeing this, she carried on, "he looked a bit solemn so I sat with him and one thing lead to another, and we ended up going home together." Hermione wrung her hands and tried to quickly verify what she had done. "We had had a bit too much to drink and-," she trailed off, blood rushing to her face.
"Hermione Jean Granger!" Ginny laughed. "I was surprised when you told me you had picked up a man at a pub but to find out it was Draco Malfoy... I have no words to explain how delighted and confused I am right now." She grabbed her friend's arm, "Tell me, was he as good in bed as the rumours in school said?" Her eyes were wide and her mouth curled into a smile.
Hermione's face grew even redder as she quickly realised the implication of what Ginny was saying, "Ginny! No! Of course not." She shifted in her chair as she remembered how close she had been to having sex with him. "I told you already. I did not sleep with him." She frowned and removed the shirt from the table to hide from view.
"But it's Draco Malfoy! I mean, he would not have decided, hey I'm going to have a sleepover with the girl whose school life I made a misery. Obviously you had to have done something. It's Draco Malfoy, Slytherin Prince, Sex God. Of course you did something."
"Gin, he's different." She smiled slightly. "He's charming and pleasant and... don't get me wrong he's still a bloody pain in the ass, but it's more manageable." She began to subconsciously stroke the material in her hands. "He's... I can't explain it."
Ginny stared as she began to realise that something definitely had happened that night and it wasn't just sexual contact. It was obvious that her friend had developed a somewhat crush on her former enemy. With an intrigued look on her face, Ginny sat on Hermione's desk and grabbed her hands.
With a concerned tone of voice, Ginny asked her friend, "'Mione, what happened that night?"
"Oh Gin, it was fantastic. I have never felt so much passion in my life."
"I knew that all that hatred towards each other in school was just sexual tension." Ginny clapped and grinned. "So if you didn't have sex, what did you do?"
Hermione blushed and looked at her hands. Realising that she had been playing with the material of his shirt for a good 10 minutes, she put the material on the floor. "We made out a lot. Then he was removing my clothing and using his mouth to replace the lost material." With a sigh, she closed her eyes and smiled.
"Sounds like you had a whale of a time." Ginny smirked and then frowned. "Wait. If the evening was full of this adulterated activity, why was there no incredible sex?"
Hermione began to laugh. "I had to stop him just before he removed my skirt to go to the loo and, well, I fell asleep." Hiding her face behind her hands, she groaned.
Ginny spluttered. "You fell asleep?"
Hermione nodded dejectedly.
Attempted to hold back her laughter, she continued to ask her friend questions. "Okay right, let me get this straight, he was about to fuck you with his mouth when you left to go to the toilet, where you fell asleep. What was it like in the morning?"
"We almost had sex in the kitchen." Hermione stated.
Ginny's eyes bulged. "Hermione, that's two almost sessions in less than 24 hours. You two need to have sex already." She rolled her eyes. "Have you contacted him?" Hermione handed over the notes from him and explained what she had said to him in response.
They sat in silence as they tried to figure out what to do. Ginny's eyes lit up and she had a mischievous glint in her eye as she began to explain what Hermione would do next.
Hermione was to go on a date with someone, in broad daylight. This meant that the paparazzi would obviously take pictures because she was one of the Golden Trio. It would be all over the Daily Prophet the next day.
Ginny jumped off the desk. "Right, 'Mione. I'm off to sort this out. I will find you a fantastic date and book the reservations for a restaurant and create an itinerary for you both." Giving her friend a kiss on the cheek, she ran from the room.
Hermione sat, stunned, unable to comprehend what was going on in her life. With a sudden jolt, she sat properly in her chair and started her afternoon's work.
At 8:30pm, Hermione realised that it was getting late. Grabbing her bag, she shoved the present into it. She smiled to herself as she thought about the evening she had, curled up with her cat, Crookshanks and reading a good book, with a glass of wine in her hand.
Humming to herself, she left the building.
"I never thought you rude enough to ignore someone's owl."
Hermione spun on her heels, looking for the owner of the voice. Her eyes widened when she discovered Draco lounging against the outside wall of the building.
"Draco! What are you doing here?!" Hermione gasped. It was one thing to owl her in the day, but to appear outside her work was ridiculous.
"Granger, you left me rather rudely this morning and I think you need to ask for forgiveness." He pushed himself off the wall, walking slowly towards her, with a slight smirk ghosting his face.
Hermione, frowned backing away from him. Before too long, she had cornered herself against a wall. Draco realised his upper hand and trapped her in her spot, with one arm on each side of her head.
Hermione's heart rate raced and her eyes fluttered. Attempting to appear calm and collected, she tried to speak, "Draco, this is inappropriate. Please remove your arms from beside my head and let me go home." But all that came out of her mouth was a quiet squeak.
With a chuckle, Draco lowered his head to hers and kissed her nose before ghosting his lips across her face and to her ear.
"Someone ought to teach you a lesson, Hermione." He mumbled. With a groan, she closed her eyes and clenched her fists. With a smirk, he lowered his mouth to her neck, kissing and sucking, leaving a reddened mark. Satisfied, he pulled back, stroked her cheek gently and disapparated.
Hermione scowled at herself. Why had she turned into such a pathetic mess when he had pinned her against the wall?! Next time, she would not allow him to dominate her. Growling at her idiotic behaviour, she apparated home.
