Disclaimer: I do not own Percy Jackson or any of its characters. Otherwise I'd be a middle aged man with grey hair and an army of angry fangirls.

Miss Not-So-Popular

Chapter 26

Annabeth Chase

.::.

We stayed in Montauk for another month after that night, and had kinds of adventures. Percy taught us to somewhat surf, we went to music festivals and concerts, and regularly visited Maggie's Diner. It was the best vacation I'd ever had, we probably would've stayed longer hadn't it been the fact that a huge storm was blowing in over the coast, and that our parents did want to see us sometime during the summer.

We got back to the city at nightfall, sunburned and a little hyper from the Starbucks Double Shots we'd all bought at a gas station on the ride back. We dropped off everyone at their respectable houses or apartments, and then Percy and I headed back to his apartment. My mom felt awful that she was in Maine for a business meeting when I got back, but I assured her it was fine, and so she wouldn't worry so much, I was going to stay at Percy's.

"Oh! You're home! Welcome back!" Sally cried as we crossed the threshold, she rushed to us and enveloped both of us into warm hugs. Percy's apartment smelled like fresh cookies, and sure enough, there was a whopping plate of them sitting on the worn dining room table.

Having gone through serious withdrawal over the last month and a half (we'd tried making some but they just weren't the same) Percy surged forward and attacked the plate. He grabbed about three and stuffed half of one into his mouth, crumbs going everywhere.

"Why did I think my son seemed to learn table manners in the time he was gone? After almost eighteen years you'd think I know better!" Sally shook her head.

"Sally have you seen my aftershave- Oh, you guys are back!" Paul walked in, looking utterly ridiculous in a blue bathrobe, a towel wrapped around his head, and purple fluffy bunny slippers.

"Hi Pah!" Percy greeted, his mouth stuffed.

"I see nothing's changed." Paul replied.

"And what exactly were you expecting?" I asked, hugging him and trying not blush as he probably wasn't wearing much underneath the robe. He may be my boyfriend's stepdad after all but he was still my teacher.

"I guess you're right." We all laughed and Percy finally swallowed, a look of insult on his face.
"So, tell us all about the trip! How was it?" Sally ushered us to the living room and sat us down on the couch. Percy and I took turns telling them about our crazy adventures and antics.

As it got later, Sally and Paul decided to head to bed, told us not to stay up too late, and shot us a warning glance about any funny business.

"Annabeth, you take my bed, I'll take the couch." Percy patted a cushion.

"No way, I'm the guest, I'll take the couch. You sleep in your own bed."

"And what kind of gentlemen would I be if I let my beautiful girlfriend sleep on the hard, uncomfortable couch?" He retorted, a look of satisfaction on his face.

Okay, I relented. I think it was the beautiful comment. I kissed him goodnight and walked into his room. It was almost unfamiliar territory, not being in there for so long. It still smelled like Percy. Deciding to be slightly cliche, I changed into one of Percy's t-shirts and a pair of his sweatpants, and released my hair from its messy ponytail. Crawling into bed, I pulled the warm blue comforter up to my chin and inhaled deeply. I know it's totally corny to be the girlfriend who steals her boyfriend's clothes, but it was just so nice.

I don't remember falling asleep, but I woke up to two things. Sunlight streaming in through the blinds of Percy's window, and said boy screaming loudly in my face. "What do you want Seaweed Brain?"

"Annabethhhhhhh. You gotta get up, it's like noon."

"Yeah, well, go tell noon to go f-" I started but he cut me off.

"Woah, you really aren't a morning person. You'd think I'd know that by now." He let out a throaty chuckle and a set look of determination set out across his face. "Fine if you're gonna be like that, then I get permission to do this." He flipped the covers off of my and I shuddered, damn air conditioning. Ignoring my many protests and strings of cuss words, he picked me up bridal style. "Who knew you were so tempermental?"

"Apparently not you." I snapped back.

"Well, mom's at the grocery store and Paul's at school getting his classroom ready. So we have the morning to ourselves. But first, I made breakfast." He set me in a dining chair.

"I didn't know you could cook?" I asked.

"I can't, but I can make toast and frozen waffles." He set a plate of somewhat steaming Eggo Waffles and semi-burnt toast in front of me. "Bon appetit!"

The toast was okay, and the waffles were still frozen in the center but otherwise it was okay, nothing compared to Sally's blue pancakes but I had to hand it to him, the boy really tried.

We decided to go to my apartment since I was out of clean clothes and really wanted to get some laundry done, so we left a note for Sally then headed out.

"So, we're going to be seniors." I said.

"I know, it's insane." Percy replied.

"Do you know what you want to do after school?" I asked.

"I love the ocean, and anything to do with animals. So maybe a marine biologist."

"You'd be great at that."

"Really?"

"Yeah, really." I smiled at him, kissed him, and really hoped that whatever our futures held, we'd be in each other's lives.

AN: Okay, this chapter is kinda boring and lame and bleh. But it's more of a filler because I was out of ideas for their summer, but I also didn't want a huge time skip to when they went back to school. So this happened. It's kinda short, but hey I tried. I also had some writer's block with it too. Also, I want some character ideas. I won't tell you what the character will do or what role they'll play in this story *wink* but I'll pick my favorite and whoever gives it will get a shoutout. So:

CHARACTER FORM

NAME:

HAIR:

EYES:

3 PERSONALITY TRAITS:

AGE WILL BE 17-18 BECAUSE THEY'LL BE IN THE SAME GRADE LEVEL AS THE GANG.

Comment 'I'm a jellyfish' if you've read this far.
