Life For A Soldier

10 Years Later

Today in China, it was a normal average day for it. The market place was busy as usual, kids were out running about. So it was pretty much-

"AUGGH!" Crashed!

Oh, never mine...

"The winner! Of our Mid-Spring Fight Ceremony!" Said the announcer, who held up the hand of a man who looked to be the size of the Hulk (An: Like people back then would know who he is) While a man nearby was in damage fruit cart, and let's just say, his eye ball doesn't look good.

"Now! Who would want to face, our undefeated champion?!" The announcer shouted, putting a large bag of coins into the Hulk-Man's hand.

Other people who were watching the fight looked at the defeated man, before taking a few steps back while others put the bags of coins they have behind their backs and some broke their arms to avoid the fight.

"Can I fight?" A small soft voice asked.

Everyone turned to see a girl who's height makes her look 12. They couldn't really tell what she looked like because she wore this black hooded cape with a dark grey gem holder that went to her feet, but they could see that she wore a black Hanfu wrapped shirt with burnt apricot laces, along with a orange slash, a long orange skirt, whit socks, and black flats.

They all turned to each other, before laughing out loud, some nearly falling down. The girl appeared to be startled by this, as she shook her head like she was looking at around.

"Go back home little girl," The announcer said in a rude tone, "It's the rules, you have to pay if you want to defeat him." He pointed at the Hulk Man.

"But, I got money." The girl protested, going into her cape, taking out a large bag of money.

The announcer and the Hulk Man were shock to see the girl have that large amount of money. They smirked when an idea came to them.

"Alright young lady," The announcer said, guiding the girl to the fight ring, "Since you are such a sweet thing, I guess we could let you play."

"Oh, okay..." The girl said shyly, taking her place on the other side of the ring.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! We seem to have a new challenger!" The announcer announce, gesturing to the hooded girl, who suddenly became very still.

"Fighters ready?!" The Hulk Man nodded, bring his fist into his hand.

"Fight!"

The Hulk Man began to charge straight towards her, who was still standing where she was. Just as the Hulk Man was about to punch, swift as lightning, the girl took a side step and grabbed his wrist, stopping him in mid-step.

Everyone stared in shock that this tiny girl can stop a 10 ft tall man in mid-step with no hesitation. It became even ore shocking when she bend the man's arm and sent him over to where the defeated man was, landing right on top of him just as he was about to get up.

During that flip, though, the girl's hood fall off, revealing her long, hip-length, raven black hair with three bangs sweep across her forehead with a small lock loose on her nose.

"L-Li Ming?!" The announcer said, shocked.

Ming was the daughter of China's Heroine, Fa Mulan, or should I say, Li Mulan, so it was not really that hard to recognize her. That, and her face is a splitting image of her father, Li Shang, although her skin is strangely pale, her lips are pale pink, her eye liners have a winged corner, and her cheeks are a bit rounder.

While everyone was still staring in shock, Ming just give a innocent smile, before walking over to the announcer, taking away the bag of coins and her own, before walking away pretty swiftly.

"Hello?" Ming called out softly, as she walked into a dark alley corner, "It's me, Ming!"

Soon, a group of small kids in rags crawled out of some trash bags and ran over to Ming and kept on bombing her with questions.

"Did you get them Ming?"

"Did you win?"

"How was the fight?"

"Alright!" Ming calmed them down, "Alright, yes I got them." She went into her cape and took out the bag of gold she took, going into the bag, taking out the gold and giving an equal amount for each kids.

"Now remember," She told them, "Don't spend it all the time, used it when you really need it, or save it up until you have enough, alright?"

"Yes Li Ming!" The children chorused together.

"Okay, bye." Ming waved goodbye as she walked away while the other kids wave goodbye as well.

"Goodbye Li Ming" One child called.

"You're the best!" Another one called.

"Oh, it's just me being me!" Ming laughed a little, before turning back down her path.

"Li Ming Ping!" Ming slightly winced when she heard those 3 voices, before slumping as she turned around to see the three princesses, Tang-Mei, Song, and Xia-Mei, ran up to her with glaring faces.

Tang-Mei was the eldest daughter of Princess Ting-Ting and Prince Ling. She likes to keep her hair up in high stylish pony tail, she has bluish purple eye lids with a dark red lips and noticeably red blush. Her signature color is purple, as she was wearing an all purple Hanfu Dress. She is also 24 years old.

Song was the middle child of Princess Mei and Prince Yao. She likes to keep her hair in in low braided bunny ears with two chopsticks in her braid. She has very pink eye lids and ruby red lips. Her signature color is pink, Ming's most disliked color. She is 21 years old.

Xia-Mei was the youngest child of Princess Sue and Prince Chien-Po. She likes to keep her hair braided down with a light blue rose comb in her hair. She has light blue eyelids and light red lips. Her signature color is blue. She is also 16 years old, unlike her other cousins, she is a bit more free spirit, while the other two are more traditional princesses, so she often gets along with Ming, sometimes at least.

"Li Ming, you promised us that you would stop sneaking out and going into these fights!" Tang-Mei scowled.

"Do you have any idea what your parents would do to us?!" Song yelled, looking ready to faint.

"They would tell our parents, then they would have us clean the kitchen for the rest of our lives!" Shouted Xia-Mei, before continuing hysterically, "Then we would smell like garbage, then we could never get marry, then-"

"Xia, breathe!" Ming yelled, holding her shoulders. Xia did what she was instructed.

"Thanks Ming." She said with a smile.

"But she's right you know!" Tang said, "You said that you never break your promises, and then here you are!"

"Technically," Ming started, completely unfazed by their threats, "I promise not to come out and win fights if you all promise me that you would stop making me your make up doll!"

That made the three princesses completely lost for word.

"W-well, we don't now what you're talking about!" Song protested.

"Then explain this liquid foundation on my arm!" Ming yelled out, bringing her arm up, showing a slightly darker spot on it.

That was what shut them up.

"Just as I thought." Ming said with a sly smile, before she walked over to her nearby horse, Gleam, and got on.

"Well, are you coming or not?" She asked with a raise eyebrow.

"Are you crazy!?" Tang asked like Ming lost her mind.

"Don't you know these dresses cost about 10 thousand pieces of gold?!" Song said, pointing at her dress.

"Oh, well, suit yourselves." Ming said, before Gleam started galloping away.

"Hey!" The princesses yelled, but Ming was already out of ear shot.(An: Well, at least Ming's earshot)

"It's amazing how she out tricks us." Tang said, with the other two agreeing with her.

After putting her horse back in the stables, Ming jumped and landing on her back on her bed, releasing a sigh.

"Finally after today, I get a break!"

"Li Ming..." She heard the sound of her mother's voice outside of her door.

"Spoke too soon..." Ming muttered, before sitting up when her mother enter the room.

"Ming, why were the three princesses showed up at the door, all complaining about you leaving them in town?" Mulan asked her daughter sternly.

"Hey, it was their fault to begin with." Ming defended with hands raised, "They broke their promise so I decide to teach them a lesson." She gave a proud smile.

"They also said something about you still getting into town fights," Mulan pointed out, that made Ming's face drop.

"Mom, I just get into those fights because I'm just to help people who need the money the most." Ming said, with pleading eyes so her mother could understand.

"Ming..." Mulan started, sitting down next to Ming, "I know you want to find some other answers for everything, but somethings are not always that easy."

"It would if you just focused on it." Ming argued back, playing with her hair.

Mulan sighed, knowing that Ming is far more stubborn than she and Shang combine.

"Well, on a brighter note," Mulan started getting up, "Your father's coming home tomorrow." That got Ming very excited.

"Really?!"

"Yes, and that gives us the time to play our little tradition." Mulan said as she began to walked towards the door.

"Good!" Ming sighed out, "You do not want to know how much stress I've been getting lately!"

That made Mulan stop in her tracks with a fearful expression on her face.

"Mom? What's wrong?" Ming asked, noticing her mother's face.

"Oh...I was just about to tell you," Mulan started with a fearful smile, "The princes are here, and they're out..using your favorite bow to held up their kite."

If looks could kill, Ming's face would have melted everyone right in front.

"Duoshao ci wo yao gaosu ni baichi buyao yong wo de gong ni yuchun de xiangfa...?!" Ming cursed in Chinese as she marched her way out of her room to have a 'talk' with the princes while Mulan shook her head.

"Once she starts to mutter things Chinese, it's time to get the bucket!" She told herself, before running out the room, hoping Ming hasn't done much damage yet.
