Following Her Footsteps
It soon started to rain later, thunders clashing in the sky.
In the stables, Gleam was sadly eating her carrots from the basket.
She overheard that Ming and her mother had a fight, leaving Ming very upset. Which she doesn't blame her for. Gleam did heard what Mulan said to her, she just wish she could find someway to comfort her best friend.
Suddenly, thunder and lightning flashed in the sky, making Gleam jumped a bit. However, what really scared her was the door suddenly burst open.
The figure at the door was surprising small. She wore a dark cache wrapped hood with light grey fur one the edge, it also has a long cloth that goes pass her hips. She wore a Hanfu style shirt, who's was dark brown with bluish grey furry lace. It also has this reddish Brown slash with dark brown furry edges. Her dark brown skirt went pass her knees, and, like the other parts of her clothes, it has a bluish grey furry lace. Her boots are also dark brown, and has the same furry lace. It didn't take a blind person to know this looks like a Hun.
When the Hun girl began to walk over to her, Gleam stood on her hind legs and weighed very loudly to at least warn Ming or somebody.
"Gleam!" The girl whispered shouted as she put her hands to her hood,"It's me!" she pulled it down to revealing her face.
Realizing who it was, Gleam calmed down and went back standing on her four legs.
It was her owner, Ming, but she looked like she put dark liquid foundation on her exposed skin to make it look her skin was a dark tan skin tone. She even put black eye shadow on her eyes to make it look like they were sunken in. If you never met Ming, you would probably mistake her for a real Hun.
Gleam neighed in confusion. Why was her best friend dressed like this? Then a thought cross her mind, a horrible thought that made her look at Ming like she was insane.
"I know," Ming said, knowing what Gleam was thinking as she work on Gleam's reins and putting her bags on her, "Even I'm surprise at how far my sanity goes, believe me, it's wild, "She added after a thought, "But mom's too stubborn, and there's no way in the world I'm going to let the faith of my father go in the hands of those ancestors!"
After settling up Gleam, Ming began to lead her away from the stables and into the rain.
Gleam suddenly stopped, then gestured towards the house, which lost his usually bright glow but now more of a dull grey.
"I'm not going to say goodbye, Gleam." Ming said, putting her hand on the side of the horse's snout. "Besides, if anyone finds out, they would try to stop me. And you know I have to do this."
Gleam slowly nodded, but she still had her doubt. She's been living with Ming for a long time to know that once Ming sets her mind often to something, it's hard to change it. And usually it's something pretty insane.
Ming soon jumped on Gleam and flipped on her reins, making Gleam neigh loudly and galloped out of the gates and into the night.
However, Ming didn't go unsuspected like she had hoped.
When Gleam neighed, that woke up Mushu and Cri-Kee, who were both sleeping at the Li Family Temple, with Mushu sucking his thumb.
"AH! Who-What!?" He yelled, before he turned to see Gleam galloping away with someone on her back.
"Is that, Ming?" Mushu asked, unsure at what he had just seen. Cri-Kee chirped at him questionably.
"Please, the only person that Gleam would let ride on her would be Ming. But what is she doing..." He trailed off, his eyes widening with horror.
"Oh no...NO! That girl has lost her mind!" Mushu screamed, shaking Cri-Kee like crazy. "We've got to tell Mulan!"
Back at the Li Family house, in the Master Bedroom, there slept Mulan.
The bed was a large Queen-Size bed. It is a rich purple with large pillows. In the room there was pictures of Mulan, Shang, and Ming back then. There was also a mirror and a dresser. As of right now, Mulan was sleeping peacefully despite her fight with Ming, until...
"WAKE UP, GIRL!" Mushu screamed as he burst through the door and started to jump up and down on her sleeping form, "MING RAN AWAY!"
At the mention of Ming, Mulan eyes popped open as she sat veritably up, making Mushu fly across the room. "WHAT?!"
"Ow...Didn't you hear me?" Mushu asked painfully since he crashed right into the mirror. "Ming ran away!"
After hearing that, Mulan quickly took off into the hall way shouting "Ming!"
"Ming!" When she ran out of the front door, she gasped to see the gates wide open and it look like it was just recently open.
"Ming!" Mulan quickly ran over to the gates and looked all over in hoped to find a sight of her daughter. However, when there was none, she broke down onto the wet mud and cried.
Here shouts for Ming have also woken up her parents, who race out to see their daughter on the muddy ground during the harsh rain.
"Mulan?" Fa Li asked as she bent down to her daughter.
"This is all my fault..." Mulan said melancholy.
"No Mulan, Ming just didn't understand what is happening. She'll come around." Fa Li tried to reassure her.
"No," Mulan protested, "I pushed Ming over to far. I put the fear of losing her parent in her, just like father did to me..." Both her parents mouth dropped, before they went over to hug her.
Meanwhile, Mushu and Cri-Kee were watching all this from the Li Family Temple.
"Oh...why does Ming have to me so much like her mother?" Mushu asked as he walks away frustrated.
Cri-Kee chirped pointly at him.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. Mulan and Pretty Boy wanted to have Ming a life they couldn't get." Mushu sighed as he sat down on a small bench.
Cri-Kee chirped at him again.
"Yeah, I know. I promise Mulan I would look after her. But doesn't she realized that her daughter is insane?!" Mushu yelled, shaking Cri-Kee.
Once the world stopped spinning, Cri-Kee chirped questionably.
"Oh, I tell you what we're going to do!" Mushu said as he put Cri-Kee down. "We are going out there and bring Ming home!"
Cri-Kee chirped again.
"Please, what the ancestors don't know, wouldn't...kill...them." Mushu voice started light heartily, before he notice Cri-Kee pointing fearfully behind him.
"They're right behind me, aren't they?" When Cri-Kee nodded, Mushu turned to see all the Ancestors from the Fa and Li Family staring down at him sternly.
"Oh hey, guys!" Mushu said, trying to sound causal. "Here's a funny story. You see, Ming ran away so she can go an rescue her dad. But don't worry! I'm going to bring her back, safe and sound!" Just before Mushu could leave, the Head Fa Ancestor stopped him.
"And why should we let you go?"
"You have all of our families cramped together just so you could keep being Fa Mulan's guardian." The Head Li Ancestor said.
"Well, yeah. But I was looking after her since she was born." Mushu pointed out.
"But you're not really her guardian." The Fa Head Ancestor pointed that out.
Mushu sighed. "Listen, the only reason why I was faking to be Ming's guardian was because I overheard her Dad said he wouldn't let me see her after she was born."
"And why wouldn't he?" The Head Li Ancestor asked, "You humiliate him, which brought a laughing stock to my family!"
"Hey, at least I do a better job at looking after Ming then those other guardians you suggested!"
Just before any of the Head Ancestor could say anything, a thought struck their minds as they smirked at each other knowingly.
"You know what, Mushu?" The Head Fa Ancestor began, "If you could bring back Li Ming alive and unharmed, you can be her Guardian for the rest of her life."
"Really?" Mushu said excitedly as he jumped up in the air. Once all the Ancestors nodded, Mushu did his happy cheer before he ran out the temple with Cri-Kee in toll.
"He is going to fail, is he?" The Head Li Ancestor asked at the Head Fa Ancestor.
"Yes," He answered, conquering up smoke, "With the danger that's in Li Ming's way, it's going to be impossible to survive." Just as he said that, the smoke took shape of Lord Dunbroh's dragon head.
