And wind blows southern skies
Like a lullaby
You're tearing down my walls."

The next morning Glenn and I had to say goodbye. It wasn't often we got nights like the last so, while I was thankful that it happened, it still hurt to let it go.

I had made my way down to the kitchen for breakfast. I notice something was different about the way the room felt, quite, less lively, like something wasn't right. After a few moments of idle contemplation, I decided to chalk it up to the cold I felt without Glenn's arms around me.

I shrugged as I grabbed a bowl and began to shuffle into the line. Normally Sasha was here and the two of us would discuss whatever was on our plate that day. Today, however, Sasha was no where in sight. She must've over slept or been caught up doing something else. I told myself it was nothing, but still, it made me nervous.

Some gray mush and half a piece of toast was put on my tray along with some milk. I still had trouble not gagging at the smell of the stuff. It was the only thing we drank for almost a month, although it felt like forever. Since the Termites had so much of it stored back, the kitchen used it for breakfast everyday. Still, it was unsettling. I went and sat at my usual table, even with Sasha missing. I talked some to Bob and Beth before Sasha came to join us. She looked concerned.

"Hey," I said.

"Do you know what's going on?" she asked.

I shook my head. "No, why?"

"I just saw Daryl run up to Glenn. He looked like he was telling him something pretty serious then they both ran towards the main gate."

A lump formed in my throat. "Well, that could mean anything right? I mean, why do you think it means something's wrong? Or dangerous?" Beth asked.

"Beth, they looked pretty serious." Sasha repeated before looking back to me. "Daryl took his crossbow and Glenn had a gun."

"A gun?" I asked and she nodded. I grew concerned quickly.

If it was a walker problem, he would've taken a knife or some sort of blade. He wouldn't waste bullets. This had to be more concerning if he took a gun.

"Where were they going?" Beth pleaded. After just getting Daryl back I guess she worried more about him than usual.

I had never really asked Beth about what had happened after she and Daryl left the prison. It had changed her and I don't think she was used to being the new Beth yet.

She was different than the Beth I had known at the prison. Stronger, more sure of herself. Without me or Dad to guide her she had stepped into her own.

While I worried she was changing too much at times, I was glad that she and Daryl grew closer. With Daryl keeping an extra eye on her now, along with everything she'd learned the past few months, I rarely worried about her like I used to. I knew that if she couldn't protect herself, Daryl would keep her safe and vice versa.

I finished chewing a bite of mush as I spoke. "It's okay Beth, we'll go find them. We'll see what's up." I tapped her hand. "Thanks Sasha."

Just as we stood up from our chairs, a loud alarm rang through the dining hall. Children cried as the rest of us covered our ears.

"What is that?" I yelled to Beth who couldn't hear me.

Across the hall I saw Daryl and Glenn creeping along the wall. Glenn's eyes scanned for me. I ran to him.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Breakfast is over. Everyone return to your quarters." Rick yelled as he charged through the panic with Tyreese and Michonne.

It was chaos as people tried to leave the hall.

"Glenn?" I looked at him desperately.

"Everything is fine. Just get back to our room. I'll meet you there in a little while, okay?" Glenn kissed my forehead.

"What? Glenn-" he took off and people were already between us. I looked around for Beth and didn't see her. I assumed she had gone with Daryl.

I pushed through the herds of bodies until he was in ear shot. "Glenn!" I yelled.

He turned and looked at me. "Can't you just stay where I know you're safe?" he answered.

"Can't you?" I said.

He sighed and rolled his eyes before handing me a gun that was tucked by his hip. "I knew you wouldn't."

We charged through to catch up with Daryl and Beth, who now a knife.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"A tank." Daryl said.

"A tank?" I asked.

"They're knocking down the back fences trying to get in. They set off some alarm we didn't even know we had." Glenn explained.

"It's going to attract walkers, someone's gotta stop it." I said.

"Eugene's trying but right now we need to handle the tank."

"Do we know who it is?" I asked. Glenn looked at me and shook his head. He didn't say anything but I knew what he was thinking.

The Termites might have been right.

We headed down a set of stairs that took us through a tunnel. If something did happen to Rick above ground, we would be hidden and be able to find off whoever was trying to come in.

We reached the end of the tunnel just as the alarm went off. I guess Eugene had figured it out.

Daryl was at the head of our group. He looked back at us with a hand on the door that led outside. He nodded at Beth and then looked to Glenn and I.

"Stay close to me." Glenn said, though he knew I never would.

"I'll try." I said though it was only half the truth.

Daryl turned back but waited at the door.

I knew what we were all thinking. If this was like it was at the prison wasn't very likely we would all make it back together for a second time.

Daryl pushed open the door and blinding bright sun flooded the tunnel.

We quickly went into formation and while I tried to keep a view on what was in front of me, I looked at my side every once in a while to make sure Glenn was still there.

As my eyes scanned the area, I saw what had set off the alarm. Rick, Tyreese, Michonne, and Abraham were lined up with guns along the fence that was nearly pushed over.

"Who are they?' I asked

"I don't know but they mean business." Daryl said.

"Are we prepared for this?" Beth asked desperately.

"Let's hope so." Glenn said, looking at me.

Rick looked back at us and yelled over the tank. "Are you guys ready for this?" We nodded, not entirely sure if we were or not.

"We'll find out won't we." Daryl called back.

The tank's lights went off and the engine stopped humming.

"Some attack." Daryl grunted, frustrated.

Rick looked back at us as if we could give him an answer to what was happening. Daryl just shrugged, annoyed.

The driver's side door of the tank opened. A small, petite body appeared on the ground.

"No way." Glenn said as my eyes focussed.

Rick's voice cracked as he called to us. "Hold your fire." he approached the figure.

"Carol." I said.

"Carol?" Daryl said almost inaudibly. He dropped his bow and headed towards her.

They embraced and Glenn walked over to me, before we approached them.

Daryl wept as Carol's arms tightened around him.

"How did you find us?" Rick asked.

"We heard Maggie's voice over the radio." she said. "We knew our people were here."

"We?" Michonne asked.

Carol nodded and looked back at the tank. Our eyes followed hers as we saw a much larger figure hop on the ground.

"Tyreese!" Sasha yelled as she ran towards him. He arms were out but he denied her embrace.

He looked down at his chest, holding something against him.

Sasha's hands fled to her mouth in surprise before the pair walked over to us.

"Rick, I got something for ya." Tyreese said.

IN his arms was a tiny, pale, cooing baby.

"J-Judith?" Rick stammered.

"Judith!" Carl screamed running towards Tyreese.

Tyreese placed the baby in his arms and Rick fell to his knees.

After everything that had happened to us, after thinking he had lost his daughter, but seeing her now, I couldn't imagine what was going through his head.

After a few moments of reuniting and crying over the new arrivals, Tyreese spoke.

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news, especially now, but Judith's been sick."

"Sick? How sick?" Beth asked.

"She's not awful she's just undernourished. All we've been able to give her is water and mashed up berries and nuts we find." Carol explained. "She needs proper food. At least formula or milk. Otherwise she-" Carol stopped.

We all knew what would happen.

Rick dried his tears and looked to Glenn.

"Glenn would you mind-"

Glenn moved his arms from around my shoulder and stepped forward. "Rick, of course. No problem."

"I'll go with him." I said.

Rick nodded. "Thank you." then he turned to Tyreese. "Thank you."

Glenn laced his fingers through mine and walked behind me. "Let's go."
