Chapter 33: Lying is Hard

'There is something wrong with me…' Bo thought as she took a detour to go to school. She looked at her hands and then felt her face. 'It's like nothing happened last week. What is wrong with me? I don't feel different but something definitely made me feel strange…'

"Well, well, what do we have here?" a familiar voice laughed behind her.

"Looks like Watanabe Boboa! The sea witch's spawn!" another voice in front of her. Bo looked and saw it was Hana and Kairi were surrounding her. They seemed to have vile smiles and giggled mischievously.

"It's been awhile, Bo." Hana said getting closer.

"It must be our lucky day. You're going to school through our route." said Kairi.

"What do you guys want?" Bo said curtly.

"To teach you a lesson. You need to understand that being friends with Gou means nothing. Having two nothings equals a double negative and that needs to change." Hana giggled taking a knife out.

"And this is why you both are single and that NOBODY likes you." Bo said unaffected by Hana's threats.

"We'll see about that!" Kairi jumped with a knife her hand at the same time Hana heads towards her. Suddenly something kicked in Bo, making her grab both girls, blocking them in the face. Her hand covered their noses and the girls started to claw her hand as they start to struggle for air. Bo's hand started to change into a larger hand with sharp talons and webbed fingers. They weren't her average cursed hands but something more monstrous.

When Bo noticed this she pushed them nack, sending them to the far sides of the path. The girls dropped their knives in fear of Bo. Bo let out a roar that made them run away. When they left she quickly checked her pocket mirror. Her face was scaly and dry and her teeth were sharp with her eyes glowing a shade of green. She dropped her mirror and ran off in the different direction of school.

…...

"Hey, where's Bo?" Gou asked, hanging out in front of her classroom with Rei.

"Maybe late?" Rei shrugged.

"It took me some time to get back to school after all that cheering up. My brother was freaking out all week." Gou complained.

"Oh yeah, your family must have been worried about you?"

"Well my mom is on another business trip and my brother thought I was in danger or dead."

"Wait, does that mean he knows about what's going on?" Rei's voice went higher.

"Oh did we forget to mention that?" Gou smiled.

"Mention what?" Makoto asked as he appeared in front of them.

"Oh...the...homework!" Gou quickly lied. "I forgot about Hishikawa-sensei's homework assignment!"

"I thought Bo was getting that for you while you were out." said Rei. Gou elbowed him hard in his side.

"Well I guess she forgot!" Gou laughs out loud to cover her awkwardness. Makoto looks at her with a puzzled expression and slowly walks away. After he left, she slaps herself in the face and then Rei's arm.

"Ow, what did I do!?" Rei cries out in pain.

"You know what you did." Gou hissed and goes to class as the bell rang.

Lunch…

"That damn bitch...leaving me here when I got the courage to come back…" Gou muttered angrily, stabbing her fish and mutilating it.

"You alright there Gou?" Nagisa asked.

"Maybe it's just a mental breakdown because-" Chigusa was about to answer when she saw Gou staring with a violent aura around her. She quickly stopped talking and went back to eating.

"I am fine…" Gou said with a forced smile.

"Gou…" Makoto whispered under his breath with a worried expression.

"Where's Bo?" Haru asked ignoring Gou's mood.

"I don't know." Gou answered as she grinded her teeth.

"She is super pissed off today. Rei, do you know why?" Nagisa asked.

"I-I don't know!" Rei said with a fake laugh and looked like he was about to break. Everyone was looking at them with a curious look because of how they were acting. The group ate in silent after that.

After School

Gou stormed out of the school building and headed towards Bo's house.

"Gou!" Makoto called out to her. "Wait!"

"What is it?" Gou asked surprised.

"What are you not telling me?" Makoto asked with a serious look.

"What do you mean?"

"You're hiding something. I know when you are lying and you've been lying to me since this morning. What's wrong Gou!?" Makoto yelled grabbing her. Gou instinctively pushed him away and gave a fearful look. Makoto's eyes were wide and stared at her fumbling with his words.

"Gou! I'm coming with you!" Rei came running. "What's going on here?"

"Nothing, we're going." Gou said grabbing his wrist and dragged him.

"Me too!" said Makoto.

"No, you're not! Not today." Gou said with a quivering voice. She continued to pull Rei without looking back.

…..

Bo was breathing hard as she was trying to get up from the ground. She grabbed a bench and pulled herself up onto it. She laid on her back and tried to control her breathing.

'Everything hurts. It hurts...so much…' Bo thought in agony. Her whole body felt heavy and she felt a stinging sensation everywhere.

"Bo." a familiar voice called her. She looked over slowly and saw Haru there with widen eyes. Then he quickly ran towards her, dropping everything, and went to her side. He started to touch her face with his warm hands. "Are you okay?"

"What are you doing here?" she asked, sitting up.

"I should be asking you that. Here let's get you to the hospital." Haru said trying to help her, but she slapped his hands away.

"I don't need help." she said in a low voice. "I don't need any help from you or anyone. I'm fine." Haru reached out for her, but then Bo growled at him. "Don't touch me!" she hissed and looked at him.

"Bo, your eyes…" he whispered. "They're glowing."

"Go away." she said. "Go away!" she yelled loudly making the trees shake. Haru quickly fell back but regained his composure. He bowed as if he was apologizing and left her there.

"Ow!" Bo cried out in pain. She felt her bones shift within her body. Bo got up and ran to hide in the trees.

…..

"Something is not right." the little girl in the white nun outfit said staring out the window.

"What is it milady?" Hishikawa asked worriedly.

"Something is off. How are the girls?" she asked.

"Gou finally showed up after a week of absence. Boboa, however, didn't today."

"Boboa…" she whispered.

"Had something happened to her?" Hishikawa became stiffer.

"Hishikawa," the girl said turning towards him. "We are going to have to interfer."
