Chapter 39: Truth Be Told
"Now where am I? And I want a burger." Bo said like her normal self.
"You're not getting a burger but soup and bread." Hishikawa-sensei walked in with a tray for Bo.
"Hishikawa-sensei? What are you doing here?" Bo asked. Rei and Gou told Bo about what happened and what they have learned about the curse.
"So to look like that, the curse needs serpent's blood, but since there isn't any serpents for a while the curse evolved and deluded itself into what it is today." Bo said to make sure and they all nodded. "And that Hishikawa-sensei is his secret identity and his real name is Yamahora, a guardian of a little white nun." They nodded. "But they won't explain themselves and won't help us with our problem?" They nodded again.
"Yes Miss Boboa." the nun came into the room. "We cannot interfere or else time will go off track."
"This is the girl? This nine year old girl? Right there?" Bo pointed and they all nodded. "Well this just gets better and better." she said sarcastically.
"I heard about your dream. You need to tell me about it. It might be important." the nun said politely. Bo sighed and told them about her strange dream and about the curse.
"Have you heard these stories before?" the nun asked.
"My mother told me this when I was little. It about how an ex-lover curses the royal family. My dream was something completely different. I never imagined that how my linage continued by very kind people. I watched how the curse changed into what I am today. It was...weird." Bo said having a distant look.
"A sea witch that can curse someone with only her blood and symbols must be powerful. She used no potion whatsoever." Hishikawa-sensei said surprised.
"She may have had it already made and hid it on her body so when she hurt herself she was able to put the potion onto your ancestor." the nun clarified.
"That's a long shot, but it makes sense." said Rei.
"Wouldn't she be cursed as well if she injured herself during the casting process?" asked Gou.
"I don't even know." the nun answered.
"Ugh, my brain hurts from thinking!" Bo cried in frustration.
"It is late. We all should go home and rest." Hishikawa-sensei said with a smile. They said their goodbyes and left his home.
"Will they be alright my lady?" Hishikawa-sensei asked with a worried look. "They are my students, they're children, my responsibility."
"That I don't know. I just know that we cannot infer anymore." the nun said leaning against him.
"Oh man my aunt is going to kill me!" Bo cried out.
"You'll be fine. I've told her about what happened last week." said Gou.
"Plus, I've told the school that you'll be absent for a while." said Rei. Then he says goodbye and goes the other way. When Gou and Bo got to Nana's house Haru was standing at the gates.
"Haru what are you doing here?" Bo asked surprised.
"I was worried when you didn't show up at school for a whole week. What happened to you at the park? You were angry and your eyes were glowing." Haru said with worry in his voice. The girls were quiet for awhile.
"My period." Bo blurted out.
"You know how girls are when it's that time of the month. Monstrous." Gou said with an awkward laugh. Haru didn't say anything. He was more quiet than usual. Then he hugged Bo and sighed in relief.
"Thank goodness that you are alright." he said burying his face into her shoulder. She did the same and then she pushed him away.
"Oh my god, you're wet!" Bo shouted. Gou quickly opened the gates and pulled Bo into her house and slammed the door.
"Ouch!" Bo cried out in pain as she fell in the floor because of her legs turned into a large fin.
"We don't want her to feel unwell again don't we." Gou laughed awkwardly as Haru had that stoic look with hint of worry.
It was Monday and time to go to school. Gou and Bo were walking to school as always. They we're more seldom because of their new information they received a few days ago.
"So no one is going to help us…" Gou sighed heavily.
"We don't even have a hint to what we are supposed to do like breaking the curse, who's doing this to us, blah, blah, blah." Bo rolled her eyes. "I'm so sick of this shit."
"Me too." Gou agreed and they both entered their classroom. After class ended Hishikawa-sensei called the girls to his desk.
"I know I shouldn't be doing this, but I'm very worried about you two. You cannot have anyone know what I'm about to say to you. She cannot find out." Hishikawa-sensei whispers to them.
"You have our word, sensei." Gou said with a serious look.
"Go to this address. She is the only one that can help you. I promise you." he said handing them a slip of paper. The girls went to their bench for lunch and read the paper.
"The Tres Spades Hotel and Casino in Tokyo. Ask for Fugoi Risa?" Bo read aloud.
"Who is that?" Gou questioned.
"Whoever she is, she must know something. We should go this weekend to find out. We skip school Friday and next week Monday to take time to find her." Bo said and Gou agreed.
…..
"Please do not tell anything to them!" the little nun bowed to an older girl in front of her at a table in a small cafe. People were staring at them and whispering as they watch.
"Come on don't bow in public…" the older girl said covering her face. Her jet black hair in a ponytail swung around and she used it to cover face from others.
"Please I'm begging you!" the nun begged again giving her a stack of money.
"Where did you-"
"Just don't tell these two girls anything please!" the nun showed the girl two pictures of the two girls one with red hair and the other blonde and curly.
"Why? What do you have plan for them? They're just kids." the girl asked, but the nun just stared with such determination. The girl rolled her head and sighed and took the money quickly.
"Fine. Fine! I won't say a word. I won't even acknowledge their existence, now go on shoo. Don't you need to go to elementary school." the girl laughed. The nun gave her a stoic look and then without touching her, the girl's head was slammed against the table. "Ouch! Sorry, sorry! Jeez, chill!" the girl cried and the nun left her.
Do you sense a crossover? Yes, yes you do.
