Chapter 47: Boboa's Past
"My father?" Bo's voice was wavering but filled with hate when Hajime confessed.
"I had a feeling…" Sakura spoke up. "You look like his ex-wife." she tried to smile.
"You knew?" Bo looked at her with tears threatening to fall. "You used your son to come here to what? Make fun of me? Rub it in my face that my 'father' loves you more than me?"
"It's nothing like that!" Sakura fought back.
"No, it's more on the lines of 'your father has a better family and wants us more than he will ever want you'." Bo spat.
"Boboa, listen to me…" Hajime stepped in.
"No, I don't want to listen to you!" Bo yelled. "Don't you get it!? I don't want you around! Ever!" she wipes her forehead and calms down. "Isn't it clear that you've done enough to me? That I'm not welcomed to be in this family whatsoever? You've done enough…" Bo backs away and leaves.
…..
Bo's feet landed at the front door of Gou's home. She knocked and waited for the door to open. When it did, Gou was there with a surprise look on her face.
"Bo, what are you doing here? Are you here eat all the food in the fridge again?" Gou joked.
"I wish...but I really would like someone to talk to." Bo smiled sadly at her. Gou quickly opens the door wide open, letting her in. Then she grabs her hand and pulls her upstairs. They say on her bed and Gou faces her with curiosity.
"What happened? Did Haru show up to your house? He didn't break up with you did he?" Gou questioned getting angrier and angrier by each question.
"No, no, right now it's rocky because of our lie but this is more personal." Bo slowly explains. "My...father is here."
"You're father?" 'She never really talks about her family. I wondered what happened between them?' she thought. "Would you like to tell me what happened?"
"His new family came and I didn't know who they really were. Their son turns six today and wanted me to sing for him until that man showed up." Bo looked angry and in so much pain as she explained. "At first I didn't recognize him until he told me. After that I blew them all off."
"What did your father do to you?" Bo asked hesitantly.
"He's the reason why my mother is dead." Bo answered bluntly with no emotion nor expression. It was quiet for a while until Bo spoke up again, revealing her family's past. "My mom never told anyone, not even my father, about the curse. Even after marriage, she never told a soul. One day when I was six my mother showed me what she was and explained that one day I'll be like this until the curse is broken. When she told me, my father went into the room and screamed in fear. That's when everything fell apart. Day after day my father yelled at her, hit her, called her grotesque names, made everything miserable for all of us. He hit me once too, called me a monster and just left and never came back. That made my mom lose herself. When I became seven I went to the bathroom to shower but I left my clothes behind so when I went out room to retrieve it I...discovered my mother hang herself on the ceiling fan. I did call the police but it was too late...she was already gone. Then I was sent to my aunt and that's how I ended up here."
"That's horrible…" Gou said with such shock.
"Nothing to cry over." Bo wiped Gou's tears with her sleeve.
"I'm not crying!" Gou shouted, making Bo laughed. "It's alright. It's all in the past."
"Doesn't sound like it is since you're here and avoiding the situation at hand."
"Because I'll never forgive him. I don't see him as a father anymore. No father...puts his family like that." Bo leaned against Gou and Gou leaned against her as well sitting in total silence.
….
"I told you it was a bad idea!" Hajime yelled at his wife.
"It is not! Midori wanted to meet her and now he has a sister for a birthday present. He is so happy now that his idol is his own flesh and blood!" Sakura yelled back.
"Why does that matter!?"
"Because we are a family! That means no secrets from each other!"
"Well sometimes there has to be!"
"Why!?"
"Because I regret my decisions I made with them!" Hajime yelled in realization. "Like Boboa said...I'm not welcomed back here; ever."
"You can fix your relationship with her."
"No, I can't! I've done...too many unforgivable things to her and Lucy. This is why I didn't want you guys here! You don't need to be a part of their life here!"
"Yes we do! They are family unconditionally! I don't care if things didn't work out back then but they can now! You have a chance." Sakura begged.
"You don't understand." Hajime's tone became dark and heavy that it scared Sakura. "You don't know what I've done to them. You'll never will Sakura and I will never explain to you why."
"You called your ex-wife a monster. That's some explanation but I need a reason why and you're are just not going to give it to me? Because I won't understand it?"
"Just get in the car." Hajime hissed and got into the car. Sakura reluctantly went into the car and waved Nana goodbye.
They drove in silence not to wake up their son Midori. As they drive they were suddenly covered in darkness.
"Hajime, what's going on?" Sakura became frightened. Hajime tried wipe it off with the windshield wipers, stopping the car, anything to get it off but nothing worked. Then it went into the car swallowed the family up. Their car slowly went into a stop with nobody inside as the dark fog cleared up.
…
"Why are you here, Chigusa-chan?" Makoto asked as he let Chigusa into his home.
"Are your parents home?" she asked.
"I'm the only one here, why?"
"Good." she said pushing him down on the couch and ripped his shirt off.
"Chigusa! What are-" he tried to shout but was silenced by a kiss from Chigusa.
"I've waited so long for this!" she ripped her shirt to reveal her bare chest. "I'm not wearing anything underneath so go crazy, Makoto!" she cried and tried to kiss him again but her pushed her away.
"What are you doing!"
"I love you, Makoto! Can't you see that?" she screamed.
"I love Gou!"
"She went to a college party! Who knows what she did in Tokyo!"
"That doesn't concern you! I will always love her! I have always loved her and I will always will! Now get out" Makoto yelled at her. Chigusa scampered off the ground and quickly left the residence.
….
It's been a week and the girls were allowed back at school. The boys treated them differently except Rei. He stood with the girls when the boys went in a different direction to avoid them.
"Maybe we should clear up what happened? It's hard for all of us to be like this." Rei said to give some reason to fix their relationship.
"Rei, this is for the best. We are getting close to our target. It's better to keep them out before they get hurt." Bo clarified.
"Bo has a point. If we continue to hang out more there's no telling what will happen." Gou agreed. "You and Rin are the only one's who know but eventually we are going to have to cut ties for you guys' safety."
"Gou...Bo…" Rei became saddened but nodded his head understanding their situation. "Let's just hope that you find whoever did this before graduation. It's in three weeks so the earlier we find them, the faster we can reform all of our relationships."
"We will keep in touch, butterfly." Bo saluted to Rei as he waved goodbye.
"Are you sure this is okay? I really miss Makoto." Gou looked down depressed.
"Don't worry so much. We will end this I promise. Right now we have to focus on our mystery dickweed AND our future careers." Bo smiled waving the piece of paper around.
"Why are we doing these things so early? We have another year here!"
"The earlier the better...the early bird catches the worm...those kinds of ideals."
"It sucks…" Gou whined.
"Hey, at least you know what you want to do. Marine biologist is a hard career, Gou."
"Yeah well I like the ocean! At least I have an idea of what I want to do!"
"Whatever!" Bo laughed and pushed Gou jokingly as Gou did the same.
…..
"Rei! Rei!" Chigusa called out to Rei in the corridor. When he turned around she jumped on and clinged to him. "I did it! I did it! I confessed to him! I confess to Makoto!"
"What?" Rei didn't move and stood still. "You used me to get to Makoto…"
"He wouldn't look at me! Not in the slightest! He always, ALWAYS looked at Gou! Now that I've been turned down we can be fully together. You can break things off with Nagisa-kun and be with me!" she cried. Rei gently pushed her off and looked at her with serious expression.
"I love Nagisa, Chigusa." he said. "I did love you once but you were so far away and sometimes it was like you weren't even looking at me!"
"But...I've changed, Rei!" she cried.
"I'm sorry, goodbye, Chigusa." Rei have a sad smile and left her there in the middle of the hall.
"I knew you weren't into him in the beginning." Haru said behind her. "You should have been honest at the beginning instead." as he walked past her she hugged him from behind.
"Then go out with me and teach me how!" she said into his back.
"What the-" Haru was shocked by her sudden change. He pulls away from her instantly. "No!"
"Watanabe played with older men in Tokyo and hurt you! Don't you want to hurt her back?"
"She lied! Boboa might seem like that to everyone else but to me she isn't! It's a lie! I know it is!" he shouted he never shouted before and left the brokenhearted Chigusa alone.
