Author's Note: It's been a while since I have updated. I am super close to publishing my own book, hopefully at the end of this month or the start of next. I have worked out all the chapters of all the stories I am updating, so I know the main ideas for each chapter, the trouble is time. I am busy with college work or real stories most of the time, I need to make myself a timetable. I am not going to bpoth with Update days, if I finish a chapter I will post it as soon as I get internet, it stops me getting confused. Well, I hope you enjoy this chapter anyway.

Chapter 14 – A meeting of bad attitudes.

Ellie POV

"That seriously happened?" I asked, Hayley had told me what had happened after I had blacked out when the giant Hollow man attacked.

"Yeah, Walter is taking us to the rebel base today." Hayley nodded.

"Is that wise?" I asked

"No, but we need them on our side." Dennis joined us "that means, Jade and Page need to be civil."

"Yep, that's not going to happen." I stated.

"I guess. So, we go to the base, then what happens?" Hayley looked at Dennis.

"You'll find out; You'll get to see Reaver in action though." Jade sat down yawning. "I just wanna go back to sleep."

"Why don't you?" I asked

"Walter says I need to meet Page. I don't want to meet Page, but he won't take 'no' or 'I am too lazy' for an answer." Jade sighed

"You told him you were too lazy to meet Page?" Brandon smiled

"Yeah." Jade nodded, we all laughed

"Hey, Walter, are we going now?" Dennis asked the soldier.

"Yep, you all ready to go?" Walter asked, we all nodded. "Jade's already go Swift on our side." I looked at her.

"Promised to restore glory to the soldier uniform. Oh, and Ben wants a pay raise." Jade said

"I see." I nodded, we all got ready to go. I had the task of dragging Jade away as Ben hugged Chelsee.

Hayley POV

The journey to the mourning wood was uneventful, apart from Jade arguing with Walter about meeting Page.

"She is the rebel leader; it is only right you meet her." Walter said

"I have met her already. I have the bloody scar to prove it!" Jade folded her arms annoyed. Walter just sighed and walked ahead.

"Who do you hate more, Theresa or Page?" I asked her.

"The same, but for different reasons." Jade replied. "Let's just get this over with." She looked at Walter "I will not be held responsible for my actions if Page pisses me off!" She added loudly. We all burst out laughing. We walked through the sewer and into Bowerstone Industrial. Our little group fell silent as we passed beggars, there was even one body lying face down in the water.

"Um, I don't' want to see what's going on over there." Jade stopped suddenly as we neared a courtyard with a man speaking.

"Jade…" Walter began.

"We'll take her to the base!" I said.

"Nope, I'll take jade. We've seen that too many times." Dennis said. "We'll see you at the Base."

"But…" I began.

"You need to learn more about the people of Albion." Jade told me, before looking at Walter. "Make sure Ellie doesn't wonder off."

"Sure." He nodded. I watched as Dennis and Jade walked off. "Come on Hayley." I sighed and followed him

Dennis POV

"Dennis, good to see you again!" Kidd came up to me.

"You too Kidd, is Page here?" I asked

"in the main room…" Kidd looked at Jade, she glared at him. "You must be Jade."

"Yep." She nodded and said nothing more

"Well, we'll speak later." Kidd told me, as Jade and I headed towards the main room. I knocked.

"Who is it?" Page called, I opened the door and Page smiled. "Dennis, finally got board of the soldiers did you?"

"The soldiers don't shoot in a room full of innocent people." I heard Jade growled, I looked between Jade and Page, both were glaring at each other.

"Jade, nice to meet you at last." Page said, I could hear the strain of kindness in her voice. I backed off a little, not wanting to get between them.

"Wish I could return that statement." Jade replied.

"You sound just like one of the noblewoman, speaking like that." Page said

"Really? Maybe it is just because I have been educated in a place called a school since I was like, 5." Jade smirked, Page glared at her.

"I'm surprised you're not dead." Page changed the subject.

"Heroes heal fast. Bonus if you ask me." Jade folded her arms.

"Bonus?" Page asked

"Yep, meaning you still owe me big time for shooting me that day." Jade smiled, I gulped. Please hurry up Walter!

Chelsee POV

We were not expecting the sight we saw when we went into the main rebel room. Dennis was standing off to the side whilst Jade and Page were trying to stare each other down.

"You two, stop it!" Walter got between them. Jade scoffed and turned her back on the rebel.

"You're a snobbish, ungrateful…" Page groaned and punched the table

"What did you do Jade?" I asked

"Nothing, ask her!" Jade glared back at Page.

"Told you it wasn't a wise idea." Dennis sighed

"Yeah, I did say Page and I weren't going to get along. For the record Page, thanks for the scar!" Jade smiled before beginning to leave.

"Where do you think you're going?" Walter asked

"To do some quests so I'm not stuck here with her." Jade said and walked out.

"We are never letting Jade be alone with Page again, all those in favour say aye." I muttered, we were sitting on the steps outside the door the base. Walter had tried to calm Page down and she agreed to be civil to Jade next time. But, we all knew the chance of Jade being nice to Page was nil.

"Aye." We all agreed.

"Anyway, anyone want to do the gaming quest with me?" Dennis asked

"The gaming quest?" Hayley repeated

"The quest that in involves evil-fire-breathing-demon chickens." Dennis smiled

"Oh, that one. I'm up for it. Sounds like good fun." I nodded

"Should we look for Jade?" Hayley asked, a little worried

"She'll be fine, she probabally off doing some quests herself." Dennies said, "Let's go, it's this way." Dennis jumped up and we followed him to the place of the quest.

"Weird..." I said, looked around, we had been shrunk and we were now on a map of a game.

"You're telling me, I've played this games as someone else." Dennis said

"Right, so what first?" Hayley asked

"We just follow the path right?" I said, they all looked at me. "Jade made me watch a walkthrough for this part." I explained

"Ah, and yeah. We need to talk to someone. This way." We mutally agreed to let Dennis lead as he had played this before. We atlked to an old guy, then we made our way up to a nice castle.

"Nice." Hayley smiled.

"Ben...you did the castle, didn't you?" Jim asked

"Yes, but I thought you said 'Pretty'." Ben replied, I tried not to laugh, everyone else was grinning.

"I sai 'Errie'...why...never mind, I've got this." Mark sighed, the castle changed, it became darker and wolves appeared. We all drew our weapons and fought them off. We then had to enter the castle, find a sword then we had to fight Hollowmen, the out the back - where we came face to face with the creatures that made us want to do the quest - Chickens. Hayley jumped a little when demon-fire-breathing chicken shot a fire ball at her.

"We should get Jade one. They could be fire-ball pals." Ellie suggested, we all laughed at that. When we had finally defeated the last monsters and the Baron, who continued talking even after Ellie struck him down. Dennis had to kiss the Princess and then it was over. We left the gamers house laughing and high fiving.

"That was so much fun!" Hayley grinned

"I know, that is my favourite quest!" I nodded

"So, what do we do now?" Ellie asked

"Find Jade and get back to the base, Page will then explain our next main quest." Dennis said

"What is our next main quest?" Hayley looked at him.

"We are going to break into Reaver's manor during a party." Dennis whispered as we walked.

"Yes!" Ellie fist pumped, I shook my head.

"So, the wheel of misfortune quest?" I said

"Yep...Is that Jade?" Dennis stopped and looked into the window of the blacksmith. We all looked, it was. She was hammering away on a sword, the Blacksmith stood next to her, they were talking.

"Why is she doing that?" Ellie asked

"For money...it is wise to start saving up for when we beat Logan. Come on." Dennis went into the Blacksmith, the rest of us waited outside. He spoke quickly to Jade who nodded. She finished off the blade she was working on, got paid by the black smith and left with Dennis.

"You missed the gaming quest." I said

"You did that without me?" Jade gasped. "That was my favourite quest..."

"Sorry, we thought you had gone off to do other quest." Dennis appologised.

"Well, you're not wrong." Jade admitted.

Jade POV

We got back to the hideout, we saw Major Swift. My friends all looked at me.

"Don't Jade." Dennis said

"I have too guys, it is one thing I swore to myself when I realised we would have to take the place of the hero in the game." I whispered

"But, Theresa..." Chelsee began

"I'll deal with her. I, unlike her, will not loose people when I know they can be saved." I told her. They looked a little confused, but Dennis seemed thoughtful.

"Do what you want, but we don't want Theresa to be mad at you." Hayley sighed

"Theresa doesn't scare me." I said, and smiled "I'll be fine...but this is somehting I really need to do. I failed helping Jammy...I don't want anyone else to die."

"I understand." Chelsee patted my arm. "Good luck." She added with a grinned, I glared at her. The others walked off giggling like a bunch of school kids. I stopped, we were just school kids. Chelsee and I hadn't even started college...I sighed. I approached Major Swift.

"Hi Major." I smiled

"Ah, hello Jade, I'm just off to the castle to report to Logan and hopefully get the movements of his men." Swift said, "But, I bet you already knew that."

"Yes, that's why I need to speak to you..." I said

"Can't it wait until later?" Swift asked

"No, for you...there won't be a later if you go to the castle." I told him. "If you go, you'll be killed. And I don't want you to die, I tried tot protect the men of the fort during the last fight and I failed, I don't want to loose you to Swift..." I stopped and blushed, I may have just said too not. Swift just looked at me in surprised, I looked down. Yep , I just made myself look like a right ideot in front of him now. I felt him a place a hand on my shoulder, I looked up at him.

"Those who died at the fort didn't die because of you. I feel if you and your friends weren't there, all of my men would have died." Swift said "I won't go to the castle, if that will put you at ease."

"Thank you Major!" I smiled, i felt myself crying. I cursed under my breath and wipped my eyes.

"I will let you get to that meeting with Page, I'll need to speak to my men." Swift handed me a tissue.

"Okay, be careful major." I accepted it and smiled. Swift smiled and walked away. I took a deep breath and joined everyone else. I felt so much happier, I even smiled at Page.

"Now you've finally joined us, here's what we will do..." Page said, Chelsee nudged me witha smile, I smiled back. Maybe this was going to be fine anyway.
