A/N: Hi guys! I finally reached over 100 reviews, yay! Thanks to everyone who has reviewed, favourited, added this story to their alerts or is even sitting there silently reading. The nearly 8 months I've been writing this story have been amazing for me. I'm really bogged down with work at the moment but I hope to be back up and running soon at a regular pace. This story is far from done so don't worry and there is also a sequel planned.

I own nothing as you know. Also, Criminal Minds hasn't started back here yet, so please refrain from mentioning the premiere or any episode spoilers in the reviews. A review on this spoiled 'Zugzwang' for me and I don't want a repeat of that.

AmeliaPOV

I sat at my desk at the BAU, rubbing my eyes tiredly. It was nearly 9 o'clock, and we were all still here, finishing paperwork before we got the thanksgiving week off. Unfortunately, I was putting off the inevitable problem of telling my parents that I wouldn't be able to visit them over Christmas.

Because we are off call over Thanksgiving, we have to be on call over Christmas; we aren't even allowed to leave the state, let alone the country. How am I going to tell them that they have to spend Christmas without me?

We had just gotten back from a really long and hard case in Texas, and I was currently writing my reports and trying not to fall asleep. Finally! I was finished, I checked the time, half past 9. Not too late to go catch some dinner with Spencer. I stood, stretching and stifling a yawn, "Spence, you want to go to that 24 hour Indian place?" I asked him, pulling on my coat, hat and scarf; it was unnaturally cold for November, and it looked like it was about to snow.

"Sure thing." He said, pulling on his own coat and gloves.

"I'm hurt, aren't we invited?" Morgan joked

"No." I said as I pulled on my own gloves, "I've been stuck in your company all week. This is the first night we'll have to ourselves, and I plan to use it to my full advantage." I added with a wink.

Morgan wolf whistled, "have a good night you two, be safe." He called after us as we said our goodbyes and headed down towards my car.

I jumped in the front seat, starting the engine and leaving the FBI building just as the snow began to fall in tiny flakes, making clusters of white on the ground in front of me.

"It's supposed to snow like crazy tonight. That should be nice, I love the snow." I told Spencer as I drove.

"If the snow stays, maybe we could get Henry and Jack and have a snowball fight in the park?" he suggested

I smiled, "Sounds good, but are you honestly telling me you wouldn't invite Morgan?" I teased

He laughed, the sound melodic to my ears, "Of course we'd invite him." He added as we reached the Indian restaurant.

We walked inside, heading instantly to 'our booth'; it was our go to place after cases, so much so that we were beginning to be recognised and our order remembered.

"Spencer! Amelia! The usual for my two lovebirds?" called a familiar voice from behind the counter. It was Stephen, a Louisiana man with a love for Indian cuisine, the owner of the restaurant.

I laughed, "Yes please Stephen." I added as I curled up into Spencer's side in the booth, removing my hat and scarf and gloves. "It's so cold outside! We'll need the thermostat right up and blankets. Oh, and we'll need to stay very close, to keep warm you know?" I added, sipping my drink.

He smirked; he knew my game very well. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder, "According to most survival manuals, clothing should be removed so as to maximise the body heat exposure." He added in a matter-of-fact way, like he had told me that the grass is green.

I giggled, trying to give him my flirtiest look, even though part of me was sure that I had the flirtatious charm of a boiled potato, "A man usually has to buy me dinner before I allow that kind of talk Dr Reid." I added as our food arrived.

"Well, would you look at that; I'm buying you dinner." He replied cockily with a huge smirk gracing his smug little face. Damn, he had caught me out again.

After an hour of driving really slowly in the fast growing snow storm that was raging outside, we finally reached our apartment by midnight. Luckily it was nice and toasty, so the blankets wouldn't be needed after all.

"We should probably go to bed. It is kinda late." Spencer called out from the kitchen as he made some tea.

I scoffed, "It's only midnight, the night is young, we are young. Tonight, We are Young. So let's set the world on fire, we can burn brighter, than the sun!" I sang, following him into the kitchen.

"That's cute, did you make that up?" he asked, handing me my mug.

"Spencer it's on the radio all the time. It's by FUN." I prompted, stifling a giggle; he was so out of his depth sometimes.

He shook his head, still looking as perplexed as ever.

I laughed, "Oh you are funny Spencer." I said, kissing his cheek before leaving my tea to cool as I went to take out my contacts and put on my glasses.

"Why am I funny?" he asked, sounding even more confused, as if I'd just told him the sky was yellow with pink polka dots.

I emerged with my think framed glasses on. "Your little quirks, they make me love you so much more." I said, standing on my tiptoes to give him a kiss.

After a while of kissing me back, Spencer pulled away, "You really do look great in those glasses. In fact, I think you should leave them on, only them."

The tea went cold after that.

A/N: I bet this chapter was shitty, I'm sorry. I feel bad that this has taken so long, I'm just so busy as my application deadline for medical school is two weeks away and I'm so busy. Hopefully the next chapter will be in a few days. Thanks for sticking with me, I love you all for it.
