A/N: you are probably not interested in my shitty apologies that I keep on having to give you. But I am genuinely sorry. The past two months have been both the best and the worst of my life. I got a medical school interview, a rejection from a different medical school, my cat had to be put down and I've had to deal with shitloads of schoolwork as well as preparing for Christmas and then exams. I want to thank you all for your reviews, follows, favourites and dedication to this story. You make me want to continue writing when for a while it looked doubtful. To address the reviewer who called themselves 'Vallery'. You raised some points that I hadn't thought about. I shall address them in the author's note after the chapter.

I own nothing!

SpencerPOV

I couldn't believe what she had done for me, out of the kindness of her own heart. She had brought my mom here, so we could spend Thanksgiving together, it was something that I had only dreamed about the past few years.

We all sat together on the couch: Amelia, my mom and I. My mom had brought some of her many many photo albums and she and Amelia were looking through them together. I never expected the pair of them to get on so well, but there they were, laughing at my 'naked in the bath' baby pictures and chatting like two old friends.

I sat there, red faced, as another naked baby picture was passed round the room. "Mom, nobody wants to see that." I whined.

"Oh hush Spencer; you were an adorable baby, so intelligent. He spoke at seven months you know, learned to read at two. "My mom said proudly.

Amelia looked over at me with a smile, "Let me go and grab my laptop, Diana, I'll hook it up to Rossi's scanner so I can keep some of these. I want to start my own photo albums." She said, leaving the room.

I followed her upstairs to our guest room and stood in the doorway, watching her unpack. She turned, smiling, "Hello stranger, I figured I might as well unpack now, since I'm up here."

"I'll help." I said, reaching for the bag. We were heading straight from here to Vegas with my mom, so the bag was quite big. I pulled out her laptop case, setting it on the bed along with the charger.

"I'll never be able to thank you enough you know." I added, looking up at her, "you brought my mom here, it means so much."

She smiled, wrapping her arms around me, "I don't need thanks, it's a holiday, and you need to be around your family at the holidays it's the rules."

I knew that she was thinking about her own family, all those miles away. She couldn't see them at Christmas, and I knew that was hurting her more than she was letting on. It would be her first Christmas without her parents. Or would it?

I have some planning to do. She did it for me, so why can't I do it for her? I'm going to bring her parents here for Christmas. Well, I'm at least going to try.

"Well, you're still the best." I said, bending down to kiss her softly. That would never get old; kissing her. "I love you."

She smiled, "Love you too amante." She added, grabbing her laptop and heading back downstairs.

We reached the bottom of the stairs together, when Henry ran up to us, "Aunty Amy, Mom said that you can play the piano. Can you show me?" he asked excitedly

AmeliaPOV

I handed my laptop to Spencer, bending down to Henry's level. "Well of course I can, why don't you ask Jack if he wants to come too?" I asked, watching run back into the living room. I turned to Spencer, smiling, "Well Uncle Spence, do you want to come too?" I asked

He smiled, "I'm going to sit with my mom, we haven't caught up in a while." He said, kissing my cheek.

"Could you hook up my laptop to the scanner?" I asked

He nodded, "Sure thing sweetheart." He said, walking into the living room.

Turns out, Jack did want to come. So the tree of us headed to Rossi's music room like a little gang. The music room was beautiful. It housed shelf after shelf after shelf of records, cassettes, CDs of million and one different genres: Pop, Blues, Swing, Jazz, Rock, you name it, it was there.

The pride and joy of the room was the Grand Piano. It was huge, and probably cost more than a whole year of my wages. But it was beautiful. I sat on the piano stool, Henry on one side and Jack on the other. "Well boys, what shall I play?"

"Play a Disney song!" Henry exclaimed

I laughed, "Well which one? There are hundreds of them!"

"The one from the start of Toy Story!" Jack shouted enthusiastically

I smiled, beginning the opening notes of 'You've got a friend in me', and singing along when the time came.

I slipped back into the living room after going into Rossi's study to hook up Amelia's laptop to the printer. We could hear the sounds of music filtering through the house. It made me smile. I sat next to my mom, watching as she looked through the photo albums with a smile.

"She's good for you Spencer. It makes me happy to see you smile after that business with Maeve when you were in college. In this life, you don't get many chances to be truly happy. That woman is your soulmate; a mother knows these things after all. I don't want to hear that you two have broken up okay? I'll just have to fly out here and tell you off if need be. It's good to see you've put on weight too; you were too thin." She prattled on as she set aside pictures that she thought Amelia would like a copy of. Most of them were baby pictures, almost all of them with her. My dad was always the cameraman.

Suddenly, the music stopped and a very shaky 'Twinkle Twinkle' could be heard. I excused myself and wandered towards the music room. The sight warmed my heart; it was Amelia, teaching Jack and Henry to play 'twinkle twinkle' on the piano. She looked so happy, so at peace with life. It was such a change from the woman he killed a man for two months ago. She had grown and changed, just as I had. Even though I still have the odd nightmare about that fateful night our relationship changed, the night I almost lost her, it felt like everything was on the up.

She looked over at me and smiled, "Have you heard the two mini Mozart's we have here?" she said

I smiled and nodded, stepping into the room, "Yeah I did, you guys sounded great."

The pair thanked Amelia for the fun, before running off to play with the toys they had brought.

She smiled, playing some Beethoven for me as I moved to sit with her, "You play beautifully." I said, watching her fingers glide over the ivory keys.

She stopped playing, "Believe me, I never did when I first started. Grandmama Botecelli would get so frustrated with me. I have always been very scatter-brained, so I never used to have the discipline. When I began to skip school years, and my friendship pool dwindled to non-existence, it made me miss her more. So I began to play more, progress was excruciatingly slow. But I made it; it was my way of displacing my negative emotions and thoughts. Piano playing, musical theatre, ballet and books. That was all I had, until I came here, until I joined the team. This is the first time in my life that I have had real friends, people I can rely on."

It was something that had never occurred to me; that Amelia had had a hard childhood too. Ever since we had met, she had always been so social, so easy to talk to; I just assumed that she had always been that way. She acted like there was nothing that she couldn't do, but I guess not. Then again, I know how easy it is to hide your true emotions from others.

I wrapped my arm around her, hugging her, letting her know that I understand; I can relate.

She smiled, "Let's go enjoy Thanksgiving Eve." She said, pulling me off the piano stool.

I laughed, "I don't think that's a thing."

"Don't kill the Holiday spirit, this is my first Thanksgiving." She said, slapping my arm playfully.

I stopped, pulling her into a kiss, "And it's going to be the best one."

"So far" she added, "We do have our whole lives together after all."

A/N: I hope you enjoyed that chapter. Okay, the first point Vallery raised was Reid's back story with Maeve. So this is what happened between the pair of them. It's a summary as I'm going to go into more detail in an outtakes story that I'm planning:

Reid and Maeve met when they were both 19. Spencer was in his last year of his Chemistry PHD and Maeve was a Genetics student. He was the TA in the Chemistry class and that is how they caught each other's eye. They went on a few dates together, and Maeve really helped Reid to come out of his shell. However, Maeve's Ex had taken their break up badly and began to stalk her. One day, he got out of control and held Maeve hostage in her apartment. Spencer went over there to pick her up for a date, when he saw the pair of them. Despite Spencer trying to reason with him, he still ended up shooting Maeve and then himself. It was only as he felt Maeve die in his arms that he realised how much he truly cared about her. He joined the FBI after that, as he wanted to help other people like Maeve, though he retreated back into his shell until he met Amelia.

The second point was that Amelia seemed a little cliché. I have seen that, and I tried to address it a little in this chapter. I realise that I haven't done enough character development and for that I apologise. What I want to say is that Amelia felt very isolated growing up, so she taught herself all these new skills and showed off all the time in a desperate bid to make friends, which failed.

If any of you have any more questions feel free to message me or put them in a review. I hope this was worth the wait.
