"What the hell was that?!"
Sam and Dean exchanged frightened looks. They both grabbed their respective weapons and ran into the hall. Vibrations and loud crashes shook the tower. The commotion seemed to becoming from the lab. They rounded the corner and a large metal desk flew out of the lab and hit with wall with a loud explosion that sent shards of metal flying in every which way. Sam and Dean ducked and fell back.
"Holy hell!" Dean shouted. Sam asked,"What the hell is going on?!"
They peered cautiously and curiously into the lab and were only able to get a glance before a large piece of machinery was sent flying toward their way. Dean cursed. Sam said,"Was that...Was that the Hulk?"
The brothers looked inside and saw the monstrously large man roaring angrily with his hands hovering his head as if there was an immense pain in it. He swung his powerful arms at the lab desks to give him room and he growled angrily.
Steve was there in what seemed liked seconds. He was in his pajamas but he had his famous shield of patriotism at his side. He yelled at them over the roars,"What the hell happened here?"
Sam and Dean stood with their backs against the wall to keep out of the Hulk's sight. Sam opened his mouth to say something but suddenly there was a loud and earsplitting boom. There was smoke everywhere and debris went flying. There was a large hole in the wall from where the Hulk had burst through the wall. Through the smoke and debris you would see his large form heaving angrily in the hallway. His eyes were black orbs of darkness but you could see his green iris's through the black.
Sam, Dean and Steve looked on in horror. Sam said,"Oh god...He's possessed." The hulk threw his massive head back and roared, debris fell as he did so. The three of them darted in the opposite direction, his booming footsteps were trailing behind them. The hulk clutched his skull as he ran after them haphazardly. He zigzagged as he ran and his massive body destroyed the walls that he ran into.
Steve knew something was wrong. The Hulk wouldn't act out like this normally and Bruce didn't usually hulk-out for nothing.
Suddenly, the Hulk stopped running. He dropped to his knees and shook his head with a pitiful moan. The other Avengers were there by then but Steve had commanded them to keep at ease. Steve even went so far as to step toward the man-beast. He held out a friendly hand toward the hulk and said,"Hulk...its alright. You are with friends. You're safe, Hulk... I-"
The Hulk growled at him and as he did so, his green iris's seemed to glow brighter. The Hulk threw his head back for the last and loudest roar, but as he did so a black foggy substance exited his body through his mouth. When the last bit of it seemed to leave his body, his eyes went back to normal and his body limply fell to the floor. The black substance slipped out through a vent and disappeared. Sam and Dean watched as he shrunk down. They both thought the same thought,"He's a helluva lot bigger than on tv."
Steve turned to Sam and Dean. He said,"What is going on? And how do we stop it? No more games." Sam and Dean exchanged looks.
They were gathered around the round table as they discussed. Sam said,"If the demons came here and actively tried to possess one of you to get to us, there is a big chance that the demons knew that we are here. If they didn't, they know now."
Dean said,"I just need to know why the demon left Banner's body on it's own."
Tony suggested,"Banner's body is a living reactor for gamma irradiation. Maybe that type of enviorment is too hostile of a host for these things." He actually sounded like he was beginning to believe what the Winchesters had to say.
A voice from the doorway said,"I disagree..."
They all turned and saw Bruce holding himself up by the doorframe. He looked pale and tired. Steve looked at the man worriedly,"Doctor Banner, you should be resting."
Bruce's mouth twitched into a smile for a millisecond,"I think I've done enough resting...". He changed the subject,"My mind is composed of two consciouses, Mine and the Hulk's. That's one of the problems of trying to take control of the hulk. You can't take control of both consciouses."
Steve asked,"Where are you going with this Doctor?"
Bruce said,"I think I've found a solution to our problem. In theory, everyone has two different consciouses, subconscious and conscious. My subconscious and or basic fight/flight response is the hulk. With people, their consciouses aren't as night and day as mine but if we can gain access to that part of the brain, the subconscious, and kick the body's basic instinct to fight off disease and or harmful things into overdrive, we can safely and effective removed the demon without harming the host."
Tony smiled wildly. He laughed and went over to hug the man,"You are a genius, Banner! A genius!"
Bruce laughed awkwardly as he hugged him.
Sam said,"Well, before we can do anything, we need to set up some traps and put salt almost everywhere. We need to begin training soon."
Tony asked,"Where has your uh...'angel' been?" He rolled his eyes at the word angel.
Dean looked at Sam and said,"That's a damned good question." Castiel said he would be back by now, yet he was no where to be found. What was that angel up to?
Steve said,"Well while Banner and Stark are working on that, Romanov and Barton need to begin to track the location of this Crowley character. As soon as his location has been found, let me know immediately."
Dean asked,"We're not ready to go up against him, why is that important?"
Steve smirked,"I know you are new here son but The Avengers don't take a hit without returning the favor."
