King of Hearts

Chapter 57 – Taking Down Hash.

Hash's POV, Russel Residence, Boston.

"Knock! Knock! Knock! Mr. Russel? Open the door." I ordered from the other side as heard nothing from his end.

I know the old bastard is here. I tailed him from work. If he knows what's good for him he'll answer now. Inside I was about to unleash hell. No one shoots me and gets away with it. And if this geezer is the one who ordered the hit I'm going to murder him.

"Mr. Russel!? Open the fucking door! Don Soul sent me!"

I wasn't going to have this. Sending my foot into the door, the frame snapped and I entered in as the door hit the wall.

"Where are you Lenard!?" I asked in anger as I reached under my coat to pull out my Jericho 941.

With my gun trigger held and my anger at it's point, I began to search the house.

"Lenard!" I shouted as I cleared through the main floor to the stairs.

Making my way up them, I found the door at the end of the hall opened partway.

Gently stopping before the door, I pushed it open to find the old guy resting on the floor.

"Mr. Russel?" I said to him as I approached.

As got right above him, I noticed some blood under his neck.

"What the fuck?" I asked myself as I reached for his neck to turn him over.

As his side came up, I widened my eyes to see he had a bullet hole placed in his chest.

My eyes were focused on him in confusion; as my phone went off.

Cautiously standing up, I pulled out my cell phone to see it was an unknown number. Very slowly I answered.

"Who's this?" I asked in anger as I was asked.

"Hash?"

Gripping my gun, I replied.

"Who the fuck is this?! How do you know my name!?"

Looking back out into the hall to see nothing, he replied.

"Your going to pay for what you did Hash. And I say we start now."

In rage that someone was fucking with me, I ordered.

"How about you show your face and I'll start by fucking putting a round in between your skull!"

"You wouldn't like that Hash. It's not who you are."

"You don't know me asshole!" I stated as he calmly replied.

"Maybe. But I do know where you are Hash. And that's all I need to make you pay."

"Try it!" I ordered him as I heard the door downstairs open.

Immediately turning for the hall, I widened my eyes and raised my gun to see a group of men coming up the stairs with all sorts of blunt weapons. Pipes, bats, 2 by 4's, ect.

"BANG! BANG! BANG!"

Dropping the guy in front to his ass, I panicked as I heard something pierce the window to my left.

In an instant, I felt a pain enter my neck.

In confusion, I reached for my neck to find a dart stuck in my quills.

"See you soon Hash." I heard from my phone as I began to feel woozy.

Stumbling, I tried to aim as the men pushed into the room at me. But as I tried to pull the trigger, I was hit in the side of the head with a pipe.

"Bash!"

Immediately I hit the floor on my side with blood leaving my skull.

"Get the gun!" Someone ordered as a hedgehog took my Jericho 941 and put it in his pants.

Picking up my phone, I heard the man on the line order.

"Break him. Then bring him to me."

"Yes sir." The man replied as he hung up my phone and looked to everyone around me to order.

"Do it."

Pushing up with my bloody palms, I charged the man with my phone to tackle him into the nearby TV. After slamming his back into it, I felt a bat connect to my head.

"Bash!"

Dropping to my front, I looked straight to see my phone had fallen to the floor behind the now broken TV.

"Fucker!" The man I tackled shouted as he sent his boot into my head.

My head was broken open. My white quills were drenched and I couldn't make sense of what was going on. That dart must have been a tranquilizer.

Keeping to the ground without any hope in moving, I shut my eyes to feel the men begin to unload on my back.

"Bash! Bash! Bash! Bash! Bash!"

With each hit I felt something break. But as more pain came along, I began to pass out from the dart.

Don Jeremiah Soul's POV, Soul Compound, Boston, The next morning.

Something wasn't right. Hash has been gone the whole night. Not even a single call or answer from his cell. I knew he could handle himself, but something bad has happened. It's not like him to be gone like this without informing me first.

Vexer has been out since the sun rose and I got nothing. Not even a clue to where he could have went. And I told Vexer to go find where Lenard Russel worked. Maybe he could explain what happened. Maybe Hash didn't even get that far last night. God I hope he's okay. The last thing I need to happen is to lose another...?

"Ring! Ring!" Getting cut off by my office phone, I picked it up to answer.

"Don Soul speaking."

"Hey sir. It's Vexer."

Sitting up straight, I asked.

"Vexer? Any luck?"

In a sad tone, he replied.

"I got nothing yet boss. And I went to where that Russel guy works and they said he hasn't come into work."

"Did you get an address?" I asked in a concerned way as he replied.

"Yes sir. I'm on my way now."

"Call me if you find something Vexer. That's an order."

"Yes sir." Replied Vexer as he hung up.

Putting my phone down, I put my palms together and let out a deep sigh.

"Come on Hash. Where the hell are you?"

Vexer's POV, Russel Residence.

Driving ahead in utter confusion, I widened my eyes to see a family car parked outside the house. That's the one Hash took before he left the compound.

Pulling up behind the car, I got out with a few other Caporegimes to see that the tires were cut.

"Someone did this." Stated one of my men as I ordered.

"Two of you stay out here. Make sure no one comes in. Everyone else is with me. We clear the house."

Getting my gun out from behind my jacket, I approached the front door to find it unlocked.

The two Capos behind me waited, as I entered to see that the floor was covered in blood coming from upstairs.

In confusion, my men entered to follow up behind me.

Very slowly I went up to find a body resting in the hall with three rounds placed in his chest.

"Check the body." I ordered them as I continued to follow the blood up to the room at the end of the hall.

With the door left a crack open, I pushed through with my free hand to widen my eyes all around at the havoc. Blood was splashed all across the floor and bed and Mr. Russel was laying dead alongside his window. The TV was on the ground smashed and a pool of dry red blood rested in front of the stand it was once on. Putting my gun down, I asked quietly.

"Hash?"

Seeing nothing but the body of old man Russel around me. I got next to him to see a small yellow dart resting next to his leg. In confusion, I got down to pick it up.

When I used to work in the Russian military I had to use these kind of things before. It was a tranquilizer. The whole thing was empty. God there had to have been enough to drop an elephant in here.

Putting the dart down, I looked towards the TV in confusion to find something under the ruble.

It was Hash's phone.

Picking it up with my hand, I opened it to see he had five missed calls from Don Soul and myself from throughout the night. As I went to exit it out, I grew even more lost by an unknown number he had answered from the night before.

"Who is this?" I asked as my men walked in to see the scene.

"What the hell happened? Where's Hash?" One asked as I stood up to reply.

"Someone took him."

Going silent, I dialed Don Soul over Hash's phone to get an immediate answer.

"Hash?!"

"It's Vexer boss. Something bad went down here at the client's house."

"What's going on Vexer?! Where's my Underboss!?" Asked Don Soul in anger I looked back to the dart and Russel.

"He's not here. Someone came and took him."

"What do you mean took him?" He questioned, as I calmly ordered my men out of the room.

"From what I got here boss, someone knew Hash was coming."

"Russel?" He wondered as I shook my head.

"He's dead sir. It was someone else. Someone good enough to tail him and hit him with a tranquillizer dart. And judging by all the blood here, he wasn't alone. Someone really wanted to make him hurt."

"Vexer I don't care what you got to do, you find him you hear me?" Ordered Don Soul as I tossed the dart to the ground to reply.

"Yes sir."

"Keep me in touch Vexer. That's an order."

Hanging up on me in a split second, I put down Hash's phone to look once again at the unknown number. If by any chance this was another setup, then it's a good idea to think that this number is a disposable. Yet it's all I got right now. I should get this traced first before roaming the streets for my brother in crime. I hope he's alive.

Any idea who could be behind this? We already know it's not Morgue. So who could it be? An old client? A man out for revenge? Who knows? Guess we'll find out soon. Remember to leave a love and a hug and I'll have another chapter up soon.
