King of Hearts

Chapter 67 – Don Skier.

Don Pitch Robotnik's POV, Outside Skier compound, New York.

I stayed back enough that I wasn't going to get shot. Everyone else was heading for the gate. Rover was tasked with keeping me safe and Lace was pushing through the front door. In time Damien would be inside and Skier would be dead.

Staying by one of the cars we drove here, I focused on the men who were attacking the gate. Lace hid herself well as the gate guards were taken down with ease.

"Move forward men!" I shouted as Lace looked to her squad to order.

"Get that gate open!"

Skier's men were slowly losing their foothold. And with the gate soon to fall it would only be a matter of time. As I kept myself down Rover came over to state.

"According to Damien most of Skier's men hightailed it out of the compound before we got here. Anyone who stayed is ether stupid or deadly loyal to the family."

Nodding my head I asked.

"Is he inside?"

Nodding Rover replied.

"He went through the basement to get a drop on them from inside. He should be to Skier soon."

Nodding my head as the gate was broken open, I watched as Lace and her men made their way forward. Skier was going to be a dead man soon. And New York? It will once again belong to Robotnik. I hope my father is proud.

Damien's POV, Skier compound basement.

This was the saddest defense of a don I have ever seen. Skier must have known his men would have left him alone like this. Its amazing still that anyone stayed. Too bad it won't help him in the long run. I'll be with him shortly. Just as soon as I get by Jackson. I heard he was on guard outside Skier's office. The kid has no idea what he's fighting for. He wasn't ready to be an Underboss.

Making my way up a set of old wooden stairs, I found my exit onto the main floor. As I opened it up I found only a few men holding down the fort. Some were running back in from outside. Guess Lace got through. Not surprising.

Exiting into the hallway, I kept my P226 up to my chest as I heard a man coming from around the bend. As soon as he came into sight, I took him by the throat and held his mouth close. Falling into my arms, I turned his neck and listened to the sound of his spine snapping in two.

"Snap!"

Pushing his body to the ground, I moved ahead to find Skier's office up a small flight of stairs. Jackson was standing by the door in fear. I saw his arms shaking. He had to know this was it.

As most of the remnants of the Skier family were trying their best to hold off the front door, I calmly proceeded up the stairs to face Jackson who instantly panicked at the sight of me. Sending his gun towards me I pulled up mine to pull the trigger before he could even get the chance.

"BANG!"

Hitting him in the shoulder, Jackson sent his gun away and fell back along the door leading to Don Skier to beg.

"Stop! Please!"

Letting out a sigh, I put my gun down to approach him.

Looking into my eyes he stated.

"I'm just a kid man! I'm over my head here! Let me go! Please Damien!"

Looking down to my gun I replied.

"No."

Jackson was begging for his life. But I wasn't about to take any chances. Kid or no kid I killed younger.

Aiming for his neck I grasped my trigger to hear.

"Don't! Oh my...! BANG!"

The bullet stuck right in his pipe. I smiled to him gagging on it and in a slow pity I placed my foot under his chin to push in.

"Ughh! Ruaghh! SNAP!"

Almost immediately after I gave it enough force, Jackson's neck broke and his head rest on my shoe. Gently pulling back, I watched as he fell to the side of the door.

"Stupid kid." I mumbled as I took a hold of the knob.

Pushing open the door I found Skier out of sight. But I could hear the sounds of fear coming from under his desk.

Approaching him I urged.

"Just come on out Skier. We both know how this will go down."

Not responding to me, I shook my head and went around the desk to find him with his hands up.

"No! Leave me alone Damien!" He ordered as I reached for his head.

"Come on out here." I demanded as I yanked him out from under the desk and in front of me knees.

As his shaking body came before me did he beg.

"Let me go Damien! I'll never come back! I swear!"

Letting out a small chuckle I replied.

"It's too late for that Skier. Your time is now but I won't be the one killing you here today."

In confusion he questioned.

"Wait what?"

Sending the side of my gun into his head, I watched as he roughly slammed into his desk.

After falling back onto the ground did I go to take him by the neck.

"Please!" He begged as I shook my head to reply.

"No."

Pulling him up to his feet, I began to drag him out of the office.

Lace's POV.

"BANG! BANG!"

Taking down the men at the front door, my men held the corner as I looked to see Damien making his way out with Don Skier at his side. Skier's head was busted open and in confusion I said.

"Damien!?"

Walking by us as he dragged Skier in his hand, he ordered.

"Stand down Lace! This isn't your problem! It's his."

Everyone was dead. The only one left was Skier. With my men standing down I began to follow Damien as he went towards Pitch who was making his way in through the gate with Rover and some guards. Stop in an instant do Damien throw Skier in front of himto order.

"Finish it!"

"What's your problem!?" Asked Rover as Skier went to grab Pitch's leg in fear of dying.

"This is his war! He's going to be the one to end it! Pitch!"

Looking to Damien, Pitch panicked as he tossed him his gun to order.

"Kill him!"

Skier was confused. The wound made him unable to fight back as everyone was now around us in a circle to watch as Pitch struggled with the gun.

Grabbing the weapon out of his hand Rover shouted to Damien.

"He's not killing anyone! Now you need to stand...?" Cutting him off Damien stated.

"He is the don! It's his war! It's his kill! He proves he's a capable leader by taking charge of his life and doing the right thing here and now!"

In anger he questioned.

"He's not like you! He's not a killer!"

"He's everything like me! He's my family and I know he can do it! Now give him back the gun and let him make his father proud by doing what he was born to do. Kill him Pitch!" He ordered as I ordered.

"Don't you do it kid! This isn't who you are!"

"Shut the fuck up Lace! He's none of you concern and it isn't your call! Now do what your meant to do Pitch! Kill Skier now!" Ordered Damien as Rover looked to Pitch to order.

"Don't. Stay."

Don Pitch Robotnik's POV.

Remaining still as Damien grew mad enough to push towards me. After stealing the gun out of Rover's hands Damien shouted.

"Do it!"

Roughly slamming it back in my palms, I replied to his demands.

"No. I don't want too."

Looking directly into my eyes Damien stated.

"Your a Rose. You do what your father made you to do. Kill. Him. Now."

Lowering the gun as Skier held his leg, I replied.

"No. I won't. I'm not like you or my father. I'm not a killer Damien."

Shaking his head Damien shouted.

"It's not about being a killer! It's about proving you got the balls to end what you started!"

"We'll I'm not going to trade my sanity for it. Because of you and my father, the Rose family is a name of horror. I won't add to it. And by the time I'm gone from this world I plan on letting the world know that I tried to be something other then what we are known for. I'm going to be a man Damien. Just not the way you think I should be."

My uncle stared at me in such rage I swear he was about to lose it. But as seconds passed he looked down to Don Skier to pull the trigger on his left eye.

"BANG!"

Splattering under my feet, I watched as Damien made his way out of the compound in speed. Now with the rest of my family focusing to me I ordered in a lost tone.

Secure the compound. I'm heading back home. Rover, let's go.

Nodding and taking me by the shoulder. Rover began to guide me back to the car. Lace stayed behind with her men as instructed. With my uncle now out of sight, Rover helped me in to ask.

"You okay Pitch?"

I was unaware if I should say yes or no. So many things seemed wrong and right all at the same time. Just nodding, Rover began to drive me home where the men that stayed behind all began to congratulate me for the death of Skier. I wanted to be happy that he was now dead, but Damien made that impossible now. I'm not a killer. I don't plan on being like him and I know my real dad didn't make me to be that ether.

Does anyone know what Damien's problem is? Leave a love and a hug and let me know what you think. I'll have another chapter on Monday for you all to read.
