King of Hearts
Chapter 78 – Gentle Sleep.
Don Pitch Robotnik's POV, Robotnik compound, New York.
I woke up with Lace in my arms. She was still out of it from last night's round two. I've never experienced someone like her before. She was full of passion and energy I first thought she never had. But thankfully I was able to see it for the first time. A Lace who was listening to me. Not the other way around.
Running my hand through her messy quills, I began to feel a gentle purr radiating off her person. She was still asleep but it was too cute to stop.
After a few more minutes of rubbing her soft body, I gave her a kiss on the neck and slowly made my way up to her cheek. Giving her a smile and a soft stare, I carefully got out of bed being sure not to wake her. It took some work of course, but she was a rock.
Making my way to the bathroom, I got a shower ready and jumped in to quickly get cleaned up and soon dressed. God knows I have something to do today. There seems to always be a problem of some sort.
Making my way out of the bathroom in due time, I came back to still a sleeping hedgehog. Ether I rode her good or she really needed to rest it off. And I wasn't going to disturb.
Exiting my room to find Laith gone from his post, I calmly proceeded to my office to find Rover waiting for me at my desk.
"Morning kid." He said with a smile as I looked at him to reply.
"Good morning Rover. What's up? Why you here so early?"
With a couple papers in hand, he replied.
"Got some legal papers for you to sign concerning the compound takeover and the new soldiers."
After handing me them, he then added.
"And word is going around that Don Soul is going to shit over in Boston."
"Why?" I wondered as he slowly stated.
"Word is Hash has gone missing and he can't find him."
"So what does this mean to us?" I questioned as he looked into my eyes to reply.
"Not much. But Don Morgue could take advantage of it and try and kill Soul. Now that would be a war don't get me wrong. A lot more people would die unlike what went down with Skier. So that leaves us with something to watch for now."
"Is there anything going on today that I need to be concerned about yet?"
Giving it some thought Rover soon replied.
"Besides those papers in your hand, there is just that matter of assigning someone to look after the other compound. You can't be at both places at once. Someone needs to manage it."
"What about you?" I questioned as he shook his head to state.
"My job is to keep you alive. I need to remain here where I can be sure your safe. The person you need to pick should at least be a Caporegime with some leadership background."
Quick to decide I wondered.
"What about my uncle?"
"I have not a clue where Damien even is Pitch. He's been missing since the attack on Skier."
"You think he's in trouble?"
Shaking his head Rover replied.
"He's probably just blowing off some steam. He got really mad when you stuck to your beliefs. Just give him some time. I'm sure he'll come around. Until then though you should give this some thought. Decide later."
Nodding I went behind my desk to be asked.
"Oh, have you seen Lace? I need her to help me organize this mess."
Smiling at the question I replied.
"She's resting. I gave her the day off."
With wide eyes Rover questioned.
"You give her the day off? What about me? What if I want to spend some time with my family?"
Chuckling I replied.
"She didn't feel good last night. I'm just looking out for her. And if you really want to go home early just help me with this paperwork. I have no problems with you going home to see your kids Rover."
Giving me a smile Rover approached to reply.
"I'm just messing around kid. Don't worry about it. Is she sick?" He asked with concern as I shrugged my shoulders to reply.
"I don't know. Last time I saw her she was sleeping it off. I'll check in on her later. She's a fit girl though so I bet she'll beat whatever it is out of her system before you know it." I replied as Rover smiled and got behind my desk with me.
I couldn't imagine what it would be like to tell Rover the truth. He may kick my ass for doing it, or maybe hi five me. I never can read him. But as the subject died out we soon got down to business.
Lace's POV, Two hours later.
I woke up naked to find Pitch no where in sight.
With a smile I sat up to assume he must be off doing Don things.
After letting out a yawn and a gentle stretch of my arms and legs, I pulled myself over the side of the bed to get my panties back on. Little did I know however I was a mess from last night. My quills were all fucked up and I needed a shower. Only shows it was a good time.
Making my way into Pitch's bathroom, I got a nice shower and got what clothes I had from last night back on. I'm sure no one will know.
Gently making my way out of his room, I proceeded to his office where I found him alone working on some reports.
"Hey." I greeted as he broke from his train of thought to look towards the door with a smile.
"Hey. You're up." He stated as I entered to reply.
"Lucky for you I did. Otherwise I would have slept the whole day away."
Making my way to him, I got behind his desk to take him by the hand. Getting up from his seat, I gave him a soft kiss and a tight hug before saying.
"Despite your age kid you were great last night."
Chuckling Pitch asked.
"So just cause I'm young you figured I couldn't please you?"
Looking into his eyes with my arms still around him, I replied.
"No not at all. I'm just saying I expected you to be easier to please then me."
Running his hand along my back he then said.
"Well unfortunately for you I'm not that easy."
Looking deep into his eyes I whispered.
"And ahhhh...I'm still a little shocked by...well you know."
Giving me a chuckle he replied.
"And it's yours whenever you need it."
Blushing, we were both caught off guard as Rover came in to see us together.
"Let the kid go Lace. He's almost done his job for today."
Releasing Pitch, I asked.
"Don't you know how to kill a moment?"
Laughing as he entered, Rover then replied.
"I do. My wife hits me all the time for it. But how about we talk about you two really fast? Be honest with me. Are you two dating now or something?"
Looking to Pitch for the answer, he soon replied.
"Something like that. I want to be certain we're safe from any threats before taking it public."
"So this is a secret between the three of us now right?" I asked to be sure as Pitch nodded and looked to Rover for his answer.
"I'm happy for you guys I am. I won't say a word. Just be careful."
"I got this Rover." Stated Pitch as I questioned.
"Do you?"
Smiling back at me, he replied.
"Yes, I do. I'll keep you safe from any more danger then you're already in working for me. The last thing I want is for you to get hurt Lace."
Rover smiled and shook his head as I gave Pitch one last kiss.
"Ahhh young love. I remember that. Just wait till your married. One of you will kill the other."
Laughing at Rover, Pitch calmly retook his seat to reply.
"Well in the meantime we drop the subject and carry on with our normal lives. Rover? Here are those reports. And if you have time later I need someone to set up a meet with the other Caporegimes. It doesn't have to be now. I just need everyone together so we can talk."
"Not a problem kid. I'll let everyone know a time."
Slowly looking to me next, Pitch then said.
"And as for you. I would like it if you went to our new compound and see how things are going. With all the new men we got coming in we need to be sure we have a place for them to stay. So go get that done and you'll be free to do what you want the rest of the day. That goes for you too Rover. Now you can't say I don't give you time off."
Chuckling at him, Rover replied.
"When it comes to you I never have time off. Even if I'm at home, worrying about you is a twenty four seven job."
Making his way out of his office, Pitch refocused on me to ask.
"Aren't you going?"
Giving him a smile I replied.
"After this."
Pulling him in for another kiss, Pitch watched as I slowly left his office.
Don Pitch Robotnik's POV.
With a red face and a smile on as she left my sight, I retook my seat and took a look around my desk.
As things seemed to be okay, I looked to my desk phone as it went off.
Taking it into my hand I answered.
"Hello?"
Getting silence back, I asked again.
"Hello? Who is this?"
I heard a faint breath just before the phone went cold. It left me in confusion as I hung up to look back at my office door.
Quickly forgetting about it, I refocused on my daylight duties. But something was telling me to keep an eye out. In a way that phone call made me feel weary.
I wonder who it was. Make sure to leave a review and let me know what you think. I'll have a Kingdom chapter up tomorrow.
