Kinda sad to already be of this mindset, but…I'm ready for summer. I constantly look at myself in the mirror and feel that I've clocked out, but it's whatever. I'll be in Washington DC after this semester ends so it'll almost certainly be better than where I'm at now.

Chapter 27: Money Doesn't Grow on Trees

"Damn! How the hell am I already out of cash?"

"Well, think about it, Beat: you've been going out with Eri at least two or three days every week, you don't have a job, and your allowance realistically isn't enough for one date, let alone enough to sustain multiple outings."

"This sucks…I can't even afford to fix my skateboard like this…could I borrow some money from you, Rhyme?"

"Not a chance."

"Please, Rhyme?"

"What, you think money just grows on trees? Go look for some employment or something!"

"Gah, fine…"

Five Minutes Later…

"Rhyme, you'll never believe what I found out in our–"

"Oh, shut up and go spend your money that only some terribly unimaginative author would bother to bestow you with."
