Disclaimer: I still don't own Twilight, but wouldn't it be awesome if I did?!
A/N: So I'm sorry to tell you know this chapter won't be as long as the last one, but it will be just as good I promise.
I've quickly call in the pizza and takes spot on the couch next to Charlie. I'm honestly surprised he hasn't moved to his chair by now. I smile as I feel him wrap his arm around my shoulder as we watch one of his games until the pizza shows up 20 minutes later. Charlie volunteers to get the door and pay for the pizza.
Charlie and I eat in silence as I think about how what I'm going to say to Tanya. All I can think about is the look in the Denali's eyes when I ran out of the house. I don't think I would be able to survive if they all left me because of this. I decided its best if I stopped thinking about it and just enjoy my time with Charlie for a few more hours. I don't know what happened and I'm not sure if I want to find out.
Tanya's P.O.V.
I watch as Bella's eyes turn a vibrant violet as everybody is hurled towards a wall as I feel the muscles in Bella's back relax. I sit there confused by what all is going on. I watch as Bella stands up and slowly walks over to Edward and come to a stop a few feet in front of him.
"Why do you always talk about Tanya as if you know anything about her? Honestly I should kill you right now simply because you don't have the power to stop me." I watch as she steps closer and lifts her hand and places it over his heart.
When I hear Edward screaming in agony I quickly come to his aid, but I'm not doing it for him I doing it for Bella. I know she would never be able to forgive herself if she actually did kill Edward.
I quickly wrap my arms around her waist and pull her as close as I can. "Angel I need you to calm down and let everybody go. I understand what Edward said upset you, but please for me let it go this time." I whisper in her ear trying to sooth her anger.
I feel her body start to relax as I watch Edward fall to the floor holding his chest. I didn't notice how lose my grip on Bella had gotten as I feel her leave my arms and run to the door. She stops briefly stops to look at my family before she takes off into the woods towards the house. "Bella!" I quickly yell after her but she ignores me and keeps running.
I decide to follow her but am quickly stopped by my family. "Tanya what the hell just happened in there? Are you okay?" Irina asks as she quickly looks me over to make sure I'm not injured.
"Honestly I don't even know. Edward kept insulting me and I could feel Bella's body becoming tenser as the insults kept coming. The next thing I know everybody is being help up against the wall except for Bella and I. Her eyes were a bright violet and she's eerily calm. She walked up to Edward and threatened to kill him as you heard and then she placed her hand over his heart and that's when the screaming started. Eleazar what in the hell was that? I thought she said she was a shield! I have never seen a shield do that!" I shout letting my frustration take over.
"I don't know for sure if Bella could possibly possess more abilities. She is a shield, but I would have no clue if said should could block my ability from working on her." I feel my heart break as I remember the soul crushing sob Bella released as she ran away from us...from me.
"What are we going to do about Bella?" Laurent says finally walking out of the house dusting off his clothes.
"All of you need to go find her. She ran away feeling fear and rejection. She felt the rejection when she ran out of the door and saw all of you standing her. Jasper says as he follows Laurent out of the house.
"What could we have possibly done to cause her to feel that way?" Carmen asks genuinely confused by what Jasper just said.
"Bella is very good at reading people. As you all know Bella doesn't really like to put herself out there that much so she spends a lot of time watching and observing. She knows how to read people's emotions right off of theirs faces, and when she saw fear on all of your faces it added on to her fear and she most likely thought all of you were feeling like that because of her. That in turn probably led to the rejection." This has been one of the best and worst weekends of my life that seems to keep going and going.
"We can go talk to her if you would like?" Carlisle says gesturing between him and Esme as the rest of the Cullen's join us outside.
"All of you have done enough for one weekend thank you!" I growl as I realize the root to all of our problems with Bella is because of them.
"I'm sure if I went over there and talked to her..." I quickly cut Edward off because honestly he's the reason why this whole situation went from bad to worse.
"I'm sorry did you already manage to forget how Bella handed you your ass with a single touch? If you went over there this time I wouldn't stop her from killing you." I growl as I feel myself quickly being held back by Eleazar and Laurent. Nothing would satisfy me more than ripping Edward's head off his shoulders. I hear Edward growl as he hears my thoughts and I couldn't resist the smile.
"Tanya, focus for me please. Why did you stop Bella from killing Edward?" I hear Eleazar ask from behind me as he still has me in a death grip.
"My angel would never be able to forgive herself if she killed him." I calm down a little bit probably thanks to Jasper's gift.
"See that must mean that Bella still loves me!" I don't know if Edward is delusional or just that damn desperate, but either way I'm sick of it!
"That's not what that means! That means Bella is a kind hearted person who doesn't enjoy hurting people even if they deserve it. Also I'm tired of being patient with you hoping that you'll get the hint that Bella doesn't want you anymore, but clearly that's not going to happen. Bella isn't yours she's mine. Have you ever heard the saying one man's trash is another man's treasure. Newsflash your trash is my mate! Deal with it!" I shout completely feed up with this entire situation simply because I have to deal with it instead of running after Bella to make sure she's okay.
"Tanya you and your family need to leave now because Bella is more important than dealing with Edward right now. Both of you can deal with this at a later time and date. Your main priority isn't here right now." Alice says intervening before a fight could break out between Edward and I. This by the way would have been more of an ass whooping on his part.
"Why do tomorrow what we can easily do today?" Edward growls as he crouches down into a fighting stance.
I don't even have time to crouch down before Edward is being blocked from my view by Esme who is quick to backhand him across the face.
"Edward Masen Cullen now is not the time or place for your ego to get in the way. Bella has made it clear that you aren't the person she wants, and if you really did love her you would respect her decision and let her be happy. Now it's your fault Bella left because you didn't know how to be mature. I will be damned if I allowed you to stand in Tanya's way of fixing your mess again!" Now I'm not saying I'm afraid of Esme, but I would not want to be on the receiving end of her lecture right now.
"See Edward I always knew you were a bitch because you just got pimp slapped!" I roll my eyes at my little sisters antics. Leave it to Kate to want to rub salt in Edward's wounds which I would have happily done myself if I didn't have other things to do.
I quickly take off towards Bella's house hearing my family close behind me. I push myself to go as fast as I possibly could and was able to make it there in 5 minutes flat. I make it to the front door when I overhear Bella talking to her father about me.
I decide to wait for their conversation to be over before I make an appearance. I quickly race back to the tree line to wait with the rest of my family for the right time.
"What are you doing? Why didn't you knock on the door or something?" Kate asks me confused.
"She's talking to Charlie about me and I don't want to interrupt them." Partially true I also want to know what Bella is going to say about me.
"She also wants to easy drop and see what Bella is going to say about her." Irina says sounding bored by my actions.
"Does she make you happier than that boy ever did?" I hear Charlie ask sounding very protective.
"Honestly dad I've never been so happy in my entire life. I feel like Tanya truly is the love of my life." I can't resist the smile that breaks out across my face at Bella's confession.
"Well damn Bella is just in a confessing mood today. Also right now might be a bad time to point this out, but Bella told you she loved you on twice, and you never said it back. Like I said now probably isn't the best time to tell you, but you know whenever you finally use the pair that you already have you should squeeze that you love her back in there somewhere." Leave it to Kate to make a bad situation worse, and make me feel like shit on top of it.
"Kate was now really the best time to bring that up?" Carmen asks shaking her head at Kate's terrible timing.
"Well considering Bella has Tanya wrapped around her little finger I felt like it was appropriate to let her know something that might help fix this! Excuse me for trying to be a good sister and be helpful!" I understand where she was coming from, but why does she always have to make it so I want to slap her?
"Why do you make it sound like I'm the only one standing here wrapped around Bella's little finger? Last I checked I wasn't the only one who rushed over here." I fire back challenging Kate to say otherwise.
"I resent that statement! I'm not wrapped around her finger I'm simply very protective of Bella because she's finally the youngest." Oh is that the lie she's going to go with?
"Kate you really shouldn't lie to yourself like that. You are just as pathetic when it comes to Bella as the rest of us well except for Tanya. She takes it to a whole new level but that's to be expected." Irina says as she rolls her eyes as Kate.
"I don't even understand how that could happen. Bella doesn't just have one vampire family that wants but two! How does this even happen over a human?" Kate whines as she throws her hands up in the air.
I feel my phone vibrate in my back pocket and quickly check to see who it is. I was slightly hope it is Bella even though I can still hear her talking to her father. I was somewhat sad to see that it was just Alice.
We call it the Bella Effect.
I laugh as I read the text message and quickly show to each of my family members so they can join in on the joke. "Alice is right we have all fallen victim to the Bella Effect and honestly I wouldn't have had it any other way." Eleazar says as he wraps his arms around Carmen's waist and pulls her close.
We all quiet down at the same time and focus in on what's going on in the house. "Well you're certainly not the same Bella as before. You know I suspected that you and Tanya were more than just friends because she's literally always here helping you with your homework or cooking for you. Don't get me wrong as a father I'm not happy that she's that boy's cousin or that she's 8 years older than you. But again as your father I support you in anything you do and realize that you're 18 years old and don't need my permission. But keep in mind if she hurts you I'm going to shoot her." I can't decide if I should be happy that Charlie is so supportive, or if I should be concerned with him threatening to try and shoot me.
"Well we all know that a bullet can't hurt you, but I would happily rip off a few limbs if you dare ever hurt Bella." Laurent says as he tries not to laugh at the thought of Charlie trying to shoot me.
"Honestly Laurent if I did somehow hurt Bella I wouldn't stop you. Hell I might even do it myself." I answer honestly. The last thing I would ever want to do is hurt my beautiful angel even if it is on accident.
"You two are honestly making us look even more shameful than we already are. We are standing outside hiding behind trees waiting for Tanya to decide when it's the right time to finally go and fix things with Bella. We are already looking shameful standing out here like a bunch of stalkers. Want to know why? Because the Bella Effect has set deep into our bones and nobody was prepared except Tanya!" I knew Kate would somehow work her way to acceptance of the fact that she's just as wrapped up as the rest of us.
"You know you don't have to stay if you don't want too. You're more than welcome to head back home if you so please and we'll meet you back there when we're done." I say to my sister giving her an out.
"I never said I wanted to leave all I was trying to say is that Laurent isn't going to be the only person ripping your limbs off." Kate mumbles as she crosses her arms over her chest and turns back towards the house.
"Good I'm glad we have that settled now will you two please be quiet the last thing we need to for Charlie to over here us." Carmen says as we all quickly go quiet and listen to what's going on in the house.
So far nothing has changed besides the fact that Bella and Charlie are now waiting a football game on TV and just enjoying each other's company. I'm so glad Bella has maintained a good relationship with her father. She needs somebody she can talk to who isn't a vampire. We silently watch as the pizza that Bella ordered is delivered and Charlie quickly pays for it.
"I don't understand how the Cullen's could just up and leave Bella without a fight." Irina says as she gets tired of us standing in silence just waiting.
"Edward convinced them that it was the right thing to do and it was what Bella wanted." Carmen says as she starts to get restless waiting for Bella to go to her room.
"Bella would have to tell us to our faces that she wanted us to leave and you know even then we wouldn't. She's like the missing part to our family that we didn't even know was missing." Eleazar says as she gently gives Carmen a kiss happy that our family is filling out.
I sigh as I hear everything that my family is saying and I feel my heartache more. I really want to see Bella and talk to her and hold her in my arms. I want to make sure that everything is okay between all of us.
"Oh for the love of God just go knock on her door! I'm sure she's wondering why you haven't shown up by now anyway." Kate says as she becomes irritated with my constant shifting and fidgeting.
"I don't want to interrupt her time with her father. They don't get to spend that much time with him since either Carmen or I are always there doing something or she's with us. But at the same time I don't want her to spend her whole time with her father going over worst case scenarios." I sigh as I continue to fidget as I watch the house as of it might disappear if I look away.
"Either you go knock on the door or I will!" Carmen says as she starts heading towards the door looking determined as ever.
I quickly grab her arm and pull her back. "Fine I'm going!" I groan as I slowly start walking back to her front door and take a deep breath as I knock gently.
I hear Charlie get up with a grunt as he makes his way over to the door. The door flies open and I try to keep my emotions in check as Charlie and I stare each other down.
"Good evening Mr. Swan. Is Bella here?" I ask already knowing the answer, but of course he doesn't know that.
"I was wondering when you were going to show up. I'm surprised it too you so long honestly." He says as he steps out of the way to let me into the house.
I sigh in relief as I see Bella sitting on the couch watching the game with a faint smile on her gorgeous face. "Hey dad who was at the...oh." She says trailing off as she looks up and sees me.
"I just wanted to make sure you were okay." I whisper as Bella quickly looks away from me and focuses on anything in the living room.
"Why don't you go up to Bella's room and talk? Tanya you and I will be having a talk one of these days, but right now you two should talk." Charlie says as I feel his eyes on the back on my neck as I continue to stare at Bella waiting for her to say something. At this point I'll accept anything.
"No that's okay Mr. Swan I just wanted to make sure Bella got here safely. I hope you both enjoy your evening." I say as I turn around to leave. I feel my heart sink more and more the closer I got to the door.
I make it all the way outside and half way back to my family at a normal pace before I hear somebody behind me. "Hi," she whispers gently as she comes to a stop a few feet away from me.
I quickly turn around and try and close the distance between us, but every step I took forwards she takes one back. "Hi," I whisper back as I try to push down the pain I feel in my chest.
"Why are you here?" She asks softly as she looks at the ground. Times like this make me wish I could read what was running through her beautiful mind.
"I wanted to make sure you were okay. I called after you and you just ignored me and kept running. I don't understand what happened. Why did you run?" I know what Jasper said, but I want to hear Bella say it in her own words.
"I don't know what happened or what I did to Edward, but I felt like I couldn't stay there. When I got outside your whole family was standing there looking at me in fear. So I ran." I really wish she would at least look at me. I miss starring into her deep chocolate brown eyes.
"I need you to do two things for me right now. 1. Please look at me. I miss looking into your amazing brown eyes. 2. I need you to take a walk with me." I realized after I said it that I had made a terribly stupid mistake.
"Are you here to tell me that you're leaving?" She asks as she crosses her arms over her chest almost in a protective manner as tears start to run down her face.
Before I even have a chance to answer Carmen is gently gathering Bella in her arms. I turn to see the rest of the family standing close behind me no longer caring if Bella's neighbors are watching us. Right now our one and only priority is setting the record straight with Bella.
"Bella sweetheart please don't think that. We would never leave you. We all love you wat too much to ever do that." Carmen says as she hugs Bella tighter and gently starts to rub her back and rock back and forth trying to console her.
"All of you looked so afraid of me and I just...I don't want you to go..." She says starting to sob and hug Carmen tighter if that's even possible.
I look to one of my family members standing behind me. I feel like crying myself as I watch my angel breakdown before my eyes. "Carmen," I whisper softly as I look at her with pleading eyes.
Luckily she understands what I need and slowly starts to pry Bella's arms from around her neck as I quickly step in to take her place. My angel quickly latches her arms around my neck and sobs into my shoulder. I gently place my hands underneath Bella's knees and pick her us as I slide down to the ground.
I watch as the family forms a circle around us and gently start to rock Bella as she sits in my lap. "I'm sorry," she whimpers in-between sobs.
"Bella please don't apologize you haven't done anything wrong." Eleazar says as he places a calming hand on Carmen's shoulder.
"But you were all afraid of me." She whimpers as she starts to slowly calm down.
"You misunderstood Bella. We weren't afraid of you we were afraid for you. We had no clue what was going on in the house and when we heard Edward screaming we were terrified that something was going to happen to you." I was surprised that it was Kate saying all of this.
"Really?" Bella asks still hiding her face in my shoulder as her death grip around my neck holds true. Off in the distance I could tell some of the Cullen's were watching us.
"Bella you're part of the family now and unlike the Cullen's when we say that we actually mean it. We would never even consider leaving Forks unless you were planning on coming with us. I mean seriously we built a house here because you couldn't and wouldn't come to Denali with us." I say as the rest of my family is quick to agree with me.
"Not even if Tanya asks all of you to leave. I mean she is Coven Leader and my mate." Bella says as she finally removes her head from my shoulder and looks at me.
"Well I would never do that because I'm your mate so I can't be away from you for too long without causing myself unbearable pain. Besides when it comes to you being Coven Leader is simply a title it doesn't actually mean anything." I say with a smile as she finally looks into my eyes. I gently start the brush the tears out of her eyes as she plays with a piece of my hair.
"Do you really mean that?" My angel asks me as she starts to run her fingers through my hair.
"I would never lie to you angel." I whisper as I lean my forehead against hers. I'm just so happy to have her in my arms again and I don't even care that my family is still sitting around watching us.
I smile even more as I feel Bella starting to lean in closer to me. I feel her lips gently touch mine and I'm quick to deep then kiss. I was so worried I would never be able to do this again, and the fact that it has and better yet she told her father about us has again made this one of the best weekends ever for me.
All too soon the kiss is over and Bella and I are again leaning our heads against each other's as we simple enjoy being. As I gaze into Bella's eyes I remember what Kate said about using the pair I have. "I love you too." I whisper as I watch the expression on her face change from confusion to embarrassment.
"Girls it's getting late and Bella has school tomorrow. How about we finish talking at a more reasonable hour?" Carmen says always being the mother of the situation.
I sigh as I sadly and slowly remove Bella from my lap and stand up and quickly turn to help her up behind me. Bella is quick to give everybody a hug before she grabs my hand and leads me back to her front door. I listen to the family and the Cullen's take off hopefully back to our respective houses. The last thing we need is a fight breaking out.
"Are you going to stay tonight?" Bella asks as we make it to her front porch and stop.
"Don't I stay every night angel?" I smile as Bella quickly wraps her arms around my waist and lays her head on my shoulder.
"Yes, but I was worried that you wouldn't tonight." She says into my shoulder as I wrap my arms around her waist and gently kiss her forehead.
"I'll be here every night that you want me angel." I can hear Charlie walking to the door as he hears our voices.
"I love you," she says as she picks her head up off my shoulder and looks into my eyes.
"I love you too," I say back as I hear Charlie stop by the front door.
I sadly release her from my grasp and take a step back just as Charlie opens the door. He quickly looks me up and down before he turns his attention to Bella. "Bella you should probably be heading to bed now. You still have school to think about." I feel like the last part of that sentence was directed more at me than her.
"Okay dad. Goodnight Tanya." She whispers as she quickly walks past her father.
"I'll see you here tomorrow at 10 a.m. sharp. Goodnight." Charlie says as he gives me a curt nod before closing the door.
I never knew one sentence could strike such fear in my heart. I quickly shake that thought as I make my way to Bella's room to enjoy one more night with my angel before I possibly meet my untimely demise by the hands of her father. I know in my head I'm probably blowing this out of proportion, but how would you feel if your girlfriend's father, who's the police chief, said that to you?
As I gracefully hop through my beloved angels' window I quickly wipe all thought of what her father said from my mind and instead enjoy every sound she makes while I pull her into my arms as she settles in for the night.
A/N 2: Now for all the people who keep messaging wondering why Bella seems whiny this was why! It made this moment seem better in my head. Also clearly the Denali's aren't afraid of her, and Tanya isn't being dramatic about her meeting with Charlie. Can anybody say interrogation?!
