Surprise at the end... enjoy.
I don't own anything except this ring pop that my boyfriend bought for me that I'm currently enjoying eating as I type this.
All Ross could think about now was: finally.
He was finally out of the hospital and going home.
When his doctor gave him the okay, all he wanted to do was jump up in the air and celebrate. Though, he felt that might be a bit inappropriate so he pretty much kept his cool.
His therapist had kept his doctor updated on his health as well as his mother and since he was doing very well, he could go home.
Though, he still had to go to the three time a week weekly group and private therapy sessions. That part kinda sucked but he knew it was for his own good, so he accepted it instead of just fought against it.
"So, you ready to get out of this place?" He looked up from the chair he was sitting on to see Alex take the seat right beside him. He turned to look at her and she grinned at him.
"So ready, you have no idea."
"No, no, I think I do." She answered and they both laughed. Stormie walked over to them just then.
"Alright, Ross, you're free."
Ross pumped his fist, "hell yeah!" He said and then laughed with Alex again. He looked around, "where's Laura?"
"She's at home, waiting for you," Stormie told him, "she wasn't feeling well this morning so.. she's resting."
Ross looked at his mother, concerned, "is she okay?"
"Yeah, she's fine. Just… pregnant." His mother answered and then she hugged him. "I'll come by to see you later okay?"
He nodded and hugged her back, "thanks mom."
With that, Stormie left and he was alone with Alex. He stood up, grabbing his things and then after talking for a few moments with his doctor, he finally was out of the hospital and walking in the sunny California air.
"Man I missed nature," He said, turning his attention to Alex again, "you know, the blue skies, the chirping birds," He made a face as he saw something white on a car just a few feet from him, "the chirping birds shitting on everything…"
Alex laughed, shaking her head, she led him over to her car. "Trust me?" She asked him as soon as she had calmed down and pressed the button for her car to unlock.
"Trust you? I barely know you," Ross joked. "You drive?"
"Of course."
"But aren't you sixteen?"
"Yeah and in my world, sixteen year olds get their driver's license when they turn sixteen," She answered, opening the door. "Now get in, before I make you walk." She teased.
"Ah, so funny." Ross stuck his tongue out at her. He then heard a beep and looked up to see Rydel was driving up to them. She rolled down her window and smiled at Alex.
"Hey," She said, waving at her, "how are you?"
"I'm good." Alex smiled back, "he's finally free."
"Thank god." Ross said and then opened the door, getting in the passenger's seat. "Where were you?"
"Oh, um… busy with something." Rydel just smiled at him, he shrugged and then she focused her attention back to Alex. He looked up in time to see Rydel sign something to her, but he couldn't tell what it was. "Alright, well, thank you for watching him, we'll see you around."
Alex nodded, "definitely." She waved and with that, got in her car as Rydel drove forward.
"Wha-" Ross looked behind him and then straight forward, "okay, what the hell was that?"
"Hmm?" Rydel asked, distractedly.
He narrowed his eyes, "you aren't up to something are you?"
"Who? Me? Come on, Ross, what kind of person do you think I am? Like… I wouldn't do that." She trailed off, stopping at a stoplight. She reached forward to turn up the radio and Ross put his hand on top of hers. She looked up at him.
"I'm your brother."
"Yes you are." Rydel confirmed.
"You're my sister."
"That's true."
"We grew up with each other and know each other very well."
"Right on."
"Okay, so what is going on?" Ross threw his hands in the air.
She just grinned, "nothing baby bro. Not a thing."
Yeah, that couldn't have been more cryptic if she wanted it to be, but he just looked at her and then shrugged, deciding it was best to just let it go. He wasn't going to get an answer and trying for one would just be pointless.
Laura had her phone pressed against her ear as she tapped her pen against the table, a list in front of her. Austin was sitting on her lap, looking up at her while she spoke and nodded her head in response to the person on the other end.
"Yes, okay, I'm aware. I know… yes. Rocky I know what I'm doing! Trust me!" She rolled her eyes.
"He can't know anything and I know he's a little suspicious already." Rocky responded.
"How can you possibly know that already?" She asked him.
"Rydel texted me and told me he was asking questions."
"When have you or Rydel been good at keeping things from him ever in your entire life?" Laura asked him and it was silent on the other end.
"You've got a really good point there," Rocky answered and then Laura nodded her head, even though he couldn't see her.
"And… I think I'm the winner," Laura said as she tapped her pen against the table top.
"Yeah, yeah, so you know the plan right?" Rocky asked.
"Yes, We've gone over it many times, do you know the plan?"
"Ha ha, very funny smartass." Rocky responded as Laura giggled, she heard the sound of a door open and then a familiar voice was added into the conversation. "Hey, so, your sister is here," Rocky said and then she heard Vanessa yell a loud 'hi' into the phone.
"Hi, Vanessa." Laura smiled.
"Rydel texted me to tell you they'll be at the apartment soon." Rocky added.
"Okay."
"No sexy fun times." Rocky continued.
"I hope you know I just rolled my eyes."
"Yeah, so did Vanessa. You two really are sisters, wow. So fascinating." Rocky responded sarcastically.
Laura laughed.
"Alright, see you later." Rocky said, "I gotta go you know, have fun with your sister before everyone gets here and-"
"No sexy fun times!" Laura said as loudly as she could before he hung up.
"Yeah, yeah!" He said back and with that, Laura shook her head, hanging up the phone, just as the door opened. She quickly flipped over the paper and then smiled at Ross who walked in, Rydel behind him. Austin jumped off her lap and ran to Ross, excitedly barking and jumping on him. Ross put his bags down and then bent down to pick him up.
"Hey, Austin! I missed ya!" He held him up and Austin licked his nose, causing the girls to laugh. He then put Austin down who quickly ran over to Rydel. As she bent down to pick him up, Ross walked over to Laura and gave her a soft kiss, before grinning at her, "Hey."
She smiled, "hey."
"I think your dog is trying to eat me," Rydel joked. Ross turned around so he could see her and Laura looked up at her.
"Well, clearly he likes you," Ross said, "either that or he's just really hungry."
"Very funny." Rydel said, walking over to the couch, she sat down, holding Austin and petting him. Ross walked over to join her, sitting down as Laura followed as well, sitting on his lap.
He took a moment to look around and smiled, "I'm so happy to be home."
"Yeah?" Laura asked and he looked at her and nodded, "You have no idea."
"How do you feel being home?" Rydel asked him, looking up from Austin.
"Better. Content. Exhilerated." Ross answered after a few moments of thinking about it.
"Well, good." Rydel reached over and messed up his hair causing Laura to giggle. "I'm glad to have you back Yoda." She smiled and he smiled back at her.
"Glad to be back Darth Vader."
"And.. that's my cue to go check my phone." Laura said standing up, though she had a smile on her face.
Ross looked at her confused, especially when Rydel smiled back and winked at her.
"Your phone didn't go off."
"Yes it did." Laura answered as she walked to the table to get it.
"But I didn't hear anything."
"It's on silent." Laura responded back distractedly as she flipped it open.
"Then how did you hear it?" He asked her.
"Enough with the questions!" Rydel laughed putting her hand on Ross' knee.
"It was Ratliff," Laura looked up, "he wants to know when you'll be back."
"Then, couldn't he have texted Rydel?"
"Again with the questions?" Rydel gave him a look.
"I feel like you both, no wait, I feel like you all are up to something." Ross said.
"He said he texted you, but you didn't answer." Laura shrugged and then went to sit back down on Ross' lap. She flipped her phone closed before he could see anything.
"Wait." Ross said and the girls looked at him, he looked at Laura, "I thought you weren't feeling well."
Rydel closed her eyes, mentally face palming herself, knowing it was her mother who had said it.
"It was no big deal," Laura waved off his concern. "I'm much better now. That was hours ago."
Good save, Rydel thought.
"You sure?" He asked and she nodded, smiling.
"I'm positive."
He nodded and then Rydel took that as her moment to stand.
"Well, I must be going… you know, Ratliff wants me to um… mow the lawn with him. Yeah." Rydel gave them the thumbs up and then Ross turned to her, facing her as she was about a foot from the door.
"Mow the lawn, what?" Ross said, "that sounds like total BS."
"Call it what you want, I gotta go. Bye!" With that, Rydel quickly walked out of the room, the door slamming softly behind her.
Ross turned his attention back to Laura. "Can I borrow your phone?"
"Why?"
"Mine's in my bag and I don't feel like getting it."
Laura shook her head, "nope." She held it above her head as he tried to reach for it, falling on her back with him on top of her. She giggled and then to distract him, pressed her lips against his. "you know…" She said, lowering her arm so that it was hanging on the side of the couch. "We can do whatever we want now. You're not at the hospital anymore, nurses aren't trying to come in every ten minutes…" She bit her lip, smiling and then kissed him again.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Ross asked her.
"I hope so…" She trailed off again, kissing him and he just grinned.
"We can play UNO!" He sat up, his fist in the air as she leaned on her elbows, giving him a look.
"Are you serious?"
"No, I'm Ross." He answered back, grinning at her. He leaned in closer, "you're thinking of a different kind of UNO by the way."
"What kind of UNO are you thinking of?" She asked him.
"You know, the kind a boyfriend and a girlfriend play together…" He trailed off, his fingers bouncing on the skin of her arm. "When one of them has to draw more than one card, or really any card and get skipped, then… they lose an article of clothing." He said and then Laura's eyes flashed with realization, she nodded slowly and he just smiled at her.
"Strip UNO." Laura said and Ross nodded.
"Kinda yeah."
She then smiled and sat up enough so that she could push him off of her.
"Then bring it on…" She stuck her tongue out at him and he responded the same way.
"It's on."
"What the hell is taking them so damn long?" Rocky asked, running his fingers through his hair as he looked at his phone to see he hadn't gotten a message from either Ross or Laura.
"Well, it is Ross and Laura," Ratliff answered, looking at Vanessa who nodded in agreement.
"He's got a good point, they could take forever."
"Augh!" Rocky said and Vanessa laughed, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Relax, okay? They'll be here soon." She gave him a soft kiss and then followed Ratliff to the kitchen to help continue setting up.
The door opened and Rocky looked up in time to see Rydel walk in.
"Well, there you are!" He said, quickly walking over to her. "Where are Ross and Laura?"
"Um, probably having sex." She answered, nonchalantly, seeing Ratliff she went over to him and hugged him.
"Wait, why-" Rocky started but Vanessa came back in and took his hand. She pulled him with her to the other room. "What-"
"You need to relax, babe okay?" She put her hands on his shoulders and looked at him. "You're stressing over nothing."
"I am not," He said lamely, she gave him a look, "okay, maybe a little bit yeah." She gave him another look, "damn woman! Fine, I'm stressing a lot there, you happy?"
She smiled, "very."
"Shit, you are tough."
Vanessa just smiled at him. "Would you just relax? They'll be here… on Laura and Ross time."
"Did you just make that up?" Rocky asked, raising his eyebrows.
"I totally did, yes."
"That has to be the best thing I've ever heard." He commented, "they really do work on Laura and Ross time, not like normal time." His eyes lit up, "dude, we should totally shorten it, you know? Change it to Raura time."
Vanessa laughed, cupping his face in her hands, she pulled him towards her, kissing him.
"You are seriously one of a kind, Rocky Lynch."
"Thanks." He answered adorably, "but seriously, Raura time."
She nodded, "fine, Raura time."
"We need a couple name."
She laughed again and then he stepped closer, pressing his lips against hers.
"Thanks." He mumbled.
"For what?"
"Calming me down."
She smiled, "anytime," and then she pressed her lips against his again.
"Wow." Laura said, looking up at Ross who was staring down at her.
"Yeah, wow." He said back, playfully sticking his tongue out.
"You… wow. You actually won that game. Normally unless I'm with you, you lose."
"Well, I was against you, so… the power was times a million I guess." Ross shrugged, moving to lay down by her side, causing the bed to bounce.
"Must you be bouncy?" Laura teased, turning so she could face him.
"Uh yeah." Ross answered back, "Being bouncy is so much fun." He nudged her and she rolled her eyes. He just leaned in and kissed her, his hand sliding to rest on her bare back, when she suddenly pulled away, biting her lip. "Really?" He whined, pouting.
"Yes, we um… you should get dressed, I totally forgot I made plans with your mother to have dinner over at her house." Laura said, quickly getting out of the bed. Ross groaned, throwing his arm over his eyes, he just let out a sigh.
"I don't want to go to dinner at my mom's house." He said back.
"Why not?" Laura asked, "it's your mother, you love her cooking."
"Yeah, but every time we go to dinner, something dramatic always happens." Ross answered.
He had a point there, but she had to convince him to go somehow. She was pretty sure her phone was blown up with messages and calls from Rocky, Rydel, Ratliff, Riker, Maia, Vanessa and everyone else.
She smirked as an idea came to her, "you come to dinner with your mother and I'll give you something when we come back."
"Is it you?" He asked, "cause that'd be pretty fucking awesome."
"You already know you have me." She answered back, smiling at him and he smiled back. She felt her heart skip.
"I know." He was still smiling.
She got back on the bed, her body hovering above his as she gently pushed him down. Her head was an inch from his as she looked down at him, her hair covering them. She smiled.
"You can still have me, but first, we have to go to your mom's for dinner okay?"
"Okay." He smiled and then leaned in closer, her doing the same until she smirked and shook her head, quickly moving away. "Seriously?"
She just giggled and went into the bathroom.
"You are such a tease!" He muttered loudly enough she could still hear him.
"I know!" She called back and then Ross just let out another groan.
As soon as they pulled up to his mom's house, Laura turned to Ross. She had a blindfold in her hand.
"Okay, I'm officially even more suspicious than I was a few seconds ago." He paused, "though it is kinda hot that you have a blindfold in your hand."
"Okay, focus Captain Hormones," Laura rolled her eyes, "put this on and come with me."
"You're not gonna like, put me in a hole for me to die in are you?"
"Would I do that?"
"I know Rocky would."
"Rocky wouldn't."
"Nah, he wouldn't."
"Stop arguing with me and put the damn blindfold on, would you?" Laura held it up, motioning for him to turn around. She smiled sweetly. "Pretty please?"
"Okay, but only because you asked so nicely." Ross answered.
Wow, that took a lot of effort, Laura thought.
She put the blindfold on and then got out of the car, going to the other side, she opened the door and then helped him out of it. Then they both walked up the pathway to the front door. Laura opened it and then she let go of him, Rocky and Ratliff taking over from that point on.
"I still don't understand why I have this blindfold on," Ross said.
"You've been asking me that for the past minute," Laura responded.
"Why's it a secret?"
"It's not," Laura answered, "you'll see soon."
He shrugged, "okay." He mumbled.
"Okay, take off his blindfold," He heard Laura say.
"Wait who are you-"
"SURPRISE!"
"Holy shit!" He said and then smiled big, "you guys planned a surprise party for me?"
Laura nodded, "yup."
"But why? It's not my birthday…or yours, but that wouldn't make sense because then wouldn't the surprise party be for you?" Ross asked, trying to understand what happened. Laura just shook her head and laughed.
Rocky patted his shoulder, "dude, you're going to give yourself a brain cramp if you try to figure this out." That only made Laura laugh harder and Ross glare at him.
"So then what's it for?" He asked.
"For you and all the progress you've made in the past few weeks," Laura told him, smiling. "This is our way of showing you how proud we are of you."
Rydel nodded, "it's true." She walked up to him and gave him a big hug, her arms tightening around his shoulders. "I'm so proud of you," She whispered and he could hear the emotion in her voice.
"Thanks." He whispered back and then hugged her tightly.
She pulled back and then wiped underneath her eye so that she wouldn't ruin her make-up.
Then, Ross was greeted with the rest of his family and Raini and Calum and Maia. He smiled as he looked around and caught Laura's eye.
She smiled back at him and he from that moment, all he could feel was happiness.
"I can't believe you guys actually did this for me," Ross said as he looked down at his red cup full of soda. He looked up at his close friends and family. "Really, I… don't know what to say."
"Say, thanks." Laura teased, kissing his cheek.
"Thanks," He responded and she laughed.
"Dude, no need to thank us. What you're going through, we can't imagine," Ratliff told him. "Having a disorder like that has to be difficult to live with and yeah, there are going to be times when you're scared and freaked out and it's going to mess with you, but like you already know, you've got a strong support system behind you. We've got your back always."
"Except when we're in front of you, then you know, you fall backwards and we gotta pull a fucking Superman move to get behind you and that's gonna be kinda hard." Calum joked and everyone laughed.
"We've all got demons," Rydel said softly, looking at Ross over the bonfire. "No matter what they are, we've all got them."
"She's right." Maia spoke up, "we are all in our own insane, silly way, fucked up."
That caused a everyone to laugh.
"Just when you feel alone again, come to us. Don't be afraid." Riker said and he nodded.
He thought about what Rocky told him about the night he'd had his episode. He saw the fear in Rocky's eyes as he told him the story. It made his heartbreak and he wasn't even aware of the look on his face when it had actually happened.
Looking to his left, he saw the guitar that Rocky, himself or Riker kept in case they wanted to play while they were just hanging out in the backyard. Unless it was raining, it was always there. Biting his lip, he picked it up, handing Calum his drink.
"He's gonna play a song." Rydel smiled.
Then, before anyone could say anything else, Ross started to strum a familiar song. Rydel eyes lit up.
It was one of her favorites.
"When the days are cold and the cards all fold and the saints we see are all made of gold. When your dreams all fail and the ones we hail are the worst of all and the blood's run stall.." Ross began to sing and then Rydel began to sing the next line with him.
Pretty soon, everyone else was singing the song and then when Ross strummed the last note, everyone was silent. No one said a word. Ratliff took Rydel's hand in his and held it as Laura lay her head on Ross' shoulder, Vanessa doing the same with Rocky.
"That was beautiful." They all heard and Ross turned his head to see Stormie standing behind him. She walked around him and stood in the middle of the circle, a few feet away from the fire. Ross looked closer and noticed his mother had tears in her eyes and that some had even fallen down her cheek.
"Mom-" He began but Stormie shook her head, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"I want to tell you something, you and your sister," She said and he nodded. Rydel nodded as well, sharing a look with Ratliff. "I'm so sorry."
"Sorry? Sorry for what?" Ross asked her.
"For everything, for not believing you when you told me about your father, for not handling things the way I should have with him, for not kicking him out sooner, I just… I wanted to hold on to what we had, but trust me, I know now that it's gone." She took a deep breath, "I just saw it with you and Laura, and Rydel and Ratliff and I don't know, a part of me just really wanted it again."
Rydel sniffled and stood up, she looked at Ratliff and nodded, before getting up and walking toward her mother. She put her hand on her shoulder and turned her towards her, then she hugged her. Her chin going onto her shoulder, she hugged her tight and then tears slipped from her eyes.
"I'm so sorry," Stormie whispered.
"No, no, mamma." Rydel whispered, she sniffled again, "don't be sorry. You're the best mamma ever."
"Yeah, best mom ever!" Rocky called out and Rydel and Stormie laughed. Rocky stood up and hugged her, then Ryland, then Riker and then Ross. Everyone else smiled at each other, shrugged and then got up, hugging her as well.
"Isn't it awesome?" Rocky asked, and everyone looked at him. "Just how much we care about each other, how we have each other's back, how I'm going to steal Ross' cupcake in a few minutes," He casually added. Everyone laughed. "I just like that we've got each other's backs."
"And cupcakes, apparently." Ratliff added.
"Why are you talking about cupcakes?" Maia asked, shaking her head.
"I just really want one." Rocky said.
"Okay…" Ross gave him a look and then turned to his mother, "you're the best, really. None of what happened is your fault, whether or not you stopped it, should have kicked him out sooner, whatever."
"That song you guys all just sang, it was true. We all have demons inside of us."
"And we all can help each other out with them," Ross said, he made eye contact with Laura. "We just gotta speak up and make it happen."
Rocky had walked off toward the speaker by where he was sitting, so while he did that, Rydel gave her mother another hug.
"Yeah," Riker added, "we'll all be okay. Beat up a bit, but okay."
"Hey, you guys!" Rocky called and everyone looked at him. "I'm calling out Rydel, Ross, Ratliff and Riker."
"Uh-oh," Raini said, stepping back, "this is gonna be intense."
"Or interesting," Maia added.
"Or scary." Laura added as well.
"Or it could be fun." Calum shrugged.
"Nah, you'll like this, trust me," Ryland smiled.
Rocky pressed play and the song started.
"A Disney song," Laura threw her hand up, though she was smiling, "of course."
"Oh my god! I haven't heard this song in ages!" Rydel exclaimed and then pulled Ratliff with her, they went a few feet away from where Rocky was sitting with Vanessa and used the huge empty space that was there. Once they were all in their spots, Rydel looked up at them, "ready?" She asked.
They nodded.
And then the chorus came and they all started to dance, though Ross had been left behind. He just shook his head and watched them.
"Come on, Ross!" Rydel said, motioning for him to join them.
"No, it's cool. You do your thing." He said.
Rydel shook her head and then pulled him just as the chorus started again and then they both started to dance along side each other with the other three behind them.
"You gotta stand out, lil bro!" Rocky said to him and then he bumped his ass into him. Ross glared at him and then jumped on his back as everyone else clapped their hands and danced. Even their friends and girlfriends joined in at the last chorus.
"Stand out! Above the crowd, even if I gotta shout out loud!" They all sang and then Rydel turned to Ratliff, "Til mine is the only face you'll see, Gonna stand out, staaand out, till you notice me!" And then the song finished. They all clapped and hugged each other, Rydel giggling as Ratliff squeezed her tight.
"We are the most talented bunch of friends," Ross commented and then he went over to Laura, picking her up, he spun her around while she laughed and told him to put her down. But he just shook his head and put his forehead against hers. "You still love me though."
"I guess…" She teased and then he tickled her causing her to move away. He ran after her and then they were standing by the pool. She pouted.
"What?" He asked.
"I wish I wasn't pregnant."
"Why?"
"So I can push you inside the pool, but I don't want to be accidentally pulled in with you so… I won't." She shrugged and then he got an idea.
"Hold that thought." He said and then ran over to Ratliff, he whispered something in his ear and then Ratliff nodded, looking at Rydel, who was in a conversation with Maia and Raini. "Just sneak up on her," He told him and he nodded again, giving him the thumbs up.
"Tarzan, yeahhh!" Rocky cheered and then danced right beside Vanessa, who was laughing.
Ross then went back to Laura and took her hand, taking her with him to where everyone else was.
"Can I have this dance?" He asked her, holding his hand out and she nodded, putting her hand in his.
"Like catching lightening," She said, smiling when his eyes lit up. "the chances of finding someone like you."
"It's one in a million, the chances of feeling the way we do." He decided to sing back and then she sang with him.
"And with every step together, we just keep on getting better, so can I have this dance?" They sang together.
"They are singing a totally different song," Rocky commented to Vanessa, who just rolled her eyes and smacked his stomach.
"Awesome." Ross said pulling her close and resting his chin on hers. He looked up at the starry sky, "just fucking awesome."
Laura smiled.
Then, they heard a loud squeal and Ross turned his head to see Ratliff had picked up Rydel.
"Put me down!" Rydel laughed and Ratliff shook his head.
"Not gonna happen." They got closer to the pool and Rydel's eyes widened.
"You throw me in there, I won't have sex with you for a week!" She threatened and he just looked at her, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah okay, that was horrible threat, but don't throw me in there!"
"Wait," Rocky spoke up, Riker nodding behind him as they both walked over to him. He had an amused look on his face as he held a finger in between Ratliff and Rydel, "you two bumped uglies?"
"Oh my god!" Maia squealed.
"Oh great, why did I say that?" Rydel groaned and then Ratliff held her tighter, stepping closer to the pool.
"Dude! You totally invaded my sister, if you know what I'm saying." Riker said and Ratliff rolled his eyes, trying not to turn pink.
"Aw, Rydel is officially a woman!" Rocky fake cried.
"I really wish I didn't say that now." Rydel sighed and then looked at the water, then at Ratliff. She leaned in and whispered in his ear, "please take us out of this embarrassing moment?"
"You mean…"
"Yeah, yeah, if it helps us get out of this, I'll do whatever I have to."
He grinned, "okay! And then while Riker was talking to him, he jumped into the water, Rydel held tight against him.
"Just because you jumped in the water, doesn't mean the conversation is over!" Riker called out as Stormie walked up to them.
"Don't be overprotective, this has been a long time coming," She said and then smiled at her oldest son.
They came out of the water, spitting out water and then Rydel giggled, her head falling back in the water, she stared up at the sky while Ratliff held her.
"Why are we just standing here?" Rocky asked and then he jumped into the pool.
"You going in?" Laura asked Vanessa.
"Nah, but I should probably fish him out of there." Vanessa said and then walked over to edge of the pool. She held her hand out towards Rocky and but he just grinned and pulled her in with him.
"So much for not going in!" Laura called to her.
Ross got an idea, "come with me." He whispered to her and she nodded. He took her hand in his and with that, they both snuck into the house.
He opened the door to his old room (which was really now Ryland's room only since he moved out and all) and then closed it. He noticed that his old bed was still there and smiled as he saw a few other things that Ryland apparently didn't get rid of.
"Wow." Laura said as she stepped further into the room. "So many memories happened in here."
"Yeah," Ross agreed. Though he knew the most obvious one was flashing through both their minds.
She turned to him, "why did you take me here?"
He reached her for her hand and she took it, stepping closer to him as he pulled her towards him. He shrugged, "I don't know, I just wanted some peace and quiet for a couple of minutes."
He looked down at the promise ring he gave her and then a thought he hadn't thought about in a while came to him.
"That's fair," Laura said and then reached up to kiss his cheek.
"Really? You kissed me on the cheek? That's all I get?" He huffed, and she laughed.
He walked over to his bed and she walked with him, sitting down on his lap. She lay her head on his shoulder and played with his fingers on his hand.
"I'm proud of you, you know." She told him, lifting her head to look at him.
"Why?"
"Because, you messed up and now you're making it right."
Right, not taking his medication for two weeks, that was what she was talking about.
"I learned a lot being in that hospital. I know what I have to do now and I'm going to do everything I can to prevent it from happening again." He leaned his forehead against hers.
"I know you will," Laura whispered back, her hand on his cheek, she smiled and closed her eyes.
Ross suddenly fell back and she fell on top of him. Her hair was messed up since she hadn't been expecting it and when she lifted her head to look at him, he just smiled at her.
"Hey there, Lorax."
She stuck her tongue out and then moved her body so that she was situated on top of him better.
"You should stick that tongue in other places," Ross told her and she felt her heart skip at his words. He didn't say anything else and she just stared at him, breathing slightly labored for a few seconds while he just stared back at her. She wondered why he wasn't making the first move. She really, really wanted him to, but he wasn't. His hand reached forward and went into her hair. By then her eyes had closed and she was close enough to him, he could feel her breath on his lips.
Then he slightly pulled on a strand and shifted beneath her. She knew what he wanted then and opened her eyes.
He was close, so close and then, before since she really couldn't hold out any longer, she pressed her lips against his, capturing them in an intense and meaningful kiss as he just kissed her back just as deeply and just as passionate. She felt his tongue slide against hers and then moaned, her arms going around his neck, she pulled him close, as close as they could possibly get and then after a few moments, she felt the need to breathe, so she broke away from him.
"Would it be wrong to have sex in Ryland's room?" She asked him, breathlessly.
"Ask me after it's over if I care," He responded and then deeply kissed her again.
"But he could walk in." She reminded him. He paused and they both listened for a few moments, only to realize they were fine as everyone was in the pool, splashing, laughing and singing along to Austin and Ally songs of all things. They both wondered if they even noticed the actors that portrayed the characters that they were all singing along to and gone missing.
"Here's the thing," Ross said as his hands went underneath her shirt and cupped her chest. "I've been in that hospital for a while and not once did we have sex, like at all." She closed her eyes and nodded as he squeezed her. "I really, really want you and I know you want me to, but, also another thing, I already told Ratliff my plan and he's in on it and making sure Ryland and especially Rocky and Vanessa stay far, far away."
She opened her eyes, "is that what you were whispering to him earlier?"
He nodded, "that and to surprise Rydel by throwing her into the pool, but enough about that since it happened already."
"Okay."
"Also, I locked the door and as we already know from past experiences, if we just do it on my bed and not his, it should be fine." Ross said and then looked at her. She saw the lust and the love in his eyes and it just made her want him even more.
"What are you waiting for then?"
He tilted his head and she leaned in, slightly panting against his lips, "kiss me," She whispered and then he kissed her so hard and so deep, she moaned loudly into his mouth and then her hands were on his jeans and his were on her shirt and before they knew it they were both naked and for the first time in what felt like forever, one again in the same place it all started for them.
"Hey, we've been singing Austin and Ally songs for the past half hour, and I just have one question," Rocky said as everyone dried up around them, Stormie having given them all towels a few minutes earlier. "Where the hell are 'Austin and Ally'?" He used finger quotes around the names and then everyone looked around, realizing he had a point.
Everyone except Ratliff.
"You know something don't you?" Rydel accused him and he just smiled.
"Let's just say they're off somewhere, reliving the past." He answered her.
"So, to put it bluntly, they're having sex in his old room," Calum said and everyone looked shocked that it had come out of his mouth. "What? Not like I don't know what Ross is up to these days, shit, man."
"Wait, in my room?" Ryland asked.
"In his old bed," Rocky confirmed, "well, we hope."
"Like Ross would have sex on your bed," Riker scoffed. "He never did then and I'm sure he wouldn't now."
"Yeah, good thing too, since I left his bed in that room." Ryland added.
"Okay, see? Nothing to worry about!" Rocky smiled and clapped his hands together.
"And we, mister, are going to stay right out here," Vanessa said, taking his hand in hers. "No need to interrupt them… for the millionth time."
"Okay, good since you all know what is going on…" Ratliff took Rydel's hand in his, "we have somewhere we need to be."
Calum scoffed, "does it involve a bed and you two?" Everyone gave him another look, and he threw his hands up, "okay, again, really?"
"Hey, we never did finish-" Riker began to say.
"Bye!" Rydel said and then pulled Ratliff with her into the house.
"And they're gone." Riker sighed.
"Don't worry, you still got us," Maia said and did a double take, only to see that Rocky and Vanessa were slowly walking away. "Like I said, you still got the five of us."
"I'm doomed," Riker joked.
"Come on, Riker, I want to own your ass in some GTA," Calum told him, and Ryland nodded excitedly.
"And I just want to watch you own Calum's ass in GTA," Raini added.
"And I'm just going to casually sip a soda while I watch you both attempt to own each other's asses in GTA.. whatever the hell that is," Maia blinked her eyes.
"Don't you have a brother?" Calum asked her.
"Yes, but even I'm not sure he knows what GTA is." Maia answered.
"You know, for famous people, you guys are very normal, I like it," Alex said and Maia reached over to put an arm around her.
"Stick with us and you'll see just how normal we really are," Maia told her.
"I would love to." Alex smiled at her and she smiled back. She made a face, "though are the six of them having sex in the house with everyone here.. is that normal?"
"As normal as we hate to admit," Riker sighed. "Except that Ross and Laura are normally at their apartment, I assume, Rydel and Ratliff are usually at his house, though this is the first I've been told of this, since they're always gone, it makes sense and as for Rocky and Vanessa… they just literally started a relationship, so they're probably just watching a movie or something." He shrugged.
"Okay, enough about our siblings' sex life!" Ryland said brightly, "since Riker and I can't change and neither can anyone else, let's just go to the living room and start playing some GTA."
"Okay, but seriously, what the hell is GTA?" Maia asked as they all started to walk towards the house. Her question went unanswered as everyone just laughed at her.
"I love being the only girl and having my own room," Rydel sighed happily, her arms wrapped around Ratliff's neck as he just held himself above her and looked at her.
"How strange is it that I'm the only one not related in the band and you're the only girl and yet… we're together?"
She thought about it, "wow, I never noticed that."
He smiled and kissed her, "sometimes the fact that we're all so close, gets kinda creepy."
"Why do you say that?"
"Because we're having sex just down the hall from where Ross and Laura are." Ratliff told her and she shrugged.
"Doesn't bother me." She smiled and kissed him and he smiled against her lips.
"Me neither," He said and then kissed her deeply.
"Though, you do have a point," Rydel said, pulling away from him. "It is kinda creepy and weird."
He laughed, "I love you, you know."
"Do I?" She teased and tilted her head, kissing him and sighing happily against his lips. "Let's just cuddle or something." Rydel suggested and he agreed, laying down beside her, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close, his chin resting on her shoulder. "I love you, Ellington." She whispered and he hugged her tighter.
"I never stopped." He said and she looked at him surprised. "I know I had a girlfriend and all when we met, but… you once said you had a crush on me and I'm going to admit that I had one on you too."
"Really?"
He nodded, "but for obvious reasons, I couldn't say anything so let's just say I've been in love with you for as long as I can remember."
She blushed and smiled, "I felt the same-I mean, I feel the same way. I've been in love with you for a lot longer than just the last few months."
"Well, now we have each other, right?" He asked her and she nodded.
"I'm never letting you go."
"Good, I don't want you to."
She kissed him, "if you don't either, then it's a deal."
Rocky felt his phone vibrating in his pocket and picked it up to see that it was Ross. He rubbed his eyes, tiredly and looked at the clock.
Eight in the morning. What could Ross possibly want this early? After the night before, when they all said goodbye to each other after Ross and Laura finally forced themselves out of Ryland's room and after Ross had thanked everyone for the surprise party, it had been two in the morning. Vanessa had left soon after that and he'd been awake for another hour. It stopped ringing and then started up again.
"Someone better be dying," Rocky answered.
"No, nothing that extreme." Ross said and then Rocky noticed he was whispering.
"Why are you whispering?"
"Because I'm still in the apartment and Laura is sleeping." Ross responded.
"Okay."
"I called you for a reason though."
"I'm so excited, I can't wait to hear it," Rocky yawned.
"Oh you'll want to hear this." Ross said to him and he just muttered out an answer. "I need your help with something, you, Ratliff, Riker, Ryland, Calum and Rydel. Maybe Maia, but I kinda want to keep it a secret for a while. Though she's pretty good at it, so I'll need her help too and definitely Alex. Am I leaving anyone out?"
"Dude, you're rambling and sounding like you're gonna plan this huge surprise for Laura, like a proposal or something." Rocky yawned again. It was silent and then suddenly Rocky was wide awake. He sat up in his bed, "wait-"
"Yeah, you guessed it," Ross answered, "I want to propose to Laura."
What?
Anyway, I just want to say that I'm sorry I havent updated in like a month. I had such bad writer's block and also I have grade twelve activities going on at school and I GOT INTO NYU! If you follow me on twitter, than you already know, but I'm so fucking excited and I can't wait. It was my first choice for university and I'm just so excited.
I hope you enjoyed this, I'll be updating the others soon. I hope. Haha, this hopefully won't take so long again, but there's a reason why Ross called Rocky and not anyone else... if you remember I said Rocky will be getting into trouble, but a funny kind of trouble so... let's see how all this goes for him.
Also, I got the idea for Laura blindfolding Ross before the surprise party because I saw a video on youtube when R5 left the awards show and Riker and Rocky bindfolded Ratliff while Ross was videotaping it. Then they were like "he's twenty one!" and everyone cheered and I just thought that was so amazing. Rydel though was missing... hmm.
Let me know what you think! I wanted to make it drama free, so I hope I accomplished that goal.
Much love! xxx
