Flinky: Here we are with another chapter. I would like to thank Flashyhero for his review with some good advice.

Red: He's pretty cool.

Flinky: Not much else to be said, so enjoy!

Tonight, instead of hearing some vague words from a blurry figure, I dreamt of a huge Pokémon. It was white with a golden ring around the center. It looked incredibly powerful. It looked familiar, but I can't- IT'S ARCEUS!

"Red Ketchum."

I winced. I hate it when someone says my last name because it reminds me of my parents.

"Yes?" I called out.

"I am Arceus, creator of the universe. I am here to explain your duty."

"My what?"

"Your duty. I have created you to fix the issue of Team Rocket. Have you ever wondered why you are so much unlike your parents?"

When I thought about it, he was right. I am completely different to them, from my looks to my personality. But doesn't that mean I was just made?

"I made you directly. I took the baby that your parents were going to have and used it as a shell to create you."

"But what does that make me?"

"A number of things-"

A feminine voice said, "So your finally telling him the big deal about himself. I wish I brought popcorn." It was Omni.

"My life is not for the entertainment of others, and can someone please explain why every legendary has no attention span?"

"Actually, it's only Mew who has a problem. And you have no idea how hypocritical you are being. Now, I would like to continue this conversation alone."

Arceus' ring glowed, causing Omni to become transparent. Eventually, she was gone.

"I apologize for Mew's, or as you call her, Omni's intrusion."

"This is the strangest day of my life."

"Now, there is one more thing you must know. This isn't how it was supposed to happen."

"What do you mean?"

"If the timeline was accurate, then Team Rocket should have been defeated by Red. For some reason, that didn't happen. Now, I have made an enhanced version of Red, which is you. You are, in essence, a remake."

"So my purpose is to take down Team Rocket like Red should have done. Anything else I should know?"

"There are others like you. Look for Ethan, Sapphire, and Ruby."

"One last question. Are you the thing that's been reaching out to me in my dreams?"

"I do not believe so. As a matter of fact, I am the only one permitted to enter your dreams. I will ask Cresselia and Darkrai about this."

After that, my dream ended and I woke up. Was it even real?

Omni, obviously reading my thoughts, said, "It was real."

Great. Checking my Pokégear, it was 6:05, so the others should be waking up soon. I started packing my bags. Today, we will start our hike to Cerulean City. After a while, Leaf, Michael, and Blue (who's back to normal) got up. We checked out of the center and hit the road.

"So, anything interesting?" I asked out of boredom.

"Not really."

"Mt. Moon is coming up."

"Anything else?"

"Nope."

"Well then, I have an idea."

"What?"

"Omni normally wants to play, and I don't think we will have another chance."

"Really, you just want to play with your Pokémon? Pathetic."

"Fine."

I waited for a while before deciding on an idea to get Blue.

'Omni, if you can hear me, I want you to turn me into an Entei again when I break off from the group.'

"Okay!"

"Hey guys, I need to use the bathroom. You go on and I'll catch up."

"Okay."

I went off to behind some trees.

"Omni, go!"

She went up and did the same thing she did when we first played. When it was over, I was an Entei again. I kept my hat on this time so the others will recognize me.

I gave Omni a mischievous look, and ran up to the group. To get their attention, I used Fire Blast above them.

"What the hell?"

Blue turned around first, followed by Leaf, then Michael.

Omni said, "Still think my games are pathetic?"

Blue shook his head. I would love to have asked him myself but currently, I could only talk in Pokéspeech.

Omni flew up to the others and activated the same glow as before. When it subsided, Blue was a Suicune, Michael was a Raikou, and Leaf was a Celebi.

"So, what do you think now?" I asked.

"This. Is. Awesome!" Michael yelled.

Leaf looked nasious.

"I feel dizzy..."

"That's because you're a Celebi. You can not only move in every direction, you can also move through time similarly."

"Wait, if there are legendaries who can move through time, why not go back and stop Team Rocket when they were weaker?"

"We've tried that. Somehow, there is a barrier that is causing us, even Dialga, to not be able to go back to that time period."

"Great. Anyways, we still have to make it to Mt. Moon. Race you there!"

I took off, followed by Omni, with Blue behind her, and Michael competing with Leaf. Since I already had experience as an Entei, I was quicker while Suicune is naturally faster than the other beasts.

I was the second one there, being beaten by Omni. Leaf teleported in, now having some control over time traveling, while Blue came running in. Michael was last but still had a lot of fun. Omni turned us back and I recalled her to her ball.

"So this is Mt. Moon?"

"Yep."

"Is everyone ready?"

"Yep," everyone said in unison.

We started in. There wasn't much to be said about it. A couple wild Pokémon appeared, but I didn't catch any. That is, up until a Pikachu.

He looked injured and beaten up. He was crying. Either he was carried by a flying-type and wandered into the cave or was abandoned by a trainer, likely a rocket.

"Hey little guy."

The Pikachu looked up at me, and then went back to crying.

"Omni, I'm going to need your help with this one. He looks like he had a bad trainer."

Omni came out of her ball and talked to him. I couldn't understand what they were saying because I don't understand Pokémon, but he looked better. When Omni was finished, she told me about Pikachu.

"He was experimented on by Team Rocket. When he didn't meet their expectations, they gave him to a grunt, who treated him like this."

"Wow, that's sad."

I took out a Hyper Potion and sprayed it on him. He looked better in no time. When I got up, he climbed onto my shoulder.

"Do you wanna come with me?" I asked. I didn't think that a Pokémon who was abused so much would trust a trainer so quickly.

"Pika pi," he said, nodding his head.

"Okay then. Would you mind if I battled you first?"

He shook his head as he climbed off my shoulder and got into a battle stance.

"Okay, Glow, I choose you!"

Glow appeared and got ready for a fight.

"Start off with String Shot!"

Glow landed the hit successfully, slowing Pikachu down.

"And now, Tackle!"

Before Glow could move, Pikachu jumped out of the way with blinding speed. Even with String Shot in effect, it was faster than an Extremespeed!

"PIKAAAA... CHUUUU!"

He used Thunderbolt, which looked stronger than a Raichu's Thunder!

"Glow, you have to dodge!"

Unfortunately, that didn't happen and Glow was nailed. She was obviously hurting. A nearly untrained Pikachu with this much power was shocking (Bad pun is bad)!

"Okay, try for Tackle 45 degrees to your right."

Pikachu dodged as I expected, although he didn't think that Glow would change directions. She hit him right where he was running and knocked him out on one hit. That explains why Team Rocket thought he was weak. He is fast and strong, but has bad defense, and very likely, special defense.

"Go, Pokéball!"

I threw the ball and it wobbled once...twice...three times...click!

"I caught...a Pikachu!"

I sent him out.

"Pi pika chu."

"I nickname all of my Pokémon, so do you have any preferences?"

Pikachu shook his head.

"Okay then. How about... Spark?"

He nodded.

"Okay then. From now on out, your name is Spark. Welcome to the team!"

I called him back and continued through the cave. Since Team Rocket abandoned him, the grunts have to be around here. I told this to the rest of the group who agreed that we need to see what's going on. After an hour of searching, we found a grunt looking for something.

I drew my pistol and slowly approached him. He didn't notice me until my gun was right behind him.

"Drop your Pokéballs," I said, with a threatening tone.

He did so, afraid of getting shot. I threw them to Leaf, who set them to the side.

"Now, what are you doing here?"

"M-my boss told u-us to l-l-look for moonstones."

"How many of you are there?"

"T-t-ten."

"And who's your boss?"

"L-L-Lyra."

A former member of Poké Underground. Who knew?

"Leaf, how strong is Lyra?"

"She is almost as strong as Gold."

"Okay." I turned back to the grunt. "I'm going to take any communication devices on you. If you try to tell anyone, I will not hesitate to kill you."

That was a bluff, as the guns can only knock someone out.

"O-okay."

I took out an earpiece and left him there. We kept on through the cave until we heard some voices. Everyone hid behind different rocks waiting to see who they are.

"Hey, is there anything this way?"

"I don't know, but Lyra wants us to keep looking."

Yep, they're grunts. I jumped out with Glow's Pokéball ready.

"Hey, an intruder!"

They sent out a Rattata and a Zubat.

"Really? You're trying to beat the leader of Poké Underground with a Rattata and Zubat? Unless the Rattata has F.E.A.R., in which case I applaud your strategy."

They gave me confused glances.

"Whatever. Glow, I choose you!"

I sent her out to fight.

"Zubat, Leech Life!"

"Rattata, Tackle!"

"Dodge, then show the Rattata a real tackle!"

She did that successfully, injuring Rattata.

"Grr... Annoying kid. Quick Attack!"

Given a Caterpie's speed, there was no hope of dodging.

"Take it, then String Shot in front of you! Make a shield!"

Glow formed a square of string and bit on it.

"That won't help. Zubat, Astonish!"

She ran it but bounced off the shield.

"Tackle the Rattata to finish it!"

Glow knocked out the Rattata, leaving the Zubat.

"Tackle!"

She tried to charge but couldn't hit the aerial target.

"Hah! You can't win this fight."

"I wouldn't be too sure. Drop the shield and use string shot on it."

Glow looked at me confused, but obeyed.

"Now, use Tackle to run in a circle!"

She started running, dragging the shield with her. Eventually, she sped up to the point of the shield flying off the ground.

"Now, stop and disconnect the String Shot!"

Finally understanding what I had in mind, she stopped in front of the Zubat while disconnecting the shield from the string launching it at flying-type. It hit him and stuck string on his wings, forcing him to come down.

"Now, Tackle while it's down!"

Caterpie hit it, knocking it out.

"Gah! Annoying little kid."

"If I had a nickel for every time someone said that about me."

While I was "talking" with the grunts, Glow started glowing.

"Woah! Glow, you're evolving!"

When she was done, there was a Metapod on ground. My Pokédex was buzzing, so I took it out.

"Metapod learned a new move: Harden."

Don't really care, because I prefer fast Pokémon over strong ones.

"Good work Glow, now, return. Now, we better find Lyra."

While we were walking, Leaf ran up to me.

"Look, Red. I know that you're undefeated but Lyra will be tough. I'm not sure you should battle her."

"And what's the alternative?"

"I don't know, but you may not win this one."

"Look, if you can find another alternative to beating her in a battle, then I'm all for it."

She was silent for a while.

We went on in the cave until we saw a group of ten grunts gathered in a circle.

I whispered to the others, "Send out two Pokemon when I say." I waited for them to be spread out.

"GO!"

We ran out and surrounded the grunts, but within the circle, a female voice laughed.

"Poke Underground. How nice of you to come."

The grunts opened up their circle and Lyra stepped out.

"Never do that again. Either get plastic surgery or change the way you approach foes, because this whole subtle thing doesn't work with someone who dresses like that."

On a side note, I swear that I am the only person who both wears regular clothes and has a decent hairstyle, except for maybe Leaf… Whatever. Sometimes, my ADD can be a problem.

"Who are you to insult my clothing?"

"Someone with common sense. I mean seriously, what goes in that hat?"

"None of your business. Now, I believe you want a battle. Am I correct?"

"Yep. How does three on three sound?"

"I'm down with that."

"Okay. Let's go!"

Lyra sent out her Marill.

"Go, Blacklight!"

Our Pokemon materialized.

"You may have the first move."

"Okay, Blacklight, Faint Attack!"

He rushed in and hit Marill, doing some damage.

"Bubblebeam!"

A stream of Bubbles was launched at Blacklight. How would that do any damage? In what universe does bubbles hurt in a location that's not your eyes? But still, better safe then sorry.

"Use Bite to pop them!"

Blacklight bit the bubbles, but some of the fluid made contact with him, injuring him (so that's how bubbles damage stuff).

"Rush in with Quick Attack and get to it's tail thing!"

Blacklight nodded and jumped on it's tail.

"Now, Bite the ground and force the tail in it."

He bit it, making a fairly large gap, where he could stuff the tail so it wouldn't move.

"Eek! Marill, you've got to get out of there!"

He tried but couldn't escape.

"Now, non-stop Bites!"

"Marill, Water Gun!"

Blacklight was careful to avoid the stream of water, but couldn't do it forever. He did get in close enough for one Bite though, which caused both Pokémon to faint.

"Allright. Go, Ignite!"

My starter came out and got into a battle stance.

"Starter, eh? Two can play at that game. Go, Meganium!"

When Meaganium was sent out, I noticed the same aura I saw around Michael's Magnetric back in Pewter Tower. She was a shadow Pokémon! I couln't do anything apart from beat her right now, so I had to keep goinng.

"Flamethrower, let's go!"

"Magical Leaf!"

With the type advantage plus Flamethrower simply being more powerful than Magical Leaf, the flames destroyed the attack and hit Meganium dead on.

"No! Meganium!"

She recovered and went back up.

"Body Slam!"

Meganium rushed in, but she is incredibly slow, allowing Ignite to dodge with ease.

"Grr...All of her other attacks are not very effective except..."

I was slightly worried abut her tone.

"Shadow Rush!"

Michael's expression went from interested to scared.

"Red, that attack is super-effective on all non-shadow Pokémon and has 55 base power!"

"English please!" I yelled as Meganium was getting ready to charge.

"Don't let it hit you!"

"You heard him Ignite. Dodge it!"

"Don't let up Meganium!"

Meganium started running after Ignite. It started to look like a game of tag with how much endurance Meganium had.

"Ignite, wrap this up with Flamethrower!"

Ignite shot the attack but Meganium charged straight through it.

"How does that even work!?"

Meganium hit Charmeleon, knocking him out.

"Who else... Why not? Go, Spark!"

I sent out my recently caught Pikachu.

"Oh, you found that pathetic thing? It was supposed to be incredibly strong, but, well, look at it now."

"You're going to regret saying that. Right Spark?"

"Pi ka chu."

"You are going to fail miserably. Meganium, Magical Leaf!"

I just sent out Spark and he's in a tough spot. He is incredibly weak to attacks, and the only way to stop a Magical Leaf is to destroy the leaves. Well, I think the solution is pretty obvious.

"Spark, go underneath Meganium!"

Spark ran under Meganium, andn as the leaves came, moved slightly out of the way so they would hit Meganium instead. Yep, that was the obvious solution.

"You little-"

"Spark, Thunderbolt!"

Although it's not very effective, Spark's insane Special Attack did a lot of damage to Meganium.

"Go, Pokéball!"

"Huh?" both me and Lyra said in confusion. Michael was trying to capture a trainer's Pokémon? Doesn't he know- oh yea, the Snag Machine.

The Pokéball proceeded to suck in Meganium, wobbling once, twice, three times, and clicked. Michael caught Lyra's Meganium.

"How did you do that?" Lyra asked/demanded.

"I've got to keep some secrets."

It was lucky for us that Lyra either forgot or Michael never told her about his Snag Machine.

"THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE! WHY? HOW? WHAT JUST HAPPENED!"

Lyra calmed down for a second before saying two words I've heard before: "Get them."

Flinky: There it is. Lots of fight scenes in this one.

Red: It was shorter though...

Flinky: Come on, It took four days to write this, which is quite fast.

Red: If you say so.

Flinky: Now, I have something to ask of the readers. I don't really know who else to put on Red's team, so I would love suggestions (via review or PM, no preference). The only things I have to ask is that you give a nickname and the Pokémon isn't a legendary/starter/Lucario line.

Red: But I love Lucario...

Flinky: Everyone does. That's the issue. You would be hard pressed to find a fanfic that doesn't have a Lucario in it (my first one included). On top of that, I would prefer to keep it with Kanto Pokemon for the time being (not a rule though).

Red: What about Blacklight? He's an Umbreon from Johto/Gen 2.

Flinky: But he's an evolution of Eevee, a Kanto Pokemon.

Red: In FR/LG, which is what I'm based on, you can't evolve a Golbat into Crobat until you get the national dex, so it's the same principle.

Flinky: Yea, but in Gen 2 Red has an Espeon on his team so I wouldn't say it's that much of a stretch.

Red: ...
