Flinky: Hello world! It's Flinky.
Red: So what's your excuse for taking so long this time?
Flinky: First, school has gotten pretty intense. Second, it was hard to add more content to the chapter without having you and your friends go to Cerulean.
Leaf: I resent that statement!
Michael: You can't just say 'Red and his freinds'
Flinky: If you guys are up here, then that means...
Blue: Mr. Perfect just got here.
Flinky: Great. Now I have to go write somewhere else.
Red: You know we'll find you.
Flinky: That's the sad part of it.
UPDATE NOTICE:
Flinky: I did some small changes to the end of the chapter. I forgot to give his new Pokémon a nickname, so sorry about that.
"Get them."
Well, so much for saving Lyra. Spark and I sprinted away, with Michael right behind us. Leaf and Blue were surrounded though.
"Spark, use Thunderbolt on every grunt!"
Spark shocked them, giving our two members an opening to escape.
"Let's go!" I yelled out.
We ran through Mt. Moon, trying to find our way out or lose the grunts, whatever comes first.
"Spark, when you feel recharged, use Thunderbolt again!"
"Pika...CHUUUU!"
He stopped the grunts for a little while, allowing for us to climb up a ladder. While we were there, we noticed some strange rocks. They turned out to be fossils. I took the one that looked like an amber thing, Blue took the one with a helix design, and Leaf took the one that reminded me of a dome. Michael passed, saying that he would rather us take them.
We waited up there for twenty minutes before climbing back down. We didn't see any more signs of Team Rocket, so we looked for the exit.
Since it was going to be a while, I decided to spark up a conversation.
"So Michael, why did you take the Meganium?"
"Sorry, but I can't stand to see a shadow Pokémon, so I had to do something about it."
"Okay then. You know, I never really saw what Pokémon you have."
"Well, there's a reason. Most of them are shadows and don't do very well with people. They are also very unstable, and will enter reverse mode."
"Huh?"
"It's very complicated. One of the things Wes and I do are taking shadow Pokémon and purifying them. To do that, we have to be friendly with them, so they will start to feel emotion. Once they are ready, we take them to a shrine of Celibi where the final seal is lifted, turning them back into normal Pokémon. But since the shrine is in Orre, we can't purify them right now."
"I wonder if Omni can help with that. Omni, come on out!"
I sent her out.
"Now, do you know anything about purifying shadow Pokémon?"
"Yea, my friend Celibi does it all the time and she taught me how to. But I haven't seen one since Orre, there is no need."
"Well, Michael has some shadow Pokémon who he's trying to help. Can you do anything about them?"
"Sure!"
"Well, Michael, Omni will help."
"Thank you. Come on out, Houndour and Magnetric!" Once they materialized Michael said, "These are my only two shadows who are ready for purification."
"Okay then!"
Omni began glowing a brilliant light, and when it subsided, the Pokémon didn't have the dark aura they once had. The first thing they did was tackle Michael and licking his face.
"Okay guys, stop it."
They gradually got off.
"Now, return!"
His two new Pokémon were called back and he got back up to his feet.
"This makes things so much easier. It normally takes a while before I can help with the final seal."
"No problem, right Omni?"
"Not at all."
"Well okay then."
After 15 minutes of wandering, we made it out of Mt. Moon. There was still a walk to Cerulean City, but it wasn't that long.
"Hey Red," said Michael.
"Yea?"
"What do you plan on doing for when we reach Cerulean Tower? No doubt Team Rocket is tightening security after what we did in Pewter. Also how we went through Mt. Moon, they know we are coming."
"I was waiting for the right moment, and I think this is a good time. We will take the tower by force."
"Huh?"
"Team Rocket had a lot of explosives at Pewter, so I took some. I say we plant it at the base of the tower, use that as a distraction, and decimate any grunts in our way up until we reach the executive."
"Sounds like fun."
"You bet."
"Hey, do I get any say in this?" Leaf asked, somewhat annoyed.
"What about me?"
"Leaf gets a say, but I highly doubted you opposed my plan in the first place. Blue, you will disagree with anything I say."
"Not true."
"You just proved my point."
"Red, I hate you."
"Love you too."
It was almost like old times, with a close friend, Leaf, and the annoying stuck up Blue. It made me feel nostalgic for when we were back in Pallet. That reminds me…
"Hey, do any of you know who runs Pallet or Lavender Town? I know they don't have towers…"
"Actually, I know," said Blue, as arrogant as ever.
"What?"
"Pallet is run by Red while Lavender is run by the other Blue."
"How do you know this?"
"Red told me when I was an admin."
"You know you only got your position because I left."
"That was your fault."
"You joined too, so you're being a hypocrite."
"Grr…"
For the first time in several years, I saw Blue's face soften.
"What's wrong?" asked Michael.
"It's just been a little rough. I mainly joined because gramps was here, and I finally got to see him again. The only other relative I have is my big sister Daisy."
Even I had to take that seriously. Although I didn't have a sibling, I had two parents, who mostly cared about me. I wonder what they would think if they could see me. Mom was a real stickler for the rules, and would yell at me for a couple years if she could see me again (I have no doubts she saw me on TV). But dad, he's different. He never seemed to take part in mom's punishment when I broke a rule. He even said it was okay every once in a while. I really liked him, but I had to push him away. Yet, I think he would be proud. He would be happy to see me do something this big.
"Red, you okay?"
Michael snapped me out of my daydreaming.
"Yea, I'm fine."
"Alright then. We shouldn't have much longer to go."
Well, apparently not much more means camping out for at least another night. I was setting up the fire (or Ignite was while I made sure he didn't destroy a forest) when I saw my Pokégear buzzing. I forgot to call May.
"Hey May, what's up?"
"WHAT'S UP? YOU FORGOT TO CALL FOR TWO DAYS! WE THOUGHT TEAM ROCKET GOT YOU! WE WERE CALLING FOR THE PAST HOUR!"
"Calm down. We forgot to call because we just freed Pewter City, and we didn't pick up your previous calls because we were still in Mt. Moon."
"Alright, I guess so."
"How's your group doing?"
"Good! I'm the main fighter, with Brendan right behind me. Wally is really good with healing, and Wes is kinda.. how do I put this… solo."
"Yea, he's like that," Michael said when he heard our conversation.
"Always?"
"Yep."
"Great."
"Sorry to break up your conversation on Wes, who can very likely hear you right now, but how are doing along the lines of liberating cities?"
"Well, we still got some time. You see, my dad is a tower executive to the closest city, and I know I can't beat him. On top of that, he thinks I'm dead and I would prefer to keep it that way until I am confident I can beat him."
"Well that sucks. How long do you think until you make it to whatever city you're going for?"
"I'd say about three days."
"Well, good luck."
"Same goes for you."
We both hung up. If I didn't distract her, she would've ripped me apart when she got the chance.
"Hey Red! Wanna join us?" Leaf called out to me.
Everyone was gathered around the fire, including Ignite. I decided to leave him out of his ball.
"Sure!"
I ran over and sat next to Ignite.
"Red, hope you don't mind if I copy you. Bulbasaur, come on out!"
Leaf's Bulbasaur materialized and stood next to her.
"I'll join too. Go, Espeon!"
Michael's Espeon did the same as our Pokémon.
"What about you Gary?"
"Nah, I'm not that type of guy."
This was part of the reason we didn't like each other. Gary has an attitude more arrogant than me (which says something), and can be incredibly selfish at times.
We told stories about our lives before Poké Underground, ate dinner (which was better than I thought considering it was Blue's turn), and crashed. It was a lot more fun than normal.
The next morning, I decided to do some more training than normal. Instead of becoming stronger by beating and running from Rocket grunts, my team would do some real training.
"Everyone, come on out!"
All of my Pokemon appeared, including Omni.
"Now, I think it's time to do some real training. The only person here who has experience with this is Ignite before we became rebels. As for everyone else, we got some work to do."
I gave different jobs to my different Pokemon. Since Glow really needed experience so he could evolve into a Butterfree, I had him spar with Omni who really didn't need much help. Ignite and Spark were running laps around a mock course I set up, and Blacklight was working on increasing the power of his moves. While they were training, I walked around the forest looking for a Pokémon to catch. Having a full team would really help me because then I could do six on six battles. I eventually came across a Pidgeotto (who's real).
"Spark, can you come here?" I yelled back at my Pokemon's training sight. Spark, being my fastest Pokemon, took no time to get here.
"Spark, you see that Pidgeotto?"
"Pika."
"I'm going to try to capture it and I want your help."
"Pikachu."
"Good. Pidgeotto, I challenge you to a battle!"
Pidgeotto looked at me, then nodded. It (I have no idea what gender it is yet) flew up to the skies.
"Spark, Thunderbolt!"
He sent the attack to the sky and hit Pidgeotto head on. It looked hurt but was still flying.
"Now, go, Pokeball!"
Just as I said it, another ball flew in from who knows where. It was a good thing Pidgeotto wasn't unconscious, otherwise it couldn't have dodged it.
"Grr…"
I looked to see the source of the noise and saw it was a Rocket grunt.
"Spark, you know what to do."
Spark electrocuted him, paralysing him. I walked over and took off his belt. Normally, there's no need, but I don't want to deal with battling him right now.
"Who are you, why did you try to steal my catch, and who's with you?"
Pidgeotto flew down and landed beside me.
"I...won't...talk." He was having a hard time with the paralysis having some effect on his jaw.
"Spark, would you be so kind as to attack him again?"
He gave me a nod and shocked the grunt again.
"You...can't...make...me."
"You know what? Fine. I give up."
Both the grunt and Spark looked at me with a confused look.
"We're the good guys," I explained. "Torturing you for the answer is inhumane, like something you guys would do. I'm not like that. Now, I'm going to take your radio and tie you up. I will phone in for you saying you've been hurt by me 30 minutes after we're gone. That way, your still alive."
The grunt didn't say anything, so I proceeded to tie him up. Pidgeotto and I also had a fair battle, which I won, allowing me to catch him. I nicknamed him storm because he likes being out of his ball and became good friends with Spark. I told the others about the grunt and we packed up. I did do one thing I didn't say to him. I had Omni mess with his mind so he thinks that we're going in the opposite direction, in case he says where we are heading.
We walked for a half hour before coming to a hill. We climbed up it and saw Cerulean City, in all it's glory.
"You guys ready?"
"Yea!" everyone said in unison.
Flinky: There it is. Some character development around Red and Blue. Cerulean Tower is coming up in the next chapter. And on a side note, responding to Flashyhero's question, Mega Evolution and Primal Reversion will be in the story, but much later.
Red: So I get to Mega Evolve? Cool.
Flinky: *uses mind erasing device to make Red forget*
Red: What was I talking about?
