Flinky: Hello world! I'm back with a sorta-chapter. While most other Fanfictions are celebrating {non-specific winter holiday}, here, we're celebrating Red's birthday!

Red: Should I be excited?

Flinky: It's a pretty long chapter, so I would hope so. Also, reviews... I actually don't know why I say reviews anymore. It's usually one per chapter.

Flinky: Anyways, it's from Oblivion Wings. Part of my aim with this story was making it (rarely) serious. It probably was an issue in earlier chapters when Red should have showed more reaction to his friends brainwashing. In any case, thank you for the compliments.

Red's Pokémon (On hand):

Ignite (Charizard)
Moves: Flamethrower, Wing Attack, Blast Burn, Dig

Omni (Mew)
Moves: Why do I even bother anymore?

Storm (Pidgeot)
Moves: Hurricane, Wing Attack, Quick Attack, Steel Wing

Driver (Sandslash)
Moves: Earthquake, Dig, Magnitude, Swift

Azure (Lapras)
Moves: Ice Beam, Perish Song, Surf, Sing

Rift (Lucario)
Moves: Aura Beam, Thunder Punch, Close Combat, Dragon Pulse

"Wakey wakey Red."

I got up out of my sleeping bag slowly.

"It's too earl-"

Red flags went off immediately. My sleeping bag was here, but that was the only familiar thing in sight. I was inside a cage, which was in a huge red cave.

"What the fuck is going on?"

"I want to play a game."

I couldn't recognize the voice, but I did get the Saw reference.

"Here's what happens if you lose. There is a time bomb underneath the cage you are currently in. When the timer goes off, it will detonate with enough force to destroy your metal cage. To stop it, you must have your Pokémon retrieve the bomb and dispose of it. Good luck."

Shit. I have to get out of this… or should I? The only way out is to endanger my Pokémon, and I'm not letting that happen.

Blue's POV

"Red, you have one minute remaining," I said into the microphone. Once it was off, I started laughing with Michael. We were at the camp on Cinnabar, but, according to Omni, Red was in a pocket dimension created by Palkia. Michael set up a booth with video feed and a mic so we can mess with Red. It is his birthday, after all.

Leaf walked toward us.

"What are you guys doing? And where's Red?"

"Red is in there," I said, pointing to the camera. Before she could freak out, I explained "Relax, we're just pranking him."

"Okay… I guess. What did you do?"

"There's an explosive in there, and Red just has to use one of his Pokémon to retrieve it."

Leaf slapped me. "How strong is it!" she yelled.

"Calm down. It's not that strong, but can do some damage. Don't worry though. Red will be able to get out of it."

"You idiot! What does Red value above anything?"

"His… Pokémon…"

"Do you think that he would send them out in this situation? He's protecting them!"

"Shit…" The timer had 3 seconds remaining. I hit the countdown timer, but the bomb still exploded. It looked like Red was torn apart.

"YOU ASSHOLES!" Leaf yelled.

"I second that."

We turned around, and saw Red completely unharmed.

"Red!"

Red's POV

Leaf ran up and hugged me. Can't blame her.

"Okay, Leaf did have a point about my Pokémon, but seriously? It doesn't take a genius to tell it was you."

"What do you mean?" Blue asked.

"Team Rocket, or anyone that really hates me, would kill me without a second thought. I was somehow transported to a cave with no exit, so a teleport was used, and Omni wasn't with me, so that means she's involved."

"How did you do that though?" Michael asked.

"I survived the initial blast with a aura shield, and had Shadow display a projection of me getting brutally killed. Then, I had my entire team attack one point on the cave. It became a black, space thing, which spread through the entire cave. We were sucked up by it and spit out around Pewter city. Storm can travel fast though."

"How did you do all that in about 3 seconds?"

"I honestly don't know."

"I do," Michael said. "When you attacked the wall, the pocket dimension collapsed in on itself. That would increase the gravity in that area, which results in you experiencing time at… given the size… a rate of 1 to 15."

We looked at him with blank faces.

"The pocket dimension breaking made time go by faster for you."

"Gotch ya."

We sat around awkwardly for a while. I mean, they could have killed me (well, they couldn't, Team Rocket's been trying for the past year, but let's just ignore that for now).

"So, going to Pallet next, right?" I asked.

"Nah, we were planning on that prank taking up the day," Blue admitted.

"Plus, you shouldn't have to do this on your birthday," Leaf said.

"I got an idea! It was what I was originally going to do, but Blue and Michael talked me out of it. But I'll have to get Celibi."

"This scares me," I said.

"No, you'll like it. I'll be right back."

She teleported away. We waited for a while, then she came back with a Celebi.

"No, there's only one Celebi," Omni said to me.

Right. Just Celebi.

Omni and Celebi shot up a orb of pink and blue, respectively, which fused together. Then, it scattered into around 30 different pieces and flew to to other areas

We waited for something else to happen.

"Oh yea, you four have to come to."

They shot similar pieces into me, Blue, Leaf, and Michael.

We were teleported into an underground room, each inside small tubes. I hope this isn't a Hunger Games…

I looked around, and saw several familiar faces. May, Gold, Ethan, Brenda, Wes, everyone. There were also some other people I sorta recognized, like Nate, Hilda, and the rest of the Unova team. Then there was a group of five people that I'm just clueless on.

"Anyone know what's going on?" I asked.

"No idea!" May yelled back.

"I'm just as clueless," Gold admitted.

"Last time I checked we were in Sunyshore City," Dawn said.

"Welcome all!" Someone said above us. It sounded like it was into a microphone. "To the first annual restistance tournament!"

"Are any of you guys in a resistance team right now?" I asked, turning to the unfamiliar people.

"Yes, actually. We don't really have a name, but we're the main group in Kalos."

"Alright."

"Today, we have the honors of inviting Poké Underground, The Unovan Strike Team, and the Friends of Kalos," I saw the boy cringe when the announcer said that. Apparently they do have a name.

"Let's bring them up. Starting with the new recruit, the underdog, Zach, from Poké Underground!"

Zach was lifted up through the tube.

They kept on doing that with everyone, until I was the last one underground.

"And now, the face of the resistance, the one who can defeat Team Rocket, Fire Red!"

I was lifted up and onto a huge grass field. I was on a podium though, and everyone else was below me.

The grass field was inside a stadium, and the spectators were fairly interesting. I could make out both humans and Pokémon, along with almost every legendary, including Arceus. Of course, Omni was nowhere to be seen.

Apparently I'm at a tournament. That's nice.

"Alright everyone!" The announcer said. "Let's get this underway. We have 30 different trainers here today, and we will be using single elimination format, in a table of 32. It has been pre-determined that, due to their past achievements, Fire Red and Hilbert Warren will skip the first round."

How good is Hilbert that they let him skip the first round instead of Gold?

"Now, please pay attention to the screen."

It showed all of our faces on cards. They took out me and Hilbert's card, and the others went face down. They shuffled into a tournament bracket and flipped back over.

"The first match: Sapphire versus May! This one will be fun to watch!"

We were led off the field and into an area for just the trainers. Then, Omni appeared to all of us.

"Hello! Now, depending on who you are, it's a week to a month in the future. This is a mega tournament!"

I voiced what everyone was thinking. "What?"

"This is the ultimate Pokémon tournament, and we have over 10,000 spectators!"

"I don't think I signed up for this," Hilda said.

"It doesn't matter. We selected you anyways."

"Who's we?" one of the Kalos kids asked.

"It's me, Arceus, Celebi, Jirachi, and Cresselia."

Everyone was quiet after that.

"Well, Saphire and May, you two are up first. Have fun!"

She teleported away. Omni is weird. everyone just looked around before accepting it.

Sapphire and May were walking toward the field. You know, I don't see remake vs original that often. I mean, the only reason to do that before this tournament would be if it was me on Red, but that is going to be one of those epic final showdown things at the end of the story.

I looked around the area we were in. It had tables with 6 seats, a bar (I don't think any of us can use it yet), and a group of seats at a window looking at the field. There was also another room with a Pokémon healer and PC.

For the hell of it, I went to the bar. I couldn't recognize the bartender, but he seemed familiar.

"Ahh, Red, what can I get you? Needless to say, we don't have alcohol."

That comforts me a bit. "How do you know my name?" I asked.

"At this point, who doesn't? Anyways, you want something?"

"I guess I'll take a Solrockist."

"Right."

He poured me a glass of orange soda.

It still shocks me that they set this up. Unless this was already there. Omni did say something about how this was in the future though.

"So, I keep feeling like I've seen you before," I said.

"Probably in books," he responded. "I am a legend after all."

What does that mean? "Who are you though?"

"Sir Aaron, the Aura Guardian."

What the hell?

"Okay. You probably know what I'm going to ask," I said.

"Yep. I've been dead for a couple thousand years, but since I did so many good things for people, Arceus keeps me around. I'm basically asleep, and every once in awhile, Arceus will wake me up to help with things like this."

"Alright. Can you prove that you're Sir Aaron?" I asked.

"Of course."

He generated a cup of (blue) aura, and poured my soda into it.

"Proof enough?"

"Sure thing."

I touched the cup, and there was a red spark, before it started to glow. That never ends well.

I chucked the cup out the nearest window, and in mid-air, it exploded.

Aaron looked at me, shocked. "Are you by chance a-"

"Yep," Rift answered, appearing from his Pokéball. "Red can use red aura."

"Hmm, interesting. I may have to talk to you later."

After I finished my soda, I left the bar, and went over to a table with Blue, Wes, Silver, Zach, and Ruby.

"Hey guys," I said.

"Red, glad you're here. What color is more badass?" Ruby asked. "Red or blue?"

"What do you think I'll say?"

"Yea, but Blue and Wes say that blue is more intimidating," Zach said. "I on the other hand, believe that black is the best."

"Black with a color works the best," Silver stated. "Just black is too corny for people to take you seriously."

"Are we seriously having a discussion on the best clothing to wear into battle? I mean, almost none of us have changed our outfit. Like, at all."

"Yea, that's true."

We continued discussing clothing through the first bracket. It ended with me, Hilbert, Gold, Silver, May, Dawn, Michael, Wes, Rosa, Nate, Caleb (who I recently learned the name of), Serena, Leaf, Ruby, Ethan, and Blue making it on to the next round.

"Next battle: Fire Red vs Rosa," an intercom said. "Would the trainers please report to the battlefield."

I was going to go up against Rosa. That's fun. I went down to the battlefield with a full team.

The field was nice. The trainers had a raised area to watch the battle while the battlefield was below them.

"This is a three on three battle between Fire Red and Rosa. Would both sides please release their Pokémon."

"Go, Storm!" I yelled, releasing my Pidgeot.

"Bisharp, cut em' down!"

"Rosa may have the first move," the ref said. "Battle, begin!"

"Bisharp, Night Slash!"

"Dodge, then Hurricane!"

The ability to fly is a huge advantage here. Storm was able to get the hit in without even getting close to Bisharp.

"Ugh… Bisharp, return!" Rosa yelled.

"Rosa has selected to substitute her Pokémon," the ref said. No shit.

"Go, Braviary!"

Air battle. This will be fun.

"Since both sides are using a strong flyer, the option to raise the battlefield is given."

A small tablet built into the trainer box turned on. It said: "Would you like to convert to a temporary sky battle?"

Why not? I selected yes.

After a while, the ref said "Both trainers have agreed. The trainer boxes will be raised."

The area I was standing in moved upward, until we were pretty far off the ground.

Our Pokémon flew up to us.

"Sky battle, begin!"

"Braviary, Rock Slide!"

"Dodge, then Wing Attack!"

The Rock Slide missed, while Wing Attack hit dead on.

"Alright. Now, Quick Attack!"

I regret saying that. I haven't had Storm use that since he evolved. He moved extremely fast. I heard a sonic boom (the physical occurrence, not the move) and couldn't keep track of him. It ended with a heavy attack on Braviary.

"Braviary, use Aerial Ace!" Rosa called.

"Counter with Steel WIng!" I yelled.

Both attacks hit, but I think Storm took more damage.

"While he's hurt, use Brave Bird!" Rosa ordered.

"Storm, bank down!"

He understood the command. Braviary was chasing him using Brave Bird, while Storm was going to the ground. I waited until I knew it was right.

"Pull up!"

Without any pause, Storm did a perfect turn going parallel to the ground. Braviary on the other hand wasn't so lucky.

"Braviary is unable to continue. The sky battle has ended." The platform lowered down until we were back on the battlefield. "Rosa, please send out your next Pokémon."

"You're good Red. I'll give you that."

"I know."

"But it ends now. Bisharp, take him down!"

She sent out the Bisharp from before.

"Battle, begin!"

"Bisharp, use Feint Attack!"

Storm was flying 20 feet above Bisharp, but was still hit. Because logic.

He was still up, but fairly injured.

"Okay, this isn't your battle. Storm, return!"

"Red has decided to make a substitution."

I called back Storm as I decided who I should use next. It didn't take much thinking.

"Go, Rift!"

My Lucario appeared.

"Battle, begin!"

"Aura Beam!" I called.

It was a one-hit KO. I mean, it's one of the strongest fighting type moves against someone with a 4x weakness to the type.

"Huh," Rosa said. "Alright then. Let's bring this back Serperior!"

"Rift, return! Go, Storm!"

I've just been switching those two out the entire battle.

"Battle, begin!"

"Servine, use Leaf Blade!"

Her Servine jumped up extremely fast, smashing Storm downward. He was going to fast for his wings to stop him, but I have another idea.

"Hurricane to cushion the fall, then send it their way!" I commanded.

Storm, although somewhat confused, did so. The hurricane slowed him down a lot, so he wasn't KO'd when he hit the ground. He did look fairly injured though. Although it was weaker, he launched the hurricane at Serperior.

"Ride it upwards, then use Leaf Blade!" Rosa commanded.

So, I'm not one for laying traps, but this one was pretty good. Once Serperior was riding on the wind, I gave a command. "Go for it."

Storm stopped acting hurt and flew directly at Serperior with a Wing Attack. Serperior couldn't dodge, and had to accept the hit, which knocked her out.

"Serperior is unable to continue, making Pidgeot the winner. The victory goes to Fire Red!"

Alright. Without losing a single Pokémon. Damn I'm good.

"And Fire Red moves on to the next bracket," the announcer said. "Stay in your seats, because next up is Michael versus Wes, in the shadow showdown."

We were led off the field. I went back to the trainer's room while Rosa was led to another one.

"Good job Red," Leaf said. "Now there's less competition for me."

"I can't fault you there."

We watched Michael vs. Wes for a while. They both used a couple shadow Pokémon to make it interesting. It was a close battle, but Wes won in the end.

Leaf and Blue got by, along with Gold, Hilbert, Serena, Wes (of course), Calem, and me.

"We're now in the top 8," the announcer said. "The steaks have been raised, along with the Pokémon caps. You can now expect to see some intense 4 on 4 action here. Now, it's time for the matchups to be decided."

There was another face-spin thing, before revealing the battles. I'm going against… Serena. Well, time to take on one of the Kalos people. Better than me having to face Leaf. I wouldn't mind going against Blue though. It's been a while since we've done that.

"Will Leaf and Gold please report to the battlefield. You're up in 5."

"Well, see you soon," Leaf said to me.

"You better get past," I said. "The losers can't come back here, and I'd rather not be stuck talking to Blue."

"I won't be long." She gave me a kiss on the cheek.

Technically, she is my girlfriend, but it should be pretty obvious I'm not into that kind of stuff.

She went down to the battlefield, and, well, battled. It was a close fight, but Gold won by his Feraligatr using Ice-type attacks against Leaf's Venusaur.

"And the winner is Gold! Next battle is Serena on Fire Red."

I got a new team and went down to the field.

"This is a 4 on 4 battle between Fire Red and Serena," the ref said. "Substitutions are allowed. Will both sides please send out their Pokémon."

"Absol! Take him down!" she said, releasing an Absol.

"Go, Driver!"

"Serena may have the first move. Battle, begin!"

"Night Slash!" Serena yelled.

"Dig under it!" I countered.

Driver dug underground before the attack arrived.

"Swords Dance while he's underground!"

She's pretty smart. Absol did a Swords Dance, boosting its attack.

"Okay, quick plan change, come up under Absol but use Swift at the same time!"

My Sandslash popped up underneath Absol, using both attacks at the same time.

"Hit him with Slash!"

Driver couldn't escape, and was hit with a boosted, critical Slash.

"Arceus damn it!"

Arceus looked at me.

"Sorry!" I yelled.

Driver was pretty injured but still in it.

"Okay, Earthquake!"

The attack hit dead-on, but didn't do much. Well, it's about time I take a gamble.

"Now, follow up with Magnitude!"

"Looks like we have a Magnitude 8!" the announcer said. I racked my brain trying to remember if it's stronger than Earthquake. Judging by the effects on Absol, I'd say it was about the same.

"Absol, don't let him keep going, and use Night Slash!"

"Let's make sure we keep going and use Earthquake!"

Earthquake hit before Absol could get close.

"Before he can recover! Magnitude again!"

This one was a lot stronger than the last one. Even I could feel it.

"How… How is that possible?" the announcer asked. "We have readings of that being a Magnitude 11! The highest the move can go 10!"

I looked at Driver, who shrugged.

Meanwhile, Absol was knocked out.

"Absol is unable to continue. Serena, please send out your next Pokémon."

"Alright. Let's shut them down Meowstic!"

"Driver, let's keep going!"

"Battle, begin!" the ref said.

"Meowstic, Reflect!"

"Driver, Earthquake!"

Wait, what does Reflect do?

Earthquake hit, and did much less damage than it should.

I got a text on my Pokégear from Blue.

"Reflect doubles the Pokémon's defense, idiot."

Well, that narrows us down to… Swift. How do the competitive players have Pokémon that focus on one attack?

I was lifted up in the air and thrown back down. An unfamiliar voice said in my head "No fourth wall breaks while I'm around."

Right, Palkia hates those. Both Serena and the ref stared at me, before looking back to the battle.

"Driver, Swift!"

"Mean Look Meowstic!"

Fuck you Serena. Fuck you.

"Alright Driver, keep using Swift!"

Driver nodded, knowing that this wouldn't be his battle.

"Psychic!" Serena yelled.

It did damage, but Driver was still up.

This isn't going to work. Swift isn't doing anywhere near enough damage, but he can't do much while Reflect is up.

How does that work anyways? Might as well find out.

"Driver, use Dig!" I called.

Driver went underground, dodging another Psychic attack in the process. When he popped up, he hit a barrier before making contact with Meowstic. So, it slows the attack down. I can work with this.

"Alright Driver, get in as close as possible!"

He was confused, but by now, he's learned to listen to my strange commands. He got into touching distance with Meowstic, coming through the barrier.

"Hit him with everything you got now!" I ordered.

He used several Earthquakes inside Meowstic's cage, dealing normal damage, and it being amplified by bouncing off the barriers.

Meowstic was taken down.

And apparently Driver was too.

"Meowstic has fainted first, but due to a Destiny Bond, has taken Sandslash with it. As such, Serena must send out her Pokémon first."

Destiny Bond. On the upside, it means that Driver is too good to be stopped without that move.

"Let's take it back Vaporeon!" Serena yelled.

"Go, Blade!" I said, simply. It's been awhile since I've used my Scyther.

"Battle, begin!"

"Quick Attack," Serena ordered.

"Bug Buzz around you, see if you can get Vaporeon to run into it!" I countered.

Vaporeon ran right into it, cancelling her attack and doing damage.

"Follow it up with X-Scissor!" I yelled.

Blade hit her dead-on, knocking her out. That was a bit faster than expected.

"Serena, please send out your final Pokémon."

"Okay Venusaur, it's time to do it," she said, more seriously than the previous times.

She sent out a Venasaur, with a weird marble-thing strapped to its head.

"Blade, return!"

A trainer's last Pokémon are never a pushover. Most of the time.

"Go, Ignite!"

"Battle, begin!"

"Venusaur, mega evolve!"

She tapped her bracelet, and it started glowing, along with the stone on Venasaur's head. This is reminding me of what my dad did… SHIT.

When Venasaur's glow went away, he had a larger plant, was bigger, and generally looked tougher.

"Alright Venasuar! Now, let's take them down. Use Leech Seed!"

"Dodge it!" I commanded. Ignite still was hit, and the seed planted itself.

"Okay… use Fury Swipes!"

Ignite ran up and used Fury Swipes on Venusaur. It confused Serena a bit. After all, I'm having a Fire-type use a normal type move that it can't learn, at all.

"Umm, okay, use Sleep Powder!"

"Dodge and use Night Daze!"

Ignite dropped his illusion to reveal Shadow. The Leech Seed faded away too, because it was also an illusion.

Zoroarks are the best.

Shadow delivered the Night Daze to Venusaur, who was forced to take the hit.

"Don't just take it! Use Solarbeam!"

"Keep going Shadow!"

Shadow fired multiple Night Dazes and Night Slashes, all hitting Venusaur before he could retaliate.

"Now!" Serena yelled. "Fire it!"

It looked a lot stronger than normal. I mean, I get that it's a mega-evolution, but damn.

It hit Shadow square in the chest, sending him flying to the stadium wall. Until he used Night Slash right behind Venusaur.

"Wait, what?" Serena asked.

The ref blew his whistle.

"Red card on Fire Red for using a Double Team-like move to dodge the attack, increasing his evasion stat to an unfair level. Under the penalty of elongation of battle, Fire Red must return Zoroark and may not use him later in the battle, acting as a knockout in Serena's favor."

This… This is bullshit.

"Looks like Fire Red must return his Zoroark, leaving him with Scyther and one unchosen Pokémon."

This is fucking bullshit.

"Arceus damn-" I caught myself mid-sentence.

"Sorry Shadow," I said, returning him. He was just as pissed as I was.

Well, Venusaur is at mid-health, and I have two Pokémon left.

"Go, Blade!"

My Scyther was sent out. I have a type advantage, but that usually doesn't mean shit.

"Battle, begin!"

"Use X-Scissor!" I commanded.

Blade moved in and delivered the attack before Venusaur could react.

"Follow it up with Wing Attack!"

"Cath him in a Poison Powder!" Serena yelled.

"Nail him before he can do that!"

Blade got in and hit while Venusaur was still producing the poison. I couldn't tell if he was affected yet.

"Leech Seed Venusaur!"

"Dodge, and then use X-Scissor!"

Blade easily dodged the attack, and landed another hit.

He got 3 super effective attacks in, but it's just not doing much damage. It looks like the damage is being balanced by something else… Reflect. The move is still in effect.

"Alright Blade, New strategy. Special Attack moves only. Bug Buzz!"

Blade nodded before firing the attack, which did a lot more damage than the other attacks.

"Stop them Venusaur! Use Double Edge!"

Venusaur started moving for the first time since the battle started. He moved fast.

"Dodge it, then Bug Buzz!"

Blade couldn't dodge. he took the attack, and was knocked out.

"Scyther is unable to battle. Fire Red, please send out your final Pokémon."

Ignite could get a guaranteed finish, but I don't care for that.

"Go, Glow!"

My Butterfree came onto the field. It's been a while since I used her.

"Alright Venasaur! Let's win this!"

"Glow, we can do this."

"Battle, begin!"

"Use Poison Powder!" I ordered.

Glow immediately used the move, poisoning Venusaur.

"Venusaur, use that too!"

Venusaur landed his attack, so both sides were poisoned.

"Looks like both sides are poisoned. With Butterfree at higher health, Venusaur has to wrap this up before the poison finishes him," the announcer commented.

"Glow, use Silver Wind!"

Glow fired the attack, doing considerable damage. Venusaur was almost down.

"Venusaur, we have to finish it now. Double Edge!"

"Just fly over it," I said.

Glow easily dodged the attack.

"Huh…" Serena said. "Should have thought that one through."

The poison finished off Venusaur, and he was down. He glowed, and reverted back to his normal form.

"Venusaur is unable to continue, making Butterfree the winner. The victory goes to Fire Red!"

"Nice one Glow!" I yelled.

"Free butterfree!"

"With Fire Red and Silver in the table of four, there's going to be some tough competition, especially for the winner of Calem versus Blue, up next!"

I went back to the room, which was noticeably emptier. Sir Aaron was still there though.

"Ah, Red. That was a nice battle you had. I agree that your Zoroark shouldn't have been removed."

"Yea, but that's in the past. I still won, so I'm not complaining too much."

"I guess. Anyways, I was wondering, could you show me an example of red aura?"

"Any particular reason?" I asked.

"I got curious. After all, you are, quite literally, one in 500."

"Alright. We're going to need a bit more space though."

We climbed to the roof of the room, where I started doing some of my favorite tricks. I showed him my shield, explosive jumping, Aura Beam, and other things that I've used.

"Very interesting… Your aura seems to be very chaotic."

"I think that's what Rift said a while ago."

"You mean your Lucario, yes?"

"Yep."

After my demo, we went back down. Apparently, Blue was knocked out too.

The final four was me, Gold, Calem, and Hilbert.

"Now the real battles begin. Full 6 on 6's, with the best of the tournament. Up now is Fire Red versus Calem!"

Me and Calem battled, and honestly, he was a bit of a pushover. His entire team had high special defenses, while mine have high attacks. Rift alone knocked out three of his Pokémon.

Once our battle was over, I watched Hilbert go against Gold. It was a lot closer than my battle, but Hilbert won.

"And there we have it folks! Hilbert has finished off Gold. Next up is the battle for third place between Calem, and then the final between Hilbert and Fire Red."

Well, time to get ready.

Flinky: Okay. Sorry if the long battles aren't your thing. If it helps at all, the next chapter (which, by the time you read this, should be completed) has a lot more emphasis on the characters in general. Since there's a high chance I will procrastinate, I'll just say happy {non-specific winter holiday}.
