Flinky: Final chapter!

"Battle, begin!"

"Blacklight, use Bite!" I ordered.

"Espeon, use Miracle Eye," Red said, calmly.

Both attacks landed, but didn't really do anything. Yet.

"Now, use Psychic," Red followed up.

"Scatter it with Shadow Ball!" I said.

Blacklight's Shadow Ball tore apart Espeon's Psychic, causing it to fade out.

"How did you know that that would work?" Blue asked.

"I didn't," I responded. "Follow up with Assurance!"

This attack worked a lot better.

"Don't just take it! Use Swift!"

Since Swift always hits, and Blacklight already used a move, I had to let the Swift hit.

"Shadow Ball!" I said.

"Psybeam," Red countered.

The result was kinda weird. Usually, when two high-energy attacks are fired at each other, they collide and push against each other until one overpowers the other. But this time they just passed by each other, and hit their targets without any problems.

The attacks knocked both Pokémon out.

"Blacklight, return!"

"Well, that was disappointing. Espeon, get back," Red ordered. "I have to say Fire, I'm impressed. It takes a certain type of trainer to tie a battle where your opponent has the most severe type disadvantage possible."

"And it takes another type of trainer to have started years before me and can only tie while using Miracle Eye."

"Hmph. Well, that battle was surprisingly tame anyways. Let's pick it up a little. Go, Aerodactyl!"

I looked up. That… that's a fucking dinosaur. Literally.

"Okay, Go, Azure!" I yelled, sending out my Lapras.

"Maybe you do have a few brain cells," he mumbled. "Aerodactyl, return!"

"Pursuit!" I ordered.

Oh, how I love this trick. "Azure" used Pursuit before Aerodactyl could be returned, dealing double damage.

"How… How does a Lapras know Pursuit? That's not possible… Okay, go Pikachu!"

He sent out his Pikachu.

"Use Thunderbolt," he said.

"Sucker Punch Shad- err, Azure!"

My Pokémon hit first, but Pikachu still landed the attack. Azure's Illusion faded, revealing Shadow, my Zoroark.

"How could I have fallen for such a strategy? I'll need to work on that… Pikachu, Quick Attack!"

"Night Daze Shadow!"

This time Pikachu hit first, stunning Shadow a bit, but not enough to miss his attack.

Pikachu wasn't looking the greatest, but neither was Shadow. Both are Pokémon who usually dodge attacks, so it's no wonder they're both not doing too well.

"Take it Pikachu, then use Thunder!"

"Come on Shadow, dodge!"

Pikachu fired directly at Shadow. He looked really hurt. Of course, looks are literally the worst way to judge your opponent when fighting a Zoroark.

Once Pikachu finished, the almost KO'ed Shadow disappeared, then reappeared behind Pikachu, and delivered a high-strength Sucker Punch. It knocked Pikachu out.

"Nice work Shadow!" I praised. He looked at me, but winced a little. I did a quick scan… yep. Just my luck. He's paralysed.

"That was a cheap fight, and you know it. Finish him off Aerodactyl."

He sent out the Aerodactyl again.

"Use Ice Fang. Finish off the husk of a Zoroark."

"Try to dodge," I said, weakly. I knew it wasn't going to do much though. After taking two direct attacks, and being paralysed, Shadow couldn't dodge, and was knocked out.

"That's how you fight!" Red yelled. "Not this 'hiding in the shadows' bullshit."

"I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you. Did you say more clever strategies? Well, if you insist. Go, Azure! For real this time!"

I sent out my Lapras, with a strong type advantage against Aerodactyl.

Red looked at Azure. "I'm not subbing Aerodactyl out twice-"

"Use Perish Song!" I ordered.

"... fuck you. Use Rock Slide."

"Does that shell do anything?" I asked Azure. "Because if so, use it!"

Azure used the shell on her back to block the majority of the rocks. The ones that did hit were super-effective though.

"Okay, Ice Beam!"

"Dodge Aerodactyl."

Azure tipped one of Aerodactyl's wings. It didn't do much damage, but his flight pattern became much more chaotic.

"That'll work. Use Ice Beam again!"

"Counter with Hyper Beam!"

Looks like Pokémon moves are back to normal. The two attacks collided, with each side putting as much energy into it as possible. Areodactyl won out though, and KO'd Azure.

"Well, that went well-"

Midway through Red's sentence, Perish Song kicked in, knocking out Aerodactyl.

"…Not a word," he threatened. "Go, Snorlax!"

"Go, Storm!"

My Pidgeot and his Snorlax took the stage.

"We're not playing by the official rulebook, right?" I asked.

"Why do you ask?"

"Becuase I want to make this fight a bit more fun."

"Go ahead. You'll need the handicap anyways."

"Storm, mega evolve!"

"Wait, not that-"

Storm started glowing, morphing into a mega Pidgeot.

"How you feeling?" I asked.

"PIDGEOT!"

"I don't know what you said, but it sounds good."

"Well, this makes things more interesting…" Red mumbled to himself. "Use Body Slam!"

Snorlax managed to jump up at least 20 feet into the air to be able to attack Storm. He dodged easily, but I mean, come on. Something that big should not be able to jump that high.

When Snorlax landed, he bounced back up into the air. It somehow hit Storm.

"Fire!" I heard Blue call. "Mega Pidgeot's ability is No Guard. All attacks called will land. You can't dodge."

Fuck.

"Okay then, I'll think of something. For now, use Hurricane!"

After recovering from Snorlax's attack, he fired off the attack. With No Guard in place, the attack hit.

"Use Hyper Beam!" Red called.

Again, fuck.

"Try to outrun it," I commanded.

Storm was easily faster than the beam. He's faster than most attacks normally, let alone when mega-evolved.

"I got it! Keep moving. No Guard or not, the Hyper Beam can't hit if you keep moving."

Storm kept flying around until Snorlax stopped the Hyper Beam out of exhaustion.

"What are you doing Snorlax? Keep firing!"

Snorlax tried to form another beam, but couldn't.

"He had to stop a Hyper Beam because he was too tired. Do you think he can fire another one immediately?" I asked.

"Of course he can. Now, do it!"

"Let's hurry up before he pushes his Pokémon any further. Use Hurricane! Follow up with Wing Attack!"

The two attacks in a row knocked Snorlax out.

"Well, you were a waste. Return." He turned to me. "Well, that was the last of the boring battles. I believe you know who I'm sending out next. Go, Mew!"

He sent out Omni.

I froze for a second. There she was. One of my oldest Pokémon, who's been with me since day, like, three. Who wants my head off.

"Well, glad to see you're nice and locked up. Perfect. Makes this go along a lot smoother."

"Typical," I said, after a pause. "The perfect example of Team Rocket right here. A Pokémon raised and trained by me, being used against me, because you don't have the balls to face me in a fair fight. Of course, I can't call you out too much on that. Storm, return!"

I called back Storm.

"You too, should know this Pokémon," I said. "After all, you created it. Go, Mewtwo!"

Mewtwo took the battlefield, staring down Omni and Red.

"This really is the ideal fight, isn't it?" he asked. "Two originals fighting two traitorous clones, made to be better. The perfect showdown."

"Well, technically speaking, everyone involved is a traitor. Just some people did it twice."

Red thought about it for a while. "I mean, I guess… But let's get at it. Mew, use Shadow Ball!"

"Mewtwo, use Protect."

The Protect held, stopping the Shadow Ball.

"Teleport in, then Thunder Punch!" I commanded.

"Meet it with Fire Punch!" Red countered.

The two attacks were even.

"Use Psychic!" We both yelled.

Another perfectly balanced attack.

"Mew, use Fire Blast on the ground! Make sure he can't stand!" Red ordered.

Normally, I would use Thunder or Blizzard in the air so that they can't fly around too much. Unfortunately, Mewtwo can't learn as many moves as Omni.

"Okay, use Psychic on the ground!"

Mewtwo lifted up parts of the molten battlefield.

"Throw it!"

He launched five balls of fire-rocks at Omni, taking both her and Red by surprise.

The attack hit, and I think it caused a burn.

"Fire, you son of a bitch… Full power Payback!" Red ordered.

"That's not very nice. Mewtwo, use Protect."

Another perfectly blocked attack.

"Okay… I really didn't want to do this, but you're being a complete pain in the ass… Use Master Beam!"

What a surprise. The move I created. Last time Omni used Hyper Beam on Mewtwo, it shattered his protect. So we won't do that this time.

"Teleport!" I yelled.

Mewtwo warped out of the way with his arms crossed.

"I will remember this… In case you ever decided to kill me again."

I laughed, somewhat nervously. "Let's not bring that up… One more time! Quickly!"

The Master Beam curved around to hit Mewtwo. Thankfully, he heard my yell at the right moment. Of course, it changed positions again.

"Okay, teleport in front of Omni!"

Now it was Red's turn to be caught off guard. Mewtwo teleported in front and away from Omni, causing her to get hit with her own attack.

"Gah… Again!"

"Mewtwo, you have any special signature moves that would be helpful to know?"

"I suppose Swift could be combined with several other attacks…"

"Got it. Use Swift, Psystrike, and Aura Sphere!"

Mewtwo concentrated, before glowing. He first formed a ball of aura, which then had a pink coat around it. Finally, several stars, started orbiting around it.

"And, release."

The attack met Omni's Master Beam… and powered straight through.

"Wha-?"

"Close in and use Psycho Cut!"

While Omni was recovering, Mewtwo teleported in, and hit her again.

Red paused. "Hm… Well, let's secure the victory. Use Self-Destruct!"

"Protec-" I was too late. Both Mewtwo and Mew were unconcious.

"Well Fire, this has been quite the duel. But, you only have one Pokémon left. As do I. And I don't recall your Pokémon ever beating mine. Go, Charizard!"

I looked at his Charizard. It didn't look any different from mine. But he beat me two times. Both times nearly killing me as well.

"Well, let's break the pattern. Go, Ignite!"

And now we both had Charizards. This is the final showdown. Starter vs starter. Sure, the Mewtwo v Mew duel was intense, but this… this is a completely different feeling.

Red looked at me, smiling. "Now, this is already a hard fight for you to win. But now, it's going to be impossible. Charizard, Mega Evolve!"

His Charizard transformed into a Mega Charizard X. Ignite looked a little worried.

"Come on, we can still win this," I encouraged.

While we were having a stare down, I saw one of Red's Pokéballs wiggle. He put his hand on it, and it stopped. Noted.

"Ignite, use Wing Attack!"

"Dragon Claw."

We were completely overpowered, and Ignite was sent flying. After one attack!

"Flamethrower," I ordered.

"Fire Blast," Red countered.

Destroyed again. Ignite was on low HP after two attacks.

"Okay…" I noticed Red's Pokéball wiggle again. I wonder…

"Use Smokescreen," I said.

Ignite put up a smokescreen. That way, Charizard couldn't see him, and I can deal with that Pokéball. I bursted a flood of red aura toward his belt, and the Pokéball came of. Thankfully, he didn't notice, since he was trying to see through the smoke Ignite was hiding in.

"Try your seven o' clock… no…"

The Pokéball I stole burst open, revealing Omni.

"Hey… it's you…"

She was still wounded from the battle with Mewtwo. I was going to return her, but she lifted the ball out of my reach.

"Just.. Give me a second…"

She used Recover, healing her wounds.

"Much better. Now, I understand if you may not trust me right now, but you recall that weird stone N gave you?"

Wait, what? She wanted me dead 15 minutes ago, and now she's giving me advice?

"Wait, hold-"

"Just give Ignite the weird stone, okay?"

I took it out of my pocket. Ignite had the time to put it on, since the smokescreen is still in effect.

"Okay… Ignite! Six 'o clock!"

He caught the stone, then looked at me. Then, I noticed my bracelet glowing.

"Weird… It doesn't look like Charizardite…"

"Why are you waiting? The Red I remember would smash that bracelet."

Well, why the fuck not.

"Let's see what this does!"

I could feel my aura pumping into the bracelet, causing it to glow. A lot. Eventually, a beam went from the bracelet to Ignite. It looked like he was mega-evolving, but inside a red sphere instead of the usual pink.

"What's going on?" Red asked.

"I dunno," I replied. "But I like it."

When the glow faded, I saw Ignite. Definitely looked like a mega evolution.

His scales turned dark red, similar to Rift's fur. The physical changes weren't much, but there was fire EVERYWHERE. On the edges of his wings, all the way up his tail (not just the tip), the horn things on his head, everywhere.

"Well, this looks like fun," I commented. "Let's try out a flamethrower."

When he used flamethrower, the fire was much more red than normal. If I had to take my guess, I would say aura.

"Charizard! Put him down before he can fight back!"

Red's Mega Charizard flew to mine. Ignite grinned, then literally turned into fire, causing the Dragon Claw to go straight through him.

"Okay, that's bullshit," Red said, frustrated.

"Let's try out a Wing Attack now."

When Ignite reappeared, he slashed Charizard with his wings. And since his wings had aura-fire on them, they hurt. A lot.

"Fire Blast!" Red ordered.

"Since I have no idea what your abilities are now, avoid getting hit however you like."

Ignite phased back into his pure fire form and charges straight into the Fire Blast. His body actually absorbed the fire. But he didn't stop there. In that form, he charged towards Charizard. As Ignite was passing through, it became clear that Charizard hurt. A lot.

"Okay, that's pretty cool. I'll think of a name later. But for now, let's end this. Blast Burn!"

"That's the move that defeated you two twice. I will not fall to it! Charizard, use Blast Burn too!" Red said.

Ignite's body glowed white. Then, from out of his mouth, a huge stream of white fire burst out. Meanwhile, Red's Charizard had a similar effect with a blue Blast Burn.

The attacks clashed, but Ignite began to overpower Red. After a few seconds, the white fire hit

"It's over…" I said to myself, before anyone could react. "We're done…"

Red returned Charizard without saying a word.

The admins watching the fight were shocked.

"Fire, you did it!" Leaf ran up and hugged me. "We're done! We beat Team Rocket!"

The rest of Poké Underground followed her, and surrounded me.

Arceus' POV

Well this was going to be quite the mess to clean up. Dialga, Giratina, Palkia, Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza came over to the hall of origin to watch the fight between Red and Fire. Now, there was chip dip everywhere, and guess who was the only one left to clean it up?

Red's POV

Once everyone finished throwing me around, I walked over to Red. I motioned him to follow me into a back room.

"So… that was a fight," I started.

"Fire… you saved me… I've done so many things… I've killed Pokémon, hunted down innocent citizens, used super-weapons… I can't believe it."

"Well, that's in the past. We're done now."

"Yea… We really did win, didn't we? Honestly, when I started Poké Underground, I thought the last battle would be between me and Giovanni. Instead, it was me versus a clone of me."

"So, I take it your brainwashing has faded off?"

"Yea… feels good to be free."

"Well, there's like 20 people out there with varying opinions of you. I would suggest you talk to them."

"I think I will, just cover me if they try to attack, okay?"

"Got it."

Well, after that battle, Team Rocket was pretty much destroyed. Without Red, the remaining admins were left defenseless, so it was pretty easy to arrest them. Most everyone liked Red again, which was something I was kinda worried about. Oh, and we FINALLY found Kris, after like, a year.

Profesor Oak did some studies on Ignite in his mega evolution, and… didn't find out anything. Maybe I'll get some more information on it in a sequel.

As for the regions, things started up like before. There were trainers, gyms, championships, and a sorta-new elite four (I was even offered to be the Kanto champion).

I released Omni and Mewtwo. But, since I'm like, one of five humans they trust, I still see them all the time.

But, there was a new problem. Without Team Rocket, there was no real reason for Poké Underground to stay together. Not like we were in constant contact anyways.

Everyone was heading to their home regions, including Michael. So before everyone left, we had one last meeting.

"Well, it's been one hell of a ride," I said. "50% of this room has, at one point, attempted to kill the other 50%. We've freed cities, nations, and now the entire world. That's not too bad."

Everyone cheered. After things settled down, people began saying their goodbyes. Some were going off to live with their parents again, some were going to start a new life, some are going to do Arceus-knows-what… Well, I know one thing. This day marked the end of Team Rocket and also Poké Underground.

As the last members teleported away, that left Leaf, Blue, Yellow, and I (and Zach, but we didn't know him very well anyways). We all settled in Indigo Plateu, since I was the champion. I also got to choose the new Elite Four, so naturally I chose Blue, Leaf, and Yellow. I would offer a spot to Michael too, but since he's an Orre native, I can't. He still comes by a lot though.

"So, are we done?" Omni asked.

"I think so. I mean, we beat Team Rocket, freed the world, had a small closer. Is there anything I'm missing?"

"Well, we still don't know what happened to Giovanni. Or the rest of Viridian for that matter."

"I'll just save that for the epilogue."

"Come on. You know the author is too lazy to write one."

"Well, yea, but it would feel way too forced if we just stuck it on the end here."

"Fine, just make sure he hurries up."

"Will do."

Flinky: And done. Now, I'm sorry for all the shortcomings or failed expectations. I kinda lost interest in this story, like four chapters ago. So now feel free to make me feel like an idiot at missed plot points, being unable to keep suspension of disbelief, Marry Sue characters, and deus ex machina situations. Also, I have a question for veryone who's made it this far. What did you like about this story? When I go back and read through earlier parts, it seems pretty bad, so I'm wondering why you all managed to keep reading to this point. basically, I have a good idea of what I did wrong (and feel free to further educate me on that matter) but I want to know what I did right.

Red: That was a kinda crappy outro.

Flinky: I mean, you have a point. I may make an epilogue though.

Red: Just please, for the love of Arceus, don't take three months to write it.

Flinky: Well, sorry. Oh, and one last thing: Thanks to everyone who went all the way through this story. I've put a lot of time into it, and, even if it's slightly under 20 people, am happy that some people actually like this story.

Red: So... what's next?

Flinky: Dunno. I'll probably talk about the future in the epilogue.

Red: So we get to wait another three months. yay.

Flinky: Well, unless I decide to actually write it, goodbye. Until my next story. That may take a while.
