I'm back, with another chapter in store for my, hopefully, enthralled audience. As usual, I didn't buy the cartoon this week, so I do not own Danny Phantom. The stuff that was going on? On March 3, 2015, my second nephew was born. He has two siblings, one three a one half, male, and one sister, about one and one half years old. We had to watch them, with only three of us available to watch, for nearly two days. Nightmarish!

Chapter 2: Into the Lab

I had agreed to go down to the lab so I could tell my friends what Mom and Dad were working on. I have to admit, I was rather curious, and the noises were very intriguing. This morning they had stopped, so I figured they were finished, because they almost never came back up the stairs until a project was finished, and they had come up for breakfast earlier. Afterwards, they drove me to school. Dad did. His driving should be illegal. Heck, I'm pretty sure it is. Do they care? No. Not at all, even for the sanity of an overprotective older sister, or, in their case, oldest daughter. So, I made it home from school, and arranged a delay consisting of hiding Dad's hazmat suit. The one that was on the floor in the bedroom. I was careful as I snuck down to the lab. As long as Dad didn't complain to Mom, it should delay him for long enough for me to sneak into the lab, figure out what they were doing, and make it safely out again. I climbed down the amazingly steep stairs, and carefully assessed the area. I was about to head for the octagonal shape in the wall, when steps came down the stairs. I watcheds

"Mom, I need to work on my advanced psychology of adults program. I don't want to watch another stupid machine of yours that will fail incredibly horribly. Even if it is a portal to another diminsion, which I doubt, it defies all known laws of the physical world to open one. Thus, it is impossible." Jazz reasoned.

" A little break won't hurt your scores. Besides, suppose it does work." Maddie argued.

" It would be a major breakthrough in science, and we, the Fentons, would've started it all." Jack commented excitedly.

A portal? It made sense, considering the drawing on the wall. I had dismissed it as impossible, but just suppose it worked? Sam and Tucker would be very interested. I watched closely.

"Danny would be more interested in this stuff. You should've gotten him instead." Jazz informed my parents.

" Danny can go into the lab when he turns fourteen. No sooner." Maddie sternly corrected.

Cool. This was interesting.

" Here it goes. Now watch closely." Maddie continued. Jack carefully plugged the cord into the wall, and waited. Nothing happened. I felt a rush of disappointment.

"See? It doesn't work. All it did was spark. It's just another failure." Jazz stated.

Maddie frowned. "It should've worked. All the calculations are correct...What could possibly be wrong with it?"

"I don't know. Let's work on it some more later, after supper, some fudge, and the ghosthunting live reports on the convention Monday." Jack, obviously. You could tell by the fudge comment.

Mom, Dad, and Jazz slowly trod upstairs, leaving me alone, to pull out my phone and tell Tucker and Sam. Their amazement was funny.

"You did it already? I didn't expect you to do it until tonight!" This was Sam.

"A portal? To another diminsion? Please, let me look at the technology, man!" Tucker pled.

" Sure. I'll send you a picture."

" Thanks, dude."

" See you at school tommorow!" This was said, rather discordantly, but still, mostly simultaneously by all three of us.
