~~The next morning~~
Carly had bags under her eyes, due to the fact that she couldn't sleep. Yesterday she broke up with Divine after only a few days of dating. How sad is that, since Divine was her first boyfriend and they only have been practically going out for only one day. Her classmates and probably the whole school are going to gossip about that fact. Luckily, Divine said we could still be friends and hang out with each other during the lunch pauses.
When carly entered the class, the whole class was looking at her. Oh no, everyone knows already that we have broken up. Carly took some breathes in and out before going to her desk. When Carly sat behind her desk, she heard some girls chuckling. "I am sure that Divine got already bored of her after only dating one day," said one girl loud and clear, explicating saying the sentence in a volume audible to Carly. Some people were chuckling and laughing, while some other classmates just remained silent. I could expect this to happen, thought Carly. I just have to accept reality and endure the comments of my classmates. I am sure, that over time, they are going to forget about this incident.
Suddenly to Carly's shock, Jack has entered the class. How should I face him, thought Carly. Carly felt ashamed and lowered her face to her desk. Jack felt that the atmosphere of the class was tense, but couldn't understand why till he saw all the faces of the classmates facing towards at Carly. Did something happen which I still don't know yet, wondered Jack. Jack was heading toward his desk while suddenly he stopped next to Carly's desk. Carly was quite sure that it was Jack, but wouldn't dare to raise her head to meet Jack's eyes. She wasn't quite sure what kind of expression to expect of him.
Does he already know that I and Divine have broken up? However, it felt like an eternity that Jack was standing next to her desk and desperate to make him leave, she turned her face to meet Jack's. She could see that Jack just was just looking normally at her. She could even see some concern in his expression. "Are you okay, asked Jack. Carly was hesitating before she answered his question. …Yes, I am …doing fine. Thanks for your concern. Jack looked at her for short moment, before he headed to his desk. The whole class was looking at them with questioning looks. "Why on earth would Jack talk to that girl", whispered one girl to another girl.
The boy sitting next to Jack, whispered to Jack: "Did you know that Carly and Divine have broken up?" Jack gave him a puzzled look. "Yes, really, it's true," stressed the boy. Then jack turned his face towards Carly's back. Oh Carly, what on earth have I done!?thought Jack. Jack suddenly felt a little bit guilty about the plan he had executed with Misty. Jack didn't like to see a sad Carly. However Jack felt also a bit relieved, since is was finally over between Divine and Carly, so he can take her for himself. However he was wondering how he should end his so-called relationship with Misty, since the break-up of Carly and Divine was quicker than foreseen. It would be weird for me and Misty to break up soon after Carly's and Divine's break-up. Other classmates may wonder if the two break-ups are related to each other.
Jack needed to talk with Misty about this matter. After class, Jack went immediately to Misty's class. Misty was surprised to see Jack visiting her class, since it was mostly the other way around. "I am surprised to see you in my class." Jack gave her his fake smile. "Shall we go outside for a moment?" "Of course," responded Misty, while also showing her fake smile. When they had found a good spot outside with no other classmates around, they both dropped their pretenses and started talking to each other in very businesslike tones.
"Did you know that Carly and Divine have broken up?" Misty looked at him with an unsurprised look. Jack smiled. "I guess you already knew that. You probably already calculated that when you gave me that kiss on the mouth yesterday." Misty smiled and nodded. Jack shook his head. "That's wrong in so many ways." Misty shrugged her shoulders. "It doesn't matter, does it? Since in the end we reached our objective. Jack looked uncomfortably, but couldn't disagree, since yes in the end they have reached one of the objectives.
"So what do we do next," asked Jack. " That is a good question," said Misty. Jack looked at her in disbelief. "You don't have a plan?" Misty looked at him nervously. "Just give me some time to let me think about a plan." Jack saw that Misty's usual calm attitude has disappeared and instead she looked more upset as if she was not in control. Jack grinned. " I didn't know you could show this kind of expression." Misty blushed after Jack has said that. "Everyone does have these kind of moments!". Unluckily for Misty, Divine was passing by and heard Misty's outburst. "Sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop your conversation." Then Divine walked away, probably going to meet Carly so they could have lunch together. Misty felt so embarrassed, while Jack couldn't hold his laughter.
"That was a good timing. Now your prince charming has a better image of your character." "NO, that was the worst timing ever!" shouted Misty, while she let herself fall to the ground. "How on earth can I ever face him, now he thinks I am probably the type of girl who fakes her character in order to please other people." Misty was almost on the verge of crying, mostly worrying about how Divine might be thinking of her after her outburst. However Jack was in a more positive spirit.
Jack kneeled next to misty and put his hand on Misty's shoulder. "I am sure he thinks not that bad of you." Some tears were rolling from Misty's face. "Do you think so?" Jack smiled. "I am quite sure, which guy could ever ignore a girl when she in tears?" Misty nodded and stood up. She walked for a few meters and stopped. "Jack?" "What's wrong?" Misty suddenly turned around and showed her usual ice queen look. "Hereby let's just break up." Before jack could say anything, Misty already ran away.
"Oh, I didn't expect this to happen," said Jack while scratching the back of his head. Jack returned to his class and was stopped by a few boys. "He jack, is it true, that you have broken up with Misty?" jack gave them a surprised look. "From whom did you hear it?" "We heard it from some girls who heard it from Misty herself." Jack sighed."Yes, it's true." The boys shrieked. "So quick!" "Our images of each other didn't quite match reality, so we lost interest in each other," explained jack.
The whole class made an uproar, while Carly just came back to class after having had some lunch with Divine. What is the whole uproar about, wondered Carly. When Carly sat behind her desk, she heard some girls whispering to each other. "Did you know that Jack and Misty have broken up?" "Really?" "Yes, I heard it from some guys who heard it from Jack." The other girl was beaming. "Now one of the girls has a chance to take Jack." Carly couldn't believe her ears. Is it really true? Carly looked over her back to see how Jack was doing. Carly could see that Jack was surrounded by other classmates who were probably asking questions about their break-up.
Carly was curious about their break-up, but there was no way she could ask him that now. I have to ask him later. Later after fulfilling her class duty, Carly saw Jack waiting at the entrance. Carly was unsure how she should start the conversation with Jack, but luckily Jack was the first to approach her. "Carly, we need to talk with each other." "About what",asked Carly. "About my break-up and about you and me."
Carly blushed when Jack said that. "Okay, where should we talk?" "Should we talk at my place?" "Ok," responded Carly with a firm look.
