A/N: Heyy guys so I'm back again *evil laughs* just to let you know I might not update next weekend because I haven't wrote the next chapter yet but I'll try my hardest *looks down at feet nervously*

Chapter 37:The truth never set me free, so I'll do it myself

Cris felt the blood pour from her face, making it a deadly white. She couldn't breathe; everything was spinning, she didn't know what to think. Someone was trying to get her again, that much was obvious but she didn't know if it was the same guy as before.

Questions filled her brain once again: was it the same guy as before, was it a different guy; was it just a joke? A sick twisted joke but a joke none the less.

As much as Cris wanted it to be a joke; something inside her was telling her it wasn't. She had no idea what it was but it seemed to be convincing her of the worst.

Cris felt as if she were in a daze: her vision was blurring; everything was mixing as if they were paint being mixed on a canvas. She brought her hands up to her mouth trying to hide her gaping.

The only thing that snapped her back to reality was a small voice that drifted into her sub-consciousness: "Cris' gone lily white!"

That voice played round in her mind. If she was trying to convince herself she wasn't the lily in the note, this made her efforts useless.

"Did anyone see who messed with Cris' chair?" She heard Jem ask to the class that were gathered around them. Cris didn't know the answer because no one said anything but she guessed they shook their heads because Cris heard some people around her sigh in what seemed to be agitation.

Cris started trembling then. Her whole body shuddering at random intervals, she had no control over her muscles which twitched violently. She heard someone call out her name again, she didn't know who the voice belonged to, as black spots clouded her vision and the twitching stopped to be replaced with stillness.

She tried to fight the spots that threatened to overtake her sight but it was like trying to hold back a tsunami. No matter what devices were in play, nothing would stop the full effect of it.

She became weak. She felt tired and dreary. It was like an overwhelming surge hit her full force and forced her to submit to its power.

Finally, her legs gave way and she braced herself for the eventual sting that came from hitting the cold hard floor but it never came. She felt arms entangling her like vines which made her try and use that last miniscule bit of energy within her to wriggle from the grasp of her captors but she was too weak and too tired.

The darkness overcame her as it had done many times before.

Jem's POV

Jem could only watch as Cris collapsed.

Everything had happened so quickly, Jem couldn't even catch up with it. One moment she seemed to be standing in shock and the next she was hanging limp in a guy's arms. The guy just happened to be standing behind Cris at the time, which was lucky but Jem didn't feel like it was a moment to feel lucky. Not surprisingly.

"Shit!" He heard someone say behind him and that was enough to shake Jem out of his daze. Jem decided then, because everyone else was freaking out, to take charge.

"Lay her down and give her some space," Jem ordered to which the man holding gently laid her down on the floor then took a couple of steps back with everyone else. Jem knelt down beside her lifting her wrist up to take her pulse.

He could only feel the slight beat of a regular heartbeat but it was weak, if Jem hadn't had experience in hospitals then he probably wouldn't have felt it at all.

Jem let go of her wrist and it fell limply to her side. He looked at her face and you could've mistaken it for a black and white picture, her skin had turned as white as fresh snow; it made her hair and eye lashes look black in contrast, the only colour to her face was her lips. Her lips that had tinge of pink which worried Jem as they were normally a light magenta.

Jem put the back of his fingers to lightly rest on her cheeks, noticing that her skin was ice cold to the touch. "Someone go get Mr Michaelis and tell him to go to the infirmary," Jem said to which the class looked at him disbelievingly as Jem picked Cris up of the floor.

"He won't listen to anyone though," A girl stated and another added, "The only one he would listen to is Cris and she's not exactly conscious,"

He heard a sigh behind him and Jem turned around to watch Izzy looking more than slightly angry, "By the angel, idiots!" She nearly shouted throwing her hands up in the air.

"She means we'll go," Katniss clarified to which Jem nodded, thanking them before he walked out of the class, Cris draped in his arms, more like a curtain would than a person.

"We'll meet you in the infirmary, Jem," Hazel said before walking off with the others down the opposite corridor.

Jem walked at a fast pace to the infirmary which was luckily not so far away. Jem was surprised at how light she was, he hadn't noticed it before, seeing as he had only seen her that morning. He had supposed she'd lost some weight while being in a coma for a month but Jem thought she was a lot lighter than before and that worried him slightly.

Which only worked to add more worry to Jem. It didn't help that he was worried for Will; Jem knew that Cris was like a sister to Will and Jem didn't want Will to go through what happened with Ella because it nearly killed Will then and Jem couldn't watch his brother go through that again.

When he got to the infirmary the door was already open with a nurse on guard. Jem thought he recognised the nurse like she was a student at the school but that was obviously ridiculous even though she did look to be more of a girl than a woman.

"Lay her down over here," The nurse instructed, to which Jem did so, if a bit hesitantly. He gently placed her on one of the nearest beds. The nurse came over and it looked as if she was checking Cris over although she didn't seem to be really doing anything.

"Aren't you going to ask her name?" Jem asked and although that sounded incredibly rude to his own ears, he did think it was strange that the nurse didn't ask her name or even what happened.

The nurse didn't answer him just looked behind him expectantly. "Excuse me?!" Jem said, letting a little irritation enter his voice.

"Goodnight," was all she said with an evil smirk gracing her lips. Jem was about to ask what was going on, especially since it was half eight in the morning. But before he could a sharp prick was felt in his arm before darkness overcame him.

"Jem!" He heard a voice pulling him out of the darkness. His name sounded again but it sounded slightly different, more American.

Jem slowly opened his eyes to see quite a few blurry figures above him. Someone waves a hand in front of his eyes, his eyes instinctively follow the hand and the blurriness soon dissipates.

He blinks a few times before looking up at the faces looming over him. He jumps back slightly at the faces of Katniss, Clary, Tris, Izzy, Tessa, Maia and Hazel. Their eyes seem to be holding hope but Jem couldn't think for what they were hoping for.

"Jem, what happened?" Tessa asked softly, sweeping his hair out of his eyes and placing the back of her hand to his forehead; checking for a fever.

"Where's Cris?" A deep voice came from behind Izzy. Thinking that Izzy's voice can't possibly be that low; Jem scrunches his forehead together in confusion. To answer to his confusion they step apart to reveal Mr Michaelis standing their looking rather murderous, but then there wasn't much of a time where he didn't look like he was about to kill someone.

Jem sat up immediately, only to feel a wave of dizziness overcomes him. Somehow, he manages to quickly snap out of it and he stares at the teacher. This seems to annoy him as he almost growls, "Answer the question,"

Jem tries to hide his slight fear of the teacher as he looks around taking in his surroundings. He is laying in one of the many hospital beds in the infirmary and there seems to be no nurses to doctors in sight.

Jem looks over at the beds that form a line next to him; not one of them is occupied.

What the hell happened, where did Cris and the staff go?

He finally decides to answer the question, saying quietly, "I don't know,"

"What do you mean you don't know?" Izzy almost snarled. Jem was trying to think of a way not to get everyone totally pissed when he realised where he'd seen the nurse before.

The nurse who was the last face he saw before he passed out. No. Before he was knocked out.

Jem's hands unconsciously curled into fists at his sides making his knuckles go unbearably white. But he wasn't paying attention to that.

The nurse was a student at the school. Not any student but a student who happened to have a not so small obsession with Jamie. And because of that she despised Cris.

"W-we need to find Cris," Jem said, determination and slight anger set in his voice. "NOW!" He almost screamed.

Cris' POV:

A high pitched wailing sound sent waves of signals to her brain, bringing her out from the darkness. Cris groaned lightly; the noise, wanting to block her ears from the insanely loud alarm but finding she could not move her body.

What is going on? She wanted to question but finding she could not open her mouth.

"Crap, that's the alarm!" Someone very feminine said, she had that type of voice that sent cold shivers down Cris' spine.

"What alarm?!" A gruff voice questioned sounding slightly surprised.

"The one that they set up after the first time you guys failed, noting everyone there's someone in the school that's not meant to be," The feminine voice said, her toned clearly exasperated.

"Like a panic alarm!" The harsh voice rang out once again and ironically he sounded panicked.

"Idiot, yes. Do I also need to explain that if you don't get out of here everyone will find you and trust me this school may teach self-defence but no one uses it for defence,"

She heard a grunt but nothing else, she thought something was happening around her as she could hear the air whistle slightly in her ears.

It took her quite a long time to realise that because she couldn't move anything below her neck, she also couldn't feel anything.

Her eyes felt heavy though and she couldn't move her mouth as if it was glued shut.

Who were those people?

"God this girl is heavy," The gruff voice came again. She heard an annoyed sigh and said, "If the sickly silver haired dude can carry her with no complaints, so can you,"

Sickly silver haired dude? Did she mean Jem?

Her mind cleared a bit at that as she thought: where is Jem? The last time she saw him was in the classroom with everyone else.

Then she remembered the note.

Before she could divulge anymore into her new memory, she heard the harsh voice again, "Did you have to paralyse her as well as using the chloroform?"

Chloroform?! Did I hear that right? Cris thought as she desperately tried to unscramble her thoughts long enough to remember the effects of chloroform.

"Yes, she, apparently, can pass the effects of chloroform almost inhumanly quickly, that's why we taped her mouth and blindfolded her," She said before continuing, "Now shut up, they're on to us and we don't want anyone hearing your loud mouth"

No one's POV

The sound of the panic alarm rang through the school almost making the building shudder with its intensity. The alarm was installed after one of the students, her name Cris Jones, was nearly kidnapped, in the hope that it wouldn't happen again.

The alarm was more of a warning than anything; it was a warning to let students and the attacker know that the whole school was going in to 'lock down': automatically all entrances, doors and windows would be locked and sealed with no way of opening.

There were three people running to one of the schools secret entrances, that select students and teachers knew about. Only the people, students and teachers, who had proved themselves more than able in a worthy attribute that would help if the school was under attack: like skilled fighters, the best athletes, intelligence in combat and even code breaking, would know about the secret entrances.

It also helped that if anyone told anyone else about the secret entrances you would mysteriously 'disappear'. It had happened before.

The school was very mysterious. It also didn't help that around ten students, after graduating, would work for either the police, army, marines, or some MI6, secret service stuff.

The school wasn't a normal school, it didn't just train or academically but it trained you to win even in tough combat.

This was why when the alarm rang, those who were able enough ran out of their classrooms and buildings before the doors were locked, it helped that a lot of the students were able and had a want for fighting, this being the only acceptable way in the school to hurt another person: when the person was an intruder.

So when the three people running to one of the secret exits, although only two were running as one of them was draped limply of a big gruff man's shoulder, the other, a girl in year 10 wearing a nurse's uniform.

Everyone who ran out of their buildings formed a tight but giant circle, of at least one hundred students, a box of resources in the middle with items like walkie talkies and pick locking kits.

After forming a quick but effective plan, groups split up and raced in different directions: some to the surveillance room, some to the weapons room (yes the school had a weapons room; normally only used for target practice), some scattered around to defend certain areas of the school and some to where the intruder was thought to be.

The three people scattered then, the man with the girl on his shoulder, pulled open a door that was disguised as a wall and sprinted down the black, seemingly endless, hallway. After the man with the girl disappeared into the darkness, the fake nurse girl closed the door and quickly stripped herself of the nurse's uniform, to have her school uniform underneath.

She pulled on her blazer and shoved the nurse's uniform in the nearest bin.

Through the walkie talkies the dreaded words came through, "Intruder's disappeared off of the radar, over,"

The others had to hold their thoughts of 'what the hell?' as a boy with golden hair and eyes said calmly into the line, "Where did you lose contact? Over,"

The boy from before, who had messy brown hair and thick rimmed glasses to cover his brown eyes, replied, "Personally I never liked to talk to him, over"

The golden boy quickly understood what he meant as it was code for one of the secret entrances, and informed his group to go to the east corridor of the 'Guardian Angel' block.

The golden boy then asked, "Who is the intruder? Over,"

The nerdy brown head replied, "No traces of him, on any system. He has dark blonde hair, and blue eyes, is about six foot. He also has one of our students on his shoulder and was previously seen with another running student, over,"

"Names, Simon! Over," The golden boy demanded praying it wasn't who he was thinking it was.

Simon's computer finally came up with a result that made his fists clench to the point of pain. Simon couldn't utter a single word, so Eric took the walkie talkie.

"We only have identity for the girl on his shoulder. Her name is Crisiant Jones,"
