Silver and Saber had made it onto the secret island of the Witches of Woodstock. Luckily for them, it didn't seem like anyone needed their services today.

Checking their disguises as Merfolk, Silver and Saber rolled up in their wheelchairs to the witches' shack.

Knock, Knock.

The door slowly cracked open and in the archway stood the three beautiful Witches of Woodstock: Monica, Annika, Bubonica.

However, there was someone else with them. A girl with stormy grey eyes.

"Well it looks like you guys have guests," The mysterious girl said, noticing the duo. She offered them a smile.

"Oh hello?" Monica, the red-headed witch, greeted.

"Hi," Silver greeted as nicely as possible. She didn't like witches, but they needed their help. Besides her, she could feel Saber freeze. "We need your help."

"Huh, Merfolk don't usually ask us for assistance." Bubonica, the raven haired witch, said.

Silver froze for a second. It was good that they looked convincing enough to pass for Merfolk but questionable because if Bubonica was right, it would look suspicious for them to ask for their help.

"Anyway, how can we assist you guys?" Annika, the blonde witch, asked.

"Uh…we think we've sensed a Paradox in New York," Silver said, wearily.

"A paradox?" The unknown witch's eyes widen. She turned her eyes to the Witches of Woodstock. Their faces mirrored her expression. "So other Magical Creatures of the city are becoming aware of it."

"It seems so," Monica was thoughtful for a second. "I guess duty calls." The unknown witch nodded.

Silver took note of what they said. If this unknown witch knew about the Paradox, that means the Sorcerers also knew. This complicated things, but so long as they find out the cause, there shouldn't be a problem in their plan.

"It was good seeing you guys again," The unknown witch said. "And thank you for the information."

"Always a pleasure, Serenity," Annika said, smiling.

"It was nice catching up with you as well," Bubonica said. The three witches offered Serenity a smile.

"Till next time," Serenity spoke as a puff of smoke exploded in the area that Serenity no longer occupied.

"That girl and her tricks," Bunonica laughed.

"Tell me about it," Annika agreed. Monica just smiled, before turning her attention to Silver and Saber.

"Well the two of you best come inside," Monica said, gesturing for the two of them to join them. Silver didn't need to be told twice and Saber followed her suit.

It was finally time for them to find out the cause of the Paradox.

The first day of high school, Rose would be lying if she said she wasn't nervous. Luckily, she had Krystal beside her.

"You ready baby sis?" Krystal asked, a smile on her lips.

Rose looked at the entrance of the school, trying to settle her nerves. She envied Krystal's confidence. So she channeled her inner strength.

"Let's do this."

"That a girl," Krystal beamed.

The Kilmer Twins made their way into Filmore High School.

As they walked in, Rose noticed that the interior was just like the middle school. The only real difference were the colors and the size.

This made her feel better.

"Rose, Krystal!" Rose turned to see Janice waving to them. Danica was besides her. They made their way over to them.

"Hey guys," Janice greeted.

"Hey yourselves," Rose smiled at the girls.

"You guys excited?" Danica asked. Rose shrugged.

"More like nervous," Rose said. Danica gave her an understanding look.

"You seem excited Janice," Krystal noted Janice's jittery exterior.

"Of course I am," Janice said. "It's high school. A new chapter in our lives."

"I guess," Krystal shrugged, feigning indifference. But Rose knew her sister was just as excited as Janice.

"So are you guys thinking of trying out for the cheerleading team?" Janice asked Krystal and Rose.

"Oh I didn't know you guys cheered," Danica said.

"Yup, "Krystal emphasized the 'p'. Ever since their hangout, Krystal had been nicer to Danica and vice-versa. "I am definitely trying out," Krystal smirked, she loved cheer.

"I definitely am not," Rose said.

The other girls frowned.

"Why?" Danica asked.

"Yeah, I've seen your moves Rose. You're better then Stacey and them," Janice said, but quickly added "no offense" for Krystal's sake. After all, they were her closest friends.

"None taken," Krystal said.

"Thanks," Rose said. "But I'm not much of the cheerleader type."

"Oh come on," Krystal said. "You said you could do a better backflip than me. Prove it."

Rose shook her head.

"I think I'll pass."

Krystal sighed.

"Are you guys thinking of joining any sports teams?"

Danica nodded.

"Yeah swim," She said. "I love it and the program here is great. I've already talked to the coach."

"That's awesome!" Janice said. "I haven't thought much about it. I might join the Drama Club."

"That's a good fit for you," Krystal said. "I remember you performed in Antony & Cleopatra in middle school. I heard you were good."

"Thanks," Janice blushed. "But it was Rose who got the star role."

"Really?" Danica hadn't been there when they put on Antony & Cleopatra in the seventh grade. Rose didn't remember it much.

"Yeah but some family emergency had come up so I couldn't do the play," Rose said.

"Yeah, mom had food poisoning and we had to take her to the hospital," Krystal said.

"Yeah but didn't you come back with a broken leg the next day," Janice remembered.

"Oh my gosh," Krystal said. "I remember that."

"How'd you break your leg?"

Rose tried to remember.

There was a ringing in her ears. Images flashed before her eyes.

"You can't finish the spell without the spell book," A red dragon held the book in his hand.

"Finish him!"

But the red dragon lit the book on fire. Soon, all the men in the animal masks dropped dead. Only one remained.

But the other, blue dragon attacked the last man in the mask.

The man held a spear with green energy beams shooting out of it. Struggling with the blue dragon, the man in the mask lost control of the spear. It started shooting beams all over the place.

One hit her right in the leg.

'"Ahhh," She let out a scream, falling to the floor.

The man in the mask and the blue dragon were still fighting. However, the man managed to push the blue dragon off.

He kneeled down next to her, concern etched in his face. Giving the dragons a venomous look.

"Another day, dragons," The man promised before disappearing with her.

Krystal's voice brought Rose out of her daydream.

"Let's just say Rose is a klutz," Her sister chuckled, "She had fallen down the steps of the hospital after mom got cleared. But then we had to go back for her."

"Right," Rose said, sort of remembering that night.

"So did you end up playing her understudy?" Danica asked. Janice shook her head.

"No actually, Spud did," Janice said. "He played Antony and Cleopatra, but then our director sent Trixie up to play Cleopatra, but then booted her off. In the end though, for Act 4 scene 15, Spud played Cleopatra and I think Jake played Antony."

"Wait, my Jake?" Danica asked. Janice nodded.

Rose didn't like how Danica called Jake, 'my Jake'. It didn't sit well with her. But she shook off that feeling.

"So that means they kissed," Krystal asked, Janice nodded again.

Both Danica and Krystal started laughing. Rose found it amusing too.

"I would have paid to see that," Danica smiled.

"Same! Krystal said," At least something amusing came out of your injury, Rose."

"I guess," Rose gave a tight smile. She still didn't understand what she just saw. It seemed so vivid, almost like they were memories but that wasn't possible.

Her imagination was running too wild these days, she settled.

Nigel had agreed to meet up with Kyle at school. When he got there, he saw Kyle by his locker with Trixie, Spud, and Jake.

Now that was interesting.

Despite being Trixie's boyfriend, Nigel didn't think Kyle was close to the American Dragon and his friend.

But then again, after their hangout, it seemed like Kyle had warmed up to them. Kyle was a likeable guy and Jake wasn't a bad person either. Egotistic, but not bad.

"Hey," Nigel greeted them.

"Hey man, what's up!" Kyle smiled.

"Nothing, how are you guys?" He asked them.

"I'm good baby boy," Trixie smiled, snuggling into Kyle's arms. Kyle grinned down at her. If it were social acceptable and not gross, Nigel would have vomited at the two's open affections.

"Not bad, not good either though," Spud said.

"Same," Jake agreed, "What about you?'

"Yeah," Kyle turned his attention to Nigel. A smirk adorned his face. "Anything interesting happen to you?"

Nigel rolled his eyes. He knew what Kyle was getting at.

"Oh put a cork in it."

Kyle laughed.

"What are we missing?" Jake asked, both Trixie and Spud shrugged.

"Our boy here has himself a little crush," Kyle grinned.

"Ooohhhh," Spud seemed excited. "Who?"

"Oh come on, spill!" Trixie was also interested. Nigel didn't take Trixie for a gossip but then again, everyone did like new information.

"Yeah Nigh, go on, tell them." Nigh was Kyle's nickname for him. Nigel didn't mind it but he still wasn't saying anything.

"Oh come on," Even the American Dragon nudged him, trying to get him to spill.

"If I tell you, will you leave me alone?" It was only slightly irritating. They nodded. He might as well get it over with.

"I think I like Rose, Rose Kilmer."

Instead of the awing and swooning he expected, he saw Jake freeze up. Even Trixie and Spud looked a little befuddled. Kyle seemed to pick up on it.

"Are you guys alright?"

"We uh…" Spud didn't seem to know what to say. He just looked at Jake.

"Uh yeah…." Trixie covered for him, but her eyes were on Jake too. After a beat, Jake smiled.

"Yeah, we're fine," Jake said, a tight smile adoring his face." That's great dude."

"Uh thanks," Nigel said, looking at the trio and then Kyle. He just shrugged at the awkwardness.

"Well I'll see you guys around," Jake said.

"Yeah, see you guys." Spud followed after. Only Trixie remained.

"You know what honey," Trixie looked up at Kyle, "I'll catch you later. I gotta check up on Jake."

"Okay," Kyle seemed confused but Trixie gave him a peck on the lips before following the other boys.

"That was weird," Kyle said, looking after his girlfriend.

"Definitely," Nigel agreed.

He remembered having the American Dragons eyes on him when they all hung out . He also noticed that the three of them and Rose had talked for a while when everyone else was playing games.

There was something he was missing.

"Yo, Jakey," Trixie called out. "Are you alright?"

Jake let out a sigh.

"Yeah, "He said, "I just have to get used to this new reality with Rose. It's just harder than I thought."

"I'm sorry bud," Spud placed his hand on Jake's shoulder, offering him comfort.

"Thanks man," He said. "If you don't mind. I'm going to find Danica."

"Okay man," Spud said.

"See you later," Trixie watched as Jake walked away from them.

"Man this sucks for Jake," Spud commented.

"I know," Trixie said, "I wish there was a way we could help him out."

Krystal had said bye to Danica, Janice, and Rose and went off to find Stacey, Tracey, and Lacey.

She enjoyed Rose's friends' companies. Technically, they were her friends too now, she supposed. They were nice to her and she liked them.

But she had also missed her other friends as well.

It didn't take long to track Tracey and Lacey down. They were both by their lockers, talking to some guys.

"Hey,' Krystal greeted them.

"Oh hi girl," Tracey greeted.

"What's going on?" Lacey smiled.

"Nothing really," Krystal looked at the guys. She'd never seen them before. "You guys?"

"Just getting to know our new friends," Tracey said, smiling flirtatiously at the boys.

"They're juniors," Lacey scooted in and whispered into Krystal's ears. Then she returned to one of the guy's sides and giggled like a school girl.

"Uh huh," Krystal said, looking at the said juniors. She didn't like the way they looked at her friends' bodies. "I'm' Krystal."

"Nice to meet you, Krystal," A boy with spikey black hair and a lazy grin said. "I'm Chad."

"Right," Krystal said, "And I'm not interested."

Without another thought, she grabbed Lacey's and Tracey's hands and dragged them away despite their protest.

"What the hell was that, Kilmer?" Tracey glared.

"That was so not cool," Lacey agreed, crossing her arms.

"Girls, those guys were total tools," Krystal said, rolling her eyes. "You're just fresh meat to them. They'll chase the next girl with a pair of legs."

"That's not true," Tracey said, rolling her eyes.

"Isn't it?" Krystal quirked her eyebrows and looked over the girls' shoulders. They followed her eyes as well.

And surely enough, Chad and his friend were chatting up the next pair of girls that gave them their attention.

"See," She said, making her point.

"Ugh," Lacey said with disgust, "What pigs!"

"Ew," Tracey said, "Totally not cool."

"Thanks for the save," Lacey smiled at her.

"Yeah, honestly." Tracey said, softening up a bit.

"No problem," Krystal knew what it was like getting unwanted and unworthy male attention. Being blonde haired and blue eyed wasn't always a perk. "I have your girls' backs, always."

Both Lacey and Tracey smiled at her. Despite the negative images the girls had, Krystal had always counted on them and they never let her down.

"So I'm guessing Stacey is with Brad?" Krystal asked.

"Yeah," Tracey rolled her eyes. "We haven't seen much of her this past week."

"It stinks that we haven't seen her," Lacey said.

"Well let's go rectify that situation," Krystal said. She'd be damned if she let her best friend spend more time with a guy than with her best friends.

Soon the three of them went off to find Stacey, what they found wasn't what they expected.

In the corner of the hall, far from everyone, Krystal could see that Brad and Stacey were arguing about something.

Brad said something. Stacey retaliated. And soon, Brad stormed off and Krystal could make out the tears in the corner of her best friends eyes.

Krystal, Tracey, and Lacey quickly ran over to their friend.

"Hey girls," Stacey said weakly. Krystal knew she didn't like to show weakness in front of anyone. So without much thought, she pulled Stacey in for a hug.

"What happened?" Krystal asked.

"Yeah, girl, you can trust us." Tracey said.

"We're here for you," Lacey said.

"Brad and I broke up," Stacey said, her words cold. Tracey and Lacey gasped, but Krystal wasn't as surprised. She knew that Stacey's and Brad's relationship had always been rocky.

"I'm so sorry hun," Lacey words held sympathy.

"I can kick his ass for you," Tracey offered and Stacey smiled at her in return.

"No," Stacey said, "He is not worth it. If he can't see by value, then screw him."

"That a girl," Krystal was proud of her friend. "Who needs boys anyways."

Stacey nodded.

"You're right, I'm here to do me now."

"Good," Krystal beamed at her best friend.

The other girls joined them in a group hug.

"Now let's make high school ours," Stacey said, wiping the rest of her tears away with a look of determination on her face.

"Here, here," Tracey and Lacey shouted in agreement and Krystal smiled.

She knew Stacey would be okay and high school would be just fine with her friends besides her.

Nothing could stop them.

"Lady Alida," Serenity greeted her old master, "I have news for you."

"Yes, what is it?" Alida asked.

Serenity remembered her visit to Monica's, Annika's, and Bubonica's place. At first, it was a friendly visit. But then, they had asked her if she sensed the shift in the balance of the world.

"I visited the Witches of Woodstock earlier this week," Serenity began," And I came across some troubling news."

"And what might that be?"

"Apparently, they noticed the shift in the balance and creatures of the magical community are sensing the Paradox as well." Not only did those Merfolk know, but if the Witches of Woodstock sensed it, that meant others would sense it too.

"Troubling indeed," Alida's eyes filled with concern. "If the balance is disturbed for too long, things could go amuck in the magical world. Chaos would ensure. Then that chaos would seep into the human world."

"So what do we do?" Serenity asked.

"We must find out the cause," Alida said.

"Well actually I might have a guess," Serenity said and Alida's eyes widen with anticipation. "The Witches of Woodstock believe that the Aztec Skulls might have something to do with it."

"Their destruction would not have hinder the balance," Alida said, confused.

"No but a recent wish might have," There was a sign of surprise on Alida's face. "The Witches believe the destruction of the Huntsclan wasn't the only wish cast that night."

"That cannot be so," Alida said, "Lao Shi reported that to be the last wish made before the American Dragon destroyed the Skulls."

"But I was talking to the Witches and they said that they sensed two wishes cast that night by the Aztec Skulls," Serenity said.

Alida thought for a second.

"Lao Shi is an honorable man," Alida said, "But the Witches of Woodstock do not lie. We must talk to the Sorcerer Council and the Dragon Council to get to the bottom of this."

Serenity nodded.

"Let's go."

And with a puff of smoke, Alida and Serenity were on their way to talk to the Sorcerer and Dragon Councils.

Another one, I hope you guys enjoyed!
