A/N: Sorry guys if this has many mistakes. I only reviewed the first 200 to 300 words. After that, I have not checked for any mistakes because it is late, I am tired, I need to finish my Chinese course, and because I feel like this update is way past due. If Hiashi is a little OOC for this point in the manga, then I am sorry. But I wanted to focus on his broken relationship with Hinata and how they can slowly mend their relationship together as father and daughter. I wish we could have seen more of that in the manga. I might add more to this tomorrow, so if I were you, I'd check back up on this soon! This is once again dedicated to Dotchi13 and all those fans who have patiently for me and have not given up on this story! I loved the reviews and the surprise attack of many followers! I have NEVER had this many followers on before! It makes me SO HAPPY! :D Please tell me what y'all think of this chapter! ありがとうございます!

Hinata hobbled over to the bench as fast as she could, which, to her dismay, took a lot more excruciating effort on her part. She gritted her teeth in pain as she reached the vacant seat. Tears were in her eyes. She let out a quiet moan and tilted her head back.

It felt like she was dying.

Labored breaths started emitting from her mouth. She clenched her side where a bandage had once again come undone. Figures.

"He..lp. Help." she wheezed.

Perspiration was prancing across her forehead. When did everything suddenly become so hot?

"Lady Hinata! Lady Hinata!" yelled a servant.

The girl felt somebody shaking her, but she was already beginning to lose consciousness. She slumped over on the bench. Her world had become black.

The servant bit down on an exasperated whine.

'I've got to get her to the house!' he thought.

He picked up the limp girl and carried her on his back up to the Hyuuga residence.

Hiashi was busy with guests when the servant arrived. He was nonetheless startled, along with his company, by the servant's abrupt burst through the door. He stared incredulously at the man.

"What do you think-"

That was when his eyes focused on Hinata's exhausted body. He sighed.

She was training. Again.

He turned on the servant.

"I thought I told you I didn't want her sparring! The doctor said she almost died."

"I promise sir that I was not aware of Lady Hinata's actions! She told me she only wanted to walk around to get some fresh air! I swear to you I did not know of her true intentions, or I would have-"

"Save it! Take her up to Asa. She will heal her wounds."

The servant did as he was told and exited the room. Hiashi rubbed a hand over his face and groaned. Why did Hinata always have to be the difficult daughter? Granted, she did try her best to succeed but…

"Ah, yes. I heard your daughter suffered greatly by the hands of your nephew Neji. Am I mistaken, Hiashi?"

He shook his head and faced back towards his guests.

"No, that is correct Akito. It was during this past Chuunin exams."

"Hm. So she is not recovering well?"

"She would be, but she keeps pushing herself to train. She doesn't seem to comprehend that the body must rest first before it can fully heal, and work the way she wants it to. She is striving for too much…and she punishes herself when she can't reach her goals."

Hiashi said this last sentence with a taste of bitterness in his mouth. He supposed he could blame himself for that. He did feel a little guilty about how he treated his daughter in the past.

"I see you upgraded your guard duty as well along your borders." piped in the other male. "Why is that? Are you not wanting a repeat of what happened with the boy's father?"

Hiashi bristled at that. "We have reason to believe someone is stalking my daughter."

Jin, who had asked the question, raised an eyebrow at this. "Hinata? Are you sure?"

"We are not certain but weird things have been happening ever since Hinata and this estranged patient were admitted into the hospital. My daughter kept waking up to the feeling of a dark, ominous presence and someone watching her. She found flowers with blood covering their stems one night on her bed, and has been disturbed ever since. What's really mysterious is that the estranged patient who seemed to be the only person possible of knowing what was going on suddenly disappeared after giving my daughter a vague warning. My daughter fears for her life. I believe that's why she's been training so much recently; to not only better herself, but to also defend herself against whatever is out there."

"Interesting. Are you currently requesting any outside help?"

"No, but I thank you for your concern. I believe we Hyuugas will be able to take care of our own."

"Tsk. Independent as always, I see."

"Of course."

The two guests proceeded to stand up. "Well alright then Haishi. We will be checking up on you and your daughter's wellbeing. If you need anything, anything at all, let us know." The two gentlemen then bowed before being escorted by a maid out of the house.

Haishi decided it was time to see about his daughter.

It didn't take too long Hinata to be patched together again. Though she still didn't look too good. Despite her protests, Hiashi forbade her from leaving the Hyuuga household until she completely healed.

Supper was soon finished and he remained with her until she completed eating all of her food.

"You need to get regain your strength." he scolded her. "You won't get it back until you find it in yourself to stop being so stubborn and relax. Nobody is asking you to over exert yourself Hinata; just you. Sleep."

"But-" she began.

"Sleep!" He then shut the door firmly behind him.

Hinata sighed. She should have ignored the pain earlier and found someone later to treat her wounds. Now she was practically under house arrest. Why did she have to be so weak and worthless?

She shifted under the covers in defeat, and began to snuggle into the dozens of stuffed animals that littered her bed. They were all so soft and warm. The homely feeling suddenly made her feel somewhat at peace.

'This is nice.'

Her eyes fluttered once before going to shut themselves from the world. For once, this wasn't the hospital. Her house was protected, her bedroom was protected, she was protected. Nothing was going to happen to her. She could rest with no worries.

She had half way convinced herself that when she felt it again.

Her eyes snapped awake and she stilled. Her heart was hammering against her chest. Her palms were growing clammy with sweat.

It was in the room.

At the edge of her bed.

Just standing there.

…Like it had been for the past two weeks at the hospital. A sickening feeling arose in her gut. Something was different about it tonight, and she wasn't sure what. But it certainly wasn't good.

She contemplated screaming. However, what if it was strong and fast? Would it be able to strike her dead before the guards could come to her rescue?

She really only had one option then. She quickly closed her eyes and began to sink further into the bed. She would pretend to be asleep until it left like it eventually always did.

Time seemed to pass by slowly as she remained quiet under the covers. She would snore occasionally to make her fake slumber seem more realistic. However, what she didn't realize was that she never snored when she was actually sleeping. This tiny detail did not go unnoticed by the blood thirsty male either.

He was more worried than suspicious though, to his chagrin. It appeared the more he visited the girl like this, when Shukaku was at his peak, the more he only seemed to want to care for her. He had heard in the past that snoring was not good, and he had suddenly wondered what could have made her start producing such noises.

With these thoughts, he began to move towards her.

Hinata sensed this and her snoring instantly stopped. She was scared. Soveryveryveryscared.

When it reached the side of her bed, she nearly fainted. She still couldn't see its face; it was too dark in the room.

A thought occurred to her. She recalled hiding a shuriken underneath her pillow from earlier that day. She pretended to be moving in her sleep and turned on her side, all the while hastily sticking her hands under the pillow and feeling for the pointy weapon. She inwardly grinned. 'Gotcha!'

If it was all she had to protect herself, then so be it. She would survive or die trying. She'd never give up, for that was her ninja way.

It continued to stare down at her for a while before making a move to touch her. She tensed and then, with all the energy she could muster, sprang from the bed and stabbed at it. There was a curse and a pause. Then, next thing she knew, she was being flung against her bedroom wall, an invisible force seeming to restrain her.

Grainy particles caressed her wrists and ankles as she remained floating in the air. What was this?

She let out a whimper. "Please…I don't know what you want. But just…just don't hurt my family. Take me if you want, but don't hurt them."

She was sobbing now. This person…or whatever it was seemed powerful. She no longer knew what to do. Would calling for her family only endanger their lives as well?

"Naruto – kun." she cried out. This only infuriated the being more. Their hold on her tightened.

"Why do you keep bringing forth his name?"

Hinata blinked. Huh?

What did he have against Naruto? Newfound courage and anger zoomed up the Hyuuga's body. "You! – Don't you dare hurt Naruto!"

A dark chuckle vibrated the room. An even more demonic sounding voice started to speak. "She's a feisty one, isn't she boy? If we are not too careful, we might actually end up falling for her, and without that red bit's influence."

Hinata gasped. By red, did he mean the-

She was dropped on the wooden floor.

"Sweet dreams princess."

The heavy presence was gone. About two seconds later, guards were crashing through her bedroom door.

"Lady Hinata! Are you alright?" they asked her. They were all beginning to surround her on the floor. One of them helped her back to the bed.

"We thought we heard commotion. What happened?!"

Hinata shivered. She wasn't entirely sure herself. She gestured for them to please close her window. Hiashi soon came next. He was considerably angry. "I want two guards patrolling her balcony at all times and a trained servant in her bedroom when she goes to bed! Got it?!" he barked.

"Yes sir!"

"And you!" he glared at Hinata. "Why didn't you call for help?" he snapped. "What the hell were you thinking?!"

She was taken aback by his use of foul language. Rarely had she seen it.

"I-I was afraid something bad might happen if I-"

"Because of you, we might not ever find the bastard!"

"Father, I-I'm sorry-"

"No you're not."

"What? I-"

"Let's go!" he growled. The guards quickly followed after their Lord. Hinata stared after them, hurt and feeling distraught as always. The maid went beside her and patted her on the hand. "Don't mind his words Lady Hinata. He was just worried about you. Lord Hiashi has a funny way of expressing his feelings."

But this did little to ease Hinata's mind. She had always been mentally and emotionally abused by her father. If it wasn't for Naruto, she was sure she would have just given up. On everything.

Gaara watched the scene unravel before him. He didn't mean for his little moon to get in trouble. But he didn't feel all that bad for her. She had it coming for having the audacity to mutter his name from her lips.

However, that small, stupid, affectionate voice was trying to berate him for his selfish, jealous behavior and thoughts. He scoffed. The potion was trying to convict him of his actions. Well, it could get over it. Hopefully.

It was a shame he couldn't find the red head. He no longer had a playmate. The Hyuuga would have been easy prey, but since his body couldn't stand the thought of killing her, he would have to keep on hunting. This was the Shukaku part, of course. The humane piece of Gaara, which was tucked away under so much emotional and traumatic garbage, was yearning for sleep. He hadn't slept at all in the past week.

Whenever he did, he could feel Shukaku slowly ebbing his way into his mind to eat bits of his soul. Not exactly the most pleasant thing in the world.

He made sure to memorize the position of all the guards before turning to leave. He'd find a way to get to her. Even if it meant shedding a little blood here and there.
