"So, where and when are you headed?" River asked. "1851 Victorian England? 3079 Barcelona? 5023 Easter Island?"

"We were going to meet Poe" I answered. "In 1835".

"Right, your idol."

"How the hell did you know that?"

"Spoilers."

"Should have figured as much" I muttered. River ignored me, turning to face the Doctor.

"I need you to come with me. There's a bit of a situation" River told him. Then she turned towards me. "So sorry, Violet, but your little trip is going to have to be put on hold for the moment."

"What kind of a situation?" the Doctor asked her.

"Daleks. 5017. Luna University. The place is littered with them. No one knows how they got in and we have no way of getting rid of them. It only started out with three of them, but they've quickly multiplied somehow to over 100."

"Well, we're not going anywhere until I figure out what's wrong with the TARDIS."

"Oh, there's nothing wrong with her, sweetie. I just had to temporarily intercept your flight trajectory long enough to teleport myself on board."

"How'd you manage that?" the Doctor asked, absolutely flabbergasted.

"With this" River said, shoving him a fancy wrist-watch device.

"What's that?" I asked.

"Vortex Manipulator" the Doctor explained, taking out his Sonic and proceeding to scan it. "Apparently with a Sonic Chip 5000x embedded into it."

"I added that little touch" River told him in an almost seductive-sounding voice. "You like?"

"So, what's your specialty exactly?" the Doctor asked in a quick attempt to change the subject. "At Luna University?"

"I'm a Professor of Archeology." The Doctor scoffed. "You've got a problem with Archeologists, sweetie?"

"I hate archeologists. In fact, I point and laugh at archeologists."

"You try that with me and I will slap you into your next regeneration. Then we'll see who's pointing and laughing." The Doctor just stood there, his mouth agape. "Oh, stop doing that. You look like Jim the Fish."

"Who's Jim the Fish?"

"Never mind, sweetie. Now let me give you a quick debriefing before we arrive. You are going to be John Smith, Associate Professor of Astrophysics. Here's your badge. Keep it with you at all times. Here's a com device" she said handing him a small square silver device. "It has a GPS chip in it, so we'll know where the other is at all times. Don't lose it!"

"What about me? Who's my persona going to be?" River turned to face me.

"I'm sorry, Violet, but I think it's best if you sit this one out."

"Well, I think I won't." I said, getting up and walking over to the pair.

"Violet, sweetie, you do not want to cross me. Now please sit." I folded my arms and looked her straight in the eye.

"Make me!"

"As you wish" River said, grabbing me by my arm. She sat me down and handcuffed me to the railing.

"What the hell? You can't do this! What do you think you're doing?" River took out a glass bottle and sprayed what appeared to be perfume right into my face. I closed my eyes and coughed. "What did you just do?"

"Don't worry, Violet. This is just a harmless little agent that'll help you relax." My eyelids quickly grew heavy and it was a struggle to stay awake. "Don't fight it, sweetie. We'll be back before you know it." The last thing I saw was River walking towards the console and the Doctor looking over his shoulder, casting me a worried glance.
