A/N: Hey guys! So sorry for the delay with updating. Things have been crazy lately. Anyway, here's an extra long chapter since I don't know when I'll be able to update next. Hopefully soon! As always, please read and review. I love reading them.

The TARDIS shook around for a bit before coming to a complete stop.

"We here?" I asked.

"Yep," the Doctor chirped. "1920's Paris is right outside of these doors." The Doctor headed towards the doors.

"Sweetie, did you even bother to check the scanners?" River asked, her hand on her hip. The Doctor stopped in his tracks and turned around.

"What for?"

"Oh, I don't know. Maybe to be sure that we actually landed where and when you said that we would?"

"Do you really have so little faith in my driving skills?" the Doctor asked her.

"Considering you failed your TARDIS flight test? Yes, I do."

"Wait, you failed your test?" I asked him. "How did you even manage to get a TARDIS?"

"Well," the Doctor began, "I sort of borrowed her during the Time War." My mouth dropped open.

"You stole your TARDIS?"

"Hey! I had every intention of returning her."

"Sure, sweetie" River responded in a sarcastic tone.

"Of course you did." I added. The Doctor sighed.

"Fine, I'll check the scanners" he said walking over to the console. "But I'm absolutely positive that they'll show my landing was…" he said, trailing off.

"Was what?" I asked.

"Was slightly off."

"How slightly?" When he didn't answer, River walked over to the scanners. She looked down and simply shook her head.

"What happened?"

"Violet, the Doctor landed us in the middle of the London Blitz."

"You mean World War Two?"

"Exactly right!" River affirmed.

"Hey, I wasn't THAT far off. I was only 20 years off and on the wrong side of the English channel. When you take all of space and time into consideration that's…"

"Still," I interjected, "I don't exactly feel like being blown to smithereens by some German bombers."

"Violet. You never know, this could end up being a grand adventure!" I rolled my eyes.

"If I die or regenerate, it's all your fault" I sneered before walking past him and out the door. I ended up in some sort of office room. There were several men, whom appeared to be soldiers, that surrounded me, guns pointed in my direction. I gulped. "Um…Doctor...River, a little help out here please." The Doctor immediately walked out of the TARDIS.

"Violet, what…Oh, I see!"

"Doctor? Is it you?" a heavy-set man asked.

"Oh, Winston! My old friend!" Churchill then held out his hand, beckoning.

"What's he after?" I asked him.

"Ah! Everytime" The Doctor said with a shake of his head, before turning towards me.

"TARDIS key" he explained. I nodded.

"Doctor, think of what I could achieve. The lives that could be saved."

"Ah, doesn't work like that."

"Must I take it by force" Churchill threatened.

"I'd like to see you try." Churchill turned towards his soldiers. "At ease!" The soldiers put their guns down. "I have something to show you, Doctor. Follow me." I stood there, unsure of whether or not I should come along as well, when the Doctor beckoned me to follow. So I did.

"Isn't River coming along too?" I asked the Doctor.

"No, she was needed back at the University."

"Oh," I said, caught off guard. The Doctor turned towards me.

"I thought you'd be happy to hear this considering how you feel about her" the Doctor said with a bit of edge to his voice.

"I am" I responded, hoping my voice wasn't betraying me.

"Good," he simply responded before turning his attention away from me and continuing to follow Churchill. We followed him up an elevator, which brought us to the roof. There were sandbags and sentries scattered about; a white-coated scientist was searching the skies with a pair of binoculars. Churchill turned to face us.

"Doctor, this is Professor Edwin Bracewell. Head of our Ironsides project." The Doctor gave Bracewell a 'V' for 'Victory' salute, which was returned.

"How do you do?" Bracewell responded. I was about to answer when another man, off to the side announced that there were "two flights JU thirty eight engines approaching from the East."

"What is that?" I asked the Doctor.

"History," he simply responded, turning to look at where the noise was coming from.

"Ready, Bracewell?" Churchill asked

"Aye, aye, sir! On my order, fire!" A strange lazer-like bolt shot out from behind the sandbags, instantly destroying all of the German war planes in the sky. The Doctor turned towards Churchill with a fierce look in his eyes.

"That wasn't human! This technology is too advanced for this time. Show me. Show me what that was this instant!"

"Advance!" Bracewell called out. A dome-like robot rolled out from behind the emplacement, it's designation logo being the Union flag. It is painted khaki with a union belt around it.

"What is that thing?" I asked the Doctor.

"A Dalek" he responded, never once taking his eyes off of the robot.

"But I thought you said that they were all frozen in the Time Lock along with all of the other Time Lords."

"It's a very long story. I'll tell you later." He then took a step towards the Dalek. "What are you doing here?"

"I am your soldier" it responded in a very monotone voice.

"Stop this! You know who I am, Dalek!"

"Negative. Your identity is unknown."

"What are you doing here?" the Doctor repeated.

"I am your soldier."

"Soldier of what?"

"The Allied cause. I am designated to help the allied cause."

"Don't lie to me! I know who you are and what you're capable of. I am The Doctor. The Oncoming Storm. I can defeat you like that" he said with a snap of his fingers. "Now, tell me, what is your ultimate aim?" The Dalek rolled up beside me.

"To win the war!" The last thing I saw before being surrounded by a blinding light was the Doctor running towards me with his arm stretched out.
